Just read on NextDoor that a renter has spent weeks trying to get the AC repaired and has gotten no help from the manager. In this August heat, with children in the apartment? People need to know.
These apartments are poorly put together, my apartment flooded from the top floor to bottom in one month in living there and blamed it on me. Their insurance is trash maintenance is not reliable. They didn’t want me to move in another apartment nor break my lease. I tried corporate office she is no good either, absolutely no help. I do not recommend these apartments to anyone children living here is no go. I have two kids and I regret it!!!!!
Goodwood Place Apartments are perfect for me, affordable, clean, quite living. Fast service on any maintenance needs, pest control, etc... Always able to reach someone with any needs or concerns any time of the day or night. Love living here!
Straight garbage!! Been there a year and still haven’t received the things I was supposed to have since day 1.. McKenzie is a horrible and they don’t have no maintenance.
A warning to all future applicants of Goodwood Place Apartments:TL;DR: WILL NOT RETURN THE REFUNDABLE PORTION OF YOUR APPLICATION FEE IF YOUR APPLICATION IS DENIED FOR ANY REASON. THE OFFICE STAFF IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH, WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS, AND GENERALLY BE DISHONEST AND INCOMPETENT ABOUT INQUIRING TENANTS. LOST $100 JUST APPLYING HERE!!!My fiancee and I were very interested in renting and applied for a two bedroom unit. Both of us were going to be named as tenants on the lease and was required to apply individually, which is standard. What is also common, is complying with the application fees.We were explained by one of their representatives in the office that if we were to fail either the background check or credit check or were found unable to rent, that our application fee would be refunded. One part of their application fee is non refundable, which I think is the credit check, but the second part of the fee was refundable if we were to not pass the application process for any reason and assured we would get that money back.In April of 2020 we followed their procedures for applying and lo and behold, one of us, was not applicable, therefore unable to move further as future tenants. Since that was the case, we were assured that our fee (which would have carried over and contributed to our first months rent) would be returned to us. This fee amounted to around $100.We chased that money for two months. Constantly called their offices, were promised the check is in the mail, we sent it out, etc.Since the covid outbreak, we could not physically go to their offices, we were told, so were forced to call and call and call and left messages and left more messages...We have both moved on from this incident and took the loss. Fortunately for us we are in a much better financial position than we were while dealing with Goodwood Place. Yet, it hurt us because that money we lost was a big hit to us at that time. I will never forgive those responsible for not keeping their intended promises, giving us the run around, and literally STEALING from me and my fiancee when we were at a vulnerable state, on a strict budget, and was counting pennies to afford food (thank you Ramen gods for being cheap and filling). When we needed that money the most, Goodwood Place withheld it.Lord knows who has that money, but I can say with full honesty that it was not returned to its rightful owners. So, whenever we can, my fiancee and I always, ALWAYS, tell this story to friends, family members, and any listening party where that topic is relevant and sometimes even when its not! We both work with the public and deal with a lot of people who are new to our city. We never skip an opportunity to share this horror story and warn rental seekers to stay far away from Goodwood Place and all of the other apartments that are managed by their incompetent team. From what we have heard, and we have heard A LOT, we dodged the proverbial bullet anyways. The management is apparently infamously notorious for not keeping good on their relationships with their current tenants, maintains an unprofessional atmosphere within their on site offices, and allows maintenance problems to go unrepaired for ridiculously long amounts of time.(We recently heard a horror story about a broken air conditioner during the hottest part of August and went unchecked for an obscenely long time! We are still praying for you girl!)Potential tenants, you have been warned!
If you have morales and value yourself as a human being please DO NOT move here. Literally the absolute worst apartment experience i ever had in my entire life so thankful im gone.
I am so happy they finally have a caring new manager. Just hope she will stay. She is already making a different. It is a slow put it is happening. They cant keep anyone.
Its a convenient location quiet I leave for work really early before sunrise and I feel safe. Quiet neighbors . Understanding staff.
