I showed up July 4 because I was getting too fat for my clothes. Ive enjoyed every day at the gym and its one of the best decisions Ive made in a long time.The workouts are tough and exciting. Unlike when I was going to a regular gym and just going through the motions and doing the same boring workouts. I dont have time to research and plan workouts for myself. I have Crossfit instructors to do that work for me and judge my performance to help guide me to the next level. Every workout we do in there is so intense, Im always dripping sweat from my face and I love it.Its been a little over 2 months and with Crossfits help Ive gone from 178 to 160. Im no longer embarrassed to look at myself in the mirror. I definitely plan on making Crossfit a regular part of my life from here on out.10/10 Would do again!!!

When I was doing a trial membership, one of the main instructors wasnt that friendly. My take is that this is a more competitive culture, geared more towards serious athletes with experience than for family and newbies. That might be a good fit for some people, but I showed up looking to learn the basics

Amazing community filled with friendly and genuine members. Coaching is top notch - technique and form come first before speed and increase in weight. Competitive atmosphere is what differentiates this box from others for me. I love that there are so many competitive female athletes (and males too) that drive me to work that much harder in my training. Best box Ive been to in a while.

CrossFit Reflexion is an awesome box. I have been with them for a month now and have seen incredible gains already. I am getting leaner and stronger then I have ever been and setting new personal records every couple weeks! I have had a great time working out with all the other members, they are all very supportive and great people to be around. I also feel great following my personalized nuitrition plan which has helped improve my recovery time allot. I am putting in more work than I have ever before and am feeling less sore while doing it, the programming is a lot of fun and includes a lot of skill work which I need a lot of. They are also great in welcoming people of all ages and fitness levels and providing a lot of attention to people just beginning.

CrossFit Reflexion is great!Reflexion is a unique place where the only thing that matters is that we are growing and advancing; not that we arrive at some arbitrary strength. The culture that the coaches have created with their clients is incredibly supportive and infectious! Each client is mentored and taught how to improve and grow. Each and every relationship is important to them.PRs are not just for bravado, they are a result of careful, consistent, thoughtful, mature and responsible coaching and programming.

Having never done CrossFit before, I was hesitant and anxious upon arriving for my first class, during the free trial week. My nerves were soon put to rest. The coaches and other long-term clients were extremely patient and encouraging. Safely executing lifting movements to avoid injury is a high priority, which I find reassuring especially since I am new to this style of training. I have quickly seen results in my strength and cant wait to see more.

Most gyms charge extra for this! CF Reflexion has a well-educated and experienced coaching staff that is passionate in sharing their knowledge. The attention each athlete gets, no matter what level, is remarkable. The CF Reflexion community is very welcoming, fun and eager to help one another. They inspire and motivate one another to become better athletes and better people. I’ve been Crossfitting for about 3 years now, and I’ve experienced more progress at this gym in 6 months than I have in the previous years combined. I have been at CrossFit Reflexion for just about a month and the improvements Ive seen in this short amount of time have been incredible. The community is welcoming and supportive regardless of your ability, and the coaches are extremely knowledgeable. Not only do they offer personalized attention to every athlete, the customized nutrition program is what truly separates Reflexion apart from other CrossFit gyms. Since joining a month ago, I have already lost 2+% body fat and feel stronger/leaner than I ever have. I joined the Reflexion Barbell Club several months ago, and have been working with Coach Jesse specifically on Olympic weightlifting since then. Jesse has great knowledge of the sport, having competed in it since he was young. Getting guidance from a nationally competitive weightlifter has been an invaluable experience. In addition to his own experience, Jesse regularly communicates with globally recognized weightlifting experts (like Coach Wu Chuanfu) and draws on their knowledge to deepen his own and to supplement his coaching techniques, and it really shows in his daily interactions with his lifters. That dedication and understanding helps him to provide specific guidance to each lifter, and to tailor programming to meet each lifters needs. Since I have been at Reflexion Jesse has helped me to undo years of bad habits that I accumulated lifting elsewhere and on my own, making my lifting style more balanced, stable and smooth. That movement efficiency has translated to greater speed, which has led to increased weight on the bar.Having an experienced weightlifting coach watching your daily sessions (which Jesse does - every session) helps you to develop quickly and increases your confidence when you step up to the bar. I highly recommend the Reflexion Barbell Club to anyone who wants to improve their lifts, regardless of their starting skill level. Jesse can help everyone, from beginners to advanced lifters.

