Since I moved here 16 years ago, I haven’t known reliable mail delivery. Missing packages, stolen gift cards, stolen magazines and the latest is that the ashes of our departed cat have been lost for months. The initial investigation shows falsifying of tracking g records but nothing is done. And the in person service is usually awful with the exception of a few good individuals. We just can’t have nice things!
In the past two years at least 7 packages that was supposed to come to my address was delivered to the wrong address. I have spent countless number of hours driving up to the Bowie post office in Laurel Bowie road to fix the problems. This has also cause a lot of anxiety and mental stress for me and my family. The latest one was when the USPS tracking number said that they delivered a package when when i checked my cameras I know that it was not delivered.I used to have regular mail misdelivered, but when i complained to my Congressman Steny Hoyer, USPS appointed a new Mail Carrier to service my route and that problem stopped. But now I have a new problem i.e. packages being misdelivered.
They need to put additional Drive up Drop Mail boxes. Last few times I went the box was overflowing with mail.
They have serious management issues at this location. On a regular basis, they deliver my mail to other businesses, deliver other businesses mail to me, my outgoing mail doesnt reach its destination and nobody cares. If my carrier is off or on vacation, I dont get mail for days at a time and they dont know where it is. Today I went to purchase stamps and they didnt have any to sell, they were locked in a safe. I understand why the postal system has failed its customers.
Even though this post office is a mile from my home, I will drive to Crofton rather than be waiting in line at such a miss-managed facility. Lived in Bowie over twenty years and it never changes but I guess they can now blame everything on Covid . Sad!
The people that work here can be very rude and unhelpful. They flat out refused to print a label for a small package and made use go home to create a mailing label before they would mail our package. They just dont want to do their job.

Ive been going to this post office for a little over 20 years. Its a shame because at one point in time, this was a great post office you could count on!Yesterday, I was helped by a great person who took time to help when I came to pick up a package and I did get what I needed, but it really didnt have to happen. Everyone in my households mail was on hold for a holiday weekend and no one put a hold mail request in!! We have a new mail carrier because our old reliable and faithful carrier recently retired. This new one needs a check in meeting or something.A few times in the past decade, my package or envelopes have been opened and resealed. I nor anyone in my family dont mail much of anything from here anymore because of that. Its really sad.I also watched someone try to put a box in the mail drop off slot inside, but it wouldnt budge. That thing just needs a little oil. There was also a time when that was not an issue!Like others have said, this place needs to be under investigation so that people can trust this post office again.
Im always very nervous when companies use USPS for last mile delivery. This post office routinely loses packages or claims items as delivered when they have been obviously stolen by postal employees. Ive got security cameras up all around my house, and yet their mail carriers always claim theyve delivered packages even though Ive got evidence to the contrary. The post master in at this location is complicit in the actions of his employees. I wish they would fire all the staff here and start over!
This post office is the absolute worse! Once again, they have lost another package of mine that was supposed to be at their facility. No one knows what happened to it. I will be pursuing this. I’ve never had such horrible experiences with a postal office such as this one. The absolute worse! Either someone is losing packages or STEALING them.
Their personnel’s working are very polite and knows what they are doing. They are fast and very responsible and respectful.

Well, after a visit to the post office and talking to the manager another registered certified envelope wasn’t delivered to my home. The mail carrier who rarely gets out of her vehicle didn’t leave an attempt to deliver notice. I suspect like the last time the postal manager will search for my letter, be unable to locate it, tell me I have a great postal carrier and he will call me after he talks to her. He didn’t keep his word last time and I suspect he won’t in the future. Then the postal carrier will arrive after my trip with the letter in hand after falsely claiming she left the green card notifying me of the attempted delivery. Thanks goodness for my daily email about upcoming mail! If not I wouldn’t have known my employer erroneously thought I had not responded to their inquiry.I will file a complaint! There needs to be some serious retraining and a change of management at the Laurel Bowie Road U. S. Postal Station! Where’s the icon for NO Stars Google!By the way, I must say the ladies and gentlemen working inside are helpful, polite, and do a great job!
