I have shipped thousands of dollars and hundreds of packages through this post office and they are constantly losing or missing my packages. This last issue is the dealbreaker. I dropped three packages off at the post office on 9/13, two of them were delivered and one of them has gone missing. They will not honor any of my cases, claims, or missing packages requests, even though I have photographic evidence of my packages being dropped off. I am now so angry that I look forward to the USPS collapsing from their incompetent personnel and abysmal customer service. The stupidest way to handle a business possible.

I made an appointment to get my kids a passport and this morning, the day of our appointment they called to cancel. The next appointment is not for a MONTH and I needed this to travel in August and I also have a notarized form from my childs dad allowing me to obtain the passport without him, which will expire before their next available date. I pleased with the lady on the phone to please call another location or try to help me in any way and she just did not care at all. This is so unprofessional and now causing me a massive inconvenience in so many ways. She said their passport agent called out. So then they should accommodate me ASAP, it is called GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Also they should have a back up person to cover in these situations as passports are some times time sensitive. Any time I have ever used this post office for anything there has been a problem, they suck at delivering mail, they lose mail. I will NEVER use this location for anything ever again.
This is the absolute worst Post Office in the area. Unfriendly clerks, no one works pickup window, mail carriers deliver mail to wrong addresses and talk on their cell phones. This Post Master should be FIRED.
I was applying for my passport. The young lady tried to rushed us out of there so fast. The camera was broken to take your picture. They didn’t want to make copies of my official paper. She really didn’t want my presence there. I am noticed how everyone else were being treated with care but us. There need to be a revamping of that office. Because people are forgetting they need multi colored people in order to come in to keep their jobs. Maybe everything should be done on line or computers. Cause I am tired of being mistreated by my skin color. People like her are determining whether I am getting things done or not.
How does this place have ANY stars? This is seriously the worst post office in New Jersey.I was waiting 40 minutes and the line DID NOT BUDGE. They do not care. You better off going anywhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE.
You really have to hand it to the Bloomfield Post Office. No less than 4 times in 6 months - small packages (with worth in each one that totals $50 plus) out for delivery scanned delivered but they werent delivered to MY HOUSE. When it is not one of the 2 regular mail delivery people (who actually are very good and faithfully either put a package inside the mailbox or leave it in the corner under the doorway - not to mention the mail gets delivered in a timely manner by Noon or 1 P.M.), the substitutes for the route deliver mail in the dark at almost 8 at night (or later) and you get other peoples mail and they get yours. I personally bring the mail to who it belongs to where I live but do you really think some people getting packages with electronics, etc in it are going to return the same favor? That is IF anyone got it all. its not far fetched when something like this happens so frequently that the packages are being stolen. When you open a case they send you an email and you dont hear back. You can call back several days later and they cant be bothered - they say I have to talk to the mailman and you never hear back from them. In my own personal profession, if and when I make a huge mistake - there are repercussions. You can clearly realize there is no repercussions for the sloppy horrible job that some of those employees do and there absolutely should be or it will continue on as it has been with no change.

Horrible place to go to. Lazy, rude, incompetent. Everyday I literally have to come to follow up on packages. I had enough today when I was contacted early in the morning about two packages (one of the packages they had it in their facility since Feb18th and each time I keep telling that it says delivered and I never received they said the package was stuck somewhere else). I came in to pick them up and spoke to lady. The lady went in the back and never came back. It’s not after getting mad and speaking to the other clerks that someone took initiative to do something. All I got was a “SORRY”. Quite frankly I’m the one who’s sorry to see how that place needs to undergo an entire new restructure. I do not recommend that place!

