Boyd is practically giving trucks away to drivers through the lease purchase. All you have to do is show up and do your job.

Don’t fall for the “family”. Drivers are losing everything at home because this company doesn’t uphold their end of the bargain. Nobody answers the phone. The whole office goes on vacation, but leave the drivers without support on the road. Payroll/HR/benefits/maintenance, you name it...the excuse is always we are hiring/training new people. 86% turn over for drivers means people can’t wait for the culture to change. It’s too late. People who’ve worked there for years are allowed to continue to bully drivers with impunity. Shiny new trucks don’t fix problems

I worked for Boyd for over a year. The pay was decent. I almost never had a problem getting home. For those drivers they talk about their fleet managers not working for them or helping them, they might not have been holding up their own end of things. I had an issue with one fleet manager and I talked to his boss and it was resolved by the next week.I worked as a company driver and through their lease purchase program. I had an overall positive experience with both. I enjoyed my time with Boyd. I only left due to my family not being satisfied with only seeing me on the weekends. I would work there again if my situation was different.

The owners of this company are fantastic guys! I don’t have any experience in trucking but I do have 13 years of railroad and I’m the kind of person that sits back and watches. There’s a few things I don’t understand but the top ones are this. If you have a “manager” or someone that thinks they know how to be one has other fleet managers working under him/her and one has 6 drivers quit with and another has 5 drivers quit, doesn’t that make the manager have 11 drivers quit under him/her? Another one is,the driver that had 5 drivers quit but 3 were not ever on his/her board but gets terminated while the other that had 6 drivers quit remains employed with nothing being done! Not the fleet managers fault but to me I see favoritism where it shouldn’t be and someone is wanting friends more than workers. There will be a lot more drivers quit because of this new manager and the one that was fired for no other reason than she didn’t like her because she done her job is absolutely uncalled for!

I liked the job of being a flatbed driver, but the trip planners could never seem to get me home weekly on a consistent basis liked I was told in orientation. After several weeks of this I finally managed to get a 3 day weekend. Prior to this weekend I had only been home for 60 hours in the previous 5 weeks. I resigned after I was told to run my load to Texas even though my wife was headed to the Emergency room for possible surgery. Sorry guys family will always come before a job or money. Otherwise thanks for the opportunity I was given with your company.

Would not recommend Boyd Bros! They lie about the home time, driver managers don’t answer the phone, I reminded my driver manager that I wanted to go home for the weekend after being away from home for 20 days. Friday came and I was sent a load going to Illinois the complete opposite direction of Virginia then was told by the dm I needed to call early to get something going home.

I worked for Boyd Bros 6 years ago as my first driving job. They were great. They worked with me and found local loads when my wife was 9 months pregnant so I could be home for the birth. I have nothing but respect for Boyd. If I ever go back OTR Ill be with Boyd.

Stay away!! Recruiters will sell you a dream to get you to come to Boyd. Once you get to Boyd, you find out none of it’s true. Driver managers will not answer the phones or respond to messages on the ELD. COMMUNICATE thru the Rand to C.Y.A. Forget about home time. You will get put on a load going away from your home at the end of the week when you’re supposed to go home. They will forget about you, then blame you!

Been looking to get into truck driving for a long time. Boyd bros are making that possible for me. They helped me get my cdl and have gone above and beyond to make me feel like part of the family. I am very glad to have came to the boyd training facility. David, Jim, Wayne, Greg, Ben, Adam and Kay where absolutely fantastic. Andrew and Charetta for orientation were awsome and Ken for load securement was absolutely exceptional. If you really want to get into truck driving this is the place to be. I knew absolutely nothing about driving and they gave me exactly the tools I need to succeed.

I worked for this company for a year and a half horrible pay do to no miles wait on loads from dispatch for over 24hrs if not longer.. signed to their lease purchase after a year hopeing to make some money and that was even worse I quit and went to a diffrent company and they never refunded the $3,500 i had in escrow from the lease purchase. This is a horrible company with high turnover that lies and cheats.. stay away plenty of companies out their that treats their drivers right..
