Cant wait to hang up in your face. Not very friendly at all. Dont even mention owning a pet.
The management is a joke dont bother wasting your money with these people. Angela in the office is always so nasty to talk to and so is her sister . The family is careless the 2 times I called about appliances that do not work in my apartment nothing ever gets done about it. These people are quick to take your money but never want to do there job .
Not customer friendly. Very rude. Not helpful. Definitely would not pick this management to help you find an apartment. You’re better off finding a place on your own.
I am currently renting from JFA Management in Branford and have had nothing but a pleasant experience. The lease signing was easy and straightforward, everyone I worked with was extremely nice and helpful, and the apartment is beautiful and well maintained. I highly recommend.
Management is very rude. Very unprofessional and disrespectful people. Everytime I call the office I get greeted with Angelas smart mouth, rude comments and nasty attitude. The family loves threatening and harassing tenants . If theres a problem with your apartment or needs maintenance it will never get done. These people are quick to take your money but slow to actually do there jobs. CHEAP CHEAP AND CHEAP . If you want to be ripped off by connecticuts best slumlords then this is your place.
I have lived at 3 different JFA complex over the years and currently waiting for a vacancy to move into! I have also worked for this wonderful family and was taught the Property Management business!!Awesome family and very clean, updated, well maintained complex’s around the Shoreline!!
I am writing again this time with an updated review. I have been having issues and management reached out and is helping me with concerning issues. Thank you JFA management for helping in times like these.
I signed my lease in Feb 2020 and left early because I found a house. They charge $1950 as a early termination fee, which is crazy but so is that family. I agree and pay that money and then I go out of my way to clean and patch up any holes in the walls and sand the walls down and they send me my deposit back with minus $550. See the photo I attached. I want everyone to see what they are into before they rent with them. Ive already put in motion with my lawyer so they hear from me soon.Update 1/10/21: less than 24 hours after placing my review on here I was harassed by the owners daughter for leaving the review and she told me that my one star doesn’t affect her business since they own over 4000 units. I’m sure if it didn’t affect her she wouldn’t have called me. But be prepared to be harassed by them and taken advantage of when you stay at there place and leave a review in which it is entirely my opinion but I guess they don’t know the rules in America about freedom of speech. Have fun!Update 1/18/21: still getting harassed via Facebook messenger by people related to JFA management. Had this one guy name Mark Mazzatini harassing me on there. Apparently my opinion of my experience shouldn’t be said. It’s ok. Just adding to this list with the lawyers.
They lady I spoke to was soooo rude. Never again!
I moved into Branford 6 years ago into an apartment that was management by JFA Management. I was very happy living there but my finances changed unexpectedly and JFA Management was more than accommodating in helping me find another apartment within my current means. I was able to obtain one that was right near Green that was also managed by JFA Management. In the past 6 years I have been very happy with their management services. Angela, Frankie, Antoinette, Alex, Joanne, Heidi & the rest of the staff were always very courteous and accommodating and quick to respond. I would have stayed forever but due to family issues, I had to move. I would definitely recommend this company as they are very professional and keep the apartments very well maintained and cleaned both inside and out.
I loved living in a complex managed by JFA. I lived here for a year and never had any issues. They were extremely accessible if there were apartment concerns and made it very easy to pay rent. It was a great environment and very safe. I highly recommend any of their properties!
Take your hard earned money and rent from somewhere else. Rude, rude and rude!
As others have mentioned, the person I worked with was very friendly. However, their business sense is terrible. I signed a lease in January 2019 for a May 1st move in date. Gave them over a $2,000 deposit, called all utility companies to have services put in my name as of May 1 and figured all was set. Five days before my scheduled move, the company called me to say they made a mistake on the lease and need to charge me an extra $150 a month! They would not honor the lease and I requested my deposit back. I then had to call utilities again to cancel as well as insurance company. I could’ve gotten a lawyer but figured if they wouldn’t honor the lease then probably wouldn’t fix things either. I don’t do business like that!! Be aware if you rent from this company!
I have lived in many places in my day. Youd be better off homeless than to rent from this company. The only good reviews are from the company themselves (hence why any reviews more than 1 star have 0 likes). What a joke. Most unprofessional people I have ever met from the day laborers they hire to do maintenance all the way to the owners themselves
In regards to Michelle Wagner review as an agent for JFA management Michelle Wagner was given an appointment to view our properties after viewing them she decided to put a hold on one of the apartments that she was interested in. Our policy at Jfa management is in order to take any apartment off the market and not show anyone the apartment we request a $500 nonrefundable hold deposit which is different from the security deposit. All applicants are aware of the policy and the form that is signed also states the policy. Michelle Wagner saw the apartment And being that she was a past tenant we waived the application fee and waived the application process. Michele came in three days after seeing the apartments and signed a paper stating it was a non-refundable apartment hold deposit. The apartment was held for her and was all set for her move in date of Feb 8 which was already something we worked with her as we move in tenants only the first and 15 of each month.Three days prior to the move-in date I received a call from Michelle Wagner that she was unable to rent the apartment and could not move in any longer. She contacted our office a week later requesting the nonrefundable deposit to be given back to her. Weinformed her our about our policies but told her that if she wants to move into any of JFA apartments in the near future we would honor the $500 that was given to us.
I had rented an apartment through JFA Management and their staff is terrible. Angela, who is a manager for JFA, is rude and careless when she is talking to tenants. Laurie, who is a manager at The Flats where I lived, is clueless and helpless when it comes to any problem solving. The poor management alone is a reason to not rent from this company. They are also insanely expensive for the poor quality equipment and appliances that they use in their apartments.
