Went today with a sister to get her wig. The people here are very nice and calm. Clean building and welcoming atmosphere.
They really helped my daughter picking out a wig. Victoria knew so much about the process and provided much more helpful information for cancer patients.
Great business that gives out so much good. They help those with cancer but also those just wanting information. There are many programs to benefit everyone. There is even a call center where someone can volunteer to answer the phones to help those with questions.
Horrible trainers. And the nurses are pompous and undermine when they speak. The trainer was racist and discriminatory - she needs to go. Hope that place reassigns their staff.
I met Katie Sweeney, Director of Major Gifts & Corporate Initiatives, and she has been a true source of inspiration. She told me about the CP3 which is the American Cancer Societys third cancer study. They try to research the causes of cancer. I also found out about all the great services they offer. Besides the Relay for Life and other great events that the AMC sponsors, they team up with local businesses to spread awareness. Katie travels all over Texas meeting people and educating. Something I dont think a lot of people realize is the staff and volunteers listen to hundred of stories about people who are undergoing cancer treatment or who know someone who is. Many of us might become down or depressed with this but the staff and volunteers realize that they are an outlet for many people. They take true stewardship with the donations they are given and with the stories they are told. It is truly awe inspiring if you have volunteered with them or gone to one of their events you are missing out.
