This company does not list their hours of operation on their website for the landfill dump site for location 6660 IN-37 Bloomington, IN. When you call the number it goes to a 3rd part answering service and they don’t know the hours of operation either. When you call after hours the automated answering service just says to “office now closed, call back during normal business hours” BUT IT DOESN’T TELL YOU WHAT THE NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS ARE!Why can’t you people list your hours???Am I suppose to ask the Magic 8 ball if you are open??? What kind of business for profit leaves potential customers in the dark about something as simple as listing your hours....

Used Republic Services because I thought it was all I had available. They charged me $141 for 3 months. I was charged $30 for them to drop off my tote. After searching around, I decided to switch services. I sat on hold with them for over an hour then got ahold of them via Twitter. They cancelled it but afterward, informed me I would be responsible for the $30 tote pickup AND the $80 service charge still.Avoid at absolutely all costs.

Have not been in a while, not as good of a place as it used to be. Absurd to pay $56.00 for something I could get an extra pick up for at the same price. Have not met anyone on a long time as rude as the person working the scales.

Good driver or staff, we forgot to bring out our trash can today, but when I leaving my house, it already empty, surprise!

They doubled the price since last visit was minimum $27 for a truck load unless over 1 ton now 56.xx for a light 8ft load of regular trash. Raising the the price is understandable, but doubling seems like gouging.

Moving to a different state and had to cancel my service. They charged me $60 dollars to come pick up the bins and they dont give you the option to bring the bins to them even though I live 3 miles away. Stay away from Republic.

Used them for about 4 years. They would change pickup times with out notification, miss pick ups a few times a month, the bill would creep up with no notification. The final straw was our neighbors where paying 50 buck a quarter less for the same service. When I called and asked about it they said that was impossible, I countered saying I have my neighbors statement in my hand to confirm it. Republic still said no I couldn’t happen. So we decided to stop service, they added a $15 change to our account with no explanation, not listed on a itemized statement. when I called they said it was a “fuel service change”, ok could I have it on a itemized statement...no. So I said wouldn’t pay it with out a statement, so they sent it to collections and threatened my credit score. What a%%holes!

Great bunch of folks there. Got in and out quickly. All 5 bays for unloading were clear of debris, I was sent to bay 5 immediately upon pulling in. It was nice to back completely in because it was raining.

Price kept going up for no reason every quarter and when cancelled they charge a $30 fee to take their containers back. That sure is a way to make sure your customers don’t come back to you.

Well, its no wonder we see more and more trash lying around the county. At $52+ a ton, I couldnt blame anyone for not taking their trash there. And most who self haul from their home dont even have a ton. But being the only transfer station in the county gives you the right to charge whatever you want I guess? Sounds a lot like a monopoly to me.

They were doing fine for about 10 months and then all of a sudden they just stopped picking up our trash. For over a month now I’ve had to call and report a missed pick up every weekend (how convenient). I’ve literally watched their trucks drive right past our house and bin. I don’t understand why they just decided to suddenly stop picking up our trash even though we’re paying. Canceled and going with a local family owned company instead. Avoid if you can!

This place emptied my wallet quicker than it did my trash bin! I cancelled the service prior to the last weekly pickup and was still billed nearly $50 with taxes and fees for Republic to pick up the stinking trash bin. I only live 2.5 miles from the location but they wouldnt let me drop it off to them. So much happier with my new service. At least they can get the bin back in the yard once they empty it, and it costs less than a quarter of the price!

Locked me into a self renewing 36 month contract and continued to raise rates. I thought after 3 years I could get out but was informed I cant without paying a 6 month penalty fee.

Refuse to use this company for you refuse. Not unlike the other posts here this company is not honest. They will quote you a price and then charge exorbitant administration, fuel and environmental fees not previously mentioned. And if you want to quit, $30 per container removal fee. Shady way of doing business. They are shooting themselves in the foot, because there are other companies out there that provide a trash service that are reasonably honest, and not crazy greedy.