As an active CrossFitter for the past 4 ½ years I have been coached by many CrossFit trainers. Where CrossFit Reflexion differentiates itself from other CrossFit gyms is in their preparation, attention to detail, and immense knowledge of fitness and nutrition. This is the only CrossFit gym I am aware of that does customized nutrition for each member free of charge. Workout programming is strategically planned with short and long term goals and a series of benchmarks to ensure everyone is making progress. The gym does a fantastic job of integrating competitive athletes with those who are training get in shape, creating a high energy environment with a positive atmosphere. I cannot say enough great things about my experience with CrossFit Reflexion and would recommend it to anyone looking to set goals, work hard, and adhere to their motto “change the way you see yourself.”

If youre looking for excellent coaching, this is the place to be. I cannot believe the gains in strength and skills I have made over the past year at CrossFit Reflexion. I think their motto should be, We can fix that because thats exactly what they do. The coaches continously emphasize proper form and technique as well as the importance of mobility. Their programming is outstanding and really caters to preparing for the Open and other competitions.

I am beyond excited to call CrossFit Reflexion my home. I started CrossFit almost 2 years ago but decided to take it a little more seriously about 6 months ago. I started with just the Wednesday night Oly class with Coach J and decided to make a permanent move. The coaching is superb with great attention to detail, the programming is comprehensive, and the community is warm and welcoming. I just wanted to do a pull-up. Just one! I had other friends who worked out at Crossfit and that seemed like a way to accomplish my goal. I was directed towards Reflexion because I heard their coaching and programming was the best. I havent been disappointed. Between the workouts, the suburb technical coaching, and following the nutrition plan, I have surpassed my goal and gone beyond the strength level I thought would. I am the strongest and fittest I have ever been in my entire life. And that credit goes to Reflexion. Best Box on earth.

When I first got a taste of CrossFit at a non-affiliated gym I fell in love right away with the variety of workouts and wide spectrum of movements. After relocating to a different city, I found Reflexion and all those movements I had learned previously improved so quickly. They teach proper form, technique, nutrition and with the combination of a well planned strength and conditioning program theres no way you wont improve immensely towards whatever your goal is from whatever level you start at here. The genuine people and friendly competition is just the cherry on top.

With crossfit growing at an exponential rate, its good to have a box that sticks to the foundations of the sport. They dont charge for extra services that should come standard with an unlimited membership which speaks volumes as a member of a community. I have done Crossfit in the past at another box, but learned to be safer, and more efficient in my movements after a short period of time working with Shawn and Jesse. From day one at CrossFit Reflexion, I felt completely welcomed! My husband and I decided to try out the box because they offer a one week free trial, and after day one we both knew we wanted to join! We were taken aside for instruction, shown ways to scale down the exercises, given specific instructions for progression, given one on one teaching, and personalized nutrition evaluation/assessment. I have never felt lost in the crowd or concerned about performing any of the movements, because Im always given specific instruction/teaching before going through the WOD. Also Ive never in my life been excited to workout, until now... I look forward to the post for what the next days WOD will be, and even when it looks really hard, Im excited to go and try! I highly recommend CrossFit Reflexion to anyone who wants to either try CrossFit for the first time, or switch to a gym with very focused teaching/training to maximize your strength and nutrition gains.

Just Moved to the Portland Area little over a month ago. Did some shopping around looking for a great box to join, went to three in the area and couldnt find a fit. My 4th stop was Crossfit Reflexion and it was my final stop. They treated me like i had been a member for years. Great Coaching and Great programming. The atmosphere and community with in the gym is excellent. i instantly felt at home after the first day i walked inn. I joined that next week after my free week expired..... I was a bit unsure about CrossFit when I wondered into Reflexion but Jesse, Shawn, Sabrina and Eric communicated the movements so clearly that the intimidation and apprehension quickly wore off. Reflexion is a very welcoming place! Since starting a month ago my knee (4 acl surgeries) is feeling like it did when I was a highschool wrestler. Im quickly getting in the best cardiovascular and muscle strength shape of my life. Reflexion is like family already.....family that you want to crush in every workout.

