I would give them a 10/10 it was my first time ever in my life renting a car I kinda nervous and didn’t know what to expect. They made sure they walked me through the steps. And made me feel very comfortable. Most definitely will rent from them again

Let me start by saying enterprise as a whole was a nightmare, however the people at this location were great. Particularly the manager Ryan, and a person I can only refer to as the new guy. I should of gotten his name. I spent days trying to get a rental (after I was told one was waiting for me) and hours on the phone. I went to three separate locations all at the direction of enterprise before getting a car. This location was my third stop and they actually came through. Part of the problem is that this was done through an insurance claim. Dealing with the people from the call center was rough. They were all trying to be helpful but seem largely unaware of the policies regarding cars sent out via insurance.All that being said I got the impression from everyone at the store (with one minor exception) that they all wanted to and were willing to do everything they could to make a stressful situation easier and they did. If you have to rent a car I would suggest going here. Maybe call them first and make sure you are speaking with someone locally. If it is don’t through insurance they are aware of the policies and will help sort any issues out.

Please let people know to have a major credit card. I booked my reservation for a full sized car over the phone . I came to pick up at 4:30 (which was the time on the reservation). When I arrived I was asked the questions that are normally asked like address etc. Then I was asked if I had a major credit card so they could “hook me up” . I only had my visa debit. At 4:50 I was taken to another nearest enterprise location which they stated that had the full size car. After arriving and answering the same questions, I had to settle for a midsize car that hasn’t been washed nor tagged. Be this time all offices are closed. Thankfully, the associate was kind enough to put the license tag on for me .To make things better for me: 1. State that you will receive what you asked for in the initial reservation or “ hook me up” only if I pay with a major credit card.2. Make customers feel like their reservation has been honored and not forgotten.3. If it’s a chance that customers will not get what they requested when reserving, don’t make it an option.****Updated***** on 3/8/21Upon returning, the manager did apologize. He explained the rental process fully. Being sure to put a car on file is definitely what I will do next time. I was happy with him also stating that I would receive a refund in the amount of the full sized car that I originally reserved.Thank you Enterprise!

Could not have asked for a better experience. Quick pickup. Quick drop off. Everything is handled in the parking lot so you do not go inside. They are properly doing business in a COVID world. Great experience. This was for a personal rental for a trip. We will be renting a vehicle from here annually. Ill be back.

When the Gardendale location couldnt fill my order for a minivan 1 day before my family trip I called my usual downtown location. Trey and Trent went over and beyond and came through for me and found me one. Our vacation was saved by these two. I appreciate them and thank them for their effort. Enterprise never lets me down.

This location had a great team a few months back and I used to rent very often. Not going to anymore. Returned after a few months and my experience today was horrible. I reserved a midsize car online in the afternoon but When I arrived at the location, they said they dont have a midsize. The only option offered was to pay more and get a larger size vehicle. Whats the point of a reservation then? Not having a car is reasonable, but they should have informed me by giving a call (previous staff used to do that) or at least made an effort to get one from another location or something. They just didnt care to find a solution after I went there all the way from work. Not recommended.

Absolutely and under no circumstances do business with this establishment. They do not honor their commitments and do not care when it leaves an elderly woman stranded. They accepted a reservation from my mother who needed a vehicle while in Birmingham, when she arrived they told her there was not a vehicle available and they had no notion of when one would become available. When my mother said she did not understand how this worked as a model of business the employee she spoke to demeaned and disrespected her. We will never do business with Enterprise again after this experience and I would advise you not to either. I hope these employees never have to rely on their employers services when their parents are out of town.

Ive only had to use Enterprise when filing a claim with my insurance, which has only been twice in the last several years, that includes my current experience. This most recent time, the agent picked me and my daughter up from the body shop and practically threw the car that he was in at me. I was ok with it, because of the model, however I asked multiple times would I be hit with additional charges outside of what my insurance as well as Enterprise had assured me of. His response, no maam, Im going to honor what you were told even though this car is usually more. Ok cool right? Wrong. A few days into my having the car there was an attempted charge on my credit card from the rental service. I found out that they were charging me additional taxes that I was not made aware of initially. I was very agitated to say the least. Well after speaking with the manager, Derrick, he promptly rectified the situation and turned a bad experience into a great one. Thank you Derrick for turning my experience around. Enterprise is lucky to have you on their team.