My daughter lives there and had a small problem and the manager handled it gracefully and successful. I am so glad that they hired a caring manager
Worst apartment I’ve ever had. Place is runned down, office is never opened during business hours, stated online or on the building door. Maintenance is a joke as well as the rest of the staff. They have amnesia regarding any issues you have brought to their attention. Verbally promise you things and don’t keep word or bring to higher authority within the company. They try to be nice with you but don’t do their job at all. I don’t recommend anyone staying here at ALL. They move in special may seem good and promising but don’t do it. It’s not worth the hassle or time to make someone do their job. Having to be rude and ignorant just so they can get off of they ass. HATE THIS PLACE!!
Great new leasing agent. She’s super friendly! Love her personality!
Great place to live. The staff is quick at addressing concerns and the leasing agent is very friendly and helpful!
I would not recommend ANYBODY to live here. They cannot keep management and the communication is terrible. My lease was up last month and I have paid this complex 13 months of rent payment for a 12 month lease. I didn’t know a 30 days notice had to be written so I didn’t hand it in until the 10 of last month..I found out that since it wasn’t handed in 30 days before my end of lease date.. I forfeited my deposit..that was the least of my worries..I just wanted to be done with this complex and stop giving them my money because my lease was up. Now here comes October and they are charging me rent as well as a month to month fee..I went up there for the FOURTH time and they could not find the 30 days notice that I wrote and the leasing agent that I gave it to prior had quit..the agent that was there told me that the manager hadn’t taken me out the system and that’s why it charged me rent..she told me she would take care of it and that she would call me. Now here it is Oct. 11th..I have been charged a late fee AND they are calling me about eviction!! I cannot get another apartment with this on my rental history!! It’s going to look like I owe them money and have been evicted from an apartment I DO NOT LIVE AT!! This is a terrible experience for somebody that moved out for the first time!! Please do your research before moving into these complexes!! I have the original notice that I wrote them..along with my lease and printed out screenshots to document payments I’ve made, payments they’ve charged me..nurmerous phone calls I’ve made to them that they never answered..as well as the phone call I got from them about eviction!! Im hoping this gets resolved soon...I have all my proof!
Unfortunately I currently live in this complex and it is a disgrace on how this property is managed. Bet your bottom dollar that when my lease its up, Im getting the hell out of here faster than a runaway slave running from their master. The place is runned down and so called repairs are shoddy at best and this is an understatement, thats even if you get any repairs done. You might be better off staying under the interstate than to rent here. They also are on the higher end of the rent market but you can find cheaper with way better amenities and better maintenance service. Goodwood place doesnt even provide the bare minimum, basic necessities to their residents. Doctors and nurses tell me to keep my stress level down while trying to recover from surgery due to breast cancer and going though treatment, please tell me how when I have no working bathroom sink and a leak in my bedroom that drips loudly all night when it rains.
I lived at goodwood for several years with so many broken promises!! They never keep a manager and the ones they do have only feed u bull to get off the phone or out of your company. The location was perfect for me but the complex is horrible. You can barely get anything fixed and if u do it’s never in a timely manner! I tried to remain professional with several people and they only understand when you get crazy!!! When those units caught fire office staff was HORRIBLE to those people and the fire was caused by wiring!!! I overall would not suggest anyone to move into this complex!!! I’ve never in my life left a bad review for an establishment but I had to find the reviews for this place because that’s how uncaring they are!!!! I had several issues with my unit and was promised several times it would get taken care of LIES, this place is worse then somewhere you’d pay 500$ rent!!! There’s a convent rent increase every year upon renewal but nothing is ever done. Those pictures on Facebook and their site is one unit that was redone by a former maintence worker!!! DONT LET THOSE PICTURES FOOL YOU THERES ONE ONE BEDROOM AND ONE TWO BEDROOM THAT WAS RENAVATED EVERYTHING ELSE IS EXTREMELY OUTDATED!!!!
The only reason I will ever give them a star is the some of the office staff...!There is all kinds of plumbing problems with the property. Also the property manager is so slow to fix OR TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. The apartment creek and squeak when you are walking up stairs.
Horrible experience. Parking lot floods, even in light rain. RUDE management.
Worst place to work for, disrespectful supervisor, 2 people maintenance staff, roads are horrible & no tools to get the job done in time. No golf courts, office needs training. Overall bad place to work.
I never lived there, but they charge a $35 application fee per adult, but if you are married, and only if you are married, it is $45 for the couple. Who are they, the papal police?
