We moved in a few weeks ago and our experience living here has been amazing!!!! Our apartment is beautiful, spacious and has tons of natural light. The office staff is so welcoming and friendly and truly went above and beyond to make our move in experience great!!! The improvements completed throughout the community over our short time here have made us feel even better about choosing to call the Montgomery home. Our neighbors are friendly and the amenities are awesome and always kept clean. We almost didnt choose to move here based on a few bad reviews, but we are SO happy we didnt let them stop us from picking this community.
I just moved in to my apartment and it is spacious, clean and tidy. The complex is located close to bus stops, a grocery store and other small shops, and two metro stations. The community is quiet, and the other residents have been very nice. Definitely move-in if you can!
Ive lived here for two years and love living here. Great location, beautiful apartment, nice amenities, and incredibly helpful and responsive leasing office team. In particular, Gloria and Melissa have gone above and beyond lately to help me with approximately one zillion things. They are always kind, friendly, and helpful, and make me feel supported and welcomed living here. Would definitely recommend The Montgomery Apartments :)
Run Do not consider this community. The location is great thats it.The secured doors were unsecured half the times. The garage doors were always broken. The secured side entrance is never locked. The main office doors are always open anyone can walk in at any time. When we first got there our dishwasher was old and had mold in it. Yes. We asked for a new one it took two weeks. We then got a new dishwasher and the dishwasher had mold, I have tons of pictures .My family and I stayed in the first floor and lived there for 3 years. The windows and floors had mold and we were constantly spraying and cleaning the windows. When we moved out, under our bed had mold, my shoes were filled with mold. I like to leave people alone and mind my business but when you try and take advantage just because you can its not fair. There are many new buildings for just about the same price. This place is not it. The online pictures look good but once you get in you see the trap and its too late.
The Montgomery apartments is a wonderful place to call home. I moved in this week and Jalisa was awesome in assisting me from start to finish. I got a chance to meet everyone in the office and the whole team were great! I received a nice move in gift and another tour to my apartment. I recommend everyone consider The Montgomery apartments for their next home!
The Montgomery apartments is where you should call home! I moved here recently with my daughter and we are happy to call this place home. The staff were amazing as well. Jalisa helped make my move in smooth and easy. Gloria, Melissa, & Jennifer were all very helpful as well when Jalisa was busy. I have lived at a lot of other communities but none as wonderful as The Montgomery. You should rent here!
I just moved into these apartments. The whole team has been great about answering any questions I had, helping me with the lease and move-in process, how the callbox works, etc. I have been quite impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the facilities, the dedication of the maintenance team, and the quietness of the community! Highly recommend this apartment complex!
A nice community that is conveniently located to I-270 & 495. My light filled apartment has a wonderful layout with a property manager who goes above and beyond to make sure my requests are met in a timely manner. Thanks to Oscar Servellon and his team…I have continued to renew my lease year after year.
Excellent service. Melissa was very detailed and answered all our questions.
Just moved to the community a week ago and already feel very welcomed by our neighbors. Our dog has made several new friends and is settling in well and enjoying the community dog park. We love our apartment and how much sunlight our unit gets. Management has been very accommodating and helpful when we have questions and maintenance requests. We’re excited to live here and can’t wait to meet more neighbors.
I do not recommend this complex. The new management is only concerned with squeezing every dollar from residents while cutting services and safety. They raise rents above the recommended Montgomery county rent increase percentages. It took nearly 1 year to get elevators, garage doors, and roofs repaired. BTW: the garage doors still dont close, creating another security concern. In cases when something stopped working, such as sidewalk lighting, they simply removed the lights and covered the outlet with a rock - problem solved according to them! It does not matter that the area is now pitch black. The buildings were designed to have the hallways heated and cooled. This is because the apartment walls and doors facing the hallways are not insulated. However, the management team has elected NOT to run AC or Heat. This results in a 15% to 25% increase in each residents utility bill every month. The cost of operating these hallway units is already factored into the rental price. Residents are paying for services they are not receiving. It is hard to believe, but see the photo, that a bathroom door handle with lock was installed on an exterior building door! The locking mechanism on the outside. Forget about the issue of using interior hardware designed for a lightweight door on a heavy metal exterior door. What happens when there is an emergency and the door is in the locked position, and people need to get out of the building in a hurry. Unless you have a screwdriver or coin in your hand, precious moments will be lost trying to unlock the door. Unfortunately, this is not the only instance of an improper lock being installed on a door that should not have a lock. There are several other locations throughout the complex. There is no excuse for this since there is a Home Depot LESS than 1 mile away.
Been here almost a year, really love it. Management staff is great. Lots of dogs but the property remains clean. Fast response maintenance staff, will probably renew my lease!
