Needed to reset an iPhone but wasnt able to because its screen was broken. I called Fix that Mac and they offered to temporarily replace the screen for me so that I could erase the phone. I was very impressed by the staffs eagerness to help, and the whole process was very quick and professional. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs an iPhone repaired.

This place is awesome. My husband has been going here for years and highly recommends them. So when I cracked the screen on my iPhone it was the 1st place we thought of. I did shop around just to make sure I was getting the best price and to see if my phone was even worth it. They not only had the best price but my phone was fixed like new in an hour. The service was above and beyond.

I spilled coffee all over my laptops keyboard and I thought it was a goner for sure. I took it in to Fix That Mac and they were able to restore it. I had to take it in a second time because it was shutting off randomly but they did not charge me for the second time. It has been working perfectly now for 2.5 years since then at much less than the cost of a new laptop!

Leia is INCREDIBLE. First, I took my mac to another repair shop in Berkeley. The other store charged me $40 for a diagnostic and quoted me $500 to clean up a liquid spill that I didnt even know that I had. Before spending $500, I went to the apple store. They told me they dont work on my model of computer anymore, and that I should be lucky to have anyone work on it for $500. Then I brought it to Fix that Mac. The first thing Leia said is, I cant believe [the other store] charged you for a diagnostic. Then, all for *free*, she took my machine apart right in front of me and walked through the steps that would be necessary to fix my computer, and reviewed some different options for how to move forward. Not only did she quote me less than $500, but she explained the exact costs for every part that might need to be replaced. In the end, only two out of three parts she had identified needed replacing, and I only had to pay around $300. In case that werent enough, Leia accommodated my holiday schedule and finished my repair within a DAY so that I could pick it up before going out of town.Not surprisingly, a female-owned business is better than all of the competition, including apple itself. Thank you so much, I am so grateful!!!!!

They fixed my water-damaged MacBook! I wrestled with it for a day on my own, carefully dissolving rust with isopropyl alcohol, to no avail. They finished the job with a ultrasonic cleaner, and it worked!!!

After brining it to Fix That Mac, they were able to diagnose the issue for me ON THE SPOT as soon as I had brought it in. A Mac users best friend! When I decided to treat myself to new batteries in two 10-year-old MacBook Pros, FTM had the batteries in stock and changed them while I waited. Then two days later my partners MacBook Air went belly up. FTM determined the drive had died. They had the right SSD in stock and had the machine ready to go after just a couple hours. I couldnt invent a better repair option for any Mac user.

Came here to get my something with my headphone jack fixed. Leia was efficient and kind -- I was in and out in five minutes and, even better, the service was completely free of charge. I highly recommend this place for any of your tech repair needs.

Leia rocks. As a locksmith, and former European car mechanic, I love fixing things. So much so, that I try my hand at fixing everything. Ive had some successes fixing Apple products, mostly iPhone screens, but recently when my dog spilled beer on my girls mb air, we quickly inverted it and shook it, and got most of the beer out of the keyboard. Most. The rest dried to a syrupy sticky tar-like state, and the space bar and a few other key turned sticky. As a programmer, her most-used key, the left Command key, was really sticky. I watched the youtubes and pulled all the sticky keys and cleaned away, and was nearly victorious again, but the Command key wouldnt snap down, and under the loup, we saw that my ham-handedness had broken the key cover. I called four places, and either they didnt have the replacements, or went straight to you may just need a new keyboard ($$$).Leia at Fix That Mac was quick to say, yes Ive got one - no charge and Ill even install it - no charge. That made me feel like my endeavor wasnt an expensive mistake, but one a new friend would help me with. She is now my go to friend in the mac fixin biz.

Had laptop for over a week after they said it would be ready. Still wasnt ready and ultimately did not know what was wrong even after holding it for a week. They also moved it to a different location without telling me, and I had to drive to a different store to get it. They did not answer phone multiple times and did not list me as a priority at all. Ultimately were a humongous waste of time and were useless.

I dropped my Macbook Pro and warped the corner. I went in to Fix That Mac and they did a simple fix with no charge - saved my day! They have excellent, knowledgeable repair people who were extremely helpful. Plus, they have a cute kitten on the couch to play with while theyre fixing your computer!