Car was good. Employees were friendly. Im pretty sure while I was waiting they put a couple of people that were behind us in line in cars before us, even though we had reservations. Additionally, the $200 deposit that they charged my account, which had come out before we had even left the parking lot, has still not been credited back to my account 2 days later.

My driver over to the Pelham location was very nice and conversational. However the vehicle wasn’t full of gas it was on a fourth tank of gas. I immediately had to go out gas in it. Additionally, the vehicle had a strong weird odor of some sort but couldn’t make what it was. After looking in the truck it was a lot of pet hair. Apparently someone must have traveled with a big dog in the hatch of the vehicle. That was where the smell must’ve come from. I didn’t see this initially because we didn’t look inside the trunk part as we did our outside walk through. Lastly, the oil light came on several times as we were driving the vehicle.After telling this to the assistant manager he really didn’t seem concerned at all and just passed me his card. Not impressed

I have rented from enterprise for the past 6 years at least 2 to 3 times a year.I love being able to get in a vehicle and going on vacation all over this beautiful country.The only down fall is during the times right now that we are facing, enterprise closed theCullman Alabama branch hopefully only temporary and I had to go to Birmingham to getThe van i needed. However when I got down there to get it, I had to drive to a differentLocation to pick it up. But I am pleased with renting if I had my local rental back open!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I dropped my car off at the shop to be serviced. I was scheduled to have a car ready for pickup on 9/2/2020. I called the office @ 8am. I was told there were no cars available. The representative took my number down while he checked for other locations. He never returned my call, no updates, check-in’s, follow ups, nothing. Which is very unprofessional. Leave it to this location I would have been stranded at the shop and possibly would have had to go weeks without transportation. It’s now 12:30 and I still have no phone call. 5th Ave, I am so sorry to be an inconvenience to you by requesting obvious services you provide.Thankfully, there were other locations who were more than happy to assist.I wouldn’t advise anyone who appreciates being treated like a valued customer or a normal human being to use the 5th Ave N location.

I went to pick up my car at the location specified in the Enterprise email. I had received a message when I made the reservation that Enterprise would call me to confirm. There was no call, so I called the locations for all three offices in my area and no one answered their phone number, so I proceeded to the location in the email. The location was closed with a note on the door to proceed to another location. That location did not answer their phones, but I proceeded. On the way, I received a reminder from Enterprise to go to the first location (the one that was closed). On the way to location #2, I called the national office. They could not tell me which of the other two locations had a reservation for me, but could tell me that there were cars available at both locations and that if the first location I got to was closed that the airport was open til 10 and I could go there. The agent lacked concern and had no information that helped me. He was surprised that no one was answering phones at local agencies. When I arrived at location #2, there was someone at the desk (who could have answered a phone, I would guess) but the location was SWAMPED. The folks there were working VERY VERY hard and I got a good car and made my trip. However, adding insult to injury, the car I got only had a quarter of a tank of gas and I had to go to a gas station and fill it up. It was not an optimum experience. It seems like the national office could track closings and reservations better. I will continue to rent from Enterprise just to give them a fair chance--theyve always been my favorite rental agency, so this wont change my plans, but I am disappointed that after months and months of Covid related problems, the technology for the car reservations isnt in better shape.

