Picked this gym bc my trainer trains here. I lost 25 lbs in this gym the last 5 months (love all the trainers who train here). No complaints and friendly staff. They have all the equipment I need and even have my favorite leg press which not all gyms have. I started coming here during covid so I never run into issues with crowding or waiting for machines but I can’t say whether that’s the case during regular times.
I am looking at the post that are on here and I do not see even one where fitness4less has responded to. That is a bad sign in itself. I paid dues to this gym for over two years and only used it about twice that entire time. I had to change my checking account number because of someone stealing checks, and i missed a payment during that time, and I was immediately charged a late fee of $29.00. I should have been refunded $29.00 because of the rain that leaks in under the walls and drips down on the treadmills.
The best gym I ever been to. And I been to alot
Joined this gym after childcare closed at my former facility. I give it five stars for value and friendliness. The amenities are not top of the line, but childcare is available at peak hours, they have private shower rooms, and group classes ate offered. I enjoy the small indoor track, the large pull up rig, the functional fitness room, and the weight selection.
Its cool, needs some updated treadmills, not even 24hrs, but yet ask for more money than a 24hr gym.
Love every one there very nice
I thought the staff were pretty friendly, and they definitely had great equipment.
It was great...not a lot of people when I went...
Staff are lovely and facility is ok, Im no gym expert but it had what i needed. could get a little crowded but i havent been here since before covid.
Great gym I lost almost 10 pounds in two weeks they really help you over there
Great gym! Its not boring, they have an indoor track. An area for calaesthetics and circuit workouts. They also have heavy bags which I love. Great environment and the its not too big.
Awesome gym! Has everything I need to do squats, deadlifts, dips, pullups, heavy dumbbells, and gymnastics rings. Has lots of other stuff I may use eventually. I like that its well set up for beginners to advanced athletes. I like bringing my daughter b/c some impressive female athletes train train there. Good role models. Some of the guys are totally jacked but I havent seen any of them act like jerks, which sometimes happens. Some of the other reviews criticize the extras like bathrooms, lockers, etc. And I agree some of that stuff could be spruced up. But the gym itself and the people are really great. Ive been going there with my daughter for about nine months when we moved to the area. We both love it!
This gym, even during the pandemic shutdown, continues to charge membership fees though I’ve called and canceled. Now when you call you speak to billing, they redirect you to some 1-800 number. I have basically paid 7-8 months of membership fees with no benefit. Not professional at all!
Awesome staff, lots of space and plenty of equipment! Great area not overcrowded
GreAt instructive groups, friendly staff, and large amounts of weights, cardio machines and resistance machines. They also have classes and CrossFit areas. And of course is affordable
Gym uses ASF payment solutions. You pay a down payment and are told you can cancel for $75 within 30 days. Only they hold off doing anything until that time. Notified them 2 weeks in that I didn’t want my membership. They are keeping the $49 and want $75 PLUS next months dues. Why would you pay ANOTHER month. Money hungry people. Lousy service.Gym is okay just not up to sanitization standards I am use to. One or two spray bottles of cleaner spread across the whole gym. This creates NO ONE using them to clean after they use equipment. I find that disgusting. I witnessed MANY people using the machines and then just leaving. Cleaner doesn’t even look like it sanitizes anything but I’m no expert.
No frills gym, terrible payment solutions. This gym uses ASF payment solutions which a quick Google will show you is associated with dozens of complaints for withdrawing funds after cancelling and makes things purposefully difficult to cancel. On top of that every time Ive had a payment question or concern the staff at the gym was completely unable to assist. F4L, Id much rather recommend you over some chain gym, so fix your payment process.
I signed up in the Spring when I saw the news lady on tv. I have never once used my membership as my schedule/travel and now I am under the doctors care. I went in today to cancel and was told I had to pay my member ship out. I have never used it and you can see it has never been scanned except for today when the guy scanned it to find my information. What kind of customer service is that taking monthly payments from someone who has never used the facility.
Great place for putting in that WORK!!!! TRAINERS LIKE SP8FITNESS MAKE IT EVEN BETTER
Tuesday thru Saturday should be 24 hours. Gym is ok. They keep cutting the hours and more people will have to go to 24 hour fitness for better convenience.
