I have known Dr. Fanning for years and have been a patient for over 10 years. His relaxed style and conversational tone puts me at ease when I go to his office. He was the first dentist to ever pull teeth for me and I found the experience painless with no problems. I was a little anxious about the procedure, but it went smoothly and I told him I would rather have a tooth pulled than drilled.I recommend him as a great family dentist and tell others about his practice whenever I get the chance. I hope others will consider him when they need a friendly dentist to take care of their dental procedure.

Dr. D. Alton Fanning Jr, DMD, whom I have been visiting for several years, is a five star dentist. His office accepts my discount dental plan and the fees are always reasonable for the services rendered. I especially appreciate that he does not attempt to push procedures that I dont want. He administers absolutely pain free anesthesia. His assistants are friendly and professional. I will continue to visit Dr. Fanning and I would recommend him to everyone for their dental needs.

I had an emergency procedure performed at his office a few months ago. I was expecting a rough handling since I just staggered into his office 7:30 in the morning, but Dr Fanning and his staff were very kind and compassionate. Dr Fanning was very gentle, and took extra time to make sure I was comfortable during the procedure. He was gentler than many of female dentists I have seen in the past. What a pleasant surprise! I see his Dental Hygienist for semi-annual cleaning, and just love her.I highly recommend Dr Alton Fanning’s office.

Dr. Fanning has been our family Dentist for almost twenty years. He is a exceptional Dentist. I have never felt pain during any procedure and my daughter who lives in Charleston comes back to Beaufort to his practice because she feels like he is family. Hes not only a great dentist he is also very community minded. He is friendly and puts you at ease during every visit.

Dr. Fanning and his staff made sure I was comfortable in every way, including a blanket when I was cold😊. During my procedures, Dr. Fanning and his staff, fully described what was happening and made sure I didnt feel anything. What makes his dentistry even better, is the fact that they call me the day after to make sure I am doing ok and if I need anything.I love this dentistry and dont plan on leaving!!

Seriously, I dont like going to the dentist. Not at all. I do like to be able to smile though. I had to see Dr. Fanning because I broke a tooth over Thanksgiving. It was a surprisingly easy event. His staff helped me to feel very comfortable, Jodie Bellflower, his assistant, was hilarious. He talked to me in a very calm matter and it was taken care of in no time! I wont say that it was fun, because I really dont like going to the dentist, but I will say that this office made it much easier!Thank you Dr. Fanning and staff!

His staff is very professional and efficient! Dr. Fanning is terrific. He is very affable and easy to talk to...makes going to a dentist a pleasure. My girls like him too! My entire family has been going to him for at least 8 years.

I went in for a cleaning recently to which my insurance covered. Since the hurricane, money has been tight because of various damages and car issues while evacuating. I was informed that I needed a couple fillings and told them that I could not pay out of pocket and that itd have to wait until my insurance waiting period ends. I had minor, one surface cavity but was made to feel like an irresponsible person for not having the money to fix this right away. Also, when I was asked to make an appointment for an oral surgeon to remove 2 wisdom teeth that havent even made it out of my bone yet, I responded with the fact that Id have to wait until til the waiting period was over due to money issues caused by the hurricane. the hygienist responded with maybe you should make more money so you can actually take care of your mouth. Excuse me if I was out of work (a full time job) for 10 days and am behind in money because of being evacuated. Also excuse me for being a full time student who is doing the best she can. I understand the importance of taking care of your body but if I dont have the money, I dont have it. Then the hygienist made a huge deal about me asking for a ballpark estimate of what all this work would cost so I could be sure to save up until my waiting period ended. Unprofessional is a nice word Id use for this hygienist. While speaking about hygiene, Dr. Fanning thought I wouldnt notice him wiping snot from his nose with his finger, picking up a pair of gloves with his dirty hands, and putting them on without thinking twice. Excuse me, youre dirty hands transfer your filth onto the outside of the gloves that youre about to put in my mouth!

Dr. Fanning is truly a up standing, and kind man. A great dentist and individual. He not only took care of my pain, but he did it with the upmost respect. He is very proficient, understanding, and cares about his patients. Never tries to take advantage of no one or over charge. There should be more dentist like that today. He cares more about his profession and patients. Way more than the old mighty buck. Thank you Dr. Fanning for everything. To me he is the #1 dentist in Beaufort I think hands down.

Dr. Fanning has been providing my dental care for about 8 years. During that period, my teeth have required some extensive restoration and care. Dr. Fanning has skillfully performed the required procedures, while also doing his best to minimize any discomfort.When offering a treatment plan, Dr. Fanning has always taken the time to explain both the benefits and the costs of available treatment options, and he does not attempt tosell the most expensive course of treatment. If there is a conservative approach to the problem, he has always offered that option to me.Dr.Fanning is a skilled, ethical, and caring dentist who has has earned my trust and confidence.

I went to this dentist today in hopes of beginning the journey of getting the best smile I could get. This man made me leave out his office in tears!!!! I was already nervous knowing that I needed alot of work. Dr fanning was just being a little bit rough and as I mentioned it he got up and had a temper tanterninum leaving me in the chair. I have never experienced such disrespect as I did today I was so hurt I have never been treated this way in my life!!! I hope nobody ever goes to this office

Since the first day both my husband and I went to our office visits we felt the unprofessionalism in the care and environment. When I tried asking for a discount to the office manager TERRY she immediately become condescending and hostile. The little procedures that I had was not urgent and could of been covered in 6 months. They could of done a better job at explaining my options. Terrible customer service!! I dont recommend this place!!

We had an emergency dental problem and called Dr. Fannings office after hours and Dr. Fanning came in and fixed the problem. He was the only dentist that cared enough to come in after hours and amazingly the price was the same as it would have been during the day time. WoW were we impressed, not only did he fix the problem but we werent overcharged either. I will highly recommend Dr. Fanning to all my friends. fast and courteous service with a smile LOL no pun intended
