Most other places told me they couldnt help me or blew me off saying it would be too expensive or too much work. But these people took me in and for once in my life my smile finally looks perfect! Great facility and staff. I have always been pretty anxious about going to the dentist and given the amount of work I have been getting done, they have really put me at ease. I am actually pretty excited about my upcoming visits. Highly recommended.also, their operating hours are very accommodating to the everyday working person.

Just like most people, I dont enjoy going to the dentist. Here, you can get a valid detailed plan with an opportunity for questions with good understandable answers. Dr. Lai has a pretty good sense of humor but makes sure you understand fully what is going on. All of the staff are equally helpful, professional, and personable.

Update. They carry a product called Enamelon. I honestly thought they were just trying to sell me something, so I brushed it off. But my husband is a sucker and bought some 2 days ago and.... Im impressed. I can drink ice water with no straw!!! After just two uses. Im so happy right nowThe team here is awesome and professional. Evelyn in the front is clearly very knowledgeable about the billing process which-for me- make the visits stress free and easy. They also have some really good magazines, which helps to pass the time while waiting for x-rays to process =)They also have their own version of insurance that includes 2 free cleanings a year, if Im not mistaken. Just call and ask if you are interested.

I have been going to this Dentist for few years now. The customer service is excellent! They are very professional and organized. Dr Lai listens to his patients and ensures that all their needs are met. He gives his patients time and explains everything very thoroughly. I highly recommend this place!!

I have never written a review but often depend on them to find services after making a military move to a new and unfamiliar area. As a consumer, I would DEFINITELY hope to READ THIS REVIEW PRIOR TO CHOOSING A DENTIST...At my last visit (to another dentist in a different state) one year ago I was told that my teeth looked great and everything was fine. Then, during my visit at Platinum Dental, was told that I had the teeth of a person twice my age and that I needed $2,000 worth of dental work. The whole thing felt like a sales pitch so I respectfully opted for a second opinion and was then sent a letter dismissing me from the practice for doing so. I am extremely glad I did seek a second opinion because although I did need a couple of fillings, I didnt need NEARLY the work that Platinum Dental suggested. Ive never had to get a second opinion before but am thankful I trusted my gut and NOT this practice!

Awful experience! I was severely sick and in the hospital and was only able to give a little less than a 24hr notice, and I was charged an outrageous fee. Staff was rude. Switched to another dentist, and they were shocked that a dental office would treat a patient this way. Also, the office is poorly done. The furniture and equipment is old and dated. Makes you think about how clean and sanitary they really are. Go elsewhere!!

If I could put less than one star, I would. They did not do a simple repair to an appliance which was literally cutting my mouth. I called asking if the could do the repair and scheduled to do so. Four appointments, no repair but they tried to force a cleaning saying they had the right to force me to have a cleaning. I called the b.s. card there! I asked them to please fix the painful appliance and they said it wouldnt last.( I had already given them 2600 for a new one but just wanted to be out of pain while they played tiddly winks with my appointments. )The office felt like a caddy high school chat room. When i called and asked for a refund because I went else where and got it fixed in 10 minutes, and got a new appliances in 1 week for the same money, they had deducted 800.00 for stays and an evaluation.So if you want a cleaning, well you may be safe. But if you have a problem or want a well balanced office, just say no.

I never write reviews but I believe this needed to be disclosed to the public.I am on TDY for the Navy and I decided to try find a dental clinic that suited my available odd hours. Platinum Dental fit that description HOWEVER I ran into two disappointments.I showed to my appointment at 1745 (15 minutes prior to my appointment to fill out necessary paperwork). The receptionist informed me (when I walked in) that my appointment is cancelled because the dental assistant is out sick. I got upset (but I kept my composure) and asked them why didn’t they call me before I actually walked into the office? She stated “we just thought you could fill out the paperwork so the next time you come, it’ll go smoothly.” At this point, I just wanted to walk out of office, however, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled my appointment for two weeks later. Before I left, I asked her to “please inform me beforehand if there are any changes to my appointment through means of a phone call.”Fast forward just shy of that two week time frame, I received a phone call from the office, thinking that they’re calling to confirm my appointment. NO. The receptionist called saying, “our office doesn’t think that we are suitable to provide services to you due to the fact that you seemed pretty upset when you left our office that day.” I WAS BLOWN AWAY! I responded “Wait, let me get this straight. I am denied services because you failed to call me, informing me of my CANCELLED APPOINTMENT and that I got upset because of it? I got upset for your negligence and poor customer service!” She said! “Yes ma’am. That is why.”I have NEVER been denied service because of the offices’ fault to inform customers about a cancellation. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY.

After seeing their posts on Facebook I had NO doubts about their quality of work but I was more worried that they were going to be snobby and judge me (my teeth are JACKED due to years of not going).But to my surprise the staff girls (who btw kinda look like mini fashion models!) and the Docs were SUPER NICE and CRAZY accommodating!!!Prices also seemed reasonable for the amount of work I need considering they are literally trying to salvage every messed up tooth in my mouth!If you are like me and have been putting off seeing the dentist due to a previous bad experience I highly recommend checking them out!You will not be disappointed!

Dr lai I have known for years now and never got work done from him. This year I Went to him and got a check up and he informed me of some issue that needed to be taken care of. We got me scheduled and within few weeks got me taken care of. He is very informative on what needs to be done and explains it if have any questions.