Okay this is BOSSLADY NEKA. I’m back. I was at the max on the last comment. So technically I was never late because the incident early Dec. they still charged my credit card DID THEY FORGET! Then I was suppose to come in Dec. 25 on Christmas which is the reason I Called the following Monday since they were closed to tell them I was coming in which they said okay, but now IM ALWAYS LATE! So until 3pm-4:45pm I’m sitting in the car because remind yall I was unaware of them not going to rewrite to me. I still have my kids and my stuff in the rental. At 4:45 is when a manager wants to decide to come out to talk to me. He explains the reason of not wanting to rewrite to me because I’m always late and that I am very rude so they won’t be doing any business with me anymore. So I said okay. But at this point I’m over it I have been here since 3pm I need to get back to work I could loose my job and on top of that I’m stranded with a bunch of my belongings in the car and my husband doesn’t get off until 6pm and they close at 5pm. Soo me sitting in the car and they are about to close he then comes back to the Jeep rudely and say he’s giving me 2 options. Either I need to find a way home because they are about to close or I can take the Jeep home and bring it in the morning to speak to a regional manager when I return. Which is the option I chose because this has to be handled there is no way enterprise is allowing all of this to happen in their corporation. The next morning I chose another enterprise to go to because when I called corporate they said I could since I didn’t have any notes stating they couldn’t rent to me anymore. I get there and they told me there’s notes saying not to rent to me. This has been the most embarrassing, disgusted thing I ever been through. They treated me so slow and beneath them, and to have the upper advantage to take something away from me that they knew I loved so much. && not even to think the real reason I held on renting the Jeep is because my father died in a Jeep accident and instead of buying one, I was renting to feel like he was close to me again !!!!!! I am so hurt they would allow their employees to treat me this way & to think I don’t have any reasons to be angry and upset is beyond me!

The clerk that checked us out was not very friendly, did not explain fees and charges very well, when asked about a charge, said, well thats how Enterprise does it. The car was nice, not sure about cleaning process and sanitization with Covid as we watched the car arrive, drove around back of building and was brought back rinsed off, but still had dirt on floor. We wiped car down inside with clorox wipes ourselves. Clerk was wearing gloves and going from one car (person) to the next without changing gloves.

We had an OK experience. We took the Amtrak into Birmingham. Weeks prior to our trip, I called Enterprise to see if they could pick us up from the train station and to rent a car from them to finish our travels. The guy on the phone was super nice and said yes, and we rented a midsize SUV. We arrive at train station, I call an Enterprise employee comes to get us but arrives in a little car. 5 of us cram into the car. I load all our luggage into the trunk. He never once ask can he help. He just sits in the car. We get to Enterprise and the midsize SUV is not there and one not ready. They have a skeleton crew and very busy. We patiently wait and they finally bring around a minivan. I get in and the tire pressure light is on. I bring it to their attention and they fill the tires and off we go. On arrival day we pull in and they say they do not transport on Saturday and Sunday due to a skeleton crew. REALLY?? If they pick you up, you’d assume they would take you back. OR at least tell you this on the phone call when asking about transportation. We walked the 15 minutes to the train station in downtown Birmingham dripping in sweat due to the heat and hot sun. It was 1:00pm. We will not rent from this location again UNLESS it is the last place available. And I will have other means of getting us to and from the train station.

It was my sons birthday and his Grandparents purchased tickets for him and his brothers and sisters to attend an event this past weekend which was the last day for it. Renting from Enterprise put us behind by 2hrs after arriving 15 min early to pick up a vehicle on Sat. Get this, the Reservation was done on Wed. After waiting over an hour and 40 mins. That they were out of full size vehicles that I needed and another 30 mins after that was told could not rent midsize Infinity suv to cary my family an event that we arw now 2 hrs late to because I needed a major credit card. Perfect opportunity to go above and beyond but nope. Then called the customers srv line where I waited on hold for another hour before hanging up. But while waiting the system repeats we enjoy going the extra mile for our customers. I finally hung up. Going the extra mile, Lies!!!

Im not sure if the guy that checked me in was new or not. he was very friendly but didnt know much about the car. I had it for 5 days and had no idea how to open the back. There was no manual so it was a pain everytime I had to get my suitcase out. AM/FM radio these days dont work either spent 10 hrs driving with nothing but static. I was told to go to another Enterprise and let them check it out. I dont have time for that. Most places are closed due to the pandemic so it was a little further out of my way to pick up, but I totally get it.

Rented a vehicle for a business trip. Today definitely seemed like a hectic day due to rentals not being returned on time. But, everyone was super friendly, efficient and professional even when renters came in and became frustrated with the circumstances. I did have to wait awhile, but I saw everyone working hard to get people taken care of and the staff were extremely apologetic and upfront about why there would be a wait. Great location!

