One of our tubes had a bad hole and had to be blown up 2x on the river. And they forgot to give us life vests for the raft, which was also not a comfortable craft.

Rented a car trailer and had a great experience, everyone was helpful and very nice. They made sure everything was functioning before I left. Trailer was great to use, I was able to winch my car into it with no issues. Straightforward, easy transaction. Will definitely rent from them again.

Attempted to rent a Lund boat for labor day. Called four days ahead to reserve boat for two days and told them I would pick it up at 11 on Saturday. When I arrived to pick it up, he informed me that I would have to have it back by 7am on 2nd day or I would be charged another day, despite me picking it up at 11. After a bit of back and forth, he said he would cut me a deal and only charge me half day if I brought it back by 11. I reluctantly agreed because we had planned to do fishing over labor day. When I first saw the boat and trailer, it looked like something they pulled from a salvage yard, all scratched and beaten up. The trailer is too wide for the boat, the bumpers on either side do not rest on the sides of boat, so they had it held in place on the center of trailer with a beaten up ratchet strap. When we hooked up trailer lights, one of prongs was broken, so I didnt have a right turn signal. They said if I got pulled over, I could just tell cops, it was a rental! After looking over boat more, I noticed one of the fishing rod holders was broken. One of the employees went to find a bolt to fix it and never came back. So, after about 45 minutes of dealing with complete incompetence, I exploded and demanded my money back. After having a few choice words with the owner, they refunded my money and I left without the boat. They didnt inform me of the return policy when I made the reservation, tried to charge me $400 for a beat up unsafe rental, and completely wasted my time. Ive never seen such unprofessionalism and I will never go back or recommend them to any of my friends.

Rented 2 newish ATV’s for 2 adults and 2 teenagers for a day in November 2017. Great guys, helpful, friendly and very safety-aware. Equipment was great, safety and recovery gear came with, prices quite reasonable and lots of help offered with local trails. Thoroughly recommend these folks for all sorts of summer and winter equipment! We will be back. Thanks Jeb & Joe!

Do not rent from this company. We showed up at 8am right when the dirt bikes should have been on the trailer and ready for check out. We waited an hour and a half for them to get another dirt bike ready. When we asked an employee for help she literally ran away from us. I tracked her down and asked for help again thinking she was busy and sent be to another employee who had no idea what was going on.After that whole deal we got our dirt bikes and had a great day on the mountain. However when we went to return the bikes at 4:45pm no one came out to check the bikes for damages. Thankfully we took photos of all the scratches on the bikes we rented just in case they tried to claim anything. The next day we get a call at 4:45pm saying a piece was broken for 6 times it’s cost to replace. Do not rent from these guys This is a scam.

We rented bikes from this company, we came first thing in the morning upon opening 7am and didn’t have the bikes ready until an hour and a half later. The employees avoided us and hadn’t a single clue on what was going on. Employees were frequently on their phones and avoiding us.We had a great time on the trails however upon returning the bikes no one came to help us.... so when we returned the bikes in good condition we took insurance photos to make sure we would be in the clear of fraudulent claims.Sure enough 24 hours later the company is claiming a 700$ service fee for repair of the perfect condition bikes.Do not go here. This business is a scam.

It is supposed to be scratched up and smell like worm dirt. If you want to cruise the Bleach Blonde Bim around rent a 36 Party Barge and hire half a dozen Mariachis to set the mood. If you want to go fishing, rent the Lund, or and of the drift or power boats that BIG BOYS TOYS offers. Yes Dude, worms are gnarly and fish smell...........fishy, like that Bim. Kevin and his Krewe are sharp, reasonable and courteous. They offer 24 hour drops and very, very fair prices. If you need rentals by the 1/2 or 1/4 hour then Bozeman likely aint your town Kenneth. Try Time Square, or Bangkok. If you need quality outdoor equipment, well suited to the rugged Montana outdoor experience, then go to BIG BOYS TOYS in Bozeman every time, I know I will. Had an amazing experience renting a trailer from these guys. Not only were they incredibly helpful loading up in pouring rain, they were SO cheerful and courteous the entire time! They went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend.P.S. they also let us pet their very handsome dog 😁

Right while we were in the middle of a snowstorm, our snowblower decided not to start. I called and spoke to a very friendly man named Joe who said that they could pick it up that same day (for a very small fee), repair it (and let us know before any major repairs were needed/done), and deliver it back. We had our fingers crossed itd be same day turn around but considering it was already late morning we figured probably next day - at best. They picked it up at 1 (again, in a snowstorm, the roads were terrible), repaired it, and dropped it off at 5:30. Outstanding customer service and communication. Very reasonable price. We will definitely be using them for any future needs!

