It great students will have opportunity to explore varitey of sports like rock climbing, ice skating and its a hub for gym enthusiasts
Three levels and three different types of weight rooms,Theres literally something for everyone, downstairs room has the most stuff but the most people, its a bit overwhelmingThe middle floor gym is limited, but usually significantly less crowdedThe top floor gym, in my opinion has the best equipment and the least judgmental people (my favourite one)But the one thing I care most about isThe Olympic standard lap pool with 25 meter lanes instead of 25 you yards, the temperature is perfect and the chlorine levels are pretty on point
Impressive rec center for students of UC Boulder. Lots of space for students to relax and/or participate in various activities.
Great pick up basketball games, really good players. Plenty of weight rooms. Can get very busy.
Great spot if you want to get COVID. Its unfortunate since the facilities itself and the trainers are actually great.
Beautiful and super functional facilities
This is a great place for students to stay fit throughout the school year. Everything you need is here. Basketball, indoor track/turf, weight lifting, out/indoor pools. There are also tons of space and rooms available for non weight training such as cardio HIIT and other related stuff. If you take advantage of this place, youll definitely avoid the Freshmen-15!
Lots of space, with immense number of equipments. Multi floored place with indoor swimming pool, ice rink and 3 basketball courts. Best place to workout for all the CU students
Getting my masters here. Great and beautiful school. If you like the outdoors, this is the school for you.
Very nice facility but free parking is a pain and it gets very busy with students during the school year at certain times of the day (mainly afternoon/evening). For how advanced the facility is the one thing missing is a nice pool. There is a buffalo shaped pool which is a nice gimmick but not practical as it is outside and closed from mid September until early May. It would have been more practical to spend that money on a nicer indoor lap pool as the one currently there is from the 60s.
Always great to get a workout in
Love the school. I would never leave if I attended there. The views are breathtaking
Best place to workout. After living in Europe and several places in USA, I find it best in terms of multiple facilities. All sports activities, weight lifting rooms and many more things ....Last but not least, very friendly employees.
Amazing facility! The options are unlimited and the quality is superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. The weight room gets crowded during peak hours, but it is still very big. Save your money from renting a locker. There are always plenty available of you dont mind carrying your bag.
If I had more motivation Id be here every day! Thankfully its nice enough that I at least get motivation every once and a while. I feel like Im walking into a fancy health club without the drunk Pilates moms and thats the best. The only thing I wish I could find was a floor plan layout. It is pretty big and can be hard to maneuver if you dont know your way around really well. I feel like I find a new area every time Im in there.
Recommend coming here its a great place really love the view of the mountains its so beautiful one thing I hate is the walk to lunch 10 mins
WORLD CLASS venue. The semi recently renovated Rec center has a great vibe, plenty of things available and the views of the Flatiron from the north window are simply SPECTACULAR. Very easy to forget why youre at the Rec.
Just the most amazing facility! The staff and students at CU are incredibly lucky. The basketball courts have two storey high windows that face the mountains. Indoor skating rink, new gym equipment and excellent squash courts, indoor climbing gym and pool. Yoga and dancing classes are available too
A few years ago they spent $60M renovating. Now membership cost is doubled, far higher than a private gym. Students dont notice because its rolled into their fees. What did the remodel do? Closed half the racquetball and squash courts, cut the weight room in half, built a ton of classrooms that are nearly always empty, and a buffalo pool thats only open over summer break.
Do not try to drive here. Parking lots are a bit farther away. I come from a town with multiple recreation options and centers, this gym has some options I can’t get anywhere else. If it’s fitness related, head to this gym. Every CU student should at least check this place out and see what they’re paying for.
Very nice rec center with modern and updated facilities. Despite the photos, the buff pool is never open.
Apt place to burn calories and get fit. Has all the required facilities including rock climbing and ice-skate rink.
Nice rec center. Not open to the general public. Great classrooms, lots of work out facilies. Ice rink 4 pools (one outdoor) basketball, rock wall, and indoor soccer it just goes on. Come check it out.
The amount of things you can do here is awesome. Rock climbing, swimming, ping-pong, ice hockey, weight lifting, basketball - you can do it all here. The best part is, while you do all of these things, theres an amazing view just out the window.
The rec center is great, with facilities for basically every sort of recreational or exercise activity Ive wanted to do there. One thing I discovered recently is that its actually quite affordable for students or faculty to sign up their spouses for a membership.
Good for students. A lot of chlorine is in the swimming pool. I had good tennis classes there
Excellent Gym (If youre a student), but it becomes a crowded mess in the first couple weeks of a new academic year. Overeager freshmen that wont stick around long. Lacks some very specific selections of body-weight equipment.
We took the tour! It was very informative and we got to see much of the campus. We learned some tips on how to navigate as a student there at CU Boulder.
