After dropping off a saw to be repaired in April, I followed up in the first week of June. Dale had no clue about where it was or the status. Asked me to call back tomorrow to remind him. Visited the shop a week later to ask for it back since I had heard nothing. Dale promised to get it on the bench and let me know ASAP what was going on. After another 2wks without communication I went to retrieve my saw. It was taken apart but nothing else had been done. So after nearly 3 mo of waiting I was in worse shape than when I started. I have been going to Matts saw shop for over a decade buying everything from saws to files, I will not be back. Guess Ill give Owenhouse or somewhere else a try.

Always helpful and friendly! Hard to find true saw shops and small engine specific places now with so many box stores around. Only wish I would have bought my Stihl from them knowing the dealer support would have been great! But they will have my business in the future. Thanks, Dale!

These guys arent organized and dont communicate with their customers.I have an older but pricey chainsaw thats seen little use. It needed a tuneup years ago, so Matts was the only option at the time. It sat another couple years, and needed another tuneup, so I took it to them again.They said it would be 3 weeks. No problem for me. They never called, so I was in Belgrade 1.5 months later and stopped in to ask about it. After 15 minutes of looking through paperwork, asking each other about it, and looking around the shop... they found it.They claimed they had problems fixing it right, so it got put in a corner. I was also told someone had put the wrong gasket kit in it. (they were the only ones to work on it since 1999). He said hed give it another shot in the next few days... and took my number again.Now its another month+ later and I decided to call. Its still not working, they hadnt called, and I suspect theyd just keep it for parts... since they are clearly happy to leave me out of the loop on my own equipment.Im getting the saw back, months later, not working. Thats fine. They could have at least tried to keep me informed, if they worked on it at all!

Nice guys but service sucks. Dropped of 2 weed eaters last spring got 1 back just before winter last year. The other I need to go in to see if they found it yet. The one I got back fired up initially but then died and wouldnt restart. Pulled enough to where my right shoulder have put dropped the machine on the drive way and it broke. Wont be doing business here again.

Ive heard they do good work but i have no idea, I dropped off my demo saw about 8-10 weeks ago. Ive called once a week for the last 4 weeks and still nothing. I have my fingers crossed Ill get it back before Thanksgiving at this point. On the up side they are very nice and apologetic when i call to check timeline.

Actually I give zero stars. I dropped off my Husqvarna 55 rancher, 2000, saw on May 23, 2016 with a fuel leak. I asked they fix the leak, tune it up, and also repair the pull cord that I had field repaired years ago. The saw is old, but is only used handful of times a year. The saw was finally done late August, about 3-months after drop off -- and several phone calls. The fuel leak appears to be fixed. After about 20-minutes of use, the machine is broken. It wont idle and the pull cord will not rewind, so is hanging limp--cannot start machine. I tried fixing it, but could not get it to recoil. Possibly this is just bad luck and the winder broke. I called the store to ask for some tech support by phone -- but as usual, no answer and the mail box is full. In my opinion, this store should be closed for business. Updated Review: I brought the saw into Murdochs in Bozeman. They sent it to their Missoula store. The service was great and the saw works excellent. If only I had known Murdochs could do repair work before I went to Matts.

Horrible service...dont do it!! It took 2 months for a saw tune up, and it still didnt work. Customer service was horrible and staff was rude.
