One of the coolest golf courses Ive ever played. There are a few holes that just have the most breathtaking drops from the tee. Its pretty tough as well. Well manicured. Lush, dense forests and grass on boundaries. The clubhouse is very nice. The pro shop was a little lacking. They were low on golf balls and there just wasnt much space for inventory. But if you come with what you need, youre going to enjoy yourself.
Enjoyed playing here as i was able to improve my average score. Very scenic course. Great food and beverage selection. Very scenic outdoor dining area that is also shaded. Will DEFINATELY go back again.
The course is in great condition. I didn’t land in the fairway that much but they looked well maintained. The rough was pretty good, not too long. The greens were decent. This is an excellent value considering the difficulty and condition the course is in. Staff was friendly and pace of play seemed better than most. Definitely will come back to play the east course.
Played west course today for the 1st time, and I am impressed. Grounds are in excellent condition. Pace slowed after 6th hole, but did not take away from the experience.
I was pleasantly surprised by the course conditions. This was my first round played here in several years. It has greatly improved. Cheers to the ground crew.
East course was challenging and fun. Will play here again.
This place is the best value in Chicago land Ive come across. The two challenging, but fair courses, they arent long, but certainly long enough, make the pain of drive from the city worth it. If you go (you should) bring a divot tool and try to fix a couple bar marks on every green. Unfortunately later in the season the greens can get a little chewed up - so do your part and help the grounds crew keep this facility nice.
Played here 50 times or more.No morePlayed there Thursday the 9 th of September on the good courseTeed off 11:10 I think5 hours 5 minutes3 groups ahead of us was a five someRanger did nothing despite repeated attempts toGet him to do his jobAs he rode back away from usAfter 9 the group ahead of us switched to the other 9Then a group from other 9 slipped in ahead of usTotal incompetenceBut hey, the five-some was happyAnd the rangerEveryone else was very upsetHit rush hour on way homeNever againThey just don’t care
This course is beautifully mature and well watered. Ive been playing here for over 30 years and always enjoy the day!
Well maintained and challenging West track. Course should update tee box offerings beyond 3 sets. GPS on carts is great for shot input but off the grid governors are confusing and annoying. Starter should educate players at first tee box!
One of my favorite places to play for the money and course conditions and location but man... the more I play here the more I cant stand those stupid GPS carts. They turn off anytime youre in an unauthorized area. The problem is they often turn off in completely legal portions of the fairway or when youre looking for your ball in between the fairways in the tree line. Everyone has apps on their phones or gps watches so theres no need for the screen with distances in your cart. Please just go back to old school normal carts and pay a ranger to drive around and enforce the rules and pace of play!
Challenging golf course that is very well kept. Good value.
The whole course well maintained and very good condition. Only disappointed with golf cart shutting off so often looking for balls off the fairways. For a Sunday the pace was good and my foursome had a good time.
Nice long fairways, clean and manicured.Very nice staff.Thank you
Tee boxes and fairways are both in poor condition. Fairways have sparse patches of grass and mostly bare spots. Maple seeds carpet most of the course. Maintenance was blowing off fairways after we played. Practice range was closed but maintenance was blowing seeds off it before doing fairways. Greens and fringe were in excellent shape though.
Course was well manicured and greens were in great shape. Food was good and service was great.
Great day of golf with all my Weber alumni pals. Go Red Horde
The traps need sand, all that is there now is pulverized dirt on a clay base. Funniest thing is they actually have a person grooming them with a machine. What a waste of personal and resources. Customer service is what got the 4 star rating possible.
Kind of disappointing. Greens and a few tee boxes were is terrible shape. We had to duck balls at few tee boxes. Finally saw beer cart on 16. Thankfully it was only $35 with cart or I would have given 1 star.
Very good courses nicely kept up
Great foodExcellent drinks and service
Course is in decent shape...What I keep finding thats disappointing, it seems especially with municipal/town-operated courses, is that theres a real lack of focus on hospitality and service. Shame. A lot of courses out there...