They r still charging customers monthly membership fees when all non essential businesses are closed. So unprofessional
Decent but if you want to cancel your membership it gets real tricky. They told me either I have to mail a written statement or an e-mail with a reason so I sent them an e-mail but no response so I sent em a couple more times and they kept on charging my credit card for several months.I did dispute a claim on those charges and credit card company issued the credit. However a couple of months later I got a letter from them saying I have not been paying and I owe them 160 dollars. They added all types fees to my account and made it 160 dollars ( late payment, mail handling fee, auto convert fee and return item fee). I called them and asked what happened and they told me they have different types of e-mails and I had not sent it to where they do take care of canceling membership. If you do not wish to be their member forever I suggest you try some other fitness center.
Solid 4-star gym. Let’s get this straight, if you are simply focused on working out and you need minimal equipment then this is the place for you. If you seek higher end equipment and other amenities, you may be looking in the wrong area. But when I realized LA fitness was overpriced for what I used it for, I am so glad I found this hidden gem (yes gem not gym).Pros:-emptyish, it has its peak times like other gyms but nothing compared to other places where you have to fight and wait long to use equipment-a ton of cardio machines, never have to wait-a variety of strength training machines, some I didn’t even think existed (ie. legs, biceps, triceps, etc.)-designated changing rooms, with a lock and a door.-designated showers, also with a lock and a door.-they have an extreme fitness area, like for obstacles and for boxing. You will never see monkey bars like this honestly.-group training sessions (but you need the non basic plan for this)-last but not least, cheap plans for what they offer.Cons:-staff is a hit or miss, the one person who gave me a tour on the weekends is nice and will greet you and you will see her out and about tidying up the gym but some don’t even acknowledge you at the front and are on their phone or on YouTube the entire time while you wonder why there aren’t any paper towels to clean off equipment with.-maintenance: some of the lockers are falling apart, literally. Doesn’t seem like anyone cares to fix them or the lock hooks for that matter.-maintenance: men’s bathrooms, soap dispensers are broken off the wall and at one point I saw blood on the sink area for two days straight.-equipment, some items are old and hand me downs from previous iterations of this gym under other operators so expect some funky working machines for cardio and strength but they still get the job done.-only 1 water fountain, and even that you have to strategically find a way to press the sides to get the water outI have come to overlook these defeciencies and hope the staff can fix these areas but for what I need the gym for, I can’t complain. $10 basic membership and even with a $3.25 monthly fee, it’s beyond worth planet fitness IMO.
I joined / started @ F4L Clinton, MD 03/18/2010. I upgraded my membership / relocated to the F4L Bowie, MD 11/01/2013. Here @ Bowie the Functional Group Training program is CRAZY, in a good way. I enjoy the Trainers energy ( Torry, Dion, Mitch, Maria, Missy, CoCo, etc). Im not saying that I like to work out but the Staff helps. The am & pm greeting from your front desk staff ( Kody, Stephanie, etc) energy helps also. Clean showers ( I like these showers better than the Clinton location). Over all the F4L Bowie, MD location is GREAT! Your staff & Managers are Great and a Clean facility. I hope that the Great work stays the same & grow with time.See yall soon.Stacee J.
I love this gym! Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a no frills gym (and i mean no frills). No towel service, no pool or jacuzzi. There is a child care room but only open during peak hours. Its clean enough but not sparkling. Occassionally gets a little messy.Atmosphere is very friendly and workout oriented. Lots of cardio and weight machines as well as plenty of free weights and dumbells. There is one squat rack and one power rack. There seems to be no weight rerack policy here so the weight area floor can sometimes get littered with weights which strikes me as a little dangerous.Only had one membership payment question so far. Staff person did not immediately know the answer to my one payment related question but had the answer for me the next time i came in.All and all this is my favorite gym out of the handful Ive tried in the area. And as a novice weight lifter the staff and members have been helpful, supportive and happy to help educate me regarding my lifting journey. Great attitudes here! Great gym!
Very friendly staff. I am from out of town with a two week membership and I love working out there
An inexpensive gym, and it shows. Memberships range from $9.99 per month. However, when machines break, they never get fixed. The building is in a general state of disrepair. Broken toilets in the mens room, leaky ceilings, and generally unclean.
25 laps equals 1 mile. That’s not an indoor track. That’s a nightmare where you’re the hamster.
Great gym
