Ive gone a couple times and it seems like everything works as it should. Small loads are 4.75, med 5.75, large 9.75 to wash and takes 20min. Drying is 0.25 cents for 5 minutes, usually you need 15-20min total. To start, go in to the right and get a free laundry card from the vending machines on the wall. You can load it with cash or credit card. They will also do you laundry for a fee or you can get dry cleaning done.👍if helpful!

I seldom need a laundromat, but when I do, I always go to Soap Box Laundromat on Lorna Road in Hoover. All attendants are masked, and the machines and entire facility are spotless. Everyone very helpful, too.

German roach in the bathroom, so this place is probably infested. Would do 1 star but the staff is great, so I did 2, but now Im worried Ill accidentally take home a roach or two in my laundry 🤢Update: took off that second star because I found a German roach in my car later today. Disgusting. Dont come here unless you want to risk you house getting infested. I really, really hoped this wouldnt happen, thinking maybe they were just in the bathroom or primarily in another unit or something, and that they wouldnt be able to get into my laundry since theyre inside the machines. But they did, so this place must be infested infested. I have money left on my card, nothing is worth coming home with roach clothes. Nasty.

Please believe me when I say that this place is WONDERFUL!Father & son owned business. Both of them are very humble & kind and eager to help & serve. The place is very clean and they offer wash & fold service. They have a huge selection of different size machines and will help you choose the best fit for your needs. 20 MINUTE WASH!!! No need for quarters as all machine are card operated. We have a washer & dryer at home & only use a coin op laundry when traveling on baseball trips. Im very impressed with the location and services provided. I travel for work and need a good location to wash and if needed have dry cleaning done. Ive been several times while in Birmingham and they have not disappointed me. Im glad I found them and will be using them while Im in town.

These guys need to be giving a school of instruction for how to run a small business. They do it right. Clean, well designed laundry facility with outstanding personnel working there.

This is the laundromat I go to all the time! It has good size folding tables, spacious area, his/her restrooms, plenty of washers and dryers. I’ve never had any problems with machines. There is always an attendant on duty. The owner and attendants are very attentive and friendly! They also offer same day drop off/pickup laundry, if you can’t/don’t want to do it yourself. If you’re looking for a nice clean laundromat, this is the one.

New to area and just discovered this laundromat/wash and fold. Best service I have seen anywhere in a long time. I asked if it was a family business, and the young man said it was. The pride and care of ownership as well as really up to date facilities make a little longer drive worth it.

Absolutely top notch service! I brought in a queen size Eddie Bauer, duck down comforter. My dog had gotten super sick and threw up a very dark brown liquid. I had tried spot cleaning it myself, but just ended up making it worse as the stain transferred. I called and they said they could help! I brought it in and they treated it, asked if Id mind leaving it overnight. I picked it up today and it honestly may look better than when I first purchased it! Will go back again for all my large capacity and dry cleaning needs!

This place is great. It’s very clean. The owners are friendly and helpful with getting started.If your washing your own clothes, it is set up so that you purchase money-credit on their proprietary card (located to the right when entering) and then use that card on the machines. I used a Visa debit card, but it looks like they also accept Amex, Discover, and MasterCard. When using it on the dryer, each swipe of the proprietary card gives you 5 min of drying time, so swipe 6 times for a 30 min dry.They also have a wash and fold drop-off service that seems pretty reasonably priced.They have WiFi available and they’ll gladly give you the password. The owner says that sometimes it goes down, but to just let them know and they’ll fix it with a quick reset.

I needed to wash a large comforter and had no idea how to operate the machines and etc. The staff was super helpful and walked me through every step. They were very kind. The area was safe. I was shopping for a new washer and dryer. I went to Soapbox Laundry Mat to do a load of laundry until I made a decision to purchase new machines. I thought I would dread going to a laundry mat but I had a very pleasant experience.The Soapbox is very clean, neat and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. Used their same day service. It was a Saturday and quoted time was 1.5-2hr turnaround. Clothes came back clean and neat in a bag. 18 bucks for a suitcase of clothes washed.

Clean, well-functioning machines; clean restrooms, friendly staff, COVID-19 safety measures (mask requirement, social distancing) are observed by almost all customers and enforced (in a very professional and respectful way) by staff when customers are non-compliant.

A mere 15 seconds after walking in I was greeted by the woman attending who could already tell I was lost. She graciously walked me through the whole process, and having never used a Laundromat before, this was much appreciated. The facility is clean and welcoming.I will absolutely be back.

Cleanest laundromat Ive ever seen! None of their equipment is out of order whenever I go so thats a plus. Crew there is stable so you can count on your drop off service to be consistent. Instead of coins they have reloadable cash cards to use for this washers and dryers. Also the washer and dryers are good sizes and the cost is very affordable so this is a good spot overall.

The staff was helping and polite they welcomed me in when I walked through the door! The younger woman helped me & showed me how to get a card & add what what I needed to put on the card. Friendly staff, machines are older but clean. During covid everything is wiped down regularly and masked are enforced which is appercaited.

The whole facility is very clean. From the main lobby to the bathrooms. The laundry carts were neatly lined up along the folding tables and well organized. The owners were extremely helpful. The atm disconnected and charged me without receiving funds and he made sure my situation was handled immediately. He was also proactive with showing you how to use the equipment so you don’t waste your time and money. Highly recommend this place for self service and for the wash/dry: fold service. Glad to support a well maintained family business!!!

Great experience. Went at the busiest time of the week on Sunday afternoon and there was both washing machines and dryers available. We washed lots of laundry and had a good time doing it. Best tip is if you have a large king size comforter they have a washing machine big enough to wash it. Bring cash. They don’t take visa but they have an atm.

This is an excellent laundromat. It uses reloadable swipe cards that are very useful if you use this place more than once. The employees are very helpful and will be happy to instruct you how to use all of the washing machines and dryers if asked. They offer soap, dryer sheets, and any of your laundry needs. There are also lots of stations for folding and carts to help move clothes around. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to do laundry.

This was my 1st time going so I didnt know my way around. I didnt really know which machines to use, how to pay, etc.The young lady on staff immediately offered to help me. I washed one load of dog blankets and beds. The workers were nice until I finished! Then I was literally dis-invited by a man to never come back with dog stuff!They said there was sign on the front door. However; the door was propped open and it could NOT BE SEEN!They SAW me loading the washer. Why did they decide to not inform me before I spent my money here?The items did NOT come clean either.

We have used Soap Box several times over the past 6 months. We had no problems. The place is clean and safe. The one problem we had was addressed head on and the owner went above and beyond to see it fixed.

Soap Box has been a life saver! My husband and I have very busy lives with work and children. We leave our dirtly laundry and dry cleaning on the front porch for pick up. It is so nice to come home to find our clothes clean, either folded or hanging. One less source of stress for our family allowing us to spend more time together. Very professional, reliable, freindly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Walked in the door and was confused about the whole card system. But she took my quarters even though she wasnt supposed to and helped me get a card going. Washers only take 20 minutes. Um yes plz. She was kind and polite and they even have wifi. Gonna use this place again when im in the area