CrossFit Reflexion is hands down the best gym in town! Not only are the coaches fantastic but the community is as well. I feel like I am pushed to new levels each day and not only are the workouts great, there is a tailored nutrition plan with my membership, which keeps me accountable. Shawn Wilson set me up with a nutrition plan that, although I was skeptical, is totally working for me. People always say “abs are made in the kitchen” and I never really saw that until changing my diet with his help!When it comes to Olympic lifting, you cant find any better than our own Coach J. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Olympic lifting; he is patient and always has a way of pushing me to new limits. CrossFit Reflexion is great for newbies to the sport to athletes. I joined Crossfit Reflexion when I found out I was being deployed to Afghanistan. With only a month of joining the gym, I took off 2 minutes off my 2 mile run while making jumps in both my push up and sit up score. The training I received prepared me for my strenuous training prior to my deployment.The coaches at the gym are very knowledgeable and helpful. They worked with me to push myself without re-injuring prior injuries I had sustained during my military career. I will be coming back to them when I return next year.

Before I joined Crossfit Reflexion, I was completely out of shape and fitness. One of my friend referred me to this gym, what I now prefer to call as home for fitness. I was very skeptical about the program initially, if I could cope up with it, as I still remember gasping for breath on day one. But Gurus/Coaches here at Crossfit Reflexion proved me wrong. With proper training tailored to my abilities (being a beginner to Crossfit), along with the systematic approach and technique, helped me regain fitness and make me leaner. This program is the best!!! I have tried several other crossfit gyms in the area and felt that Crossfit Reflexion was the best fit for me. I first tried Crossfit a couple years ago when it had just started in Eugene while visiting a friend. Since that time it has spread to all parts of the world and is one of the most talked about fitness regimens. I found the need for a challenging workout that can push me as I progress to my personal goals. It has a great team of fitness members at all different levels from the beginner to the elite athletes. The program allows you to progress at your own level and pace with attainable goals in both fitness and nutrition. It has great coaches who have pushed me when I have needed it and aren’t afraid to tell me to take it easier when necessary. It is one of the only places that my daughter can and wants to workout side by side with me. Whether you are looking for long term or short term goals this program has given me immediate results that I can see daily/weekly to help to motivate me.

Ive been to 6 CrossFit boxes across the nation and it is apparent CrossFit Reflexion is the best one by far. The crossfitters are welcoming and supportive, and the coaching here is top of the line. The NorthWest is so lucky now because CrossFit Reflexion is THE most well-rounded box. Out of towner visiting family but couldnt have 5 rest days in a row (you know what Im talking about) dropped in to CR for 3 days in a row and was thoroughly impressed by the friendliest coaching, other members, excellent programming and going the extra mile every time I went to train. I hit up a 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM and 6:30 AM wod. Warms ups were different and catered to the workouts and workouts were efficient and well managed. Members were welcoming, and Coach Shawn was the best. Really notices things about your lifting and mechanics quickly and accurately and gives solutions to fix or improve. Took extra time after two wods to help me out more with a couple tweaks. Ive never been more impressed or more bummed out to leave a box and go back home! Will absolutely return when Im back in town!

I have been a part of the CrossFit family for over a year now. I started coming to Reflexion to improve my Olympic lifting skills at Coach J’s Oly class. I knew more efficient movements would save me time and energy in all of my WOD’s as well as prevent injuries. It only took me a few classes to start realizing results, and how bad my form used to be. During the short one hour class I got a small glimpse of a different style of training. I have now been at CFRx for about a month and have begun to understand the benefits of treating CF training as a sport and not just a workout. Shawn is a master with nutrition planning, functional movements, and training. Jesse will teach you to be more efficient with his mastery of Olympic lifting. Not to mention the community support and camaraderie in the box, but let’s be honest if you’re at a CF gym and that doesn’t exist you need to find a new gym. In short, if you’re serious about improving yourself this is where you should be, turning perceived limitations into goals.