It’s a very nice, clean and quiet community. Not so far from many stores and shops. It’s always nice waking up to the birds chirping and a view of the garden!- Rating: 5.0 stars
I have nothing bad to say about The Montgomery. The apartment is great (The best one I have ever lived in), the location is great, and the staff is top-shelf. Specifically, Jalisa & Gloria in the office are without a doubt amazing. Anything I have needed from them has been met with attention & care, not to mention that they both know me on a first name basis, which immediately show me their commitment to their job & their tenants. Thanks, guys!
We moved here April 28th and have no complaints at all. Maintenence has been responsive to our requests, with some teaching/learning Goin a long way. They have made a few repairs, as well, and always are professional and cognizant of our privacy.
Honestly this is probably one of the nicest apartment complexes that I’ve been in. The parking garage attached with close proximity to the highway while still maintaining a suburban feel with the forest feel in close proximity combined with the amenities, the support of small businesses, and amazing maintenance and support of the leasing office has been great!
I have to start by saying moving during a pandemic is no walk in the park! My family and I have faced many setbacks. The office staff here at The Montgomery has been super helpful, diligent, and just plain understanding and sweet during the whole process! The assistant property manager Melissa is wonderful at what she does. She has been delightful and ready to take on any challenges to make our experience the best I have had. Weve been here a few weeks and just love it so far. The grounds are beautiful and our neighbors have been welcoming. Thank you for setting an easier path for our move from NY!
I appreciate the front office staff. They are doing the best they can do. The problem for this complex is the maintenance crew and the consistent cutting of corners. Peoples cars are being broken into, including my roommates. We have been sleeping in 40 degree bedrooms because the maintenance crew haven’t been able to solve the issue for over 2 months now. It would be nice to know that their is a security camera in the garage so the theft can at least be caught.
So far my family is enjoying living at the Montgomery Apartments!! The office staff is very nice and our apartment is beautiful, my favorite part of our home is the large bathroom
My whole leasing experience was excellent from application to move in❤️ Jalisa was really helpful and patient through the whole process....whenever I stop by prior to moving in the entire office was very courteous and helpful!!!Kudos to the Montgomery Apartment office Staff
I love living at these apartments, mine had almost everything that I wanted on my wish list. I like that these apartments are so pet-friendly, and the staff have been very accommodating and helpful under every circumstance.I do wish that pets were allowed in the courtyards though, or that there was at least one courtyard that allowed pets. And finally, I wish that these apartments had an EV charging station- most apartments in this area have upgraded to include this. But aside from these two things, I think this place is perfect- with a safe, clean and friendly environment.
We moved into the Montgomery Apartments in North Bethesda about a year ago at the height of the Pandemic breakout. Everything had to be handled online & via phone, & the staff was really great about accommodating all our needs & wants in scouting out the apartments. We really appreciated all their efforts in helping us to find just the right apartment in the complex, especially as we were staying in an AirBnB with little time left after moving cross country. They really went above and beyond! We especially want to give a nod and big thank you to Gloria, who has really been there for us throughout our residency so far right from the beginning (she really was amazing & a big part of why we decided to rent here), and to Casey as well for being so great. Now that weve been here almost a year, we felt it was time to write up a proper review for anyone interested in the complex. There are a lot of old reviews for the property that arent great, and that did almost put us off renting here, but we are happy to report the property is now really actually quite fabulous - and the staff is SO great. Our apartment is spacious, comfortable, attractive, and has all the amenities. Washer / Dryer, all the kitchen appliances plus disposal, and the air conditioning and heat are great in the main areas. (The air conditioning is a bit weak in the bedroom & they cant seem to fix it but we manage with a supplemental fan.) Its also the QUIETEST place weve ever lived. You can hear traffic noise a bit at times, but with the windows closed, it is really amazing how quiet it is here. And if you do have any noise issues, management is happy to help. You may read a lot of old reviews about the ELEVATORS. Just to be clear, they work now! Every now and then they may not be available because someone is moving in or out, but otherwise they work just fine. Also, the garage doors & callboxes were recently updated as well. There are Amazon lockers for package delivery, all the property amenities you could want, and we even get regular food trucks on property which is AWESOME.I have a weird, rare chronic illness that makes me highly allergic to many things, and I am disabled, which makes accessability very important & means I have had some special needs for my accommodations here. I have been so pleased that Montgomery (& Gloria & Casey & all the fab staff) have been super supportive & helpful in making sure I have everything I need to live comfortably, safely, & happily here. Ive even had to make a few big asks and theyve found ways to make them happen cheerfully & without complaint. Also, the maintainance and cleaning staff are terrific here (shoutout to Wilson - so nice!).Lastly, the location is just fabulous. Its tucked back away from the hustle & bustle in its own little space like a wonderful little village. Right now we have a huge green space all around the property and we hope it will stay that way for a long time, but we know there are always people building things. There is a grocery store, pharmacy & shopping center within walking distance, and a big mall just five minutes away by car. Plus, if you work in the city or down in D.C., the commute isnt bad at all.We kind of really dont even want to tell anyone about how much we really love living at Montgomery Apartments because we dont want it to become too popular and the quite reasonable current rents go up but it is so hard to find a great place to live it seems wrong not to share. So we have to recommend it, even if wed rather keep it our own little secret hideaway.- Real Actual Happy Residents 😁
Was getting ready to take a job opportunity so I started my search. The Montgomery became my top 1. With this new normal I find it hard looking for places but Gloria was GREAT! I didnt end up taking the job as something came up but if a better opportunity comes back up I will be applying to live here.