PSA: Dont waste your time or money on Republic Services of Indiana, especially if you live near me (in Martin County). They dont offer bulk pick-up, they dont offer extra pick-up, and they dont offer recycling in this area. BUT theyll tell you they do just to get you to give them money and the second you ask for that service, theyll change their tune and ask if you want a $300 container rental.

Long time customer, last bill went up 64% from previous bill. Over the years have had many fluctuations ( usually higher), was told by customer service nothing could be done about it. Cancelled service, went with the subcontractor who was actually picking up our trash anyway, for approx. half the price. Just received invoice for $30.,+ $15.94 for those mysterious fees. Brilliant way to treat longtime customers. Will do everything I can to cost them much more than their ridiculous fees to pick up our container.

Republic is slowly becoming as terrible as Comcast. I called on 6/3 to cancel my service because the price keeps increasing on each invoice and I found cheaper service elsewhere... they wanted to charge me $30 to pick-up our empty container PLUS pay for the entire month of June. They acted like they were doing me a favor because, according to customer service, they normally require payment for the entire quarter. I offered to drop the container off at their distribution center, but they refused... how convenient for them since they charge a $30 fee for pick-up.

They just rolled up in my apartments ally way at 6am. Sat there for nearly 10 minutes, probably using his cell phone. Then the worker decided it would be fun to throw all of the glass bottles into the dump truck instead of placing them like a normal person would do. Then when i call their office to complain. Their automated machine just says our office is currently closed.Well. When do you open!?

Cost just keeps going up and up. They told me my base rate of $60/quarter hasnt changed but fuel surcharges and other fees fluctuate. Up to $88/quarter. Fuel costs are really low so thats a lie. And they dont fluctuate if they just keep going up with no explanation other than I am subject to rate increases. Up over $100/quarter now. ridiculous. gonna find someone else. terrible company and customer service. They dont care.

One star is too high of a rating for this company. Prices nearly doubled over a two year period while service was inconsistent at best. When we sent in a cancellation notice, we received an auto-generated email back saying we had to call a number (which did not work) to cancel the service. It took nearly a month for them to pick up their container once cancellation was made. Definitely do not recommend.

Increased rates on regular basis, almost doubling the rate over two year period. After canceling they continued to charge us. Called and said they had it taken care of and we had a zero balance. Two months later, we get a call from a collections company asking for payment.Stay far away from these jokers.

I put this rating for the white collars doing the pricing over there. The 1 ton minimum means Ill never dump here again. I just ran my semi annual numbers last night. I spent 300 dollars at your business this last 6 months. Thats 28.50 a pop 10 times in 6 months. I cannot justify the doubling in price, and will discontinue my business. Be careful when you go there to dump your trash. There are nails/screws all over the parking lot and they seldom get them up. They do NOT pay for tires or tire repair and basically tell you that you are out of luck. Check the area thoroughly before backing into dumping area.

13 year steady Republic customer. On Auto Pay for 5 years. 04/23/2019 received Email at my home telling me that my auto pay wouldnt process? Checked all of my on line information including Credit Card and expiration date, + amount agreed to. Tried to contact RS in my home town, Bloomington, IN. No phone. Went on line to RS Customer Service per instructions from RS. Spoke to Mia. We (RS) have nothing to do with auto pay? You have to correct it? We have nothing to do with auto pay? Re-checked RC account for accuracy. Called RC CS AGAIN. Different woman, same attitude, same story. You have to fix it but no one knew what it was or might be. Call back again after you verify and we will connect you with our on line department. I paid by single payment and tomorrow will locate another local trash/garbage company. Worst service reps I have ever talked to - worse then Philippine, India or Bangladesh .Hugh Shanahan

To echo someone elses comment, I would give zero stars if possible. We have had several occasions where the trash has not been picked up (on Mondays). They claim that it is because the trash was not out by 5:00 a.m. This week the trash was not picked up again, and again we were told that it was due to the trash not being out at pick up time (we had heavy rains that day). My neighbor had his out the night before but his was not picked up either, so I am done with the lies.

Constant raising price and way over that of local competition.When I called to cancel they told me I have to pay an entire quarters worth for the one pickup they did on the first service day of the quarter.Top that off with wanting to charge me to pick up the containers ($60) and told me I can’t drop them off. Supposedly not an option.