Weve been doing CF for almost two years now, have had a handful of coaches, and have visited quite a few other affiliates. I like to switch it up between both locations since I work in Beaverton but live in Hillsboro and it works great.Convenience aside, I love the coaches and the people. I moved up from Los Angeles recently and had been scouring the area for a new place to call Home. Honestly, I could have chosen from a bunch of different gyms/boxes but when I cracked a (really bad) joke during an early morning class and it got some laughs, I knew I found a winner.I also love that the coaches are more than willing to help you with practically ANYTHING. Need help rolling out your quads? Check. Want to do a muscle up? Check.Ashley, Shawn, and Jesse are the bomb-diggity. Special shoutout to Ashley, though, for constantly pushing my lazy self during the WODs and Shawn for having to deal with my early morning Stink Face.

I was a bit trepidatious about starting at a CF gym as I have no desire to get rhabdo whilst doing handstand pushups on a bosu ball. I was pleasantly surprised after my trial week at CF Reflexion. While some gyms seem to roll the dice to come up with a completely random routine, the programming at CF Reflexion is much more focused on getting their members stronger and more athletic. Their knowledgeable coaches were able to pinpoint my weaknesses [no no, I do have some] and fix many of my form issues. The atmosphere is great and the coaches are fantastic motivators.A few weeks in, I decided i wanted to drop a few % of body fat. Ive been cognizant of my diet previously but, the diet they set up for me had me dropping body fat while still feeling energized/healthy. Also, this was all part of my membership. Good stuff.

Ive known Jesse for over 25 years. I live/crossfit in another town but recently had the opportunity to attend his olympic lifting class in a neighboring town.Ive been to two other classes of this type, of which both were good, but the way that Jesse broke down the movement in easy to understand terms & examples, made it easy to follow. These are all very complex movements that can be overwhelming to learn & to teach. It takes a very talented person to not only perform these movements perfectly but to TEACH them in an understandable fashion.You can break these lifts down so much at first that athletes become confused and/or overwhelmed when putting all the pieces together standing in front of the bar.He was able to attend to every skill level face to face, showing them what they needed to work on - whether it was someones 1st month or 7th year of training.One last blurb is he would go in to the why of each movement which helped solidfy the importance of the little tweaks he was suggesting throughout the day. From foot placement, hip/butt placement to active shoulders, he explained the importance of each.Lastly, it was a ton of fun!If any of you have the chance to spend some time with Jesse, I highly recommend jumping at the opportunity.

After almost 2 years of crossfit, my wife and I decided it was time to change things up and check out some different gyms; we talked to Coach Jesse and went in for a week trial. We were both very impressed and signed up right away. Coaches Jesse and Shawn have created a great blend of strength training (Including Olympic lifting), skill work, traditional crossfit workouts, and nutrition planning. It has only been a couple months, but we’re both seeing improvements and enjoying every minute of it. If your new to crossfit and looking for a gym, or experienced and looking for something new/different than your current box provides, I highly recommend Crossfit Reflexion.

If you have a desire for gains (sometimes spelt as gainz), and to be smooth as butter with your Olympic Lifting, go see Coach Jesse at Crossfit Reflexion. I’ve attended his Olympic Lifting class on Wednesday’s for the last month, and have seen significant gains in my lifts (Clean and Snatch). My lifting form has improved under Coach Jesse’s guidance, where I’m pulling and catching the weight confidently instead of having: scrapped shins, shaky landing in the pocket, performing a donkey kick with my foot transition, and an incomplete second pull. Basically he corrected a lot of things.Coach Jesse is able to quickly diagnose anyone’s form and help you correct it in a clear and concise manner. With his coaching, programming, and keen eyes, you’ll only end up with improved qualities: strength, explosive speed, efficient technique, and lifting confidence. Which I definitely have seen happen to myself.