Always polite and efficient when I’ve been there. Could use another clerk when line gets long. Would get a five but too often our postman gives us wrong mail because number is same but different street. We make sure our neighbors got theirs and can only guess they so same.
Wish I could give then zero stars! For the however many time this location can not seem to locate a package that was transferred to them and they are no help with finding it. I declare someone is taking items that get transferred there. This is completely ridiculous and I wish there were some way for me to tell shipping companies to stop transferring stuff to them, bc I see other residents are having the same continuous problems
Theyre opening your packages here. Tracking info posted Attempted Delivery on scheduled day of delivery. But I was in my home the whole day, no delivery was attempted. Went to this branch to pick it up the next day, discovered it had been opened. My mail guy is pretty consistent, so this may have happened inside the facility. Be aware!
Currently live on Moylan Dr. We constantly receive our neighbors mail at least once a week. Weve hand delivered mail, weve taken mail back and left mail out to be delivered to the correct address. The post office/20715 has told me each time it would be addressed and its getting worse. Weve been waiting for ski passes that were sent out in July and weve never received them. Im afraid to have anything delivered their any longer. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I moved to Gresham Court in 1993. For the first 10-12 years the service was very good. It has been in decline ever since, especially the last 5 years or so. Mail is lost, delivered to wrong address, etc. Service at counters is usually ok -- its the rest of the service that makes our postal system a joke nowadays. FIVE TIMES in the past year I have left the yellow card to have mail suspended while I was away, and ALL FIVE TIMES the mail was NOT held at post office -- it was crammed into my tiny mailbox, so of course documents and small packages were damaged. If I could give a rating of MINUS FIVE STARS, I would!!! I have complained many times, with no results at all. My next step is to visit the office of Postmaster General, downtown DC!!
The customer service was commendable, the lady at the counter was quite polite, knew what she was doing and maintained professionalism. In addition, there was barely any queue when I visited. Most customers seemed happy with the service they were getting too. Although, I cant attest to their professionalism with respect to handling packages, the customer service was very much okay.
Some sort of investigation needs to be done at this post office. I truly believe people are stealing packages. I was expecting a package that was to be delivered this past Saturday, said it was on the way. Stayed home all day to sign for the package. Never came and the tracking updated to a Deliver Exception, next attempt to be made on this past Sunday. Family was home all day and I get a notice that it was delivered in/at mailbox, but it required a signature!! The tracking shows a signature that makes no sense. I know that people have been complaining on Next Door for years about this location!!! Im sick of it and something must be done.
Hold Mail never works effectively. This post office either never starts the Hold Mail on the correct date, or never resumes the delivery on time.
I had a great experience over the phone just now when speaking with Joe May at this post office. He was extremely helpful. I currently have an important package that is missing and was slightly panicking. Joe assured me he would do his best to find the package and gave me some assurance that he had a pretty good idea where there may have been a mix-up. Hopefully my package will be delivered today! Came here for passport services. The man who does the passport process is highly disrespectful, rude, unaccommodating and very lazy. I had an appt. I asked for a supervisor and waited abt 20min and no one came to speak with me. I called the mitchellville post office and they accommodated me as a walk-in. The mitchellville location told me I can come at any time.I am really disappointed with his service and will be going to a different post office for all my future services. So highly annoyed with the laziness.
I cant even give a star, because star service it not what you get, the mail carriers from this branch is the WORST, they dont bring the mail on a daily bases and we are a business and when you ask this one carrier he just says nah you aint got no mail, like what is that kind of response. I have made several complaints and it has just fallen on deft ears.... someone needs to revamp this branch ASAP
Dropped a package off here today, only took 5 minutes. They had 3 counters open and very friendly, helpful and professional man named Arnold standing by the line asking anyone how he could help, handing out tape, labels, explaining the different rates, making sure everyone was ready so things would be quicker once they got to the counter.