Extensively rude service and would not allow customers to speak without interrupting and speaking over them. Wished to speak with the dentist (Dr. Lai) regarding services rendered and that were were billed for an evaluation without verifying benefits through the insurance provider prior to visit. Was told that I could not speak with the dentist and that I had to speak with Evelyn. Upon notification of rights to speak with the dentist regarding the issue, was informed that he would call me back but the call was never returned.

Dr. Lai and staff run a top notch clinic! If I ever had a problem, they were immediately there to take care of my needs. That is why I keep returning to Platinum Dental. Just as much, I recommended them to anyone in Whidbey Island.

LITERALLY WORST DENTIST IVE EVER BEEN TOO. The dentist wasnt even at his practice when the receptionist started taking x-rays of my tooth and she would leave the room saying she was going to talk to the dentist. I saw him walk through the front door a few minutes later. Then turns out I had to get a root canal and he told me either be in excruciating pain or get it taken out immediately but that he couldnt get me in because he had so many root canals to do(?), so I had to call every dentist in town and finally found someone that would take me.He was not nice about it at all. Ok fast forward to when I called the next day the receptionist hung up on me mid sentence asking a question about my bill. Well since my insurance changed sometimes it goes through as my maiden name and she told me I was lying to everyone about who I was. Uh ok then? When I called again someone else answered and I told her Id like to speak to the boss or manager and the women proceeded to tell me she was the boss and how If Im rude shell just hang up on me like the other girl did. Like what? I wasnt even being rude I just asked about my bill? TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.

I am totally agree with other people about bad experiences. Me, my family and friends will never go back to that office again. I had done my wisdom tooth remove over there, every things went well and made my portion of payment on that day. I did check with insurance company and make sure everything went well before i went down to there. The next day, Evelyn called and said my insurance wont cover the cost, and wanted me to pay by saying rudely like it will go collection if i dont make payment immediately. I called the insurance, and they said they just need narrator from surgeon for processing the approval since the billing is under pending. So i called Evelyn and explained about what she need to summit which is narrator, and she lied to me and saying that she talked with insurance people for an hour and nothing she can do, and she pushed me to pay all the amounts. I said i will pick up the narrator at office, she said no she did email to me twice and kept lying over the phone. Then i went to office myself then she cant deny her lies since she dont have any prepared narrator, but i said nicely to her to get that for me. She typed one sentences in front of me, and passed to me without any signature, unfortunately i saw Dr Lai and had him singed immediately. Then my insurance accepted all documents and things all went well after all. Worse experiences ever. Rude, mean and conniving customer service ever! In the end, she threatened me by saying you are never welcome to this office and area. LOL for ass sake.

I am definitely one to be terrified of needles and other instruments in my mouth, but at Platinum Dental I recieved amazing care from both Dr. Lee and Dr. Lai as well as the assistants. Everyone was very kind to me and made me feel very comfortable. I had very minimum to no pain once the novocain wore off; I must say, I was shocked; wasnt expecting my mouth to feel the way it did prior to getting my tooth pulled. Very pleased with my experience at Platinum Dental and can proudly say I will return there for future care!

Dr. Lai looks out for his patients best interest . Dr Lai explains all the options in detail, showing pictures and diagrams of my current issue and best explains the best treatment plan for me. He offers several financial plans that are available if needed to complete my treatment. There is no pressure and he allows me to make the best decision for my personal circumstances. My husband had been going to Platinum Dental in Oak Harbor, for years until this year. He stopped going because of poor customer service and the way they took advantage of him. They refuse to give our money back, $490.50 for dental services they have NOT given to my husband. I went in there today to ask for the money back and was treated extremely poor. They started yelling at me, (I was already nervous as hell, for those of you that know me, you know how anxious I get when confronting someone.) because I was stuttering and flubbering my words all over the place. It was difficult to get words out between Dr. Lai screaming at me, quite literally jumping up and down and beating the counters while his staff (Mostly Evelyn, his wife) were being snarky and rude. I kept trying, and yeah, probably raised my voice, but definitely wasnt yelling. Standing there watching Dr. Lai, I saw an angry gorilla pounding the ground, jumping up and down. Im not kidding folks, he literally did! Jumped up and down, screaming and pounding his fist into the counter. #5 and a friend of ours were both with me, watching him in disbelief.First, they wanted me to take down my unfavorable rating I gave them because of this incident, in order for them to give back the money. I agreed to it, Im happy to take it down and move along my way, if they refund the money. Thats all I wanted. I said so. He said the check will be in the mail as soon as it comes down. I told him I would rather walk out with the check. He said he wouldnt write it until the review came down, I whipped out my phone and said its coming down, write the check. Then Evelyn proceeded to tell me that I will be giving the insurance company the money they are giving me, to settle their debt to them as well. I disagreed, telling her that they owed both the insurance company and my husband the money both parties already gave them for a service not completed.Dr. Lai came out again, saying that this is going nowhere, just give the money back to us, in exchange for me posting a 5 star review on them. I declined. Flat out. Taking down a negative review because both parties came to an agreement is perfectly acceptable to me. Extorting a FALSE review from me is not going to happen.I cannot believe the temper tantrum I saw from Dr. Lai today. Talk about a giant 3 year old. Im glad my husband and four of our children are no longer giving them our business.If any of you are ever in the need of a dentist, I absolutely recommend to stay COMPLETELY away from Platinum Dental. Bad customer service, bad dental work (Dr. Lai broke Marks tooth further, causing a need for extended services and oral surgery.) just bad everything, all over. My advice, stay away and spread the word to your friends you care about.