My daughter (a high school junior) and I visited the campus for a women in engineering day. It was an excellant introduction into their engineering program. Great tours, great programs. They answered lots of questions.
Really nice after all the latest editions. Reasonable pricing.
Where else will you find a buffalo shaped pool?
This is a very, very nice rec center. There are 3 pools, a huge climbing/bouldering wall, tennis and basketball courts, multiple areas of cardiovascular machines (treadmill, elliptical, etc,) cable and plate weight machines and free weights. All equipment is new since the 2014 remodel. Also, the people are all very healthy and friendly.
I do work here and it is such an amazing rec center. People here are students from CU. Not sure if its open for visitors
(Five Stars)^1000 out of 5. The CU Boulder Rec Center makes being a gym rat a positive thing. All your reps and weight amounts will instantly go up! Wunderbar!
Great place to work out. Best pool staff I’ve ever had
This rec center is the worst! You know why? Because once I moved away from Colorado I couldnt find one thats comparable. Literally every gym I walk into I look for gorgeous basketball courts with a view and a rock wall to play around on after going for a run and am disappointed to never find CUs equivalent! My God I miss this place
Amazing facility for CU students to be healthy in a fun way
This is a really large gym with almost all kinds of facilities. Cant really complain about anything
Other than the occasional frat bro trying to get swole, this place is pretty great. Good amenities and big windows to give you a view of the Rockies.
Nice rec center with tons of equipment and sports facilities. I think you can play any sport you could want here
This is a remarkable Fitness Cathedral. It is not just a gym; it is a cathedral to fitness. May we all worship at its alter.
Id stay in school longer just to have access to the Rec. Absolutely love the faculty and equipment. Great place to work out!!
Great facilities. Pool, running track, soccer field, ice rink, weight rooms, cardio areas, rock climbing, and more. Not to mention all the student employees are great, and the locker rooms and support areas are great.
Really crowded most of the time, but a great gym. They have everything you might want to use. (Except a sauna for obvious reasons. ) And it is super clean.
Impressive and has everything anyone would ever need including an indoor soccer field.....how about that?
We have been there for attending my sons graduation ceremony. It is well arranged in their stadium .
Incredible facilities for the general public and student population. highly recommend
Great place i just wish there were more guided tours while I work out.
Rec center is great not sure about the school tho
Well maintained and lot of options to find your fit. The staff is courteous and friendly.
Well equipped, though a few more badminton courts could have been better !
One of the best gyms you will find. Unfortunately the new weight room was not well designed, and uses non-standard barbells and racks designed by someone who doesnt lift.
I get so strong here
A lot of machines, space and facilities! Would reccomend.
Absolutely inviting and high tech.
The climbing wall is great!
Great place to go and work out but it is kind of busy
It is a nice facility. Although it can be very busy in school time.
Great place to work out. The Bouldering Gym and Ice Rink are awesome faciliities.
Nice rec center, many equipments and the view is awesome! Super clean!
Wow....Amazing facilities. Great stadium☺️
Great place to work out but its super busy at nearly every hour except early in the morning. Wish it was restricted to just students but you cant get everything you want.
Its a great facility. But feels a little over the top...
Great gym can get a bit busy from around 12 to 5
Ballin out of control, likely the nicest gym Ive ever had membership to. .....but dont go there, best keep it a secret ;)
Awesome facility with everything a college student could want in terms of equipment
Great place for working out. Beautiful facility
A free social distancing workout area
Wow... Such a nice place to be fit
Considering you pay an arm and a leg for an education, you can sufficiently work out an arm and a leg here. (awesome gym)
The place is perfect for recreational purposes, one of the best places in Colorado
Great facility, modern equipment and a lot to do in here.
Amazing gym, huge variety of options (weightlifting, boxing, tennis, basketball, raquetball, etc.), and positive atmosphere.
Ice cold shower and hand sink in the men’s locker room
So much stuff here, so little free time.
Found my best good friend there tonight
Rec center is super nice
Great facilities, clean locker rooms.
Enriches my life every day!
What a beautiful and well equipped facility.
Impressive establishment. Expensive school
It offers fitness, weigh-lifting, squash, volleyball, basketball, swimming, badminton, ice-skating, hockey, and climbing gym for students and public
Good variety, just gets really crowded sometimes!
No cafeteria open on the weekends confuses me
My favorite place to workout in Boulder! They have so many workout areas for all kinds of workouts!
Always had good experiences here.
Beautiful climbing wall and super convenient.
Always clean. Sko buffs.
The staff can sometimes be impolite
Cant beat a 300k sf gym. Ice rink, climbing wall and weight room.
Lots of fun things to do
Huge variety of ways to work out. Rock climbing, swimming, weight lifting, basketball courts, ice rink, turf field, and on and on
Hands down an amazing facility.