My sister is there at this minute, filing a case. I got a Delivery Confirmation yesterday for 10 boxes and 10 tracking numbers. All saying it’s been delivered and signed for by a “C. Johnson” at 7pm. Not even one of those packages was delivered.My sister was the first one there this morning.She noticed 10 boxes packed on the side and 1 was opened . She also noticed both our names on it on it as well, while she waited. They had “sorry we missed you” tags underneath the boxes.When she gave them the tracking numbers, they insisted that’s it’s been delivered and signed for at her address. My sister then took pictures of the boxes and told them those 10 boxes lying there with the tags and one opened was ours and proceeded to show them her ID. They were very shocked and started running around making calls to the night manager about the VERY WEIRD and SUSPICIOUS occurrences.Two felony offenses were actually committed in this case: 1) False Signature 2) Opening Private Mail. So the matter needs to be documented and investigated further.My sister will be taking the boxes and conducting an inventory of the items after she’s done fillling forms, and reporting back to them about what’s missing.Shocking, ridiculous and disappointing. Thank God and thankful for my sister. If she hadn’t been there this morning, all 10 boxes would be lost forever. That would have been devastating as the combination value is over $2000.This branch needs to be investigated, “cleaned up” and improved immensely. Stop doing this to innocent people and do right by your customers. Karma isn’t worth anything that you get out of committing such dishonest acts.
If they ask for your number to give you a call back so they can look for your order, don’t expect a call back. Spoke to 3 different people who all said they would call me back and let me know if they could find my order and no one ever got back to me
All of the workers at the front counter are helpful when visit every Saturday.
I have had three packages get delayed and two get lost by this post office for reasons that are still unknown to me. Ive tracked packages through travel and they always just stop when they get to the Bowie post office. I have even spoken with multiple(2) post office employees and after being told that the office has received the packages they just dont know where they are, only for them to show up 5 days later or not at all.
This may be misdirected, but whom ever is delivering my mail is doing burn outs on my gravel road leaving ruts. I might just need to install a camera and sue for damages. Call wait times are well over 40 minutes too, so don’t expect to talk to anyone.
This place should be SHUT DOWN! Incompetent mail carriers and ABSOLUTELY no help from supervisors or management. This particular post office is a total waste of federal funds and tax payers money! SHUT IT DOWN or HIRE COMPETENT, EDUCATED MAIL CARRIERS, SUPERVISORS and MANAGEMENT!
It has been a week now and I am still waiting on a package they accepted Dec 13th and no one seems to no nothing. So 2 thoughts someone that works there stole it or they lost it.
This is just a weird place. There are individual employees who do try to do a good job, but nothing seems to happen fast; its like being in a slow-motion episode of the Twilight Zone. When you apply for a passport, the manager (?) keeps records BY HAND in a spiral-bound notebook, which is just strange. The self-service machine is frequently out of order, and (as someone else mentioned) the package drop-off bin is often stuck. There used to be a little shop off to one side where you could purchase mailing materials, stamps, etc., but that went by the wayside years ago. Every single one of the employees looks stressed and unhappy. In the summer, the grass out front gets so high someone could call Code Enforcement on them, and there is usually trash in the shrubbery. I avoid this place whenever I can.
I am extremely disappointed at the lack of follow up on the part of the supervisor on duty and the mail carrier. Tracking for my order states that my package was delivered on 4/22/2018 . I took off from work on 4/30/2018 to make a special trip to the post office. I was informed that my new mail carrier perhaps failed to leave the key to my cluster mailbox. I took the staff at their word that the supervisor would contact the carrier to inform her to leave the key. However, NO KEY was left that day. The staff member in the lobby tried to assist.