Did not honor web reservation pricing. Three foresomes on every hole - never spread out. Waited at least 10 min per hole.
Been playing this course for over 15 years. For the price it is a really good course especially the West Course.
Update 6/16/20- White Pines took care of us, we look forward to golfing there soon. From 5/23/20- My wife and I went to White Pines a few weeks ago. Weather forecast was challenging. We were told our choice to start play. We were specifically told nobody would come to get us, up to us to stay on course if bad weather came Fifth hole we see ranger. He waited till we hit our balls off tee. Then he told us course is closed we have to leave. He waited for us to hit so we completed 4 holes. The course now does not have to give refund and they did not, even after I spoke with staff while we were leaving(no rain or lightening either yet). Not even a voucher was offered. We wanted to make this our home course since its a nice course and close. Not great customer service so we will not return.
Good course, nice venue and restaurant
White Pines has two 18 hole courses in Bensenville. We played the East course today. Fair, but challenging course. Course is well kept and beautiful in season. It is also quite reasonable!
One of the best public courses around!
Good maintainence
Great time. Played the West Course. Beautiful hot day in late May. Some challenging holes. A lot of water...and a lot of standing water. Rained a ton the night before. Played a twosome for social distancing. Pristine large greens. Overall? Enjoyable.
Nice course. Ive been here 3-4 times now, been on both courses, and have had a great experience each time.Note: The driving range is closed currently due to it being upgraded, the staff said it will be ready for next year 2021.
Love this course. Great rate and well maintained. Carts are new although they turn off if you drive OB. Only wish their range was open this season.
Got there an hr early with my son to find out range was closed!!?? Greens were dirty east course! Call ahead
Definitely the nicest public golf course you can play at. The course is kept in great shape. the fact that its a 36-hole public course makes it easier for you to decide which course you would like to play. Both of which courses are challenging and a great golf experience. Prices are reasonable considering the newly updated GPS golf carts and renovated cart paths. I recommend calling before you decide to go without a tee time as it can be very busy with outings or with public play.
Very good course very well done, hadnt been there in a while but very impressed, with what they did with it.
Enjoyed 18 holes. A bit tight for my handicap, but had a good go!
East course being neglected. Very hard on seniors not having closer pick up or drop off. Long way to carry clubs, jacket, purse, golf bag and beverage. To many trips to clean out cart. Personnel not very friendly. Asked starter where to get score card and he pointed to pile in cart. Didnt even offer to hand me one. Had to walk around cart to retrieve. Rude!
Excellent course for the price. Will definitely play here again!
Great golf course to go play. Sad to see it go. Ive played many rounds there.
Love it here. Worth the drive from the city. The staff is phenomenal and friendly, Ive encountered many different staff members whove made an effort to learn my name, introduce themselves and make me feel at home and welcome. Pace of play is always great and the course is well maintained. Special thanks to my golf instructor, Chuck Lynch (whos equally as awesome) for introducing me to White Pines!
Wonderful place to play for a very reasonable rate. Two very nice courses.
Absolutely horrendous experience. We scheduled a 3:00 tee time for 18 holes - on the back nine, the staff began to harass us to pick-up pace of play (we were on a cart playing behind walkers so we had no where to go & refused to put pressure on the two-some in front of us). At about 6:00 the course ranger started following us. Every single shot he was asking us to speed up. I can only assume that the staff wanted to go home & we were the last cart on the course - however, if that was the case, they should have prefaced that prior to our round. I played division 1 golf, Ive play hundreds of golf courses in my life - Ive NEVER experienced anything like this. I wish I could rate this experience a zero.
Pro: This course is cheap. That said, youre getting what you pay for.Con: The greens are riddled with divots that arent repaired and have areas with dirt instead of grass (not sure how you can call that a green). The sand bunkers are not sand.
Golf places.... cant the land be used for anything in addition to playing golf?.... sort of like cemeteries to me with respect to the area that such places take up.... I am not thinking businesses or homes.... how about mini concerts and gatherings?
Course in good shape and good price.
