This was our first pool. Water View pools and its owner Cody McFayden responded quickly to our needs. They were the only pool company of four chosen that came to us with a reasonable offer within a short time. Cody, whose name is still on the more widely known ‘Cody Pools’ came to having built more 2,000 pools in the area and reached out to us with a complete design in a very short period of time. He is honest and capable. What we liked most about Cody was that he used top quality materials and never tried to cut back on important things like steel bracing and spacing. He was an expert on gunite, plaster color, coping and tile. We like to think that we picked top quality finish material like tile and deck plates but we always deferred to Cody’s opinion on choices. He also uses the best equipment available, Pentair, which when properly installed does a very fine job.Cody relied heavily on people he knew and trusted to the job and in nearly all cases this turned out to be a big advantage (especially for pouring gunite and plaster). His stone mason, Antonio is an impeccable artist of the first degree and deserves our highest praise. He was meticulous to ‘n’ degree. The only reason for not giving five stars (and we have discussed this with Cody) is that Cody’s operation will benefit from full-time, project management that is fully capable and knowledgeable in resolving issues immediately and efficiently. Cody has hired a person who is now in training to do this.

I cannot recommend Cody strongly enough. We interviewed 3 pool builders, all would have done a good job, but I felt there were things they really did not want to do. I felt it was not in their business plan to review options we felt were important to us. They were open to it, but tried to talk us out of it for one reason or another. I suspect it was to keep “their” costs down.We were looking for a pool builder that would listen to us. We were looking for a geometric shape pool that matched our home. We prefer a classic pool and deck design versus the bean shape with flagstone decking and coping. Most builders wanted to put is in their pool mold. Seemed to be a reason for that, bean shape pools are a bit cheaper to make (less perimeter and less structure needed), and do not need to be built to as exacting dimensions. Hard to hide errors with geometric shaped pools.Of all the builders, Cody listened to us and designed a pool WE love. He did make suggestions, but not because that is what would save “him” money... he designed a pool and made suggestions that complemented our vision.Cody has been at this a while, and I know why... he listens and designs what his customers desire most. But a good design is only part of it. His contractors are top notch, true craftsmen and make it all happen. I was also impressed with extras added in the structure of the pool (more steel). Cody could save a few bucks as the bigger builders do, but why? I appreciate that, and in the end I think our pool is built with more integrity and quality then would have otherwise have been.Continuing with quality, the equipment selected was top notch, even down to the pool kit. Again, most large builders save a few bucks per pool, and when you build so many pools maybe it ads up. But how does that help your pool? Cody would not want cheap stuff in his pool and he builds yours with that in mind. I firmly believe what motivates Cody most, is how his work provides a lifetime of memories for the kids (young and old).Talk to Cody... you deserve to get the pool YOU want!

We had a great experience with Cody with water view pools. I appreciated Codys experience in the industry. I was able to show him pictures of pools I liked online and he made it happen with ease. He has great knowledge about the materials and options. We were able to have a salt water pool built with water view whereas other builders were reluctant to do salt water.Cody is extremely easy to reach, he responds to text messages within seconds usually. He is also very punctual and flexible when meeting to discuss the pool in person. His team is trustworthy and professional.

Cody built us an elegant rectangular travertine pool in the European tradition. He designed a Baja ledge with an umbrella cocktail table for us to relax in the shade. The travertine extends completely out to our outdoor room and pergola. Blue lit at night, the pool is beautiful. During the day, the ledge shows a grey color while the deeper pool is blue.We highly recommend WaterView Pools and Cody’s forty years of pool building expertise.

Hire these folks at your own risk - Cody is not a man of his word. I am the neighbor of a recent residential pool build. Cody looked me in the eye, shook my hand and promised me that my property would be in equal or better condition when his project was finished. This is totally untrue. In order to build my neighbors pool, the builders has to drive their tractor through my back yard (to which I agreed based on empty promises). They removed my fence (and piled it up in MY yard...killing my grass), they drove the tractor through my yard for a week (destroying my grass, digging trenches, breaking sprinkler heads and spot lights, etc) and then proceeded to leave my yard like this for MONTHS after the tractor work was completed.By my request, Cody came out a second time and told me that he would fix everything. This was months ago, and my fence is back in place (but in shambles), my neighbor had to fix my sprinklers and grass and Cody is now suggesting that my neighbor owns all repairs.Codys crews were polite, hard working and skilled. My neighbors pool looks great. But be advised that my neighbor is very unhappy with the mess Cody made of both our yards, landscapes, etc and appears content to leave everything WORSE than he found it. I will spare any reader more details around the oil stains on the street in front of my house, or the mud I had to continually clean up as their workers left our properties, etc, etc. Good luck!