I would actually give this post office no stars but that isnt an option... I have been trying to call this post office for weeks and apparently they keep the phone off the hook so they dont have to take calls. I have reported this to consumer affairs department and still not corrected. Nothing will be done if the management doesnt care and the management clearly does not care. They should all be fired and restaffed with people that are actually halfway decent at customer service.
Whoever is responsible for delivering your whatsoever here is lazy. This happened to us sooooooo many times. We would wait & wait all day. Then they said they missed you what & we always end up going there to pick up! We hope someone find the time to clean up this office messes. Wish We have the option to choose a different carrier!
This facility deserve no stars, or merit for that matter. I had a package overnighted to New Jersey and it was supposed to reach its destination by 12, instead the item is listed as available for pickup. You dont pay for delivery if you have to pick up the pizza anyway ?
I often get mail delivered to my house that is not for my address and is for my neighbors. I have even received packages for my neighbors who I dont know. The people who deliver my mail are nice and courteous but they just dont always deliver mail to the correct address.
All staff are courteous and answer all your questions. The lines arent long like in virginia, and actually moves really fast.
Incompetent AF. Couldn’t find my package after waiting an hour. (I wasn’t the only person they told that to. ) Then my tracking number didn’t work. Well, it worked yesterday. Now they have to call me back when they figure it out.
Awful they don’t deliver items but will scan like they do or you end up running around because items just get left other places. Management does not even come to speak to customers to discuss issues.I just use fedex or ups to have items shipped
This is my local post office. Im stuck because I have a PO Box. The customer service is HORRIBLE. The employees are uninterested. They do the bare minimum and make up excuses to stop helping. They always lose my packages. One package was lost for a year! No one seems happy to work here. The only employee that smiled left and went to another Branch.
In July 2018, I put in a request to hold my mail for 2 weeks while I was out of town. I received a confirmation email. When I returned home, my neighbor had collected my delivered mail for those 2 weeks! Soon afterward, I received an email from USPS that my hold mail service was ending! Dont know how it can end when it never began! Poor customer service!
Its not often I have problems with this post office but when I do, they have the WORST customer service ever, hands down. Every single time I call, someone angry answers the phone and quickly tries to get you off the phone before they even give a damn about your question/issue. I HATE calling and walking into this terrible place!!!!
I recently moved into the area which this post office services and the experience is horrible. The delivery representatives left our mail box unit open numerous times with everyones mail exposed. They do not distribute packages correctly and do not leave the necessary paper work to fill out for packages that need signatures. They are very unprofessional. It will be nice if everyone did their job that they were being paid to do, this process will go a lot smoother.
Ordered some live feeder insects for my bearded dragon. When ordering I requested Hold at Post Office since its so hot out. Twice they left the live insects on the door step in the sun, no doorbell ring or anything. Both times all my feeders died. Thats $50 worth of feeders lost, because the seller isnt responsible for that mess up. Unbelievable, I had to go to petsmart and pay three times as much for smaller feeders.

They have a new carrier that is horrid. She does not deliver packages and says theyve been left in my mail box or at my front door. They have been notified and are trying to get it taken care of thankfully. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and apologetic.
Simple questions couldnt be answered, talked down to, told on desperate occasions if I didnt want a package lost to pick it up from there myself and that my package wasnt a priority. Put on hold for a manager, and when the manager picked up the phone after 15 minutes was surprised someone was on the line. Manager was cordial, but employee I spoke was dismissive and incompetent.
We live in the he Kennelworth section and on more than one occasion our mail has been delivered to our neighbor and we have the other side neighbor mail in our box. It is pretty simple to read the house number, which at last know was also on the mail.The delivery seems to be someone who just doesn’t care.Really a sad state of affairs.