Always slow. Slowest USPS ive ever been to. Has nothing to do with more volume because of covid. There is literally no effort to keep the line moving. I dread coming here.
This is the worst post office EVER DISORGANIZED and UNPROFESSIONAL I had this post office hold my mail for 30 days went back to pick up my mail mail and they had no idea where 30 days of mail went I spoke with the supervisor on September 16 and she stated they would send it back to my old address I had a relative check and they was NOTHING there then she proceeds to tell me to call the next morning so she could find out from the carrier what happened to my mail I called every number possible for this post office no one EVER picked up the phone she knew I was going to call at 10am she told me to call her at that time and she never ANSWERED please explain to me what happened to 30 days of mail

Literally the worst service in the state, the Bloomfield Postmaster should fired for cause. The service does not exist, they hide in the back and do nothing while lines grow to the back. Every. Single. Day. No matter what time. They are the least competent PO ever. Thanks Republicans!

These employees do try their best and every time I go I know they are kind hearted boomers and willing to help you out. I saw a couple new younger people, pretty surprised about that. But I have to say 3 stars for the janky place, cuz it’s old and it’s very much outdated. Looks like an abandoned hall, you hear literally everything, it echos ridiculously. From the conversation on by windows to the pin needle that dropped from the back room, everything. I don’t think they are going to change the inside of it anytime soon, but at least make it appealing to the eye. Or get some noise dampers.Now with the new rona in town, they are making the lines longer with the 6ft “policy.” I would actually like direction or a path where to start, for someone that haven’t gone in a couple years. I went in the other day, the line started on my left and to my thought there are a couple people on by the windows. I started waiting on by the doorway, I didn’t see a direction. But then, I started to see people that were just entering building forming the line from I don’t know where, the back where the P.O. Mailboxes were.... yeah no I didn’t see it right away, I had to wait until people entering the building to guide me to start the line. It wasn’t the most presentable to begin with.So I know the employees are nice so that one reason why I would go back.
I never write reviews but wow this is the slowest post office ever!! I waited 40 minutes in line and was only the fifth person on the line. the line is all the way to the back of the post office (everytime) and none of the workers even care about it. One male worker did not even have his mask on!... unfortunately I will not be back here

I recently went to Bloomfield Post Office because two of my items a prescription and an Ipod touch allegedly were delivered to 5 Montgomery St In Bloomfield NJ.I brought in the information about my merchandise and the workers made excuse after excuse. The items were stolen and the manager at this establishment was lazy and worthless and carefree. I was told I to file a claim and sent away Customer Service is poor and there attitude poor the manager should be fired. I believe from my opinion theft is going on in the Bloomfield Post Office.
I live in north newark and take the short drive or bus ride up here instead of going to the one on broad street. Lines are always long there and theyre super slow, here is smooth and friendly. Thank you

I was trying to find some lost mail and could not get through to anyone on the phone either the local number OR their call center. I ended up driving to the location. There was one very friendly woman on the floor helping citizens and multiple clerks behind the window doing absolutely nothing. I literally watched a man twiddling his thumbs. I approached a window that had a free clerk and asked for help and he said I had to wait for the one woman helping people on the floor.......

This review relates to the passport services at the Bloomfield Post Office - be warned if you are a new applicant that this location DOES NOT make photocopies if you are missing paperwork. They do not tell you this when you are making an appointment online. For new applicants, you need a copy of your birth certificate and BOTH sides of your license, no exceptions. They will not help you and will send you up the street to a corner store, which is ridiculous. You’d think that the process would be smoother if they just made a quick copy for you, even if they charged a premium price, people would pay for the convenience instead of losing their place in line/appointment to go make a copy elsewhere. Other than that, the parking is absimal.

As for the Bloomfield Office 13 Municipal Plaza Management they were no help at all they told me they were working on it and my package was going from Bloomfield NJ all the way to California back and forth from 2/1/18-2/17/18. The package was supposed to be there on the 2/3/18. Thanks again from Linda and David from the other Post Office branches they rock!
Dropped off packages to the lady as it was a way to decrease the line but packages were not scanned and its been 2 days..I handed the package to the young woman who is expecting not sure where my package is and if my customer will receive it.
The clerks are nice but the service has definitely declined. When I go there long lines only one clerk for mail. The few free parking spaces are limited to 10 minutes but you might be in there longer. Meter parking has more spaces but after 20 minutes in line I had to go out to put more money in the meter losing my space in line and the line was longer when I returned. I try to go to the ones near my job whenever possible for the free parking and fast service. Rochelle Park and Saddle Brook.

