I was visiting Berkeley on Monday. I noticed when I exited the highway my hazard light for my tires came on. I went to 3 different gas stations. Every one the air nozzles had been vandalized. So I saw an Auto repair shop. I took a chance. I approached the garage and asked the gentleman behind the glass if I could pay him to put air in my tires. He said emphatically “No, you can’t pay me but, I’ll put air in your tires”. I said wow, thank you. You see even in a “ Plan-Damic” there are kind people. 😉
Everyone here is amazing! Been taking my vehicles here for the past 7 years and never had a problem. Best mechanic ever!
This is an all around awesome machine shop. They are fast, friendly, honest, reasonable, no b.s. kind of fellas. Other than a mistaken oil leak once by one of the mechanics, which neither caused nor cost anything, they’ve been perfect.
Was recommended by Grandmas Garage. Clean, friendly and respectful shop. Clear pricing, straightforward. Very satisfied.
The people here are super great super professional and super nice!
Excellent service. My car had a engine oil leak, and needed some fluids changes (coolant, transmission, etc). We had a very good communication during the repair, being very clear about what was needed to be done and the cost.
This is my first visit to Precision Peoples Car Repair and its so refreshing to have someone like Jimmy that not only does the job but does it with class. You will have my business moving forward.
Excellent staff and service. I usually have to wait much longer for repairs at other shops. I dont usually trust shops that dont specialize in European vehicles, but these guys were great. Parking is a little inconvenient in the area but other than that, Id recommend this shop.
Wonderful service. Called on a Monday and got a diagnosis. They took my car in the next day, gave me a fair quote and had it repaired by the middle of the workday. Picked it up the same evening and drove home happy
This is a great shop! Honest and happy employees which says a lot.
In addition to being a very nice person, he is totally honest and an excellent mechanic. In 50 years or so of having cars repaired this is about the best experience Ive ever had. Thats saying something. He charged me the exact amount on the estimate to the penny. He deserves your business and, given how hard it is to find decent auto repair service, vice-versa.
This shop has been working on my families vehicles for 30 plus years. I thought taking my 2008 Acura TL to get inspected there that I just purchased was a good idea during the two day cooling off period. Turns out, they neglected to tell me about the blue bolts on the transmission, that it had been replaced. They neglected to see an obvious ground wire unplugged. That screws on, so no way it came off on its own. It had codes, yet they said it had no codes, its clear to me they didnt even scan the vehicle. The biggest thing, they left out and neglected to tell me about subframe bolts missing between the subframe and the vehicle. The subframe bolts are the first thing I saw once I got the car home to Colorado where I live now for 5 years and was able to get it on a lift at my friends shop. Also, to top it all off when I got my car back the Navigation didnt work and the Snap On Solus scanner my good friend with a shop in Colorado used, says hes fairly sure precision broke my navigation and unplugged something. The navigation worked the second I dropped the car off. When I picked it up from Rei lot where they park customer cars, as soon as I got into the vehicle in Berkeley, the nav was broken and no longer worked. Before I knew about the sub frame bolt issue I had tried to reason with Ken the owner about figuring out or fixing that they broke my navigation and now that I know about the subframe bolts and the fact that the car wasnt even scanned its really disconcerting about my safety that I drove this car 1300 miles home with my 60+ year old Father. Now, Ken did mention a few good things like my radiator cap and gas cap gaskets were cracked. It sure seems like they just did a very basic inspection. And broke some things are neglected to tell me about things crucial to my safety like subframe bolts.Ken, youve lost my families business. And my parents and I are extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. Also, I dont really appreciate how condescending and rude you were when I was there and how you talk down to me as a customer. For you guys to miss the things you that you missed like missing subframe bolts is really inexcusable, also tried to reason with you about the navigation and you still claim many phone calls later that you guys didnt do anything. If you guys wont cop to it about the navigation, I saw no reason to try and reason with you about the other stuff that you guys missed, like beating a dead horse. Shame on your techs Ken Shapiro and your lack of oversight with your techs and business. You should retire already Ken.I will also be reporting you to the California bureau of automotive repair for neglecting to tell me that something crucial to my safety like subframe bolts were missing in an inspection and that everything is checked off on the under car part of the inspection sheet. And last but not least, I have it written on my inspection sheet that you said to replace my serpentine belt and that your techs are really picky, I have a couple thousand miles on the same serpentine belt with absolutely no issues or loss of tension and you guys missed all that other stuff so your techs arent picky, they are in fact carless and stupid to neglect the things they did and break my Nav.Do yourself a favor everyone. Go somewhere else. I would not have bought the car that I have now the 2008 Acura TL if they had done a proper inspection I wouldve returned the car where I bought it during the 2 day cooling off period. Im currently making a claim with Wells Fargo my bank to get my $168 inspection fee back.RESPONSE to your REPLY.You guys not once offered to remedy the situation or have me come back in. All I got from Ken was, we didn’t do anything to your navigation or anything else and have a nice trip home pretty much. Don’t lie to save face. You guys screwed up. And you lie to save face when we both know, no one offered to remedy the situation. Complete pack of lies. I would have for sure taken you guys up on remedying the situation. Ridiculous for you lie after the fact.
Ken is great. I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer Im getting ready to sell and had some serious engine vibration that was going to force me to scrap the car instead. Ken gave me an honest assessment and for $70 took a look at the car for me. He found a bad cylinder coil, gave me a quote and let me mull it over before executing the work. Once I gave him the green light he fixed it quickly and $390 later the car was back up and running. He even had me come back in for free to make sure the engine warnings had gone away, so I could smog it and sell it. I will definitely be back next time I own a car.
Fantastic shop. I feel very confident taking my 2007 Honda Odyssey to Ken. He explains everything and gives a great breakdown of the charges.
An honest and reliable air-cooled auto shop. So glad that it exists as my Bug is over 50 years old and good VW mechanics are becoming increasingly rare. Prices are a bit high but nothing is cheap anymore in the Bay Area and thus costs are in line with other local shops. Theyve been at the same location for years and years and I trust Precision Peoples for all my maintenance needs and confidentiality recommend to anyone who owns an air cooled VW as well as other European cars.
Honest mechanic, actually will explain the issues so you understand well what is happening to your car.The owner, Kent, is much friendlier than the people next door.
My father took his old VW Rabbit here when I was growing up, and I couldnt imagine taking my Jetta anywhere else. The next car I buy will be a VW just so I can make sure Ken and his garage will be the ones that can care for it. Best auto repair in the bay area!
Good service. Mlical business for over 40 years. My car is in great condition.
Fast, trustworthy service. Fully recommended
Weve been going here so long! Wheres our plaque?!Ken Carlos Rick + ... since 1983 or 5?.If its not necessary - Ken sends us home. Our pleasure - to extend car-lives, Esther Nancy Bill
Knowledgeable and efficient. They replaced my fuel pump and filter same day.
Great shop. Finally, an honest mechanic . . .
Great people.
Knowledgeable and thorough!
Fantastic!