This post office is by far the worst I have dealt with. They never answer the phone and when they do, they put you on hold until somebody mysteriously disconnects the call. They are also forever delivering my packages late. THE WORST OF THE WORST
Terrible terrible coustomer service. I cant even put into words the terrible experience Ive had with the laurel Bowie location. The staff is horribly rude, unhelpful & disrespectful. NEVER received a package that they said they delivered. They gave me the run around for over a week and then basically told me to kick rocks and take a loss. They ALWAYS deliver my mail to the wrong address and when questioned I receive nothing but attitude and disrespect. They never take accountability for their mistakes ever!!

You would think that being a part of the government you will receive top notch customer service as opposed to rudeness. A mis delivery happened with my package and the way the employees talk is like its not their fault and its my fault my mail was mis delivered when the address was clearly written on the package. No one has been of help to me and I didnt even go to their office yelling nor did I call them upset but the replies I have gotten are very dissatisfying and outright rude. Its just very sad that with these google reviews and ratings no one has done anything about it and so obviously, the managers arent doing their jobs as well because regardless people would still come to mail there.
Customers service is good but its useless If the driver keeps losing packages...well someone there is not doing their job because I dont have my package worth over $300.I met over 2 people at the post office who couldnt find their mail..
If I could give a no star rating, I would. I came into the Post Office literally at 5:02pm to pick up a very important letter. There was still someone in line and the package handler, Joven, was waiting on an elderly women. Since all I had was one letter, I asked if it would be ok if someone could get the letter for me. Joven was very rude when he blatantly said no that the post office was now closed. I wouldve let this situation go, because technically I was 2 min late, but he didnt have to be rude. What really upset me even more was that a elderly white women came in minutes after me and he didnt talk rudely to her. He waited on her with a big cheese smile. At that moment, I was very distraught. I even got sick that night because I was so upset. If werent for me being persistent in asking others behind the desk, I would have missed a very important letter. A young woman t named Srri? or Shri? was kind enough to help me. Joven needs some customer service and diversity training. I really felt he was being very discriminating in this case.
This is the worst post office I have ever been to. The customer service is absolutely atrocious. They will up-charge you as much as they possibly can. They work at slower than a snails pace. They dont know how to smile. I will go out of my way to go to any other post office as opposed to this one if I need any sort of service.
Unable to contact by phone. Always busy signal. Looking at the other comments, maybe they are busy on the phone getting other complaints. My package notification stated attempted delivery business closed.... either the driver is lying or does not know how to get to this HOTEL which is opened 24/7!....This is part of what is wrong w the country, ppl have a good job but too lazy to take pride and do their job like they should. This is a government job and they will NEVER be repromanded. What good are any of these comments? No wonder UPS and FedEx are taking over and the post office is loosing business and in the red!
This USPS location never answers phone calls, undermanned and very slow service. They font care if theres a mile long line. They tske their own sweet time while idle staff dont even check if others need help. Terrible!
You would have to try really hard to find less competent people. They dont always deliver packages - not sure exactly what they do with them. Shen they do deliver them they are JAMMED into the mailbox and often at the wrong address.

This post office is horrible with delivering packages. The will leave a notification in my mail box indicateing I need to pick up a package from the post office, verse getting out of the truck and ringing the door bell.

This place has people waiting an hour to drop something off, only to find out they’re in the pick up line... I get anxiety when I realize I have to come to this place. Very poor customer service
The staff are disrespectful, They neglect service to me because I was black. They had me waiting thinking someone will come to attend to me instead the was calling me all types of racial slurs in the backroom based on me race (the manager and the worker that was suppose to attend to me.) After wasting my time they told me their close and I should leave but when I left they attended to another customer that was not black.
Highly disappointed I never get my packages! Like I am really about to call 7 on ur side I do check my tracking there is no excuse what so ever I shouldnt be getting my things!!!!

I hate this location! The carrier stated that he/she left a notice on my door, but there was none. I didnt ask to sign anything but just leave the damn package on my porch. They are obviously not doing their job.
Package never received. Left capital heights on 6/3 to next facility, never scanned or delivered. Why pay for certified mail?