I thoroughly enjoyed living at The Montgomery. It is extremely close to multiple downtown areas and there is tons to do. The complex has great amenities.Only issue I had was neighbors need to learn how to dispose of trash properly and the garage door hardly worked.
Despite the current crazy times and the social distancing, finding, examining and moving to a spacious apartment in the same community where I was living with my family since 2018 wouldnt be convenient without the sincere help and follow up from Melissa from the management office. Melissa was very responsive with a problem solving orientation that helps overcome the ongoing uneasiness currently. During the past 2 years we observed true efforts by the community management to enhance the quality of living, this was crowned recently by finally fixing the garages doors and elevators, and previously upgrading the gym area with hope such efforts will continue to include installing easy accessibility for the people with disabilities, especially from the parking side. The community enjoys a great location, a walking distance from old Georgetown rd, where one can find everything they need.
I lived in the Montgomery Apartment between 2014-2018 at that time it was a different Management, things were ok (maintenance, amenities, etc..) but customer service was not the best to say the least. Recently, my sister moved to the Montgomery, I wasn’t excited about it even looking for apartments for her there, but the location was great especially for schools. It is then when we met Melissa and she is the reason why I am taking the time to write this review, what an amazing customer service you can feel her passion to help us “ the customers” and her commitment to make the Montgomery community the best place you can choose to live in. She successfully changed my opinion about the place, she never failed to impress and I admit I am not an easy customer to impress. If you are looking for an apartment there, I highly recommend working with her. The community in general is great too !!
Excellent place to live! Great maintenance!
Really enjoying to live at The Montgomery Apartments. Great staff, clean, safe, and wonderful neighbors.
My experience so far in the community has been real good.- I moved into the community last December and from the start I could tell this was going to be a wonderful place.- 15 month lease is a great option for renting. Also they they have great military discounts, which is very important to me.- All maintenance is taken care of in a timely manner most of the time. My one complaint is with this though. Ive had to follow up 2 to 3 times on some occasions to get maintenance resolved but when the job is complete its at a real good quality.Overall a great place!
I’ve lived at The Montgomery for over two years now and I love it! The customer service is GREAT! The office staff is super friendly and the community events are fun & thoughtful with you, the resident in mind. In my opinion, there’s no better place to call “home.”
Great community. A little troubles getting in contact with the office but once we talked, Melissa was a great help to us. Maybe it would be beneficial if the complex installed charging stations for cars
I’m waiting on my refund.
Honestly one of the best communities Ive seen in my life, I love how accepting and helping the settlement is. I look forward to coming home.
My original review was not their finest but with the bad, you also get the good! The staff are the heart of this community. They listen and they care and they do everything they can to make sure the residents are happy. I have been so impressed by their responsiveness throughout the pandemic and the level of grace they have given us all as we navigate a tough time. The grounds are beautiful and the puppies are plenty. Thank you guys for all you do!
I was moved by the rapid response of the apartment staff. And since high school is close, I dont worry about Ride.I like the apartment because its clean.Im very satisfied.
Been living here 3 years now, and would highly recommend it. You cant beat the location, as youre 30 seconds from 270 and 495. Plus Giant is in walking distance, not to mention the school system is like the best in the state if youre into the whole children thing. The apartments themselves are pretty decked out now with their own laundry room, high end finishes, and features like fireplaces and lofts. Plus youve got a 24 hour gym, a pool, covered parking, free coffee in the office, a dog park.... list goes on. Maintenance and the office staff have both always been good to us over the years through ownership changes and through thick and thin. Its a pretty tight and friendly community overall and pet friendly to boot. Noise is the only concern I would point out, since you are living in an apartment (filled with - god forbid - other people) and sandwiched between a highway and a future construction project. Cant really fault the Montgomery for any of that though, you knew what youre signing up for when you chose apartment living. Plus, you know, great location for the price. I see a lot of complaints about new management but they are tackling projects left and right. In the last few months theyve renovated the gym, added beautiful stone grills to the courtyards, replaced all the lighting in the garages and shared spaces, added a dog park, and now theyre cleaning up the carpets. Change takes time, but the effort is there.