Do not give them a deposit to hold a rental. If you decide not to take the apartment under any circumstances they keep the money. It is unfair that they have this policy. Move somewhere where they value the tenants and their money. At times things occur and you might need to make a decision to back out to avoid a problem paying the rent. Not an understanding management company.
I have lived at two of the JFA Management properties in over the years of me renting with them. They are very friendly, kind, and helpful people. I have never had a bad encounter with any of the owners or the employees with there company. As far as rent going up it is normal as property taxes go up so it is not there fault they need to raise rent every year. I would definitely recommend renting from them. They work with you with your security deposit. Sometimes there are move in specials. I love living in there rentals. Nothing but good things.
I have been involved with JFA in my life for not to long. I rented an apartment at the mews for a while before i bought a house. I loved it so much, i wish i can move back. I am so glad to see that JFA is growing and continuing to do so good. I love the vigliotti family and i adore how everyone is so involved and loved by eachother. Good luck to the future JFA Keep growing!!!
My parents have had a wonderful renting experience through JFA management! Highly recommend!
Hands down best apartment ive ever been to, Management is so helpful, amazing amenities, perfect parking, and awesome neighbors. Id recommend everyone to stay here for a great experience.
I have to agree with the other reviews. The lease agent is very kind, however thats it.Constant issues with management not fixing things and sometimes not responding at all. Still dont have a working fire alarm, after months of calling, ceiling light that fell down, and animals in the walls where there are openings into the interior of the structure.Once, I asked to have my AC looked at as it was making cracking sounds, similar to that of when you create a static shock. So they said they would replace it. Next day after they did, it started making the same noise. Guess what? The serial number that I wrote down before hand what the same as the new one. I called them out of it and now I have a brand new HVAC. Would have been cheaper to actually fix it, huh guys?Lastly, rent spiked every year I was there. No reasons at all. Just bad news all around.o would avoid any JFA managed establishment.
JFA is terrible. Do not rent from this company. They are very rude and low class. Any maintenance problems or health concerns (mold), they do not come out to fix or care about your situation. They are very money hungry and I do not understand how or why they are still a business. Take your money elsewhere.
Only can speak of my own experience...so far, so great! Surprised by other reviews being so negative. I mean Im happy with the apartment. No maintenance issues currently with my place. Thought they did a good job with snow removal and this crazy winter and the tornado clean up. And as far as I know they did a credit and criminal check before leasing to me...told me any criminal was a no-go (not that I was worried, lol!)so not sure what that one reviewer was talking about. Glad to know they do that actually.
Complete disappointment. Not only do they rent apartments that should NOT be rented to people they are also rude, nasty people that are only money hungry. They will rent apartments where the floor is literally rotting beneath your feet, they replace nothing what so ever, their idea of upgrading something is a fresh coat of paint on the tub, sink or kitchen cabinets then rent it to you. The paint chips off, has scratched me, gotten caught under my nails and oh yes my razor too. No matter who you call they act like you are bothering them. Let alone have a real maintenance issue. The lady that handles their maintenance calls is a real peach with her slick remarks and nasty attitude. Apparently its very difficult to handle some phone calls and have to call someone else to do the work. Just overall a horrible company to rent from no matter what complex they put you in.
The management try to be high class but treat tenants and apts as low class. They are very rude. DONT move here
The location of the Branford apartments is excellent, right on Main Street. However, my overall experience with this company was very poor. The apartment building itself is in need of a serious rehab, the front door locking mechanism remained broken for multiple months during my residence there, which is a significant safety issue. I made multiple phone calls regarding this problem and it was to no avail. It was completely disregarded. The hallways and foyer area used to receive cleaning services during my first two years of living there, however that stopped and I have noticed the area has become dirty and malodorous. The apartment corridors smell of cigarette smoke. There are clumps of cigarette butts speckling the front door porch area and parking lot on a regular basis. My apartment had continuous leaks in the ceiling outside my bathroom, and I had multiple problems with my refrigerator, stove, and sliding door. In the beginning of my residence at the apartment, I noticed that the air conditioner/heating system was not working properly, and it took much advocacy and frustration on my part to get the company to fix it. In addition, the laundry room was not operating efficiently, with about 50% or more of the machines not working at all. Again, I made multiple phone calls and did not receive ANY response. Having access to laundry facilities is not a luxury. If there are not machines in individual apartment units, then residents should have access to a paid laundry facility area that is in working condition.I understand that things break, and appliances at times can have issues, but I would also like to express my profound disappointment with the customer service response of this company. I must say that I have had nothing but a great experience working with the leasing agent at JFA. She is competent, professional, and kind. However, almost every time I attempted to communicate with the JFA office staff, I was quickly interrupted, or met with a rude and uncaring response. It is shocking that company employees are able to consistently operate in this manner. I am sharing the details of my experience in an attempt to spare future renters from going through a similar trajectory.
Very rude, unhelpful management. They dont solve any of your problems. Called about change machine in laundry room not working and the lady is rude and says how the laundry machines are bad and are like throwing away your money anyway. I agreed they are always broken down and she gets defensive saying they are a luxury and could be taken away so no one can do laundry and laughs. Obviously, it is a selling point and not a luxury. Instead of getting someone to fix a problem, you get rude, indifferent behavior.
I didnt write this review. My Facebook page and God knows what else got hacked.
Consistently rude and unhelpful.
Utterly Outstanding!
One word....Slumlord