Continually raising prices, been with them for 7+ years and price is ridiculous! Called to cancel, didnt care, didnt ask why, nothing. Not good customer service at all. Also, holiday pick ups, they dont tell you if the route is delayed or coming early. You just dont get trash service, they dont care if you call and ask either.. Winter also, they just wont pick up if its too much snow.

Would give 0 stars if available. I have dealt with them with commercial services for almost 10 years. They constantly dont pick trash up and have gone as many as 9 days without a pickup overflowing our dumpster. We witnessed one of the drivers get out of his truck, look in our dumpster, got back in truck and drove away!! We had 4 or 5 bags of trash in the dumpster! Maybe thats not much be we PAY for that to be removed! STAY AWAY FROM REPUBLIC AT ALL COSTS!!!! I have finally convinced my new boss to look at other companies!! HORRIBLE!!

I called to talk about my bill and was on hold for 25 minuets then chose the option to have them call me back. When they did, I spoke with one person who put me on hold for another 40 minuets to speak with someone else. My bill has gone up the last 3 cycles in a row and is now twice the price of a local business. Also, they charge you $5 to pick up their own containers when you are finished. Go with someone else. They have a 1 star rating for a reason.

I do not recommend republic services. Consistently raised the rate monthly with no reason to why. Very difficult to get ahold of. After I cancelled the service I received another large bill just to have it removed. Overall a terrible experience.

When the company has a 1 star review it should be a wake up call.Charged me 90 to 110 a quarter and 30 dollars of that was service fees. What a scam. Literally double the cost of their competitor J Bs disposal.To add salt in the wound they charge 30 dollars to collect a trash can that is already on their route - which came to 45 after the service fees. On top of that I had to call them to ask it be picked up twice so they tried to double charge me.Customer service tried to act like they did me a favor by correcting their mistake.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not choose this company as your trash service. When we were first quoted it was about $27 a month but apparently they dont include fees with their quotes so it ended up being more than that. We also had to pay a fee for dropping off our trash can. Then after nickel and diming us for two years we were paying well over $100 for three months of service. Since they bill only every three months, you dont really notice the increase as its only a few dollars more each month until one day you get a bill for $100+. When I called to cancel my service they told me it would be $30 to pickup the trash can but again they didnt include fees so it ended up being alomst $50 to pick up a dang trash can.We now have Express Waste Removal which quoted us at $15ish a month and our bill was really the price they quoted us at. They also didnt charge us to drop off our bin or charge us a monthly rental fee. Also, if we decide to include recycling it would only be $6 more a month. How awesome is this company compared to Republic?! I would highly recommend Express Waste Removal if youre ready to make the switch!

Outrageous rate increases. 21% rate increase in 2017. 16% in 2018. Now, my bill went up another 18% for 2019. With inflation at 2-3%, these increases are absurd. Additionally, we have watched them dump both our regular trash dumpster and our recycling dumpster in to the same truck. How does that make sense?

Needed dumpster moved. They gave me an appointment and said $45 charge. I was ok with it. They never made it out on the day and wanted to just come out on regular day and move it. Made my new roofers job harder they couldnt get their big dumpster closer to the back because republic couldnt move their dumpster on time.Now my republic dumpster is full. But they cant access it because of the roofer dumpster, so I will have to call them out when this roofer dumpster is moved and I will be charged. All because they couldnt do their job in a timely manner and no phone calls or apologies.Switching to a local company today.

Its too bad that giving a negative star rating isnt an option.We got quotes from 5 different vendors. Four of them (all local companies) were around the same price, and Republic Services was almost twice the cost. On top of that, they are unable to cancel an account in the middle of the month, so were paying for 3 weeks of their services that we wont be using. On top of that, they charge a $5 pickup fee for the totes.Dont waste your time with these knuckleheads.

They have increased payments dramatically for fuel costs for their trucks and use of the landfill. I was quoted one price but received a bill doubling what I was quoted. Their explanation was it will continue to fluctuate due to costs of using landfill and fuel. I went with another company.