My boyfriend and I just moved into the Montgomery Apartments. We had an amazing experience from move in day and on. The Montgomery team made us feel right at home. Shelia at the leasing office always answered my questions, even when they were obvious, and made sure we had everything we needed. Im excited for the remainder of our year!
Today was supposed to be the move-in date for the apartment. The staff members made me wait in the lobby for 90 minutes to give me the keys. After complaining about the 90 minute wait time, they replied with such a rude behavior. Theyre so rude and unprofessional and they dont know what theyre doing.Dont be fooled by their behavior before you sign the lease agreement.
I cannot recommend this place. The elevators in the garage are the only elevators for all the buildings. There is 1 elevator for each garage, 2 for the entire complex or basically one really because the other is of no use to you as there is no physical access between the garages. This makes moving in and out painful. (moving should really only go one way...out).But if you thought 1 was insufficient, try NONE. For over a year at least one of the elevators has been broken or unusable on and off. Most recently, weve been 2 months and counting without any effort to fix it. But despite this grotesque failure, management had the gall to send out an email demanding people drag heavy items including furniture down multiple flights off stairs or risk eviction. Meanwhile they still havent fixed the elevator. And if the elevators ever actually worked, you would still have to drag anything you bring in up a steep flight of stairs for each floor because the garage is not appropriately aligned with the building. Did I forget to mention you have to get over a curb before you even get to those stairs? I once hurt my back trying to get groceries in on a cart...unsurprisingly difficult with stairs and dangerous.I once watched a disabled elderly man struggle by the inch to walk up 4 levels of the garage ramps. Why? the elevators were out again. So if you have the misfortune of living here, dont break a leg, dont develop any temporary or permanent mobility issues, just dont get injured because youll be screwed and management wont care. Better yet, dont live here, you can do better.
Before the management company says that I’m not in their system, check again. I’ve lived here for 3 years. The maintenance staff are terrific and the leasing office folks are nice if you can get a hold of them, but that’s where good service ends.Pre-COVID:Count on getting guest cars towed because the leasing office that issues the permits is opened from 10-6, right when you’re most likely to be at work. Whether you’ve got an emergency or just have an unexpected visitor after hours, their car is getting towed and it’s a pretty penny to get it back. There is also a good chance you’ll have a package go missing because the Amazon hub is a mess and the leasing office disclaims all responsibility for any missing packages. Most annoying is their practice of pressuring residents into an oddly termed and intricate-to-the-point-of-laughable lease renewal agreement 3 months before the lease is up, which makes it seem like they don’t care about keeping residents in units. It’s the apartment building equivalent of a puppy mill. They squeeze every last cent out of you with leasing cost metrics that shift on the daily. One year it was most financially advantageous for me to sign a 13 month lease, the next year it was 11 months. Having lived in apartments for my entire adult life, I find it a crazy way to do business, and almost cost-prohibitive to stay in the same apartment for more than the lease term. Also, if you’re in a bind and have to go month to month, count on an 80% increase in the cost of your monthly rent.Post-COVID:The leasing company has had a stronger response to residents not using the trash chute properly than they have to residents throwing large-party gatherings with unmasked guests in common areas while COVID is still an issue. There is no oversight or enforcement of policies addressing the COVID crisis, and the lack of management’s presence on-site is becoming an increasingly obvious problem. The amenities are nice as are the actual apartments (walls between floors are a little thin so count on hearing your neighbors), but the “community” vibe they are trying to fabricate waxes insincere because of leading practices that remind you that you’re renting from a company at the end of the day.
