The devices from Wellbeck we have implemented have gone live in our production environment, yet they dont work properly. It is my impression that the devices are built in the primary techs garage, and the firmware is updated as requests are made for new features. Features which should have already been a part of the package. Simple tasks like passing DHCP requests werent in place. They had to be added. Most recently, a change was to be implemented in the devices to finalize our deployment. This change has left our WAN in disarray. Connections go up and down. Were receiving more complaints from our users than ever. IP Technology Labs devices are garbage. Dont put your network at risk.UPDATE: Most recently, we had a unit go down in Baltimore City. My boss and I traveled to that location to figure out what was wrong. You see, these boxes have two Internet connections. If one goes down, you can access the box from the other. Fortunately, we have back doors in to our computers on the secondary connection. After we lost connection with the IPTL box last night, we remoted in to a computer in an effort to contact the unit. We got in the computer. But couldnt contact the box. So when we arrived, we found the unit had a single light illuminated. We rebooted it and it finally came up. It appeared it had just... locked up. Second problem here? Weve found a bug in the units which prevents them from keeping certain static routes. Each time a unit is rebooted, it needs to have that route re-programmed. Notice the inherent problem with this statement? each time a unit is rebooted. They shouldnt have to be rebooted so often. I shouldnt have to watch my supervisor stress out so much because shes constantly chasing ghosts in these machines.I still stand by my statement on these devices, and this company. Find something better.