This past visit, I thought my screen had water damage, but the guys checked it out for me and told me there was no damage! They didnt charge me a cent and even cleaned it just in case. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My Iphone x had stopped responding to swipes. I brought it in to the store and Leia got to the bottom of it within and hour. The man who helped me, whose name was Kyle, was friendly and competent. My antique 2008 MacBook Pro had just bricked, and I took it to this store for a diagnosis. Apparently it had blown a capacitor or something, and that would cost more than the computer was worth to fix, but Kyle gave me a data retrieval option for a very affordable price. Because I am broke, I couldnt pay for data retrieval at the time, but when I can, Im going straight to Fix That Mac. They did all of the above for me without charging anything, by the way. Amazing expertise, skill, and customer service — a rare combination!Needing to replace a failing internal hard disk with a solid-state drive on my 2010 iMac, I wanted the new drive to replicate the old one in every detail. I recognized that this could best be accomplished by cloning a current, bootable backup to the new drive. After other shops proved wary, Leia at FixThatMac took the job — with the understanding that she’d install and format the drive, and that I’d clone it from the backup at home.In my car on the way to the shop, disaster struck: the glass shattered on the iMac display! I brought the computer into the shop, and we discovered that the LCD display had also been damaged. I thought the old machine was totally destroyed.Not to worry! My iMac was ready — with the glass and LCD display replaced AND the new solid-state drive installed and formatted — later that same afternoon, and at a very reasonable price! That very evening, I cloned the backup to the new SSD, and now my ten-year-old machine performs flawlessly — much faster than before, with a fresh display — better than new!Thank you, Leia, for understanding and respecting my needs (with all their idiosyncrasies) — and for your calm, professional response and technical expertise (and incredibly fast turnaround) at my moment of despair!

I brought my computer in for a water damage repair and they did not finish the work until January. I felt that they seldom called me for updates. I would check in with them myself, and I started to wonder if the people I talked to were on different pages.I felt mistreated as a customer. The computer only worked for two hours before it died. They offered me a full refund, and then took the offer back and refused to let me speak with the owner. This was a 2010 MacBook Pro, and my initial question was, Is this worth repairing? I guess it wasn’t.Part of their policy reads “Fix that Mac or its employees cannot be responsible for further breakage or data loss suffered from trying to make repairs on these sensitive products.” But I wish that I was treated with more kindness through this difficult process.I recently took the computer to Apple & Mac Solutions in Berkeley, where they offered me free diagnostics, and they observed that FTM put a new screen on my computer with a dead camera, and some screws were left out on the interior of the logic board. I was told that my SSD was water damaged but it was confirmed not. I would never would have noticed this if it werent for the helpful people at Apple & Mac Solutions.As of 4/6/19, the organization has threatened to sue me for my honest review. I would not recommend anyone to trust Fix That Mac with your computer repair needs. College students especially might want to be wary here.

Great place. Went in to fix an unresponsive keyboard and trackpad, and they fixed it and returned it within the hour. They also said that they have a 90 day warranty just in case the original problem is not fixed. Would definitely return here for any future problems.

Update: Nothing has come up and now its been almost a year. Really -- I advise you DO NOT come here! Maybe their other locations are good, but this team is pretty terrible.They installed someone elses beat up part onto my laptop. I called the same day to get it replaced back. They installed my laptops backing to someone elses laptop. Its been over a month of we will call you when we can switch it back. I still have someones beat up part. Its apparent they just dont care.Also, I was quoted a price, and when I dropped off the laptop, an additional ~100 USD were added because of a misquote. The more time went by the more I questioned the business. I came in really optimistic. If this review is still 1/5 stars, it means I still havent gotten my own part back and nor have they tried to fix their own mistake.

I think the people working here are considerate and understanding, but I dont believe that justifies using subpar components and inflicting some damage to the screen of my MacBook Pro 15 with retina display. The screen itself was flawless (especially since it was recently replaced by Apple and I had used a screen protector). When I received the fixed laptop back, it had several deep scratches on the screen. I had recorded any sign of damages prior to handing it over. Other than that, the replacement parts (keyboard, touchpad) that they used were inferior, which is somewhat understandable for a third party repair shop. I would have overlooked that if it were the only thing.The most frustrating part that bothered me the most (other than the damaged screen) was the fact that it took them 3-4 weeks when the original estimate was around 5 days to 1 week. They called on numerous occasions (almost) every week to inform me of more damage that needed to be fixed, but this happened many times which I did not appreciate since they had inspected and disassembled my MacBook Pro for diagnostics. The most frustrating thing was the fact that they told me my laptop was ready for pickup on multiple occasions, and I physically went to the store on those occasions to pick up my laptop. Instead, they asked for another 24 hours and another...I gave them multiple 24 hours but they were still not done. The cycle repeated for a little bit, lasting for about 5-7 days. Even the day after that I had received a phone call from one of the employees who was supposed to call me when it was finished, I ended up leaving and coming back an hour later. Unfortunately, I had to wait about another hour as they rushed to finish working on my laptop in the backroom. I dont know if what I experienced was the norm, but the whole process was frustrating, almost as much as waiting at the DMV.Despite the substandard service, I think I would still go to Fix That Mac for smaller repairs but with a mental note to expect delays. I will mention that they did apologize multiple times and tried to compensate for some of the inconveniences.

I read good reviews about this place so decided to try it for an Ipad repair. They have had my Ipad now for over 3 weeks and every time I try to check in with them, I get the message that it is still being worked on. Today I tried to call after leaving a message yesterday. No answer and the voice mail is full. Very poor customer service and Im getting frustrated. I live too far away to go into the store personally.

Best in town! Other bad reviews are old and Ive used them more than 10 times for various issues and always had excellent results.