Cody McFadyen and WaterView Pools saved us from our nightmare that was our original pool builder who had taken all our money and left us with a shell of a pool and a list of other issues. WaterView completed our dream pool consisting of a lap lane, jumping rocks, a slide and a spa. They communicated well, answered all our questions promptly, and did what they committed to do. WaterView’s subcontractors are all professional, communicate well, and show up when they say they will. Our biggest regret is that we didn’t hire WaterView from the beginning.

I was reluctant to build a pool after hearing horror stories. Working with Cody and WaterView Pools there were no horror stories at all. He said 6 weeks to complete and it was 6 weeks. Everything he said he would do he did and then some. He was very responsive to calls and emails and answered all my questions. I have a beautiful pool that the entire family is enjoying. I would definitely recommend Cody to friends who want to build a pool. Top notch service and workmanship!

Cody and his crew did a great job on our new pool. Cody is very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of great ideas that made a big difference in how our pool turned out. His crews were on time and worked very hard. They were all very nice as well and listened to changes we wanted made and got them done with a smile. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

It’s been over 365 days and our pool still isn’t finished. We began our pool experience in October 2018. We are still dealing with incomplete work and quality problems. We will state our experiences and just facts. We found Waterview through Angie’s list. They offered a 6% discount. Cody said that discount was in error and had asked Angie’s list to remove it. He only partially honored the discount. As Angie’s list members we still find their coupon posted in magazines and in the website. We met at our house. We described what we wanted in the pool, how deep we wanted it, where we wanted the deep end and how many benches we wanted. When the build started we did not receive what we drew out together. The deep end was put in the middle! One bench wasn’t in the right spot. It had to be corrected. Not once. Twice. The pool plaster was done so poorly they had to redo it 3 times. It is still streaky in some parts. We are told this is normal. We did not have pool school. He didn’t even get our pool properly running as one of our skimmers wasn’t functioning and our chlorinator had no tabs. The equipment was still wrapped in plastic. We were even told to take a water to Leslie’s and figure it out.We did not receive any pool chemicals in a start up kit - no tabs or acid and had to ask to get the pole, scrubber and net. The contract says we were supposed to get a vacuum. We don’t have that. One skimmer basket was damaged and is missing the handle. One trade would damage work from another trade. The plaster company plastered the lights in. They had to fix it. They stained our pool chair and pool decking. The pool auto leveler wasn’t hooked up to the water supply. Then it wasn’t functioning properly. It’s just cheap toilet parts. The lights in the pool were installed incorrectly. Pool was excavated for dome lights but the electrician installed smaller LED lights. Plaster guys were going to plaster in loose lighting fixture until we asked if there should be a fitting installed. They had the wrong sized fittings too. They used a hand saw to retro-fit it. They plastered the incorrectly auto-lever in too.The pool decking looked awful. We have cracks, we’re missing color, they sprayed all over the stairs without cleaning up. For more than 4 months we have asked for help to resolve. Cody said he would ensure it would be fixed and the decking people weren’t calling him back. The decking guy said the pool builder never called. Who is telling the truth? We paid another $900 to find a reputable company to do what they couldn’t after 4 months. Around the exterior of the pool, we had rebar sticking out of the concrete and had thin metal wires poking out. We had wood forms visible on the sides and back of the pool. We had to be told by our pool decking repair company that was wrong and the pool wasn’t finished properly. We had to make Cody get his crew back to fix it. They would not pick up their trash. We had to beg for him for months to pick up their trash. They left a torn up tree on the property for months. We still have chunks of concrete and pool coping around in our land. The pool coping wasn’t secure. It was cracking and we could move it with our hands. That had to be repaired and after many calls they came, removed the coping and re-secured them. Naturally that means the rubber-like grout around the coping is broken and missing and needs to be repaired. More than 2 months later and it’s still not been repaired. We keep calling. We get nowhere.Cody had no project manager, had non-English speaking labor that could not communicate with us and Cody was never onsite to facilitate. Cody never inspected their work. Cody never even checked the pool to ensure it was finished. It’s not that he didn’t come over. He did. He just didn’t do anything but look at plaster or say how nice our house and pool looked. We are over a year on a project that should have been done in 4 months. We still have a repair that needs to be made. For a year, promises have been made and promises broken. We couldn’t be more disappointed.

