Windstream has a third party that has contracts with 7 apartment complexes they need to pull that contract immediately as it is making them look really bad. It is excelerate located in Birmingham Alabama. The company is leaving wiring that hasnt been produced in some while cat 5 was replaced by cat 5A and cat 5 is still in the apartments the newest cat wire is cat 7

Worst customer service EVER. Line has been cut in my yard for a week, trip calling 911. Numerous calls, they all say someone will be out on a certain day and NO ONE SHOWS UP and a ticket is never created for the service. Even spoke to a supervisor and she lied to my face saying she called the local office and they will be out. The next day when no one showed up a different supervisor told me they dont call local offices. No one does their job there. Here I on the 5th service call.. TBD if they show. AVOID.

Replaced lines in back yard, left cut trees and limbs all over my back yard for me to clean up, I dont use Windstream and havent because of the terrible service. Now on top of working 7 days a week I get to come home and clean up after them. Terrible service, no way to treat a land owner!!

The company contracted out which is Excelerate is not a company I would recommend. They are not professional in wiring as they only hook a computer up and check the wires as I have a tester and it shows something is still wrong. The company excelerate needs to be disconnected with windstream as they have tons of bad reviews.

I have been a customer for over 12 yrs and not had major issues with my business although in the last 24 hrs they have given me a reason to doubt them. No communication for 24 hours...i have been put on hold for over 4 hours . This is my telephone system for my office. Hard to do business without service. I will not go through this in the future because I will have local company that can handle.

This is not just the worst internet you can have but the worst of any service period you will ever know. Rude is an understatement for there costumer service. You are lucky to get 5 mega bytes of download speed if you have the highest and most expensive service. I called to complain and they said they were sending someone between 8am and 7 pm lol really? So around 2 pm I called for an update and they said they had cancelled because they looked and we had a lot of devices streaming. They never even let us know they cancelled. We never have good service and it goes completely out half of the time. No wonder they are bankrupt. You are better off getting a good phone getting unlimited data and getting a good mobile hotspot app. I promise you will hate you did business with this horrible company.

These guys WERE great! However, in March of 2019, my service, which was 1 gig of download speed, began to have horrible stability! Then, in April of 2019, the service began to shut down regularly. And if I called customer support, the computer would tell me, Your wait time is 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I would just hang up.The Company filed bankruptcy around Feb of 2019.That was the END of the greatness!DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with these people!!!Theyre dead in the water....

The worst internet provider I’ve ever dealt with! If you enjoy those pop ups that just take over your device, then this is your company! I promise, if you love talking on the phone with rude people, this is your company! I hope no one ever has to be put in the position of having to use these people simply because they are the only provider in your area! One star is way over what they deserve!The FCC SHOULD REALLY INDICT THIS COMPANY ON FRAUD CHARGES! No joke here!

What can I say, they never show up when they say they will. They dont call and let you know they wont show up. When you ask them why you are having the particular issue you are having with their service they put you on hold for an average of 30 min and depending on who you speak to each time, they tell you different reasons. Hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. Its as if my internet provider is run by federal bureaucrats. If I could, I would give them a negative five stars. I am now going to the better business bureau website to file a complaint.

The ONLY reason they get a star is because you have to click something!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! After 2 days of a no show technician to set up my internet I call to find out the same BS excuse of not coming was a stalled train on the tracks. ( which was a lie on both accounts). When I called BS & voiced my concern about getting my service, the customer service rep LAUGHED!!!! I requested to speak to a supervisor and was put on indefinite hold!!!! Unfortunately this is the only provider in my area..... HORRIBLE

Update- Its been 2 years since I posted my initial review for Windstream and still nothing has changed. They offered me a speed upgrade from the 15Mbps we were initially given to 25 Mbps for the same price and sent a tech out to do some work and replace our modem. Instead of an upgrade we now consistently get less than 10Mbps and earlier today a speedtest showed around 1Mbps. I wouldnt even call this high speed out here and according to the currently accepted definition it isnt. 25Mbps is. Still no Spectrum but Hargray which isnt a huge company or rated too much better is 9 power poles away from our house and has scheduled to finish expanding towards our house but their minimum they offer is 100Mbps on an actual fiber optic line. I talked to a Windstream installer about it and he told me that he and other installers have talked to the people at Windstream in charge of expanding their network and upgrading it about upgrading our part of the street to fiber because it is literally on our street already and he said they laughed and said they dont any plans to ever upgrade any more in our area and are just going to leave the lines as they are and if they deteriorate and cause signal problems oh well not their problem. Thats great business right there. Dont support your products until they fall apart and just tell your customers oh well sorry. This perfectly explains why Windstream had to file bankruptcy and their hemorrhaging customers more than any other provider. I wouldnt be surprised if they go completely out of business by years end.Absolutely the worst internet provider that I have ever used in my life. We are stuck with them because they are the only provider other than going satellite internet which would be just as bad in our area. I know not only myself have complained but numerous other families have complained about their service and theres even lawyers out her handling arbitrations against them because they are so bad. They dont care to fix their infrastructure because they know we have no other options available to us because were in such a rural area. I have heard recently though that our small City passed an ordinance that will force them to upgrade the infrastructure out here so maybe that will help. Either that or maybe Spectrum who is now roughly a mile away all the way around us will finally reach our house soon. Im hoping for the latter so I can do away with horrible over priced Windstream.

Call on Friday to make order for internet and WiFi, well call or text to let you know we will be coming, they show up on Monday (no call or text) install the exterior work and leave a card that its working properly, BUT no modem. So therefore I have no WiFi no internet, its now Thursday still no modem delivered, and their office says there is no modem, pass you to another rep that says there is an order, pass to the next rep ...Ill ship you another modem...what? I didnt even get the 1st one. Where is your office I will come get one, ....she says I dont know where the warehouse is. Hmmm....🤔 So how many more days will I have to wait? It could be Saturday or Monday before you get the modem. Wow!!! Absolutely Wow!!! In 2 calls I have spoken to 9 people who have no clue as to what they are doing or what their co-workers have done within the order. No communication with each other and absolutely no communication with their customers who are supposed to be #1.Just activate that order so we can collect more money. Your company is piss poor and you should close and lock the doors. And yes you will credit our account for the 8 days we never had internet service. I CAN shut down my contribution to your income real quick!!! And the one star was earned not by my satisfaction but because you did answer the phone for a sale. Thats all you see in a customer is their money.

Windstream is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Unfortunately, they are the only provider in my area. Customer service is awful, wait time is extremely bad, and I have been waiting a week for someone to show up to the house.

I dont know what this company purports to sell, but the telephone number is for the ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. Why do they call me? I do not know. When I return the call, nobody answers.