Greens were bad, sand was like concrete, carts were the worst, kept shutting off without warning then wouldnt restart. Never advised by staff about this issue. One cart died and never did restart and it was on cart path.
Two good golf courses. Both courses have challenging holes and must be managed accordingly. Beware of the back nine on the east course its the most difficult due to narrow fairways. Staffing is great too. Great for weekend golfing.
Solid course, solid price and difficulty
The course director’s attitude was degrading and disrespectful. We were told to stop playing and leave the course without a single fair warning from the ranger for a slow pace. But the website states “FOR GOLFERS AT ALL SKILL LEVEL”!!!
Horrible place to try and golf over booked tee times, people using the first hole as a driving range. I mean what a place you pay your hard earned money to play golf here and all you feel is rushed the whole time. What a pile of poop.
Best deal around. Tight fairways on the west course. Near perfect condition
Last Saturday, Aug. 8, the course director Mike Camerano accused our group that 2 of our members did not pay their fees. He was very rude, arrogant, unprofessional and condescending. This guy ask for receipts. There were 28 of us in the group and he is saying that only 26 paid, (which was proven to be wrong because all of us paid and we send all our receipts/screenshots of credit card payments and emailed copies to Bensenville park district management.) Then he told us that he is kicking us out because of slow play. We reasoned that there were players ahead of us. But he was just so adamant! There were no fair warning issued, the mere fact that before our group there were other players that we are also waiting to finish! This guy did not refund our fees. We were so insulted that I loss sleep that night! This guy Mike Camerano should be disciplined for what he unfairly did. He even boasted that he is the course director and that he can answer any calls that will come to him (I dont even get what he meant by that)! This guy is not good for your business and is not good for golf!
Challenging west course. Conditions were wet due to heavy rain the previous day. Overall course was in great shape as were the greens. Pace of play was quick. Great golf for the price.
Be careful, especially if you are a minority. Our group was descrimated againts and asked to stop our tournament without any warning. I would expect a warning if you get in trouble is a hole and give you a chance to catch up, but we were not given a chance, instead we were asked to stop playing and leave the premises. They also would not refund our money. We will try to seek help and file actions againts White Pine so that they cannot do this degrading acts on other people especially minorities.
Very poorly managed course. Ive been playing here weekly for many years. My expectations of the service and conditions are not that of a private or high-end course. Im also very understanding of the negative effects Covid-19 has had on all businesses. However, the course conditions have deteriorated and management seems less present and less caring about customer experience. Unfortunately I am now forced to look for an alternative middle-tier course where management at least pretends to care about a loyal customer and the condition of the course. Im certain my years of regular patronage will not be missed.P.S.....several other Illinois courses Ive now chosen to play this year are running their operations much closer to pre-covid days.
Really nice course. would play again.
Nice course. In good shape despite hot dry weather.
Great place to golf. Only bad thing if your off the fairway good luck finding your ball
Play the west course. It was very nice with a lot of narrow fairways.
Very rude and unprofessional course director. We were told to stop playing and leave the course without a single fair warning from the ranger for slow pace. But the website states For golfers of all skill level!!! We are also told that they will not issue refund for all the players in our group. Very disappointed on how we are mistreated by the management.
Nice course, friendly staff
Ok
36 holes of challenging golf. The East Course is more difficult. Good value!
Always a beautiful place. Wish they made it easier for taxpayer residents to enjoy it more. I live a mile away and havent been there for 2 years
Good Course, green and fairways in great shape, will play again soon!!
I decided to visit in the final days of their indoor driving range. The range and its workers are very helpful, very friendly, and easy going. They had great specials, and my group enjoyed about two hours worth of the range. I recommend to anyone looking for a range nearby.
Bad, the GPS carts are a pain and die when you least expect it. Got tired of driving in reverse. Course is just ok
Great golf course and staff 👍👍👍👍👍
Lowest quality golfers ever no one can keep anything on course Ive ever seen guys try climb the fence and fight with people because they were happy about a stray shot that hit the home. Trashiest golfers Ive ever seen at this place.
