Way better service and product than what i was getting from another vendor here that is based out of washington.

This was my experience with this division of fastanal, I Explain the part I needed several times over the phone (3/4” x18” F1554 grade 55 j bolt Galv. ) they ordered it in, a few days later I went to pick it up and it was the wrong part. They said they could have the new part in a few days, i re-explained the part again and then they said oh we can’t get that, it would be 1.5 weeks before we could get it. Set my schedule back. Not happy about their customer service especially since I was very clear every time I talked to them, the price was even off from what they originally quoted me. They didn’t try to reconcile the issue nor did they apologize.

Fastenal isnt a retail vendor. Its not an ACE hardware where there are tons of employees, or even a Home Depot or Lowes. The only other review for this Fastenal is 1-star, with no comment, by another Local Guide. That is someone who isnt a contractor, and expects retail service. A contractor wouldnt have time to write enough reviews in Google to get a Local Guide tag, and someone with a retail customer mindset is going to be turned off by a company which is essentially a warehouse staffed by a few knowledgeable employees, who deal 99% with contractors that also know product and typically buy a decent volume.That being said, these guys were helpful. I ended up going to the South Billings store (the only other Fastenal, close-by) because they had the TimberLock type lumber construction fasteners I needed. As both locations are close to one another, they can specialize in different areas.The staff also gave me some tips as to places to go where I could get some related metal studs I needed. GTS btw is the name.
