If you want a good haircut and a good experience, go to Empire. The owner makes small talk with you while doing your hair, makes you feel at home. Not only is the conversing nice, the haircut is too. 10/10 Would recommend.

Waited 40 min outside for him. One of the guys next door said hes always late and keeps his customers waiting as well.

Very satisfying every time

Chose Empire off a long list of barbers in the are and have not considered another since. Been going back, me and the kids, for 12 months now.

It was ny first time pulling up at this barbershop. After a couple years of having fantastic barbers, they all moved away so i had high expectations for this new visit. Upon walking in i was happy to see its mostly a one man army operation.. he had it set up nicely with mirrors all around for good view. He also kept the conversation up well on topics you really care about, but most importantly he gave me that clean bald fade and hart part i was looking for. He lined he up just as nice if not better than my previeous barbers. And all for an affordable price, i would highly reccomend this barber, he makes a haircut seem like magic. Luckly i set my appointment up a week and a half ahead of time so he was able to make it for me, thank you.

Went from 17 inches or so of hair down to 1 or 2 and was very pleased with the cut - Jamonte gave me a great haircut & shave. He did run a bit late for my appointment but there was no hassle since he texted me to let me know and to reschedule. Great haircut and great service.

Man, I was really hoping the reviews were accurate. Unfortunately, in my case, they were not. I showed 15 minutes early and they were closed. No big deal. Until my appointment time came and went. Still closed. It would be as frustrating if I don’t plan on doing it during my lunch break. Not good business practice.

I saw Trish today and was very happy with my haircut. She was very thorough and took the time to make it look great. I am very happy with her work.

As an active duty Marine for 20+ yrs, you tend to be very particular about where and who you go to for a haircut. My son and I were in town for a wedding and both got a haircut from Empire Barber Shop and were impressed with the services from this barber shop. We were welcomed and treated as if we were long time customers. Jamonte showed pride in his work and for his town, something you dont see too often. We definitely appreciate Jamontes time and services, and would definitely come back to see him when we come back into Bloomington, even if it is just to say Hi. Highly recommend Empire Babrer Shop. Shop is a little torn up because of remodeling but that didnt effect anything. They were SUPER friendly and did a fabulous fade on my nephew. We will definitely be back!!

Made an appointment with the owner. He said hed be 10-20 min late, but I waited out front for 45 minutes and he never showed up.

Every since I been in Bloomington. Empire have always made me feel welcomed. The wait time is close to none. I always learn something new when I am in the barbers chair. I feel as if they are invested not only in my hair but as me as a person. You cant beat the prices here. I would definitely reccomend you guys check out this service atleast once in your life time.

The first time I scheduled at this barbershop, the person that was suppose to provide services wasnt there. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him one more chance...This will make the SECOND time that Ive scheduled an appointment and he was a no show without the courtesy of informing his clients that he would not be in the shop today. Very unprofessional and unreliable!