As an (ahem) older athlete with some limitations due to a variety of injuries, Ive found the coaching staff at CrossFit Reflexion to be outstanding at helping me continue to improve my overall fitness.Shawns knowledge of physiology and training has helped me rehab a total shoulder replacement to where Im almost back to doing all the overhead lifts I want to. In addition to that, hes helped me with creaky knees, blown out achilles, and Im stronger than I was in my 20s.Where CFRx really shines is in the nutritional counsuling. The coaching staff know that nutrition is 70%+ of the equation to body composition, so EVERY member who wants a customized nutrition program gets it - as part of the gym membership. Makes you wonder why other gyms dont follow suit - its not rocket science but it sure works.Finally, the vibe is second to none. The place is filled with highly motivated and supportive people at all levels of fitness. Theres no elitism going on (although we have some elite athletes!) and everyone is encouraging and helpful. Im often the last one to finish a WOD, and the cheering for me is just as loud as for the winner.If youre serious about making a change in your life, and want to be in the best shape ever, check it out! I was very skeptical when people would ask if I ever wanted to try crossfit. I am a very competitive person; more so with myself than others. This worried me because I felt I would try to go all out and do too much. After much discussion with a couple of coworkers, I decided I cannot be one of those who talks crap without trying something. In May, I was training for a marathon and triathlon. I ended up with horrible shin splints, so I figured that was my time. I tried a class at CrossFit Reflexion and fell in love! The coaches are absolutely wonderful and would never allow me to do more than I am capable. They are all about safety and technique. I started going to CrossFit Reflexion religiously in June. I went from super tight hip flexors and squating to a box with 120 pounds to squating 205 pounds and no box. I lost 7% of my body fat in a matter of 3 1/2 months.I ran 14 miles non-stop in the marathon I thought I wasnt going to be able to participate in. Mind you I walked the rest of the way, but finished none the less! (Some small runs were completed prior to the marathon, but not more than 10 miles and the last was 3 plus weeks prior). I feel CrossFit Reflexion helped prepare me mentally for the challenge of completing my first marathon.I still have work to do and need to perfect many more lifts. With the help from the coaches here at CrossFit Reflexion, I know I will accomplish these tasks! Absolutely love the programming, members, and coaches. I feel my fitness goals will be met in no time with the help of CrossFit Reflexion!

I am very fortunate to have been training with the coaches and crew at Reflexion. Before I started, I had hit a wall. I was not making any gains in strength and was very frustrated with the coaching I was receiving at the other box. In less than a year, I have PRd every lift and my technique has improved hugely in my Oly lifts. And the nutrition advice from Coach Shawn Wilson has been excellent, lowering my bodyfat composition and increasing my all around performance. The coaches at Crossfit Reflexion really know their stuff. At age 36, I am stronger than I have ever been in my life and expect that trend to continue. If I can do it, ANYONE can. Believe that!

I started at Crossfit Reflexion with no real idea on what crossfit really was, I had about 2 years of normal gym time before switching to crossfit, which comprised the normal gym routine, show up lift heavy for a few hours and go home. When I switched to crossfit I was attracted by the functional fitness and the fact that every one who was actively pursuing crossfit were in such great shape. When I started I didnt know how to complete olympic lifts or how to do most of the exercises that are required in crossfit and that bugged me because i felt like I was in good shape but I was being lapped by everyone at the gym. At crossfit reflexion the instructors were awesome, they would greet everyone by name every time they walked in and made sure even the newest members felt welcomed. The instructors were also very knowledgeable in how to lift properly and get the most out of every class. After 1 month of training with the help of the awesome instructors my fitness level changed for the better and I noticed that I had better lifting techniques and my cardio and endurance level had gone up. Being active duty Coast Guard I received orders to transfer across country, although excited I was having such a great time at that gym and interacting with all the students and instructors that I was sad to leave. But everything that I learned at Crossfit Reflexion I have and will continue to use in my crossfit future and I would highly suggest to anyone interested in looking at crossfit in the portland area to stop by Reflexion and give them a try they really know how to make you feel welcomed and they know how to teach crossfit so that it is understandable and fun.

