TL;DR: This is the shop you want for your German car. I will be bringing my German car here for all of its maintenance from now on.I brought my new-to-me car to them for inspection and shakedown, and also to get all of my periodic maintenance performed. They were thorough, timely, courteous, and at a much lower price point than I imagined. They were informed, insightful, and kept me apprised every step of the way.If thats not enough, just take a look at the cars they are working on in the shop. There were a handful of owners cherished auto-babies in the bays. It is my experience that, if you see a bunch cared-for, high-end cars in the shop bays, that is a excellent independent shop. Helmuts just reinforces that experience.

Im so sad to write this review but at the same time I cant believe how passive Helmuts team was after I fell on their property. I took my car in for a check up to see what repairs needed to be done before I head out of town and everything went well until my departure from the shop lead me to rushing my yorkie to the VCA animal hospital in Silverdale. As I was leaving the repair shop I tripped over a water hose that was left at the back door entrance/exit. Steve was preparing to pour coolant into my car when I fell. When I saw him come around the vehicle where I was laying, I thought he was coming to check on me and help me off the ground, instead he kicked the hose out the way, asked what happened I told him that I tripped on that hose and landed on my dog and he walked away. Seriously I thought it was a joke, not happening. What happened next hurt more than the fall, he never came back to check on me as I was laying on the ground, no one did. I honestly couldnt believe it. My dog was bleeding, Im on the ground and not once did I get hey are you ok?, Is your dog ok? The only time he and the lady in the front showed concerned is when another car had to get out and my car was blocking his. I swear I cant make this up, I wouldnt want to make this up about Helmuts, I truly liked the work that they do and did on my car but when I fell and no concern was shown, I felt otherwise. My heart was broken because no one helped, no one showed concern other than the lady on the phone at the animal hospital who I was explaining what just happened to my dog. All I got was that they were busy and had customers and that they were sorry, I just couldnt say anything, I was just in shock and hurt. All I wanted to do was leave and get my dog to the vet ASAP. Sadly I will not be returning to Helmuts again, this experience was an eye opener.

The absolute BEST mechanic in town. Ive been having places trying to take my money and sell me things I didnt need, and thank goodness I came to Helmut. I took my Subaru here previously (before I sold it), and its been honest, reliable, affordable, and professional. They are REAL people, doing HONEST work. I would recommend to anyone to come here. Im now bringing my Lexus here before I move across the country, and they informed me of some false selling and lying a previous mechanic was doing to me, and I nearly was out 2300$ because of it. Helmut has been a LIFESAVER for me, they are so popular and busy because they are the BEST in the entire area. I have never been to a better mechanic. I would recommend to anyone who needs to know whats ACTUALLY wrong with their car. There is no up-selling of parts, or labor, everything is fair and true. They explain everything thats wrong in detail and will even show you if you need them to, so you can understand better whats wrong on your car. They warn you ahead of time what may need to be done in the future, and let you know if its something you dont need to buy right then. This is important because so many shops will claim a BRAND new part is damaged/needing repairs. This place is honest, reliable, and the best around. Please come to Helmuts if youre looking for a good mechanic, that you can actually trust. Im going to miss them, I wish they had a shop in Indiana. I am so thankful theyre here for me, and I was able to have them recommended by a close friend.

I love Helmuts. 3/10/21 I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and my check engine light came on and the engine started to sputter real bad. Went to a zone store to have the code read. It showed an issue with piston 6 and they told me it is almost always spark plugs. They did not have what I wanted NGL plugs so they pushed and sold me on some bosch plugs. Spark plugs are super easy so I got started and the first plug I pulled out had oil on it. I knew it was looking bad and I couldnt physically fix what was needed. I called Helmuts and spoke to Mike. It is our only vehicle, and Mike came to the rescue for us. I took it into the shop slowly the next day. They were slammed. But Mike told me that any available time his mechanics had they would work on our truck. And they are closed on weekends so I was really worried that we would have to get a rental car if it wasnt done by Tuesday the next week. Through the process Mike calls and tells me what issues he finds and his recommendations for them. He gave me great prices better than the cost of the parts alone at the do-it-yourself store and today Monday 3/15/21 he calls me to tell me the truck is ready by 2pm. The parts I wanted he found and it was not nearly as pricey as other places Ive seen. I got piston #6 engine coil-valve cover gaskets- and my NGL spark plugs. This is the 2nd time Ive gone here and as long as they are around I will continue to bring any vehicle I own in to have them work on it. Thank you Helmuts and thank you Mike.

This shop is so knowledgeable... when other repair businesses cant fix a car and need assistance... this is the place they call! So if you want it repaired right the first time... GO HERE!!

I wont take my Benz CLK 320 anywhere else. The mechanics are superb, knowledgeable and honest. You cant ask for anything more in auto repairs. I have been going to Helmuts for several years now and I have never been disappointed. They are patient and accommodating when I ask a bunch of questions. They thoroughly explain what is wrong and what is needed not just your current problem, but possible future problems. They prioritize my repairs for the car and my safety. They are great with being able to work around my crazy work schedule. They are timely and efficient. I could go on and on, I love going to Helmuts for my car needs no matter how big or how small I trust them to get the job done right.

My 2012 Tiguan didnt feel safe to drive. I took it to 2 different VW dealerships who charged me a total of about $2k combined. But the problem was never fixed. My niece, who takes her cars to Helmuts, got upset because she had been telling me to take it to Helmuts. At first I didnt want too bec its across the bridge and a long drive. Finally, I did. And when I got there, the technician just mentioned the potential issues and gave me a guesstimate. When I picked up the car not only was the bill LOWER than the guesstimate but they finally fixed the problem! If I came here first, I couldve saved myself $1700. Now I learned my lesson and will make the drive because its worth it! Will only be coming here from now on. Thank you!

I have been taking my Porsche here for years, and the service provided is exceptional. They work in a timely manner and offer better than fair prices! Steve knows his stuff. My 73 450SL has 325,000 miles on it, and it needs some TLC from time to time. Prices area fair, and theyre an honest garage. I wouldnt take my baby anywhere else.

This is one of the few independent shops that I trust with my vehicles. I first brought in an old 84 Porsche 944 for the normal timing belt /water pump replacement. The work was done quickly and efficiently and the quoted price is what the final bill came to be. I now have a newer Porsche and will be bringing it here for all of its work

Needed the notorious fuel pump relay switch. No one had it, and didnt want to pay to have one overnighted. Then I remembered Helmuts in Bremerton! I called, he said hed check w/his warehouse, called back within 2 minutes and said Yep, Ill have it here around 1:30 - AWESOME! Saved me a trip to Bellevue and/or expedited shipping!

Worked on my car and it wasnt even a German car but it was foreign. Assessed the issue without even touching the car, knew what the problem was, pricing was cheap, conveniently located next to rental place budget, so I wasnt stuck looking for a ride !!
