I brought two damaged hard drives in to see if they could recover any of the data after being told by the Geek Squad that they were damaged beyond repair. DataTech was able restore all of my data and did so very quickly. Rickey was very helpful and communicative. I bought the hard drives into their Boston location. Highly recommend.

EDIT: I had originally posted a negative review after my experience, but their customer service has changed my mind! Originally, I reached out for a quote, and was directed to a case manager, who was very helpful, he was able to get my HDDs shipped to their Boston lab quickly, and the cost to me up front to review the data was $100 (not a bad price). Much to my disappointment, the data that I wanted to recover was gone for good (corrupted beyond their ability to repair), after going through the process, I got back my 2 external Seagate HDDs and both the external enclosures were damaged. After my original review, their customer service contacted me & we were able to work out a deal to cover the cost of repairing/replacing the damaged enclosures. Nowhere in any of the emails or on the phone calls was I informed that removing the HDD from the enclosure would be required... Now after speaking with customer service, I believe Data Tech will be making some changes to better inform their customers that removing the drives may be required in some cases. After my experience, I WOULD definitely recommend this company! I would still remind anyone with external drives to use caution, as any of the pre-sealed enclosures may not be able to be fully re-assembled as from the factory...

Excellent service. Trustworthy, fast, competent, effective, effortless to work with. Solved all of the problems I paid to solve. The company was in contact almost daily through a rep who was assigned to me and who was always responsive, intelligent, clear, and accessible—flawless service. Yes the data retrieval can be expensive, but I could not have asked for more in terms of speed, professionalism, communication, effectiveness, and ease when managing the entire process.

I sent my device to another company to recover the data, and after doing the assessment they told me that they could not be recover and they returned it, so I called DataTech Labs and they were able extracted all the data from my device. Theirre engineering department and customer services are great.

I had a damaged hard drive with data that I hadnt backed up and the computer services recommended Data Tech. Given the glowing reviews they had, I felt really hopeful about it. I was given an estimate of $1874 of which I paid $275 as an non-refundable parts fee on November 19, which is when I initiated the process. They told me it would take about 7-10 days but after two weeks I still hadnt heard from them and had to call them up. My case manager told me it would take another week. When I still didnt hear from them after a week, I called them up on December 16, and they told me that they couldnt recover the data.I get that the process of data recovery is unpredictable and that my hard drive is probably too damaged for anyone to do anything about it - what I dont appreciate is how terrible their communication was. I dont think they gave me an accurate picture of the probability of non-success, and they made me call them repeatedly to get basic updates. They made the experience (that was already quite stressful - data loss isnt pleasant) even worse. All the other reviews seem to indicate that their communication is wonderful, so Im not sure what went wrong in my case.I finally went to collect the laptop on December 20 but they said they couldnt find the charger that Id given them along with the laptop. They said they would mail it back if they found it, but given my experience with them so far, I expect to be emailing them repeatedly for the next month.

We had a severely water damaged phone and it took 6 weeks to micro solder the circuitry to recover the data. DataTech was able to recover our vacation photos with excellent quality like nothing was ever wrong. Good service as well, our contact was Damen who kept us up to date during the process. Highly recommend DataTech services if you have a damaged phone and you need to get the data back. I recommend DataTech. They were able to recover files off of my Thumb Drive/Data Stick after it stopped communicating with my computers. It took a few tries but in the end I received all my data.

Luckily, these guys are right down the street, and were able to perform a complete reconstruction of incredibly sensitive files within a week and a half. I had four very old laptops which had hard drives with photos we needed to recover for a special event. We had very little time (a week) and needed to print them up quickly. DataTech called me back immediately after I inquired about their speed and led me through the process of submitting an online order and were extremely clear and helpful in their services. I dropped off the laptops in the morning and received updates throughout the day via email whether DataTech were successfully extracting the data or not. In one case, the hard drive was extremely corrupted, at which point, they contacted me to find out if I wanted to pay extra for data recovery, which I opted to not get. By the next day, I got all of the data just in time for the deadline and my interactions with all of the employees of the company were pleasant and helpful.

They were able to successfully retrieve the data I needed from a completely broken samsung galaxy s3. I was the unfortunate victim of a hard drive near worst case calamity. Having failed to create proper backup for my photographic files, I paid the figurative and literal worst price. My files vanished. Now what? Fortunately, my search led me to DataTech Labs and Damen Bezek. I called numerous data recovery outfits, but was not impressed with the information provided to me by their company phone representatives. Speaking with Damen was different: He explained what Datatech Labs would do to try to recover my data. He explained it to me in lay person terms. That was critical. Clear and easy process for shipping drives and a detailed review of recovered files.

Datatech Labs was incredibly responsive -- I sent two drives in Monday and they had them analyzed by Tuesday morning. They called me as soon as they had determined the cause of the drive failure. In my case, the drives were unfortunately physically damaged beyond any kind of recovery -- the platters had been scored and the information was literally dust and no longer physically on the disks. They helped me track down the root cause of the problem, however, and suggested several avenues for compensation for the destroyed drives. They were gracious and did not charge anything for any of the analysis. I would definitely use them in the future if I had any data recovery needs.

I recently used DataTech Labs Data Recovery to recover data from my computer. The computer was set up in RAID 0 which means that half of EVERY file is written on each of two hard drives. When one of my hard drives had a mechaical failure and I was not able to access ANY of my files, I learned the hard way RAID 0 is fast but NOT secure. DataTech was able to recover virtually all of the information from the failed hard drive and put it back together with the information from the good drive! DataTech performed the work very quickly and kept me in the loop on their progress. They are Awesome!