Won’t book single golfers. First come first serve. So instead of knowing I’m coming in with a tee time (and possibly paired with strangers which is ok and awesome) I have to drive 30 minutes from the city to find out if I’m going to be able to play within my 4.5 hour time slot I have available. Na. I’ll go elsewhere. Keep losing money WP!
Unreasonable distance from parking to cars. Difficult for older golfers. No sensible reason for not allowing cars in parking lot as they are supposed cleaned after use. Been playing there for 13 yrs wont return unless they return to former policy. This includes 6 players.
My first time. Very nice golf course. Had a lot of fun seeing Tony Ocean at the outdoor summer concert.
Nice course. Friendly staff.
Police? Why? Hot day, no water, no sales, cant bring your own, no bathrooms or sinks? Over 65s will die of heat exhaustion and dehydration before covid. Time to get over this and normalize.
Play here a bunch. Not in as good a condition as early in season because it has been played so much.
Great public golf course that has two separate 18-hole courses. White Pines offers one of the best values among golf courses in the Chicago area. If you are a resident of Bensenville, the course offers additional incentives, including a pass that allows you to play unlimited golf (carts, not included) for the entire season in exchange for a single flat-rate fee. I grew up in the area and purchased a season pass for several years. Im not sure what the cost is today, but in 2005 the cost of a season pass was less than $300. Assuming the season pass is still offered, Im confident it is a great value regardless of the current cost.
Despite extremely wet conditions, the course was in great shape. The restaurant staff is extremely friendly and the service was excellent. The food is tops and you definitely get your moneys worth. During the weekdays lunch is included in the golf fees.
Even though its been beaten up this year, one of the best values in the Chicago area.
Beautiful Challeging course..Well kept....Well Managed!!!
Great courses....that being said it retains a lot of water in the fairways when it rains even a little. That is my only complaint. Hole number 11 on the east course has the potential to possibly be one of the prettiest holes in golf, if manicured a little better imo.
Really tight course. Run into a lot of cross traffic.
During Christmas last year, if you purchased a $100 gift card, you received a voucher for golf for two people and a cart. The golf course wouldnt honor their own voucher today.
Great place!
The course was really bad. Both the tees and the greens need to be cut, especially on the weekends. They have employees driving around, but they seem to be doing nothing. Its much easier and enjoyable to go down the street and play either Maple Meadows or Oak Meadows.
Wow! What a fantastic place for golfers - experienced as well as first timers. My grandkids practice there and get the best tips and lessons. Try it sometime.
Horrible horrible food. Beef was like shoe leather, miniscule piece of chicken dried out. Rolls were not fresh. Green beans were barely cooked. Just terrible. We were there for a high school reunion.
Very well maintained. Has 36 holes and is playable. Have a great twilight rate. $20 to ride / $10 to walk after 5:30. Recently remodeled in restraunt with a very nice bar area. Usually play a couple times a month. Would play more but rates are a little on the high side.
Place is elegant but the food not so much. The entertainment was ok.
What a goat ranch! Only course in the Chicago area where you can’t use the bathrooms in the clubhouse. The course is run by people who don’t know anything about golf.
Two nice golf courses, excellent wedding venue, very good drinks and food at the 19th hole. Good senior discounts.
CV 19 makes it uncrowded and a quick round.
Twilight for only $22 with a cart and your choice of West or East 18 hole course. Always well maintained and a great time.
Only been there once. The course was in really rough shape. Cart paths were badly rutted and flooded. The rough was soaked and muddy. The tee boxes are in need of care as several were over grown. The cats have also seen better days, ours broke down. Also better signage is needed for navigation. On the plus side, the greens were in good shape. Fairways were mostly ok. Its in a decent location; accessable from the city and Western burbs.
Welcoming, 2 proper courses, helpful staff and a proper test of golf. East course short but tight with some well thought out holes and judicious use of water. Recommended if looking for a round close to OHare.
Golf courses (2 - 18 hole courses) are in good shape; greens better than expected. Golf carts are pretty well worn, cart paths and overall course manicure are a little rough around the edges. Decent course for the money.
