I have been here (in the Georgetown area) sinc 2014, and MWS has been an excellent landlord. They are courteous and friendly and are very prompt when I have needed anything done, whether its trimming back the hedge or fixing some issue inside the house. Almost never happens because they had tthe house in excellent condition when I came.

I recently had the displeasure of trying to lease a house managed by One Austin Realty. Matthew Shaw showed signs of unprovoked hostility to myself and my realtor, did not respond in a timely manner, refused to negotiate, and also gave me incorrect phone numbers/extensions to reach my assigned realtor for application submissions and lease discussions, effectively blocking my communication channels to a very time sensitive pending lease negotiation.I am a very qualified tenant whose application and security deposit were both accepted to the property immediately, however after receiving the lease 3 days after I made the security deposit, and asking for the following additions to the lease (as I am a single female living alone and safety is a concern):- keyless deadbolts to be added to exterior doors- fence holes large enough for my dog to escape to be fixed in backyard- locks to be changed (if they hadnt yet from previous tenant)- couple other items that were completely negotiable or already in the leaseI received an email close to end of business (4:15pm) same day claiming I was denied due to a typo Matthew Shaw himself supposedly made on the lease - labelling my dog as 145lbs instead of 45lbs - taking her WAY over the 50lb limit. However upon receiving the rejection email at 4:15pm (Note: there was no attempt to ask where this weight came from or if it was correct and my dog was indeed the size of a fully grown Great Dane) I immediately responded to the email with a photo of my dog and an offer to procure vet records for the past 6 years with her weight. I then also sent another email with the title My Dog Weights Only 45lbs and very politely explained that my dog fits within the 50lb limit and Id like to continue lease negotiations. No response.I also called the office several times before they closed at 5pm that day trying to get through to my realtor who had sent the rejection email. Matthew Shaw answered and told me extension 2 to reach her. After leaving 2 voicemails - one at the main office, and one at the extension #2 I was given, I called it a night.Late next morning (around 10:30 or 11) I still hadnt received a phone call or an email so I sent one more email politely asking the status of the application (at this point I had no idea if I needed to look for another property or not), and tried calling the office again. This time Matthew Shaw answered extension 2 and prompted me to call the leasing extension which was extension 3 instead. After trying #3 and leaving a voicemail, my realtor gave the office a call to check on the status for me.(Note: at this point it has been 20 hours of no response since the email)Upon calling on my behalf to find out the status, my realtor was met with completely unprovoked hostility on the other end of the phone from Matthew Shaw himself.The following day I finally receive the first email communication from them since the typo email asking for the address to send my returned security deposit check.I have honestly no idea what happened or how things got so out of hand, but this experience has been absolutely awful and Id love to save anyone out there from the same headache I was put through.
