What a wonderful experience! Our back breaks went out while traveling and Frank got us in and out quickly. They used factory parts. Frank the owner was just the most friendly accommodating. I would refer all to go to this shop.

Frank has been our families mechanic for decades.he can be counted on do you have the work done in a timely manner. He does a consistently good job we are always pleased with the outcome. I recently used his brother-in-law for bodywork is very pleased his work as well.

A little over 3 weeks ago my car wouldnt shift out of park. I do some preemptive investigating and it seems like the break-light switch needs to be replaced. Now according to a random website this should cost between $75-$100. Frank charged $165.He installed the part same day within a couple hours. No waiting around for days until they get to the vehicle. He was extremely nice and professional.This is where the story should end. Unfortunately 22 days later the same thing happens (car wont shift out of park). I take the car over to Franks to see if he can investigate the cause. He says he will do so at no cost.He gets back to me within a couple hours and says that it looks like the switch that they initially installed was defective (it can happen) and they are purchasing/installing a replacement at no cost to me.Over all Im very happy with the experience and will definitely be considering coming back when future problems occur.Pros: Fast, friendly, professional, Trustworthy and reliableCons: might be a little pricey (keep in mind Frank is in Berkeley where everything is more expensive not in the middle of nowhere where everything is cheaper)Final noteIf you need a local trustworthy mechanic Id highly recommend Frank. Quality work and honest, something very important to a mechanic - where most people can be easily swindled into unnecessary and expensive fixes

Wonderful family owned auto shop in the heart of Berkeley. Theyve been in business since Ronald Reagan was the Governor.Expect professional and courteous service here.They have a secure lot and multiple bays so you wont have to worry about your car being broken into in an open lot.

I live in another state and my daughter called me from the Bay Area with car trouble. Frank was referred to me, and he not only rescued us from the unnecessary work and outrageous pricing of the dealership, but he was thorough, knowledgeable, extremely courteous and efficient. She is his customer for life now! I highly recommend the shop to everyone!!

I can only speak from my own experience, but when I needed work on my car, not only was Frank open on Saturday and able to take my car right away (unlike another reputable and very high priced Berkeley shop I have used in the past) his price quote was MUCH more reasonable as well. Frank is very friendly, forthright, and I believe, honest. He showed me the parts that were replaced, and explained the problem. When there was a new noise I noticed after the repair, he immediately took the car back in and fixed it, and even offered further no cost repairs if the problem persisted. It is a no frills shop, but I feel that Frank runs an honest business and treats his customers like valued members of his own community. This is hard to find.

At Frank’s you will find fair and honest service. I have trusted my car with Frank for several years now and I am always happy with my experience there. Car repairs are expensive in general, but here I never feel overcharged. They are very thorough so the work is done right, and done right the first time. He also has a great network of car folks in the Bay Area if you need help with other car related devices (selling your car, etc.) so he is easily the most helpful mechanic I’ve ever worked with. Also important, Frank and his team are very kind people, and I always feel that I’m in the best hands here. All in all I can not recommend this place more! Thank you so much, Frank!

No services ..after being told over a period of 4 days to come back n forth for services tthat was never done..tacky and unprofessional to keep running a customer back n forth

Frank has been helping me keep my 2005 Mazda 3 running for the past few years and I value his service. I feel the pricing is fair and the proof is in the fact that my car continues to run well- and it has 170k miles on it. Today I got a nail in my tire on the way to work and he fixed it for a very small sum. Thank you!

The best general mechanic Ive run across in quite some time. I rely on him for everything automotive. He and his crew arent supermen, but they generally provide excellent service at a very good price, and if they make a mistake, they make it right and dont try to hide it.

Frank is the most helpful guy in the world, and he does fast, reliable work. I never go anywhere else.

8,000 miles they car blow blue smoke this guys do some bad work after the car was rebuild it was leaking oil from all over took it to fix it 2 times and never came up right had to take it to another mechanic to fix it . And now this car blows blue smoke and i dont even drive it too much

First we thought I’d have to get a new radiator so I was expecting to spend $400, when I came back, Frank said that the mechanic Dave discovered that it was something less serious so we ended up paying only $165 :)

I was there for a break problem, they charged 330$ for labor and in total I paid 890$. When I asked friends around they all said this shouldnt cost more than 400$. One important note, they are extremely friendly, my complaint is about the price tag!
