I have lived at this property previously. My experience with Powell Realty owner and staff has been nothing more than professional, respectful and helpful. I moved out of town and when i returned, I came back here and they welcomed me back with open arms. I am now a current tenant. The Leasing Agent that I worked with during my current lease is very professional, respectful, helpful and responsive. I told the leasing agent what i was looking for and she was very attentive. She showed me a unit based on what i told her and I moved in and I am very pleased with it. IF at any time there may have been an issue early on, it was attended to in a timely manner. I have had a very positive experience with a short-term furnished rental I acquired through Powell Realty. The unit was exactly as pictured and, throughout my one month stay, I only had one issue with the apartment which was dealt with quickly and professionally. I would be happy to rent from them again and to recommend them to others.

Talked today to one of the owners of Powell Realty. She was a very rude, loud woman, do not know her name. I was asking when I will receive the refund check. Its been 3 weeks. We received a confirmation of acceptance of the cancellation and the amount of money that we suppose to receive. However after 3 weeks I started worrying. I will initiate a complain with Board of Realtors if I do not hear from her by tomorrow. After 3 weeks I provided a copy of a cashed check to Powell Realty that showed that money had been sitting in their account for 3 weeks!!! It proved that they lied, telling me that bank takes time to cash it. Very dishonest people. Find a more honest Real Estate Agency. The amount was $5500.

My husband and I are currently in the process of selling our current house and buying in a different area. Cody told us exactly what we needed to do in order to sell our house and get it ready and gave us all the information and contacts we needed to accomplish our list of things to do. He was able to quickly set up multiple appointments at houses for us to go see and made sure that all of our questions were answered and expectations were met throughout the process. Our new house will be the second purchase through Cody at Powell Realty and we will continue to work with him in the future!

When we built our new home. I wasnt sure if a realtor was necessary, but a friend referred us to Cody and said he was able to help save money when he went through the process. So glad we listened!Cody was able to tell us which design features were worthwhile with the builder and which could be easily done later, which was very helpful.Even more helpful, Cody helped us navigate through a few issues towards the end of construction, and then found an error at closing that put almost $1000 back in our pocket!Hes very knowledgeable and well be recommending him to anyone we know whos looking for a home!

Lake Parsons is an incredible property. The property is well kept and everyone is friendly EXCEPT Janice Powell. My wife and I have lived her for several months at the request of her elderly mother who lives in the same community. We signed our lease with the owner on August 30, 2018. On September 2nd and beyond we have lived under the threat of eviction because I was told by the owner and the Assistant Property Manager that the background check run by the owner came back okay, but the background check run by the HOA AFTER our lease was signed came back with an negative outcome. The owner and Assistant Property Manager came to our home on a Sunday asking what happened. I gladly told them what happened and that it would be a non-issue in the end. (Which it did.) However, they told me that I lied on the application and that was a convicted felon. (0 convictions to this day.) They also demanded that I have my attorney write a letter and that I report to them the outcome every time there was a hearing so the HOA could meet and decide if my wife and I could remain as tenants. When I gladly did, even though legally I didn’t have to, they told me that the information wasn’t acceptable and that they would forward my file to the attorney for eviction and I would be responsible for all fees. I have asked for and been promised to be given a copy of both background checks so I could see what it says since September 2018. On May 30, 2019 I was told that I wouldn’t get a copy of the background checks because they still “let me” move in. I was told by the owner that the background check was destroyed once she approved it. My neighbors have been told that I’m a criminal. They were even told by Janice Powell that if there is any disturbance that they see or hear from me just call the Sheriffs Office immediately. Twice they were called because of my dogs barking too loud and for my TV being too loud. And was called the next morning and told if the HCSO is called again we’ll be evicted. Mind you the deputies never came in our home once they realized that we were literally asleep and everything was okay. My car was towed with no warning because I was parked over the line next to my wife’s car and even though I have a valid decal. They ever questioned if I lied about my employment because I’m at home during the day sometimes, working from home. If you are African American you may want to reconsider living here. Seriously. It’s not worth the hassle.

Instead of harassing your potential clients and calling them fickle after not turning in their applications after one day, perhaps try being more friendly and understanding that life happens. I will definitely be telling anyone looking for a place to stay far away from this company