Ever since the Berkshires of Rock Spring were sold to Montgomery the quality went way down. I recently moved out of the Montgomery after living in the complex for almost 7 years. Originally, we had no intention of moving but do to the way the staff were cold and unprofessional and barely knew our names. Just building and apt number. The carpets in the hallways were disgusting and we stopped inviting guests over because we felt embarrassed of the condition. The last time we needed maintenance it took 10 days and me going in the office twice to remind them of the request, they just really had no response, but when Oscar came his response was sorry, it slipped through the cracks... Really... For what our rent was there, that was a lame excuse. Now we have finally moved and are thrilled with our new apartment and up to our standards for the same price. To add, the walls are very thin and we could hear the woman below us screaming at her kids and the people above us letting their kids run wild at all hours of the night hearing constant stomping. When I complained several times about it, basically they asked me if I wanted another apartment. We are very happy to be out of there needless to say
Two thumbs down!Lived here for couple years. Terrible management. Cut corners everywhere but increasing rents. When sidewalk lites go out, entire light fixture removed from ground instead of fixing, making very dangerous at night (very dark).Someone finally called them out about hallway air conditioning not working. But don’t hold you breath. It will never get fixed.Yes, Tony, I can fault them about noise. Inferior carpeting and padding used – thinnest padding available, less than quarter inch. And if 270 only 30 seconds away, you must be one of the drivers speeding through garage and community.Yes Bret, these girls lie, or maybe clueless. Garage doors will never work for more than 2 week. History supports this.Hazardous car oil and changing pans next to kids bike rakes, used car batteries scattered in garage, broken refrigerators and hot water tanks stay in high traffic areas of garage over month where kids come into contact.Office told many times about pet owners not following county leash laws – nothing done.Broken gym equipment along with broken gym AC. Cheapest wipes used and may go more than month when run out. Cannot call them “wet wipes” because they are not wet. CHEAP! Can not expect much from management. Gym renovation took more than 2 months – just paint and rug – except for clock and poster which took 11 months to re-hang. Scale broken during renovation and never fixed. Sometimes weights you at 100 pounds, sometimes 180 pounds – secret is to stand on left side and u feel good about being overweight.Courtyards reduced to mulch fields – beautiful shrubs and flowers – gone.
Just applied for an apartment and my leasing specialist was Melissa she was super friendly and very personable. She made me feel right at home and I can’t wait to see what the apartment has in store! She is absolutely AMAZING !!! Thank So far so good!!!
AVOID! Management of this complex changed a year ago. As a result, the quality of living has taken a nose-dive; this current staff has absolutely no respect for the residents.Residents have no say in the changes that are made to their home, nor who enters your apartment. For example, the kitchen sink previously had a nice faucet with a removable head that allowed you to better clean your dishes and sink. However, management changed these to Eco-friendly faucets, that use more water. BTW, the new faucets are not officially rated as Eco-Friendly. It was just something management wrote to make it seem they were doing us a favor.Residents are usually not given the required 24 hour notice for when maintenance will enter your apartment. Rather the notice states something similar to: Starting Feb 1 maintenance will enter your apartment, which means maintenance can enter your apartment 3 weeks later without any further notice - yes, this has occurred several times during the last year - shameful. And now, they are requiring apartments to be inspected and have mandatory treatment for pests. Once again, residents have no say as to whether harmful chemicals will be applied in their home. In addition, the message does not specially state what the inspection involves. These apartments do not feel like home so avoid at all costs! Finally, dont bother meeting with the staff to further discuss the issue. All you are told is you must comply, usually very sarcastically - yes, I do have experience with this staff.
Maintenance staff is super slow. The parking garage is broken 70% of the time. Had water breach (nothing major) twice already in 8 months.Even with all that, this is a good apartment to be at. Nice location and close to work and shopping places. Definitely pricey for what you get in return, but overall good enough.
They are lier and they dameg ure credit be carful they do lie aolt
As you can see from the reviews below, this place has gone downhill once The Montgomery took over. I am not one to write reviews but I am sick of the lack of responsiveness. We have had lights out on the top floor of the parking garage for over 4 months. They have 8 total lights on our side and 5 of them are out. Myself and others have sent several emails asking for them to be replaced. This is extremely dangerous and I am shocked they have not been replaced yet. The sad part is the 1st 3 floors just had all of the lights upgraded and we cant even get lights on the top level. The staff is rude and unresponsive. Except for Ansiley, she is the best and one of the only reason I still live here. There have been several times when they are not open within their weekend hours. I once waited an hour for someone open. Whenever I walk in everyone tries to act like they dont see you.During the winter months you can expect minimal help with the snow. Never feels like the snow is plowed in a timely manor and the sidewalks are worse. With the bad, I will also bring up the good....The apartments are a good size and the pricing is decent for the area. The increases are not friendly though! The location is ideal and convenient to the highway and easy to get into DC. The schools in the area are great and there is tons to do in the area.1/11/2019 - thank you for commenting below. I have still not seen the necessary changes to the parking lot. I think 1 light has been fixed which we are thankful for but there is still several more that are out.All I am asking is that you salt the side walks and parking lots before or quickly after it snows.
Just moved in with my wife and our child, despite being going through an important transition in our life, and settling was extremely needed in this stage for us as a family. This is what the Montgomery apts represents to us currently. With Cindys support from the management and leasing office, her positive attitude, problem solving orientation and kindness made us feel more settled and restful in mind. The property is so clean and very well facilitated, it is noticeable the effort been put by the management to upgrade the place and the amenities. A walking distance from Giant and many other nearby shops and restaurants, a shuttle serves the residents back and forth to the nearest metro station twice a day, a friendly and responsive management, all checked.