It seems like any CrossFitter you talk to is going to say their gym is the best. Pretty much everyone doing it has fun, sees results, and likes the people. Its obviously no different here, but in my 4 months at CrossFit Reflexion Ive noticed that most other clients are transplants from other CrossFit gyms. Here are some reasons I suspect a lot of them have stayed and why I love it here:1) Personalized coaching. They dont just count your reps, but they look at your form, fatigue, and recovery and give you tips on how you can best progress without getting hurt.2) More than just WoDs (workouts of the day). Reflexion has strength training that complements the WoDs, olympic lifting classes, classes for kids, nutrition programs, open gym hours, and more.3) Not just for meat heads. Their clients are people of all fitness levels, each getting out of it what they need to meet their goals. Im older than most people here and nowhere close to the same level as a lot of them but I feel right at home. Its all about our individual goals and what it takes to reach them and set new ones.4) Learning and growing. Since I joined Ive learned a lot about my body mechanics, including some issues that I developed over the years of working out on my own. Ive learned new movements and more importantly, the principles that help me execute them more efficiently and more safely.Overall, this is a fantastic place and I look forward to workouts and gains more than I have in years. If youre shopping around for a gym, definitely stop in, talk with the coaches, and meet some members to find out for yourself why so many have given them 5 stars.

Update: Almost 1 year later and what I wrote below is even more true today! I am stronger, more athletic and have a greater capacity to understand what it means to be physically fit. Sure, I put in the time and the work (you have to), but never in my life have I seen these kind of results. Not only in myself but in all of my fellow crossfiters/ Oly lifters around me. I have been and I am still am coached in a professional manner, that is safe, educational and fun. I have been Crossfitting now for nearly 2.5 years and I recently decided to switch things up and try out a new box. After my one-week trial over at Reflexion … I knew that this is exactly where I needed to be. I have not only learned more about form and technique than I have in years of training; but in just two short weeks I have also reached 4 new PR’s and have accomplished things that I never thought I would be able to do. The attention that the coaches pay to each and every member is like I have never experienced. They are not only extremely knowledgeable … but supportive, encouraging, and just great people to be around. Crossfit Reflexion is not your typical crossfit gym. While many crossfit gyms seem to pull workouts out of a hopper, Reflexion takes a different approach to training. Everyday is constructed to consider the big picture and make you a better athlete in every domain.Workouts at Reflexion are not meant to just make you sweat and breath hard, rather, every workout has been well-thought out and plays its own role into the overall structured plan to provide appropriate and measurable progressions for every member.In addition, Reflexion offers the same quality in regards to their nutritional planning for every member. Again, the goal being to not just loose weight, but to have you ready to preform in your workout and in your daily life.In the two months Ive been at Reflexion every one of my oly lifts have gone up, my gymnastic movements are more efficient, and my body fat percentage is back down to when I was in college.I highly recommend Crossfit Reflexion and all they have to offer. Crossfit Reflexion is by far one of the best gyms in the Portland area. I have been to other crossfit gyms and regular gyms and I have never gotten anything near the amazing customer service that I have from the trainers at Crossfit Reflexion. Shaw, Jesse, and Erick care about each member equally. They are engaged from day 1 with helping you reach your goals. They are open to people coming in who want to do more strength training or Olympic lifting work than just pure crossfit. The nutrition plan (included in membership) is awesome and Shawn does great work tailoring your nutrition plan to your specific goals (lose weight, gain strength, etc.). When I arrive at the gym I feel like I am spending time with family rather than just working out. The atmosphere is enjoyable and everyone from the most veteran members to the newest are welcoming and friendly. Everyone there, not just the coaches, want to see you excel and reach your goals.I have been working with Shawn, Jesse, and Erick since July 2012 and I have seen my strength increase, my technique improve and my endurance increase. I was doing crossfit at another gym for a year and I never saw the gains that I have experienced in just the few short months of going to Crossfit Reflexion. My back squat went from 185# to 300# in 8 weeks! My Olympic lifting has become more technically sound. I am also leaner than I was before while still maintaining my strength and speed. Not only have I gotten better but thanks to the world class training Shawn, Jesse and Erick provide, I have been able to avoid injury while still maintaining a demanding training program.Go check out Crossfit Reflexion! You pay for training at CrossFit and it is much more expensive than other gyms. There was no coaching during lifting. The rep scheme on the workouts was unusually high. Guessing they have a lot of turnover.