I would give them 0 stars but its not available .Ever since I moved to this end of town I have nothing but problems. Today the parcel delivery woman had nothing but an attitude because shes too lazy to open up a key Box that the Post Office told me to install to see if there was a key in there for my front door. So she leaves the package on the steps in the rain. But the best part is the package was not for my house they delivered it to the wrong street! So her and her lazy attitude ridden butt had to come back and do double the work because a post office employee cant read a shipping label. So thank you USPS for such great service! They wonder why the USPS cant stay out of the red.
Contrary to the majority, I had a very organized and smooth experience. Here are some tips for passport renewal/application:- Make sure you double/triple check all of the small print and requirements.- Have all your paperwork ready.- Cut a check for the passport and the fees separately and prepared.- Make the appointment online, then arrive 5~10 minutes early. Park on the street meter parking/lot; do not park in the 10 min front stoop because the process will take at least 30 minutes (longer if you miss a paper or two).- Make the appointment during off hours (10a-11a; 1p-3p) in the middle of the week; thatll change everything. *think DMV- Get in the right line. The farthest right 2 windows were serving passport applications/renewals.Both clerks who helped me were organized and patient with me.
They took my birth certificate for a passport like 5 months ago and I still haven’t gotten it back. Now I have no id and I can’t even get my drivers license.
Ordered package from target. Went to completely different address. My address typed correctly on package, person wrote in marker complete different street. Women at house who got it contacted me, but still havent received package. Seriously?!?!
Had an appointment at 1:45 today for a passport. They called and said they would not have anybody to attend us at that time so we had to come in before 12. Got here at 11:30 and they still attended us at 1:45. Two hours that I’ll never get back. 🤦🏾♀️
Horrible customer service. An unlisted phone number that I have to listen to an automated machine in order to find in the first place. Once I found the number finally, I call and it just rings forever. Nobody answers, yet it clearly states the business hours and it is clear they are open still. Postal workers habitually deliver the mail to the wrong mailbox, and when I kindly point this out to them they make excuses like they didnt see that there was a mailbox and get loud and belligerent, and suggest I call their supervisor. That does absolutely nothing because as I stated before, nobody answers the phone. Im expected to believe that my mail man is blind despite the fact that all the things he claims not to see are clear as day to anybody that actually bothered to look. If he is vision impaired to the point that he can not see the address clearly displayed on the package, or can not see the 3 mailboxes that are visible from the front of the house, how does he drive his mail truck without crashing into anything? How does he do his job at all? The answer is he doesnt. The fact is this is just pure laziness because the guy cant even unwrap the rubber band to look at the rest of the mail that goes to one of the 4 apartments at my residence. The plain simple matter is they continually show blatant incompetence, and no care at all for the fact that they cant be bothered to do even the basic simple tasks required of them to perform their job. They dont care, and apparently nobody else does because they wont even pick up the phone. Horrible service, horrible customer service, and a disgrace to themselves for not giving even the slightest ounce of a crap about it.
All of you leaving poor feedback have only yourselves to blame..I am in and out normally in 5 minutes. If you would only print your shipping labels at home online before going you would find yourself being happy as-well. Not only do you avoid the lines, but you save on shipping costs. its 2012 people, utilize the technology or wait in line!
New postmaster took real interest in handling my complaints with two packages that went missing after they were supposed to have been delivered at two separate days. I filed the complaint online, gave them a few days to respond, then went there after not hearing anything. Spoke to the postmaster who was fairly new at her job. She assured me that she will find out whats going on and will talk to our local delivery guy who is also new to our area. Unfortunately, he wasnt there when I dropped by. But before the day was over, two missing packages mysteriously showed up inside our mailbox. One had a note that it was delivered to the wrong address and the other did not. However, that one was sliced open and resealed. Never had any problems when our old mail man was still around. This is the first time Ive ever had any problems with the Bloomfield township post office. The main post office itself is not too bad and the postmaster was sincere. But the rest of the postal delivery crew could use proper training. Since I filed the complaint regarding the lost packages, which by the way was marked as delivered, our mail man decided that its not worth dropping our mail inside our mail box and just leave them on the ground just beneath the mail box. He did this too during a rainy day and got all our mail wet. I guess he found out I filed a complaint against him. Well more complaints are being filed in between typing this review so well see what happens. Ive also installed a camera to catch him in action.
WHY CANT I SPEAK TO A HUMAN. I DONT HAVE A TRACKING NUMBER I JUST WANT TO ASK IF THERE IS A PACKAGE WAITING FOR ME AT THE POST OFFICE. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT.
The customer service at the post office was absolutely terrible.1) Only one clerk available with a wait time of at least 20 minutes.2) Packaging Supply out of Stock - Instead of giving me a padded envelope for international shipping, they gave me a flimsy paper envelope which would not protect the stuff I need to ship, at all.3) I printed my own shipping label home on regular printing paper (knowing that it will most likely shorten the waiting time), and was told that they couldnt help me tape the label on the envelope. They then proceeded to advise me to purchase tape in their store, tape it myself,, come back onto the line, wait for another 20 minutes before I can ship my package.I only came here because it was one of the few offices nearby that opens on a Saturday. But if you can, I advise you to avoid this place at all cost.