Great staff, location, and amenities. Right next to 270 and Montgomery mall but a super quiet location. Tons of wildlife across the street in the unfinished Rock Spring Centre. Excellent coffee in the lounge. Better than Starbucks & free! Also have an Amazon HUB (lockers) to get your packages 24x7 without worrying about theft.I entered a work order this morning for a broken sink. It was fixed by 11:00 am!
Overall, I enjoyed my 1.5 years at The Montgomery. I only moved because of my job. Its one of the cheaper options with enough square footage in the Bethesda/North Bethesda area. They allow pets, which is necessary for my visiting pup (I dont have him full-time). I appreciated the garage parking, but the garage door was broken and stuck in an open position half of the time I lived there. That didnt bother me though. I didnt hear my neighbors too much compared to past apartments Ive been in. I was irritated when they switched the kitchen faucet without asking the residents, but there was nothing else I could do. The gym is well stocked, but definitely with older equipment. Packages are delivered to the Amazon Hub right next to the gym, which was awesome. I never used the pool, so cant say anything about that. They clean the hallway carpets regularly, but some hallways smell like pee. I wouldnt say thats the apartment complexs fault, but rather the a-hole neighbors who let their dogs do that. Same thing with dog poo found outside, as the poo stations are always well stocked with poo bags. Maintenance was sometimes an issue, but Id reach out to Ainsley (shes the best!) and shed get it taken care of. I wished they would pick up the trash and recycling more often because it would overflow by Sunday night. I will say though, sometimes it was because people are a-holes and wouldnt put the trash in the chute but rather leave it outside. The worst was when they wouldnt switch on the AC yet in the spring. Our apartment got to 78F and I couldnt open the windows since it was too humid and I have terrible spring allergies. I know I just ended on a bad note, but honestly I was happy with The Montgomery. Also, have I mentioned that Ainsley is the best?
Fantastic place to live. Quiet community and great staff. Responsive maintenance crew keeps or unit in working order.
Excellent work, quick response and fast repairs!! Keep up the great work
I visited Berkshire at Rock Springs about 1 month ago and met with Melanie, one of the Leasing Agents. She was very helpful during the tour and answered all my questions with professionalism. The apartments are very nice and large, the community is well-kept. Thank you again Melanie, for your great customer service!!
Ive been here since April 2018 with my dog and were loving it! Sheila, Cindy, Katie, Ainsley, and cant forget Oscar, continue to be absolutely welcoming and are the perfect team to address any questions or concerns. The environments are constantly maintained and cleaned. Havent had any issues with my 1 bdrm/1 bath. Cant list all the amenities here but was lucky to move in after renovations so the clubhouse with games, business center, etc. is brand new, definitely enjoyed watching some of the World Cup games with friends there. Location speaks for itself with 270/495 a turn away, shopping center is a short walk, mall and the Cabin John Park/dog park is right on the other side. Also enjoy the app they use for paying rent and submitting any other requests conveniently. Last but not least, have made great friends with my neighbors and have had several BQQs this summer. I definitely recommend this place for any family or working professional.
The door lock was fixed properly. I appreciate the quick response.
Ms. Boyd, Property Manager, is amazing, kind, helpful and caring. She takes her time to listen to residents’ concerns and feedback. She follows up with appropriate /effective measures to resolve residents’ issues... I’m really elated with the maintenance staff, particularly the manager, who went above and beyond to assist with a service request. This property building’s layout is beautiful, lots of trees and several amenities to choose from...The apartments here are chic and well-kept....Only reason I have not given a perfect 5 star yet is that I would love to see improvement with the cleaning crew because garbage areas, particularly in the 4th floor need to be maintained more efficiently and frequently. Carpets need to be vacuumed or changed completely in the hallways because they’re badly stained.... Leasing staff though is quite pleasant and willing to provide excellent service. I would say so far so good :)) 👍👌
A great place to live!
Went downhill with the new management. Several amenities (like shuttle service to the Metro) were removed. If you work during the day, you better plan on getting to the office before 5:30 pm or show up on Saturday. The management staff is more argumentative than helpful--and always right. Its a shame that this property has gone downhill.
Hi everyone. Im a new resident.Happy to get familiar any Iranian person.
Everything is great except that they let me move in without verifying the hot water worked first 😡
Roberto fixed the issue and was polite and professional.