Rented a uhaul and was very happy with it

Do not rent from them! We had a great time riding in Montana. The rental company was great, until we returned the sleds and they claimed we had done $500 worth of damage on one machine. We rented three sleds. The “damage” they claim was on the snowmobile track. We removed a single 1inch by 1inch piece of the snowmobile track paddle. When we rented the sled it had two damaged paddles, already. It’s normal wear and tear on the machine. The track is the part of the sled that gets the most use throughout the season. They claimed we had done all the damage. The riders all season before us could’ve of helped in the deterioration of the track and we were stuck paying for it. Very disappointed! Do not rent from these people.

The mechanics here are great! Super friendly and knowledgeable people. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for parts/information to fix their own snowmobile or get a sled fixed for a better rate than summit or Polaris.

Big Boys Toys worked to find me a truck on one of the busiest moving weekends of the season. They were friendly and helpful. Joe loaned me an employee to deliver my truck to my storage as I was by myself from out of state. I had flown in from TX and had limited time to move before returning to work. A very big thank you to Big Boys Toys. Im a happy camper.

My husband and sons recently rented dirt bikes, trailer and gear during our visit to the Bozeman area, and could not have been more pleased with the service and equipment we received. The team at BBT did a thorough walk through of each bike prior to leaving the store and everyone was aware of what damages, if incurred, would cost. Options were given for places to go, and they had a wonderful day of trail riding. Upon return, they did not nickel and dime us for anything. Joe and staff did a wonderful job, and we highly recommend them!

Rented mower for 2 days told them I was paying cash, hit my acct for charges the day BEFORE, got mower went 12 feet- clogged NO exit for grass. No side discharge NO bag provided. Called, after 3 calls-said come back and get attachment. Went back, no one available to help me.WASTED 3hrs of my time driving/unloading/reloading and 6 trips of my gas. Lawn still needs mowing. NICE

I rented a drift boat for a family fishing trip on the Madison. As a former drift boat owner I was completely happy with the boat we rented. It does not have much dry storage and the trailer seemed to tow a little rough but otherwise it was well worth the $99 day rental.

Late and slow. If you want to waste half the day this is the place for you.

The crew and owner over at BBT are amazing. We have rented trailers in the past from them and everyone was so friendly and helpful. That is especially true when I had a last minute situation come up and didn’t need their c5 car trailer. I was expecting to eat a large fee but they were able to work with me as they figured the could still get it rented and got me out of my rental. I appreciate everyone here and we will certainly be back in the near future! If you are considering any other rental shop in the Bozeman area don’t! Come here instead you won’t find a better rental place in town!

Our group rented snowmobiles from these guys and they were great. Gave us all the info we needed on the sleds and gave us great guidance on where to ride, gear to take, etc. Would highly recommend renting from them.

We rented 3 snowmobiles for the day for my father, mother, and sister. We were extremely careful with the rentals and owning a snowmobile myself made sure to take each one of the trailer myself. We went riding the deep powder and only ever tipped the snowmobiles over in the snow over 3-4 feet deep. Upon returning the snowmobiles they said nothing. THEN a day later we receive a call that there was damage on the snowmobiles and that we owed $700 for a snowmobile that had been tipped over on the pavement and badly scratched as well as bent handlebars (which the staff noted was bent before renting to us). We absolutely had no part in the damage done to the snowmobile and went to the shop to speak with the manager. Upon speaking with him we still had to pay $150 for doing absolutely no damage to the snowmobiles. I believe these people rent items and fake damage for more money. Would not recommend unless you want a bill for $700 worth of damage that you did not do.

I had a chainsaw repaired got it back and it wasnt fixed called them they took care of the problem but when I went to use it the next day it still doesnt work. They charged way to much also! Now have to take it somewhere else and pay again!

I rented a U-Haul truck and trailer from Phoenix and dropped it off at this location after I was finished with it.The staff (Joe was on shift) do an amazing job of ensuring the customers are taken care of. I had a couple of problems with the trailer I was towing and Joe was able to take of the situation on the spot.Thanks again for the great customer service! Really honest people. I rented some really nice tubes from them, one of which did not come with a valve cap. They said not to worry about it and gave me a new one.

