If you want to go get your reels cleaned, and them break it, and they tell you the part takes 3 months to get, this is the spot for you. Also if you would like baits there spinner baits there are a solid 15 bucks I believe Walmart has a better selection of baits.

Family owned, great service, great selection of baits, lures, terminal tackle and line. Also great reel service and they do a great job spooling reels as well, much better than doing them yourself at home, no twist and very even!

We love this place! Its where to go to find the best gear selected specifically for our area, and to find out whats biting where, from the Atchafalaya Basin over to the Rigolets down to Venice. If owner Mark and his staff dont know, just hang out a few minutes and someone will show up who does know. Its the place all the best area fishermen and women go. Great rod/reel repair service, too. Excellent inshore and bass fishing bait selection, in particular. They welcome us female fishers, too. Even went out to parking lot & showed me how to use a bait-caster once. And the blue sparkly sac jig heads we got that work great and are made someplace near Opelousas, I cant find anywhere else....A local business owned and run by locals, for locals!

The people were very, and I found all of the Bates that I was looking for, and they had a large selection of rods and reels as well. they also had a lot of fishing shirts and other equipment, including anchors and other necessities

I went here because of all the good reviews about them, but it was a mistake. I brought in a pole to get epoxied in glitter, the man I dealt with was rude from the beginning, acting like I didnt know what I was talking about when I told him what I wanted, Im assuming its because I am a young woman, because he didnt act that way with any of the men that were shopping there. He asked me if I would like a picture of a small portion of the work before they did the whole pole, and I never received that picture. I was told it would take a few days and they would call me when it was ready, and I never received that call. I had to call and check on it and was told it was ready, when I asked how much it would be the guy on the phone told me it would be $20, when I got there (five minutes later) to pay for it, the price jumped up to $30. At this point I didnt ask questions I just paid and left. For the work done to the pole, it wasnt great, it was splotchy, and had I been notified with a picture, I would have asked for more glitter. All in all the experience was terrible.

Shari went to Mark last spring & told him we wanted to start fishing for redfish & specks and asked him to outfit us with what we needed. She left there that day with everything we needed including the best times to fish, where to get the live bait near the landing and suggestions on weather conditions and a lesson on how to use our new equipment.This is a family owned and operated business and a great resource for the beginner all the way to the seasoned professional. OK these guys were absolutely great, they repaired my broken rod and respooled my line for less than 20 bucks. in turn stayed there while he bought a bunch other fishing stuff cant help myself, thank you to the staff
