After being in the 4wheel/auto modification business for almost 2 decades there’s few shops I recommend or trust. I’ve taken a number of vehicles to these guys over the last few years (I don’t have the time or desire to do the repairs) and have had nothing but great service and advise. Everyone I send their way has the same results. It’s easy to find a shop that will do repairs cheap, but to find one that does it RIGHT and within their quote is rare. Recommend 100%

As a first-time customer I was treated amazingly. I was exhausted from trying to pack for a move and I did not know much about cars in general so I was suspicious of everything and worried about being taken advantage of. I and and a friend researched just about everything the mechanic told me, and he was giving very accurate and realistic advice balancing both expense and quality. He listened to all of my uninformed requests, and would have absolutely followed any directions I gave, while still speaking up to give his own recommendations. Not only did he take my car in, thoroughly inspect it, and fix it the same day because I needed to drive it across country for my move the next day, but he answered all of my (repeated) questions patiently. On top of that, even though I didnt qualify for the coupon that caught my attention for the shop in the first place, he offered it as a discount for a first time customer. This was despite clearly knowing I would not be able to return to use his shop due to my move. Whats more, what he wasnt able to take care of, he gave a list for what to do and a time frame for about when to take care of it.I waited to see if his service would falter in some way, and to see if all of his later advice checked out before writing this review. After visiting mechanics here, I can unreservedly say he was absolutely superb in every way. Bolder Auto is trustworthy, with good service, fast work, thorough inspections, and good prices. It really is everything I could desire in an auto shop. Please take your service there - I just wish I could.

Phil has taken care of my car for a few years now. This is the place if you dont know much about cars, just need an honest guy and honest place with fair prices to take it. He actually wants to do a good job on your car so that youll be happy. If you are nervous about your car mechanic just go here.

NEVER use this dishonest repair shop. They charged me $500 over the estimate and didnt tell me until the work was done....and the work wasnt even completed correctly. The owner Phill attempted to charge me more money and claimed I was never a customer once I gave them a bad review. Never...I mean NEVER use this horrible repair shop.

Ive taken all my cars (Toyotas) to Bolder Auto since 2008. They give honest estimates, do their best to avoid unnecessary repairs, and do great work for great prices. If your cash is tight, they often find less expensive parts and never overcharge. Much better than the dealership shops. Very high integrity guys.They have done some serious major repairs on my vehicles without a glitch.When I brought them my new-used Lexus for a timing belt-replacement, I later got a call from Phil telling me it didnt need to be replaced. His mechanic had started the work and noticed signs that it had already been done. A call to the previous owner confirmed this. Bolder Auto saved me from a needless $1500 repair.When I had them replace an engine seal on my SUV, it required removing the entire engine and transmission. Took them days over what they planned, but Phil charged only for the original estimate.Do they make mistakes? Sometimes, but they always make it right.I highly recommend these guys for mechanical automotive repairs and service.

The best auto care Ive ever gotten in Boulder! When I was blown off by my dealership (We could take a look at it, but youll have to make an appointment next week and well charge you for the point inspection), they offered to check it out immediately for free. And when some of the repairs had to be done elsewhere at a chain, they offered to double check the work! Support this local business, they are the difference between a salon and Supercuts.

Horrible service. Was told they worked on Subarus all the time. They ended up repairing my engine multiple times for over $5000 in repairs over 3 months. I then junked the subaru because the engine melted into the car. SEEK Better repair help! Dont make the same mistake I did!

I had my windshield replaced on my Volkswagen Golf Sportswagen last week. I own two car cleaning businesses, BoulderHeadlight and BoulderDetail, so Im very particular about the work I have done on my own car.Phil and Chris were both friendly and very easy to work with. But, more importantly, the work was top notch. There was no epoxy on the pillars or around the edges of the windshield like you get with some national windshield replacement companies.In short, the replacement windshield looked like it came from the factory. I was and am very happy.I would recommend Boulder Auto for both glass replacement and any general repair/maintenance you might need.

Absolutely horrible business. They represent the dishonest mechanic stereotype that is already out there. They will not accept their own coupons and are very secretive about their service. Take your money elsewhere to a mechanic who will be honest with you and stand behind their work.

Three years ago, while on vacation 600 mi from home, the check engine light comes on in Boulder. Took it to Bolder Auto to diagnosis it ( the nearest Mazda dealership being in Denver). Bolder said the issue was a minor circuit in ECU. $$$! They said you would probably get home OK.We did. Our local dealership wanted start replacing other parts to diagnose the problem. Turned out it was the ECU. Replaced underwarranty. Bolder knew more about the car than the dealership did. These guys are foursquare and honest. And I would recommend them.

I was referred to Bolder Auto by an existing client of theirs. Being new to this area and not having a mechanic for my Acura TSX I decided to give them a try. I have had my car in for a few different reasons and occasions and have never been disappointed. Phil and Chris always let me know what needs to be done and also things that can wait for awhile. Their prices have been more than fair. As a female and not having much of a mechanical sense when it comes to cars, I am so happy I found Bolder Auto for my car services and repairs. I trust them explicitly and would recommend them to anyone... friend, family or acquaintance.

We had driven by and noticed a blue Jeep but the weather was bad.....few days later happened to go by Gebhardt Imports and the blue Jeep was gone. The following week happened to be driving by Gebhardt Imports and there it was, so we pulled into the dealership. We were greeted by Andy Purton from the dealership. It turns out the blue Jeep was not for us but they had another Jeep that was available. We drove it a few different times but the best part was Andy Purtons super knowledge of the Jeep lineup. He continued to answer our question and add printed information from the internet.....He did an outstanding JOB. During the closing of the deal, the Gebhardt Imports dealership did a great job of detailing the Jeep (after our test drives) and not only did the Jeep look great but we received a great deal and over the top service from Andy and the dealership.....thanks

Charged 18 hours for a 13.5 book time job and refused to let us know about critical minor details so that we would know what to expect down the road...misled completely about used parts and should have offered a real mechanic services of having parts rebuilt with warranty rather than a junk yard guess...pleass know this place just wants the money..who cares if you spend thousands of dollars and get no where..whats the point if your misled and raped all the way?

I got a quote from an VW knowledgeable employee for a service to be done, Checked 2wice to make sure he was qouting the right job. Owner/Manager wouldnt honor the bid, agreed to do the job at twice the price bid and then messed it up so bad its been disabled and unable to be driven since. ( The motor is apart ) All they have is excuses, insincere and incompetent, irresponsible service and staff. Especially the owners dont care about their customers as long as they get all the money and dont have to stand behind their shoddy work. Steer clear of this band of theives and youll be in better shape than I was. No wonder all the other reviews say the same.

Beware of the Subaru head gasket scam this company loves to sell $3000 to $5000 Subaru head gaskets on cars with minor leaks this is considered normal for high mileage Subarus I was told this job keeps the doors open by an employee and the owner!!This company also uses the very cheapest parts they can buy.... claiming they use OEM equivalent parts...they refuse to use dealer parts although they charge dealer list prices for parts!!They charge top top dollar for labor and have no certified technicians on-site they have no official training... Hacks total hacks.. Make that top dollar hacks selling work you dont need!!Take it from someone with inside knowledge of this business they will do you wrong!!pretending to be your friend and pal all along.... They pay their mechanics the minimum required to keep them coming to work this is why they cant keep a decent technician in the door to save their life!!