With past management here at this location we always use, if we bought the car back early they would prorate the price for the time we actually used the rental car. We always bring the cars back clean and extra gas in it and usually very early according to when the vehicle was originally rented till due to the case we might get caught in traffic on the way back with the vehicle. But this past time we brought the car in at least five hours early and was charged for two days when we picked up the car the day earlier around 10am and returned the car around I think around 1pm the very next day.I understand company policy, but it was the extra care and looking out for good customers and treating them fairly that the previous manager that got promoted to another store that kept us coming back for or rentals when we had business trips on the road. The only person that actually showed us true customer service and care, and not worried about running the price up as much as they could, was the original young man that did the check out n rental of the car whos name I cant remember but Im sure if yall look into it youll see who the good employee was that checked the car out to us.

The rental was good nice and clean. But when I went to turn it in cuz my insurance contact coverage was up and pay out of pocket to keep it the guy I dealt with was horrible rude and arrogant. Wanted all this proof of address Bills incident have with me cuz I just spoke with him earlier and he said bring ID and credit card just to get me down there and know I wouldnt have the other things he was then asking for.. which left me standing on side of the road and the rental place with all my things waiting on someone to come pick me up.he definitely doesnt need to work with the public.

The original reservation was for a large SUV and when I got there, they didnt have one. Tried to stick me in a mini van but thats not what I asked for. If they didnt have it, I wish they would have told me before I got there. So I had to go with another company for the weekend. Then on Sunday, i called and finally got a large suv but still not the one i asked for but i accepted the large suv. Just be honest with your customers about whats in stock before they drive there and you bait and switch. Because I wanted that particular vehicle for my own personal reasons and I was spending my money for it. Truth goes a lot further with me.

Super duper place, I ordered an economy car, and they didnt have one on the date of my scheduled pick up, so they upgraded me for free. The lady that helped me was very nice and informative, she smelled good. When we got in the renter car to take down the mileage, I started to drive off with her, but I thought about the trouble of explaining her to my wife and let her out.

I picked up a mini cooper in downtown Birmingham. I wasnt really shown the car or shown a walk around of the car before they gave me the keys and said I was good to go. The driver side door clicked extremely loudly every time you opened and closed the door. The car was absolutely disgusting inside, covered with sticky stuff that clearly showed the car was not cleaned at all; it was on the steering wheel, cup holders, doors, etc. The gas tank was at or just under 1/4 tank. The level to which they care for their cars is low, I would not recommend at all.

I get the best care when I go to enterprise downtown. I rent a car every week and it makes me feel good that they know me by name. Kenya is just a all around awesome person. Brittney and Christian always make me feel like family when I come in. They know my children by name and when they are not with me they always ask about them. I wouldnt go to another enterprise location because I dont think they could treat me better than the downtown employees treat me. They all deserve raises!

At this facility, the times of operation are convenient, and its minutes to the train station. They will pick you up at the AMTRAK station and drop you off after you return your car. The staff was pleasant to deal with. They gave me a free upgrade. This is the only downtown facility open on Saturdays until 3pm which was convenient for my train arrival. Other rental car facilities on Saturdays close at noon. The check in and return was very efficient and quick. Prices seem competitive.The only complaint that I have, and this is a major one--they are not required to have the tank filled up. My car had 1/4 of a tank of gas. This is not acceptable. Being that I was in a new town and was going to drive many miles to a far away location, and was unfamiliar with the location of gas stations in the area, I did not want to start out with very little gas and then have to look for a gas station right away. I wanted to be on my way and drive some distance before filling the tank up. The reservation person at the front desk informed me that only at airport locations are they required to give you a car filled up. Not good customer service. I am taking off a star for that. The tank should be on full when you are renting the car!

I was very pleased with the customer service at this Enterprise branch! Initially, I was waiting for them to get a full-size car available. After waiting 30 minutes, I expressed my need to get on the road as soon as possible so they provided me with a car that was above the full-size because it was already ready for use. I didnt have to pay more for it and I was able to get on the road quicker. So thanks for great service!

Scheduled a pick at 8am . Get there and they have no truck for me . They then take me across town to get a pickup. Arrive and the 1500 Ram looks like it hasn’t been washed in months inside and out . They wanted me to take it like that!!! I rent at least one car a month from enterprise after my last experience I will never rent again !

