Love this place. The barber cutting my hair, Sheena, was awesome. Played music videos on to watch while I got my hair cut. It was quick, and cut right. I suspect these recent negative reviews are fake and from competition. I wont bother going anywhere else around here. Its a fun atmosphere.

Sadly, after COVID, this place took a hard hit. Feels like the personality of the place that brought me there originally is gone. A lot of the barbers are gone. Still a decent haircut but it doesnt feel as welcoming as it did 1.5 - 2 years ago.

Ive taken my son here on and off for quite some time and every single time i do they are never ready for the appointment. I can understand occasionally but not every time should this be happening. On top of that, The people working there are very dismissive towards me. And Just all around not very friendly. The hair cuts are decent but it’s not worth coming here anymore because the customer service is always trash 🗑 which is unfortunate. Not sure if it’s because they prefer not to do children but either way, still not excusable.

Claire cut my mop and dayum, she really did an amazing job! I got so many compliments even from my macho coworkers. Everything was absolutely perfect and lined up. Conversation was great and very genuine. I have a normal barber at a different shop Ive been going to for years so I was a little nervous at first but Claire has confidence and its obvious that its because of her skill. She had some great advice and setup my hair shape to grow how Im hoping. Anyways, felt great after my cut and I may have just found myself a new long term barber! Shave and beard trim was also great!

I sent my boyfriend here for a cut and the barbers were amazing! They were efficient and super nice. They made us feel at home! The experience was absolutely awesome and the cut looks so good! Everything is even and the fade looks amazing! We will absolutely be coming back!

Visiting town for the month and I really needed a haircut so I stopped by Uptown Barbershop because of the good reviews. I would definitely recommend an appointment but they do take walk-ins as they can. Everyone was friendly and the haircut was great. Unique punk vibe to the barber shop that was pretty cool. I would definitely stop in more if I lived in town. Highly recommend.

By far best haircuts in Bremerton, the place is a refreshing break from the typical $5 chop shops. The people who work here are always warm and inviting. I would personally recommend Stewart for all your haircutting needs

Loved going in to support a local barber to get my hair cut today! I made an appointment online to work with Schylia, and she gave me exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an undercut to help thin out my fine but thick hair with the heat we have been getting lately. Normally my hair insulates my head because there is just so much of it. Schylia helped me figure out just how much we were going to shave off to start with and in the few hours since seeing her it has already made a huge difference. I will be a return customer for sure!

Scheduled an appointment for 7:45 this morning. Arrived at 7:40 and the barber said he was doing another haircut and hed be done in 10 minutes and then have to sanitize. At 7:55, he hadnt even finished the other appointment. I had to get to work, so I had to leave.

I have been coming to uptown for over 3 years now to get my hair cut. I only just realized I have never left a review. The people here are great and I always have a laugh. They all take there time and never rush a haircut so you never feel like a burden. This is my barbershop and I’ll keep going until I no longer have hair, then I’ll just come for the beard trim.

Very hipster place that is good for a quick cut. Walk in or appointments. 6 chairs working and they all went pretty quick. Prices are as expected for the service you get. Fast and friendly. The only improvement is the appointment vs. walk in. They have 2 systems and it seems a little weird for folks that dont know to take a number. They might improve that a bit.

Nice location in the heart of downtown Bremerton. Walk in is always welcome. If you have a preferred barber you can make a reservation. Open on Sunday as well so the convenience factor is very high. Pricing is competitive and the quality of the cuts keeps me coming back.

Wonderful barbershop, the stylists are amazing, the climate of the shop is superb, can drink and wait after prove of being 21 or older but damn this place is amazing. Never would have known if not for my friend but will defiently go any time I need a hair cut or if anyone needs a recommendation I tell them to go here!

Be sure to call ahead. Waited over 2 hours! At that point maybe a shop should be willing to make walk in reservations or turn people away. At least give customers a timeline. Quality hair cuts is the only reason to go.

I happened to walk in during a lull, so had no problem getting right in to a chair for a haircut. Hannah was able to picture what I wanted better than I could, and she gave me the best cut I have had in years. Great vibe, easy parking near the shop, friendly staff, and you can get a beer while you’re waiting. Alright, For the record I am exceedingly picky when it comes to getting my beard trimmed. Walking into Uptown Barbershop I was pleasantly releived to see actual barbering taking place. The atmosphere is busy, but genuinely hospitable. Me and my wife were greeted upon entry and asked if we had an appointment. Which I didnt and took a number as directed.Hope, the barber, was super. She was engaging in conversation, attentive to what I asked for, and repeated back what she perceived I said. She then made recommendations that would enhance my beard profile based on growth patterning and what was there. I explained that I had just returned from Utah, which is very dry, and that my beard even with daily oil and balm had become dry and brittle.I walked out with a very happy wife looking forward to running her fingers through my beard again after the full service treatment I had today (7/20/2018).Thank you Uptown Barber and Hope for a wonderful experienceAdam

