I normally do not write recommendations but I have to say, this company went above and beyond to assist me and my family with water damage and asbestos abatement. Being away for a couple days, I walked into a flooded house with all my furniture ruined and a massive leak coming out of my ceiling of my dining room due to a pipe burst. Upon going to turn the main water off, to our surprise there was 3 feet of water in my basement as well.I have never had to call anyone for such a disaster before and found Green Island Group on the web. When I called, I spoke to Jessica who was warm and sympathetic to my problem. She advised me that someone would come immediately to assess the damage. Leo arrived at my house within the hour with all his insurance in hand (I didnt even have to ask) and explained everything to me and even helped me get anything I needed before I went to a hotel.I lost everything. From the furniture,oil burner to the electrical panel. My heart was destroyed. I lived in my home for 20 plus years and had to begin again. Jessica and Leo were the most compassionate as I broke down to them and they reassured me they will take care of everything.During the removal of the water and the removal of the walls and floors, we found asbestos flooring as well as asbestos piping. All was removed in a timely fashion and cleaned up. If I never saw the asbestos, I would never have known it was removed. Thats how impeccable the service was.Between dealing with the inspectors to the insurance company, they were there for my family every step of the way. I can not thank them. Going through reconstruction and figuring out what to get, Leo assisted going with us to all kitchen places and floor places to make sure that we were getting the right prices. I went from a disaster night to 3 months later with a beautiful home.

I had pipe freeze in my basement right before a snow storm and they made to within an hour to help start the clean up process. They we by our side throughout the entire process and even helped with the insurance company. They did such a great job with the cleanup, repair, remidiation, I contracted them to perform the repairs and finishes in the basement. They came with enough manpower and material to get the job done. Leo and Jessica were nothing but a pleasure to deal with!!

Horrible experience. Company came out to start remediation for water damage. Project manager, Jessica, was not communicative. They left a bunch of fans, but didn’t even turn them on. When we hit a snag with insurance, the team immediately stopped work and left—didn’t ask if we planned to pay out of pocket (which we would have). Worst of all, they said nothing before leaving, just snuck out the back.My advice? Keep looking for another company if you actually want to get help.