Waterview Pools completed our beautiful swimming pool in 9 weeks; that was from contract signing to filling the pool with water. The owner of the company, Cody, says the build time may be a record. Cody’s design was excellent and it was followed perfectly during the build. We are very pleased with the pool, and also pleased with the crews that worked on it. The exception is the crew that removed the forms as their cleanup was minimal. We recommend Waterview Pools.

Where do I start? SO many red flags from the beginning. First, no one called the Dig Line. Under law they MUST call this line before digging. The excavators parked a HUGE backhoe (not a Bobcat) in our backyard ready to go balls to the walls on the place without anything marked first! VERY illegal. My power lines do run through the backyard, and no one seemed to care.Additionally, we expressed our concerns about the fact that our water and sewer most likely ran through the backyard. Cody said he never saw a house with water and sewer running through the backyard after all these years. Just by looking at where our water and sewer meter was, it was obvious that it most likely ran back there. We said, regardless, lets do some digging to find out just so that we dont tear through these lines. Also, my husband asked the excavators if they could put some extra plywood down (we even bought it ourselves) to help protect the one portion or our lawn where the irrigation had all the wiring. They refused to. Again, this is before the dig even started. When the foreman showed up to consult with us before the dig (after days of waiting to meet him), and we mentioned our concerns and how there is most likely a water AND sewer line his response was, Its nothing another check cant solve. Im not even joking! Keep in mind, when you sign a contract you ARE NOT liable for any damage that is done underground. This means any lines they may hit or break. They were suppose to start digging the next day, and I made the decision that night to fire them. I simply did not trust them. I told them to get the big loader out and leave. They did.Id also like to note that my husband asked Cody numerous times for a detailed list of all the equipment going in. He wanted the SKUs so that we could research the equipment and make adjustments as needed. We never got that detailed list. This seems like a pretty basic thing to provide your customers from the beginning. We hired another company. They did a pre-dig and come to find out, the water and sewer lines were there! Had Codys team excavated they would ran into both the water and sewer lines. Additionally, the company I hired put down extra dirt and plywood to protect my irrigation lines...and it worked! Even though Codys team insisted it wouldnt help any! Because of this knowledge of the sewer and water lines, we made adjustments to the pool dimensions, but I was more than okay with that, since it saved my sewer and water lines.I will say my interactions with Cody were pleasant. He did make several trips to the permit office and get my address correctly changed, which I appreciated. However, the excavation team caused me headaches and severe anxiety before they even started. To be noted, my review is not based on the actual pool, just the initial consultation with the foreman and excavation team a couple days prior to the dig. I have no idea if they make great pools or not, so I can not judge that.

We contacted Cody to build a pool for us in the fall of 2014, and by Christmas our project was finished. Overall, we are very satisfied with the finished project. The build quality seems excellent, and the design of the pool and deck is just as we had pictured. Cody offered some helpful suggestions about the design including a tanning ledge which is our favorite feature and where we spend the most time. The price overall was not cheap but very fair considering the scope and quality of the work. He even managed to get us a deal on some Luderstone to help manage the cost of the decking. He was present himself at almost all stages of the construction and his team of subcontractors were all very friendly and trustworthy. If there is anything I can be critical of, we had some minor communication mishaps along the way, mostly about scheduling of different subcontractors, but I think those are inherent to any construction project. Now, 6 months after the pool project is complete and paid for, Cody still responds to our requests for help with the pool, and has made good on his guarantee of satisfaction and quality.

We have lived in our home for 18 years and always wanted a pool but had been told it would be tough to put one in our back yard. Finally we decided if we cant build a pool we would move but we also called Waterview and asked them to give us their ideas. They were able to do what no other pool company had. The pool is in the perfect position in our yard and makes the most of the available space. In addition, Waterview added a hot tub and outdoor kitchen that are the perfect complement to the pool and our back deck. The pool fits seamlessly into our back yard and we are extremely happy with the quality and the look. Waterview was able to accomplish what others could not. We highly reccomend them.