Called and asked about walk ins, and their prior experience with African American Hair, to get my hair cut for engagement photos. They said yes to walk ins, and that they had several people open with experience. Was greeted with highly promising and friendly staff, but when sat down to be cut, the staff member was not equipped with the skills and training necessary to do a basic fade on my hair. Despite her best efforts to work with me and please me, at the end of the day, the job was not done properly and Id reccomended another barber shop. *edit for the owner comment* I did ask and voice concerns 3 seperate times, as of which afterward, I decided to take my leave. Hence, why i said despite the effort to work with me and please me. Please read carefully when responding to an already upset customer. I do appreciate the attempt to make to make things better and thank you for responding, as it shows concern and care for the customers and appreciate the offer to fix the cut free of charge, however, due to the quality off the cut i received and embarrassing experience i was left with afterward for engagement photos, i will be going elsewhere.

My husbands hair always looks great here, but I wouldnt say its worth $25 plus an incredibly long wait to get his hair cut every two weeks. You really have to plan your whole day around a haircut. Why do that when other local barbers can offer a better price, less of a wait, friendly service, and the same hair cut.

Great haircut if you can actually get into a barbers seat. Cool atmosphere, nice people, and they have given me free beer in the past. But, their reservation system is terrible. They have a reservation system but dont honor it like they should. Every time I have been there, I have had to wait 20-30 minutes at least while they finish on someone else before I can get into a seat. What is the point of the reservation system? Seems like it needs some work. If you have a couple of hours to kill in a waiting chair and need a haircut, then by all means come here.

A no nonsense shop with down to earth people. They are normally busy but you can call in and make an appointment same day and avoid the lines. But even if you walk in and find a line, it is well worth the weight.

Just went in for a haircut, arriving 45 min before closing time, only to be told they weren’t accepting any more customers. There were 3 people cutting hair and only 2 people waiting. The lady explained they usually stop taking people around 6:30 (half hour before closing) depending on how busy they are. I guess that means they were absolutely “slammed” with 5 people in their shop, or they just weren’t interested in serving any more people. I hear there’s a SuperCuts nearby...

Been coming here for 3 years. Id continue but I have to move. Thats beyond the point, these guys are awesome. Its a nice barbershop thats worth the visit every time. They started carrying beer to enjoy during your haircut. Nothing beats a hot lather shave at the end of a high quality haircut in a really cool chair. This place embodies the classic barbershop that I love.

Dont bother with this place unless you pass as male. Theyre weirdly standoffish towards non-male customers, even if you have a standard short hairstyle appropriate for a barbershop. However, in my experience while passing as male, theyre friendly and competent, my most recent haircut is from this place and is my favorite haircut so far this year. So, they get an extra star for that.They lose three stars for their weird male bias though.

Great old school barbershop whose staff is anything but old but all are adept with shears, sissors and a blade and take time to to give the perfect cut from high and tight to manicured beard trim with shave and hot towels. The best !!

Wonderful fifties barber chairs, with a nice period feel while being clean and professional. $17 military and $20 for the rest. Might sound steep for a barbershop, but you get what you pay for and by people that know how to cut mens hair, not someone just out of beauty school.

The best haircuts in the area by far. Ive gone to chain salons for my whole life and if I can I will always come here from now on. The Barbers take their time and always ask you exactly what you want, and even will ask you to clarify if they dont completely understand. The ambiance is great, the music is rockin, and they even sell beer! Beware: there can be very long lines! Seriously. Even with a long wait I come here because of the extra time and care they show.

Here for a month on business and stopped in to get a cut. Youll probably have to wait, but it is worth it. The people are fun and its very relaxing. They were playing Metallica backed by Eminem while I was there which made my day. It didnt feel like a place where barbers crank through customers or a place theyre trying too hard. Cut was great and finished with a straight edge. Just wish I lived nearby. This would be my go to place.

I have never had a bad haircut here, everyone is top notch. It gets busy, yeah, but thats because its quality work.

Friendly atmosphere, beers to drink, friendly barbers. Theres usually a 15-20 minute wait for walkins, even with 4-5 barbers. But the wait has always been worth it in my experience. Never had a bad cut, and each barber really takes their time and ensures youre lookin sharp!

Loud, fun, funky, friendly, maybe uncomfortable for old farts unless young at heart. They work hard to give good haircuts and seem to always be busy.