Love it!! I am writing this on 7-26-18. I rarely put reviews on here but I googled the community name to go in to the portal and pay my rent and saw that it had a low rating. I read through the various complaints and wanted to say that wasnt my experience. There have been a few management changes over the years but nothing was that bad and the new team is awesome. I see they are making a real effort in responding the people who had issues in their review.Go see this place and talk to the new management. Seriously, see for yourself instead of solely relying on some cranky persons review. Have them walk you through the community and go see one of the apartments first hand. I know quite a few of my neighbors and they all have good things to say. Ask people you see. I think most happy and content people arent on here commenting so you just get the nay sayers. For the area, I think it is the best choice. Tons of trees. The 24 hour giant is basically a block away, with Chipotle and Beer/Wine Store all in the same shopping center. It is close to everything but feels a bit like you are in your own little secluded park. This is also def one of the most pet friendly places I have seen this close to the beltway. Anyways, see for yourself.B-
Cindy is awesome! She is always on her A game for all my questions/concerns which get addressed right away. She knows how to get the job done!
Yes Cindy Tombini was the consummate professional at all times and she went that extra mile with me to get an issue I had resolved with the third party reportShe was kind, understanding, fair and human with me the entire time .. that really stood out for me especially in a society where good Customer service seems to have disappeared these days !Kudos Cindy Tombini.. kudos!
Parking system is atrocious. Will tow cars at the drop of a hat and do not have a good system for parking passes. I have a guest spending the night from out of state. Called office to get a parking pass and they promised to leave it for us to pick up. They never did leaving us completely hosed with .no way to contact anyone to sort it out.
A friend of mine was here for five years. In the five years the rent went up $100 every year. So now this is the third owner of the place. And now you’ll have to see who the next person comes along and buys it. Because nobody wants to spend the money to fix what the problems are. Two are the major problems is the heating and air-conditioning. We had problems with our air-conditioning and other people we talk to had problems with their heating system.
Cindy, the leasing agent is fantastic and helps with any needs I may have in a timely fashion!
RUN! Save yourself a lot of problems and rent elsewhere. Fairfield Residential took over the property about a year ago, and since then things have gotten bad fairly quickly. The hallway carpeting is absolutely disgusting. Its full of dog poop and urine stains and you can smell it throughout the hallway. The power in the buildings go out every other week for no apparent reason. The maintenance staff does not respond to requests for weeks at a time. When they do respond, the problem doesnt get fixed. Ive lived here for two years, and this actually use to be a nice place I wouldve recommended. Im so glad my lease is almost up.
Overall, these are mediocre apartments, but they ask a premium price considering youre not close to a metro stop.First, unless youre on the top floor - you WILL hear your neighbors above you. Every time they walk around the apartment, every time they watch a movie, etc. The floors seem to amplify sounds coming from above. One of the nearby neighbors had a dog they left in the apartment all day. On the rare occasions I was at the apartment on a weekday, the dog could be heard yapping all day long and was scratching at the doorway. Neighbor kids ran down the hall on occasion with the sound of a buffalo stampede.Second, security is, for all intents and purposes, non-existent. The front doors to each building require key fob access which is a start...but the back doors to the parking garage are wide open. Combine that with the fact that (a) the parking garage doors are simply held open many days and (b) its super-easy to follow behind others, means that the buildings really arent secure at all. There were several reports and letters sent to residents about loitering and security issues in the parking garages. The garages also tended to be quite dirty with litter. Possibly just a few bad neighbors in our area that left their trash though. The apartments are out-dated and dark. Quite depressing for a market-rate, expensive apartment. Barely any sunlight peaks in because out the windows is a very nice view of...another building. When the lease was signed, guest parking was available for free and amenities were included. Mid-way through the year, they began charging for guest parking permits and require an hourly rate for the clubhouse because of vandalism and problematic residents. On the (very limited) plus side, the front of the buildings are well-maintained. My fiancé lived here for almost a year - fortunately, the leasing office messed up the lease end-date in a way that worked out in our favor to move out 2 months earlier without paying a penalty.
Living here has become a NIGHTMARE lately. I have lived in this apartment since 2013. Since then, the apartment has changed its name and the management team. Ever since, the experience here is getting worse. Our dishwasher has been down more than two months. Maintenance team has visited three times since then. However, they havent figure it out how to fix it. They told us that they are coming back tomorrow to fix it again and a week has past. Additionally, sound proof between upper and lower unit is awful. You can literally hear every step. My upper unit was drilling and hammering even after 12:00 am. They walk like crazy and our family couldnt sleep at night. Complaint twice with long and detailed explanation and I havent heard anything from the management. Can you believe this? AVOID! This is my best advice for anyone looking for new apartments.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Stars have been adjusted since their service has improved a bit lately. However, I have an interesting update. My car was towed right after my guest parking pass has expired. The day after. The car was towed on August 15th and the pass expired on 14th.The fault is all mine since I was not doing my due diligence. But here is something interesting.Previously, the leasing office allowed maximum of a month for the guest parking duration. Of course, it is not free. Recently, they changed the policy from one month to two weeks.Well, the change of the policy obviously worked. I had to visit the leasing office more frequently, which can be annoying from time to time, and I slipped ONE DAY causing my car towed. My wife and I decided to purchase the permanent parking pass to avoid this kind of situation in the future. In my opinion, this is what they are aiming for and they did a great job.FYI, the towing costs $156 + Uber trip fee if you want to claim your car by yourself. Also, the towing company did not leave any signs and I had to give a call to the county police station to figure out whether my car was stolen or towed.I wish this review helps others for avoiding what I had to go through.