Customer service was terrible a year ago. Long lines just to pick up a package with only one employee at 1 of the 4 available windows - but we had a private parking lot (metered of course). In 2017, we now have a maximum of 2 employees working at 2 of the 4 available windows. But a new apartment has opened and now we have little no parking available. 4 spots maximum on the street (metered of course). There 10 minute maximum street parking for free, but I guarantee you, you will not get service in 10 minutes. My advice: Go to another post office.
Good location. They sell stamps . The staff is friendly but the customers kinda suck and are rude and mean at times and then blame the post office . Anyway you can ship stuff here also

The phone number listed will direct you to the main number in Georgia.Either they are completely understaffed or completely incompetent.They fabricated the information on a simple package delivery...lied about leaving a notice and as it stands cannot locate the package. Very unprofessional people. Got in there 5 minutes before they closed. Was filling out the address on the envelope and since I was done filling address out the locked the window inside the post office. The other non uniformed worker said to go outside, wait and he will get the manager. He lied to me. Just trying to get me out of the post office without letting me mail a letter. How unprofessional! HORRIBLE!!! I see Im not the only one with issues about them claiming they attempt to deliver and leaving info notices. Pure liars! Supervisor Kenneth is highly unprofessional and combative, tellers are extremely rude, hang up on customers (always claim Kenneth is not in) when I call back, he surprisingly picks up the phone. They seem to conveniently forget tax payers pay their salary and we should receive common courtesy and respect. They are all just miserable, simple minded individuals who dont amount to anything worth the while. Nasty individuals.I will follow through and file a complaint with the District so they can get a refresher on customer service skills, how to conduct themselves professionally and how the pecking order really goes.
A package was supposed to be delivered to my house by USPS,instead they deliver to the post office for the postman to bring. you cannot get through via telephone. they dont answer. I was on hold for thirty two minutes. they closed at 6:45 pm ans never picked up the phone. they suck. I wonder why people pay bills online and through credit cards so they dont have to deal with incompetence. we pay for delivery. I still have to go pick it up if they ever locate my DAM PACKAGE. They make too much money for the lack of worth ethics they have. They will raise the rates on everything too. It kills me but you have to pay. Send or receive your package from.UPS or FedEx. you might be better off.
If I can give these idiots ZERO STARS I would!!!!!!! First of all, my package was in Jersey City suppose to ship to this moronic PO (Bloomfield) and instead my package was sent to Bayonne NJ!?!?!?!?!?!!? Yes, Bayonne. Now, its taking 3 days for the package to get back to Bloomfield and still no delivery date has posted! Mind you, Bayonne to Bloomfield is only 28 mins apart. They messed up and you would think theyll fix it, but nope you just have to wait until they FEEL like delivering your item. I honestly feel real sorry for the people who get their medications thru the USPS... because by the time they received it, the person would be in the hospital. The USPS job application must have a section asking you, How lazy are you?... the higher number you put the faster theyll hire you.
Possibly the worst Post Office in the known Universe. There is a Pick up door where you can pick up packages starting at 8am. However, you may have to stand and ring the bell for a long time before anyone actually bothers to answer. We periodically receive mail that needs to be signed for and if nobody answers our door, the delivery person leaves and you need to pick the mail piece up at the main office. On more than one occasion, I have along with other people have stood outside their pick up window to the point where I actually called their local number to ask them to come to the door and even after that, nobody came. I had to call again and then finally somebody showed up with an incredibly bad attitude.