Rented two bikes for the weekend. Both bikes had issues immediately after unloading them, one would not run and the other had both a clutch issue and was completely missing a rear brake. When we asked big boys toys about the issues they encouraged us to work on the bikes ourselves and when we returned them they said that we should have fixed the bikes ourselves and that the bikes are old bikes and are going to have issues. Very unprofessional, and after my father nearly had a bad wreck learning that he did not have a rear brake, big boys toys refused to offer an apology when I told them all I am looking for is an apology. If you are going to rent unsafe equipment its going to catch up to you in a small town like Bozeman. I will not only not be back but I will be spreading the word about my terrible experience.

People were nice. I rented a sleeping bag and the price was moderate and it was a good bag.

I had warranty work done on my mower and they said it is in perfect running order and the bearing is still squealing and they cant find it. Doesnt say much for their mechanics.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and DISHONEST MANAGERS. SHORT STORY: We rented a jet ski for the whole day, got 45 working minutes out of it while paying $400 including a QUESTIONABLE REPAIR.LONG STORY: On 8/11/2017 we walk into Big Boy’s office to rent a jet ski which we had reserved a while in advance. The office is packed with other customers waiting in no particular order and no staff insight.After finally being helped, we were sent outside to the jet-ski, which was dirty and looked heavily used.Jeb, the “Front-End Manager” gave us a rushed introduction while almost forgetting the most important thing of having the drain plug screwed in. Glad we asked, because we probably would have been charged for sinking the jet ski despite the lack of proper introduction for novice users.1.5h drive to Canyon Ferry Lake. As beginners, we carefully put the the jet-ski into the water at a boat ramp. We followed the instructions to swim the jet ski out into neck-deep water without starting. Not a technique we saw from other jet ski owners, but we wanted to be safe.Finally at 1pm we took the first round on the jet ski. After we got back from our first 15-minute ride on the lake we parked the jet ski at least 80ft from the shore and swam back to shore.After a break, we took a longer 30-minute cruise around the lake, but suddenly the jet-ski lost power and started stuttering. Mind you, we were in very deep water when the jet-ski malfunctioned and did not run over anything. We were about 400ft away from shore, but to not take any chances we swam the jet ski back to shore. A great workout included for free in the rental!I called their office immediately to inform them that something was not quite working right. Joe the “Service Manager” diagnoses the problem as a broken wear ring and adds that those break for half of the customers that rent jet-skis from them. A little bit confused that this part would break that easily, we swam the jet-ski another 500ft to the nearest boat ramp to avoid further damage and loaded it back onto the trailer.Back to Bozeman to Big Boy Toy’s office (1,5 hour car ride), in full hope that we would be reimbursed for our lost rental time.Back at the office, we talk to Jeb, who blamed us for breaking their jet ski by running over a stone, telling us we now have to pay for parts and repair. After pressing him that we did not mishandle the jet-ski, he said quote: ”He is nice because he will not charge us for the loss of rental income in the coming days, since he had to order the wear ring”. It is clearly our fault, that he does not have this part in his shop which breaks 50% of the time.After basically getting pushed out of the door while being referred to Joe the “Service Manager” who conveniently was not there at that point, but would give us a call later tonight, we left quite frustrated.After not getting a call the same day, I finally received a voicemail the next day, in which Joe informed me that the jet-ski is back in working order and that we owe them another $160 for the repair. Very interesting, since Jeb said the day before that they did not have the part in stock.Not understanding to be liable for what seems to be a wear & tear part and paying a full day of rental for 45 minutes of riding, I call Joe back. A 30-minute phone conversation follows in which Joe constantly tells me that I rode over a stone and broke his jet ski. Additionally, I screwed up his dinner plans with his girlfriend, since he had to stay longer and fix the jet-ski. Remember, this is coming from a “manager”. Furthermore, he schools me on personal responsibility and how other customers were totally fine paying for repairs like these. The fact that his jet skis break down 50% of the time and are maybe not properly maintained is obviously out of the question.Over a week after the “rental” I am still waiting for the repair bill, which Joe said he will email me, although I already have been charged on my credit card for it. A call from the owner which I requested has not happened either.

Even though we told them we might bring it back early, and did, they said after the fact that their policy is you say you are going to rent it for a certain time, if someone calls for the same item, he says sorry it is out.Then you bring it back he stops the rent from us but misses out on the rent from the other guy.So he is screwed but this way instead we got screwed.So you rent it for the time you say and you get charged for that time regardless if you brought it back early. I am sure that this is because we were not locals and we can not locate the contract.