Ryan Cater and his employee were very professional and nice.Both gentleman that pick me up and drop me off were very friendly.My first car that I received smelled like smoke and didnt have no gas.I drove 3 miles down the road and gas light came on. I called and stated, the problems that I had with car to Ryan he didnt hesitate to tell me to bring the car right back and I did just that. If you are going to rent a car in Birmingham, AL make sure you rent it here at this downtown location. Max is an outstanding manager for Enterprise and really went above and beyond to make me satisfied. One of the National customer reps was very rude to me on the phone when I setup the reservation and Max really made up for it when I told him the situation. I would like to personally thank him for his efforts. My home was very far away; I was not familiar with the city, feeling a little overwhelmed in my travels and needed to get home fast. I would also like to thank Katie who picked me up and drove me to Enterprise to get my vehicle. She was on time, very friendly and made the whole process quick and easy. Everyone was very hospitable and made me feel at home and secure. Thank you all for getting me home with a smile!! I highly recommend.

Call wait times are TERRIBLE! Anytime I call this location it takes 20-30 minutes to talk to someone. It happened twice 2 weeks ago and on my 3rd call today... each time waiting FOREVER! They dont even answer the phone and ask me to hold. The call is immediately picked-up and placed on hold. While on hold earlier I waited for 19 minutes and then the call was disconnected all of the sudden (on a land line). Called right back and have currently been on hold for 31 min. Again, no one has picked up the phone and asked me to hold or apologized for the wait.

I rented a car last year in July for a family vacation with absolutely no problems .. everyone was so nice and even tho the line was long because it was a Sunday everything went by smoothly and quick and everybody was happy.... I recommend this location I had problems with the other places

When in need of a rental I prefer the 5th Avenue North location. They have always been on time picking me up and promptly take me back after returning the car. The employees have always been very helpful and knew their job well.I had a small emergency yesterday, with a little more than 30 minutes before time for them to close, I took a chance and called them. They did not disappoint! Jessica picked me up and handled my rental once back at the location. She was very courteous and efficient as well as the other two ladies in the office.I am really surprised at some of the reviews because I have never had a bad experience!Karen

This is actually one of the better Enterprise locations. I went here because of a car accident and the body shop where my car went was close by. When I arrived they did not have a car comparable to what I own and only had a small SUV. Did not want it but I took it because that is all they had and the service was pretty good.

Service rep was professional and wanted me to purchase the insurance and service fees if i broke down and had a flat. Car had just been pulled around from wash bay inside was vacuumed out windows on inside / radio had film on it that made it hard to see and the outside even though it had been washed they did not get all the bugs off. Driving with dirty windows is like wearing dirty eye glasses. i had to find a store to buy cleaning product and towels to clean windows before i could continue to drive.

My experience with this particular location went well. Mr. Burrows (sp) Asst. Mgr. was customer friendly and professional. He remembered the conversation I had with him from earlier in the day - regarding a time change request - upon my arrival. When I requested a tire check on the vehicle I was receiving he promptly acknowledge the request and provided another vehicle immediately after checking and finding those tires to be insufficient for rental/travel. I did not wait long at all for the new car and he waived the upgrade due to the unavoidable situation. My return went smoothly and I was asked to use this lot again in which I informed them I would. The customer service was good and Im big on being treated right as a consumer. This location is recommended to all that need rentals from the downtown area in Birmingham, AL.

Although Im a long term customer of Enterprise, I recently started renting from them at their 5th Ave. N. location. My first experience was not the best. After reserving a car, they didnt have one on the date/time I reserved. It was a bit annoying. Fortunately, my trip didnt have critical time elements so I took it in stride. I have to say though, it was a pretty uncomfortable hanging around the small reception area without even a magazine to peruse. Its be different if there were shops or restaurants nearby but everything was a number of blocks away. I have to say, the staff was anxious to get me going. They gave me the first car that arrived. Fortunately for me, it was an upgraded model.My most recent experience was much smoother. Not only did they have a car ready, they offered me an upgrade from Standard to Full Size. Overall Ive found the staff there and at most Enterprise locations to be helpful, efficient and generally good natured.