This has been really bad since they have purchased Hoosier Disposal. Never had a problem in 10 years and now have a problem almost weekly (I have 10 pickup locations).

Terrible. I called to ask about my bill because Im charged something different every time. When I asked what the billing cycle was and informed her that it looks like I had made a payment every 3 months she replied, no its quarterly, not every 3 months. *facepalm* Im on paperless billing so I asked if Im supposed to receive an e-mail when my bill is due. The answer is yes and when I informed her that I have not received a single e-mail I was told to call google...........Random bills, terrible service, I canceled.

When you unload your trash you are to wear a hard hat. If you dont have one, they provide one for you. Which is absolutely disgusting and its not cleaned/disinfected. Very hazardous to ones health. They should provide some kind of plastic ware or something to give each person to put over the hard hat so they dont get contaminated by others! Absolutely disgusting and a health hazard!!!!

Had service with them for over a year and the price continued to increase every month until I was paying about $30 per month for trash and recycling services. Called and canceled. It was almost 2 weeks before they picked up their bins. Then I called to find out what it would cost to take a load of trash to their transfer station and they said that I would need to just load up my trash and take it there to find out. They couldnt give me a price. The person I spoke to was rude and crass. PLEASE RECONSIDER if you are thinking of using this service. It is worth the hassle to take your trash to the Recycling Centers. (PS - Monster Trash is worthless as well).********Update - 6 months after canceling the service I receive a Collection notice from them. I called to sort it out. They CHARGED ME $26.64 to COLLECT THEIR BINS - never sent me any notice before sending it to Collections!!!!! A year ago, my rate for what is weekly about 1/2 of a kitchen bag full (although occasionally more) was $16. In March of last year they raised it 13% to $18. Today the bank draft for next month is for $21.50, a total increase in one year of more than 35%! With gas prices about half what they were last year and general inflation extremely low, there seems to be little justification for this large increase, especially one that they tried to sneak in without any announcement. I have absolutely no complaint against my usual driver, but management? A much different thing. I am trying to find another, preferably local, service.

Absolutely despicable customer service. LOVED SEARS & SONS, and remained loyal to Republic after the switch. After moving our service to a new address, and experiencing a problem, the customer service representative was completely unhelpful. They refused to add an additional pick-up, and demanded that we physically empty the trash container before they removed it for the new owner. Otherwise, they would charge $75 and not pick it up... even though we were moving 0.3 miles away and had begun new service with them a week later. They wouldnt even pick it up at the new address! Fuming mad and covered in week-old trash. Needless to say, we will NOT be using Republic for our new home. So unfortunate that Republic was unable to carry on the customer service that Sears & Sons worked so hard for in our community.

Customer for almost four years. Rates kept going up and up to $98 for three months. Called to cancel they tell me $6.64 for them to get the container and then remembers the $5.95 Administrative Fee so with tax it’s $13 just to cancel. Monster Trash charges $17 a month. So glad I finally switched.

Been with this company for 6 months. My bill increased every statement, and now is more than doubled. They would not pick up my recycling because I was a new customer but they would pick up recycling from my neighbors that live across the street. Reason that was explained to me by Republic was my neighbors were former customers of Hoosier and Republic( took over Hoosier) was not offering recycling to new customers but was honoring those former Hoosier customers that had recycling picked up. So Im left with either throw my recyclables in with garbage or take it to a recycling center. Bad business model. The service provided isnt worth the price. I cancelled my service. Vote with your dollars.

I have been a customer for over 3 years at this address and today I called customer support and spoke with Amy. I dated that I forgot to set out the trash in time and was asking if they could make arrangements to come and get me trash later on in the day. My pick up came at 630, I put it out at 7 and called them at 845. I was informed that I was not too relie on past pick ups and was asked if I read the welcome letter. I stated I didnt remember I had been using your sevice for over 3 years now. Amy stated she would send my out a new copy so I would be refreshed, and stated again not to rely on past pick up times. And that they would not radio the driver to pick my trash up later on in the day.This is totally unacceptable, I am paying for a service and do not abuse this service, I missed my trash pick up and you should show some flexibility and offer to pick it up at a later time . thanks Ill be in trash till next Tuesday .