The staff was understanding and extremely helpful!
I have lived 3 years at Montgomery Apts and have been very happy with everything: affordable (give 5% employer discount), awesome location right next to HW 270 and Montgomery Mall, safe, garage parking, gym, pet friendly, well maintained, full size washier and driers inside each apt, package locker system, nice and helpful staff.
Friendly staff and clean amenities. Gym is well stocked!
I currently live at this broke down palace. Let me start of by saying that the leasing office is the most unorganized, rude, and unprofessional rental office you will experience. When I was applying they lost my personal, information multiple times (red flag), they lost a package of mine for three weeks. I had called the company feverishly complaining, tracked the package through the carrier service and it had been signed for three weeks prior by the leasing office. I had gone down three times asking if they had it explaining my situation, then one day it magically appeared. My most recent frustration occurred with the manager Erica. I was sch to move into a MPDU unit to save money. When I viewed the apartment I decided it wouldnt work, it hadnt been updated since the complex has been built, the old laminate tiles are dirty, the peeling cabinets, the old appliances, especially since there are so many brand new developments I can move into. So I looked at the apartment on a Wednesday and Thursday I informed the leasing office I wouldnt be taking the unit. I would remain in my current apartment throughout the month. I asked what my remaining payment was bc I was now paying month to month and I had paid a chopped up prorated portion w parking/water/sewage etc. The next morning at 10:23am Erica wrote me an email stating that it was fine that I didnt want the apartment and if I wanted to look at other options I could. Which I though was nice. The an email at 10:25am that stated if I didnt pay the rest of my rent by 12pm they were sending a letter to a lawyer to sue me!!! I got home from work at 4:30pm that evening and hadnt even seen the email. When I opened it I was blown away, the evening before I emailed the office to ask what I owed so I could PAY MY RENT. I still was never given an amount and I was threatened w a suit on a Friday and didnt get it until the afternoon. I have never been so mad and frustrated w an office in my entire life.
I lived at Berkshires for a year. We lived in a Calvert 1BR with loft and really enjoyed it.Being on the top floor ensured we had little noise to deal with. We faced a courtyard and only heard the noise from there when we had our windows open.Mail is on the first floor in each building. Unfortunately, because of the controlled access (even though mail could come in), the packages went straight to the office 95% of the time. I was constantly in the office, which made me feel like I was some obsessive package checker (I get print orders delivered a lot from my photography business sessions.)Maintenance was almost always prompt and got the job done. The leasing staff was always kind.Stephanie was wonderful to work with. She organizes a lot of on-site events for residents and we really enjoyed the ones we got to attend. Stephanie was always a great pleasure to work with! The location is really convenient to 495 and 270. While most of the shops nearby and within walking distance were pricey boutiques and restaurants, youre only a 15 minute drive from good food in Rockville and downtown Bethesda.Amenities were nice. The gym was spacious and the pool is large, though I rarely used it. The club room with pool table was a really great place to hang out, although they began charging a large hourly rate if you have more than 5 or so people in your group in the room. That was kind of a bummer, as we really wanted to use it but werent willing to pay what I think was close to 75/hour or daily of 400.Parking was nice for us, as we were on the 4th floor. Often, we would park on 3rd to save our cars from the sun or snow. If nothing was close on 3rd, 4th was always fine. The parking deck does take at least 1.5 minutes to drive up to 3rd or 4th because it winds around. It can be difficult when two cars are trying to turn a corner at the same time. This isnt really something that can be fixed and it wasnt too much of a nuisance.Overall, we really enjoyed our apartment. We left because we were moving to another state. Otherwise, we would have signed another year lease. I always felt safe here and loved how beautiful the complex is. I would definitely recommend Berkshires.
Property is poorly maintained. Foul smelling hallways with urine and feces stained carpeting.
Worst apartment ever. Management is awful, no curtesy or understanding of customer service. They never put the customer first. Neighbors dont pick up after pets. They actually charge u to have guest come visit, if they stay overnight they will charge u for that.