I honestly believe that this post office should be closed down. It should not take over 35 mins for someone to buy stamps. You have one window open and everyone else is standing behind the counter gossiping. Forget trying to get an appointment for a passport. First Im told they dont do them here, then Im told I have to wait over a year for an appointment. I mean come the hell on!! Besides the fact that god forbid you ask them anything to complicated you get met with the nastiness look ever!

What is wrong with this place ? we made an appointment for our babys new passport, and we showed up on time of the day of our appt, and theres no-one to acknowledge of our appt. so, we gave it another shot today, same thing happened !
One star is too much. There needs to be a no star option . My wife and I are trying to renew a passport for a minor child. We work in NYC all week and only have the weekend to get this done. The post office is just unorganized and inept enough to turn this into a bureaucratic nightmare. Appt s. Online for only but the USPS website is garbage and doesnt allow you to finalize appt or choose dates in advance.

Bad customer service. Not willing to do their job. Package was suppose to be delivered and required signature. I went to pick up package but was unable to retrieve same day ( this part is understandable). I asked the clerk if I can sign the slip stating they can leave the package without my presence. Her response is even if you sign the slip authorizing the delivery without signature they wont redeliver. So why did I pay for their service if they wont follow through to the end. And why give you the option to have redeliver on the back of the slip of they are going to refuse to do their job?
Worst post office ever. supervisors are lazy and dont do any work and they wonder why theyre cutting back on employees. they lost my package that was on the truck for delivery and after a week, they still cant find it. out for delivery for over a week. called the THREE carrier supervisors. all lazy and pathetic. as of this posting, they still cant find it. amazing how these idiots still have jobs.
On dec 16 2016 i sent three xmas cards out with checks in them in the blue mailbox at valentine rd,near hoover ave,well not one card has been recieved, they were all going to columbia,mo 65202,i am disgusted with bloomfield mail,are they still in the mailbox? And this isnt the first time this has happened...

Hours say 645 showed up at 638 to pick up an overnight package that they said would be delivered before noon which showed up at 2 which I cant wait around all day. Surprise! Doors are closed early and the associates sat there with this dopey look on their face like sorry! Awful service never ever pay for overnight service wit usps associates dont give a rats @$$ and the service is atrocious.

Service is atrocious in the absence of our regular postman. I get other people’s mail on a regular basis and deliver it despite the fact that I am elderly and disabled. Today one of my neighbors found a package of mine delivered by the USPS to a flower bed in his front yard. I intend to complain publicly on every platform I can find although they probably don’t care
Mail delivery 3/30/18. So the postal service has resulted to leaving an entire buildings mail thrown on the floor in front of the building door instead of putting the mail in the individual boxes they are SUPPOSE to be in. What is the problem here with the LETTER CARRIERS??
It says online, the Office works until 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2013. I walked 2 miles in the cold only to find out it worked till 12:00. Wen I arrived, I saw about twenty other people just like me discovering locked doors to everyones disappointment.
