Terrible, or NO customer service! I have a battery lawnmower and have taken it there for blades to be sharpened twice. Done in 10 minutes while I waited. Impressed. Today, I took it for the old blade to be replaced with a new blade, which I provided, a 5 minute job!The employee went to my car to get the mower and asked me If I could help him take the mower out of the back of my car. It is a battery operated plastic mower, and no battery was in it. I am a 74 year old woman and had placed it in the car by my self. Even so, I helped remove the mower from my car. I was then told I would have to leave it, and it would be the first of the week before it would be ready. This was on a Friday. I questioned this, as it appeared to be a 5 minute job. I was informed I had 40 jobs ahead of mine and I couldn’t expect to be put ahead of them. I suggested it was a 5 minute job, but was told a mechanic couldn’t put my job ahead of the other 40. I asked If it required a, “mechanic,” to simply put on a new blade, and was told by this employee that he worked in, “Parts,” and couldn’t do it. I left with my mower, and called Bob’s Power Equipment in Vestavia, and was told they could do it while I waited. I took it there, and the job was done in 5 minutes, by very nice and accommodating employees without even removing it from the back of my car! Even though that location is further for me to drive, I will be using them in the future!I would give the Valleydale location no stars, but that doesn’t appear to be an option! 5 stars for the Vestavia location!

Finally got smart & bit the bullet and stopped buying power yard tools from Big Box stores that offer basically Disposable Equipment. On the advise of an industry mechanic, I went to Bobs Power Equipment. Spoke w/one of their technicians and selected a weed trimmer-edger for not much more than Ive previously paid 3 times before.

We have always had our lawn equipment serviced at Bobs Power and Equipment. Was thrilled when they finally opened up a location on Valleydale rd. Needless to say it is a much closer drive from our house. We have always been pleased with the repair work and customer service that we have received at Bobs. Jeff and Daryl are always willing to advise and answer any questions my wife and I may have.Went in today to look at string trimmers. They had a great selection and great prices. Jeff was very helpful in helping me with my decision. Im very happy with the purchase I made. I would highly recommend Bobs Power and Equipment to anybody.

Spent over 800.00 on chainsaw and accessories. They did not give me the bar wrenchthat comes with the saw. Simple mistake right? When you spend this kind of money it would be nice to get everything you pay for. Now its the weekend. They are closed. I have to go buy one to finish what I started. Maybe I should have known to ask for it? No. Their job.

Bought a Honda mower hrr216vka from there about 2 years ago. After a while it started to lock up when pulling backwards. Took it to them 2 times over a course of about a month to fix it and both times they said nothing was wrong with it and to stop pulling back while engaging the drive, and also that if it was locking up, it was supposed to. And this was after demonstrating the mower locking up and showing them videos of it. Called Honda, who said that mowers are not supposed to lock up when pulling back and a service bulletin 107 covered the problem and to take it back and they would talk to them. Took it back a third time, and they said they told me they werent going to fix it. And I told them Honda said to leave it there and to talk to Honda. When I got it back, it was still locking up so I bought the parts (contains the bushings for the axle) for $30 from Jacks Small Engines and replaced them myself. The total time they kept the mower was around 2 months. Maybe spending only $400 is not enough to warrant any kind of customer service. These people are rude, insulting, do not back their products, and really should not be in business.

I’ve bought a chain saw and my son who runs a landscape business buys supplies there. Today my son needed to change the carburetor on his grandmothers tiller who lives 90 miles away - he needed it promptly to help her out. The guy “helping” him barely was able to talk because he had to spit in the garbage every few seconds - regardless he found the part number but didn’t have it in stock. My son politely asked for the part number so he might find it somewhere else in town and get to his grandmas to get the job done. (He is a full time student at UAB and can’t just sit around.) Even knowing all this and the fact we were regular customers didn’t matter. They would rather mistreat a customer in a bind for maybe a $40 profit.All other experiences there have been great. But we won’t be back for awhile.

The fine people at Bobs gave me the time and advice needed for my small engine repair (lawn mower). They didnt sell me what I thought I wanted; they taught me what I needed and helped me fix the problem. Ill use them any time I can instead of the big box stores. Thanks Harold!

If I could give no stars I would. TERRIBLE customer service and customer interaction. I dropped off a tire to get reset on the rim, I had to call twice to see how much it would be and if it was completed. I was told they don’t call customers if their equipment is done...stupid. If you want to be treated rudely and like your dumb this is the place for you. Take your business elsewhere!

I have bought 3 chain saws and had service done their.many times and they are always very helpful. I actually had trouble with a saw once and they fixed for no charge since it was just a part needed to be tighten back up. I would have never know the difference. They could have charged me but they did not.

I dont often give 5 stars when things go wrong, but sometimes it is all about service recovery. To make a long story short, there was significant confusion about the completion of my lawn mower repair, causing me to pay for someone elses repair and make unneccesary trips to pick it up. But in the end, my mower is working just fine, and the kind gentlemen at Bobs fixed it for free of charge for my inconvenience.Not many companies acknowledge their mistakes, apolgize and then do whatever they can to make it right - Bobs Power Equipment did!

Made a visit to their shop today to see if they would be interested in doing some repair work on my Ztr mower. The staff lied 🤥 and said they couldnt get parts for it when the parts can be ordered by anyone. I even offered to order the parts myself but was told I was not competent enough to do so. Unprofessional and unfriendly doesnt really describe it, these guys are total LIARS! and when theyre called out on their lies they resort to personally attacking the customer. I will never be back but I write this to warn any future customers to think twice before ever using these guys!

Unfortunately I have not had a good experience. Took in a 3 year old blower because it would sputter then stop. Explained that a previous problem/fix with it was the gas was not making it to the engine. Not sure if that was still the problem, but it had worked good for about two years then was having the same problems. Guy I talked to didnt write any of that down. Picked it up a week later and paid $70+ for the fix. Asked what they did and he said they cleaned it and changed the spark plugs. I did not get an itemized list of what they did. Used it the next day and it sputtered and stopped, but I was able to get it restarted. The next week - nothing. It wouldnt even crank. Called Bobs, explained the problem and he said to bring it back in. I asked if there would be an additional fee since it wasnt fixed the first time and he said probably since they dont work for free. The blower brand new was $150, so if Im charged another $70, then I could have bought another brand new one. Im frustrated and not even sure where to go from here, but its really doubtful Ill ever take anything to Bobs again.
