I have been seeing Sara Burgess PA-C for a few months now and she is wonderful! Sara is super attentive but still down-to-earth and has helped guide and facilitate my mental health journey in a way that best fits my needs. The front desk staff is exceptional and always makes me feel welcome when I arrive - Davya is very pleasant and positive every time I visit. Highly recommend Roots Behavioral and Ms. Burgess if youre in a place to prioritize your mental health!
I’ve had nothing but great experiences at Roots since I started. Everyone from the front desk ladies to Dr. Serrano. She really listens to my needs and offers great advice that gets me through my days. I’m forever grateful for all the help that I get here.
Two/three years ago this place was amazing. Then they stopped calling me back, telling me my insurance wasnt accepted. I moved away for a bit...and called today to make an appointment but to ensure they take my insurance because last time they just never called me back. She said someone will call soon. Nope. I get a message telling me they refuse to treat me again because I was discharged from their office. Fine. Thanks for the great customer service. 👍
I see Melissa Livingston at RBH and have been so satisfied with my care. After almost 10 years of seeing psychiatrists and trial and error meds, Melissa takes the time to listen to me and collaborate with me on what will work best. They’ve updated their communication portal and phone issues i had with them at the beginning and can tell they really care about their patients.
I really liked this place at first but it has really gone downhill since the pandemic started. Earlier this week they denied me an appointment without prior warning (literally 5 minutes before the appointment) because I was unable to pay my entire balance off. Then today they denied my prescription refills saying I need an appointment. I attempted to call to clear up the matter but no one picks up the phone at either location no matter what option you choose. They just respond with a text saying they will call you back but they never do. I guess I can understand why they needed my $200 so badly - they have got to be losing business with service like this.
My experience at Roots especially with KAP therapy has changed my life. I rarely have the privilege of saying that, but I cant say enough good things about KAP specifically. There is some merit to the negative reviews in that the general scheduling can be a hassle and I havent had the best experience with some of the other therapists, but they are constantly evolving and listening to feedback on patient communication. I absolutely recommend trying out KAP Therapy if it makes sense for you and also exploring their different options. The front staff will greet you with a warm smile (LOVE V and Scott) and Stephanie, the billing manager, is a gem as well!
Such a kind and helpful staff.I have been coming to this location for 4 years now and i cant see myself going anywhere else.
I am not a patient with RBH. I am writing this review because my roommate, who is a patient with RBH is sitting in his room crying having a mental health crisis because of RBH. For almost two weeks he has been trying to get his antidepressant filled. He could not, and still cant, get through to the office due to their epic phone problems. I would like like to point out that they have had these phone problems for quite some time and seem to be in no hurry to fix it. When trying to communicate to RBH through their patient portal, he would just get a reply that the prescription had been sent over when it obviously had not. He finally called a different RBH office to get the situation fixed. Being a mental health provider, you would think RBH would know that the abrupt stoppage of the medication my roommate is on leads to discontinuation syndrome which can mean anxiety, agitation, insomnia, irritability, hallucinations, and a wide variety of other adverse effects. Since his medications ran out, my roommate has been suffering from these symptoms. After two weeks of struggling with RBH to get his meds, yes, my roommate got short with RBH in his messaging. What do you expect when the provider he trusted with his care acted so nonchalantly about his health. Lauren, the office manager, instead of being understanding of his condition sent him an admonishment. Now, hes breaking down thinking that he is a horrible person. So help me God, if something happens to him because of this incident, there will be one hell of a malpractice lawsuit. In response to your reply: The only contact my roommate has had from you since the message that you were no longer going to see him and would send him referrals to other providers (which he has yet to receive) is a newsletter email that you were horrified to find out that your phones werent working. Perhaps you tried to reach him by sending a message through the patient portal. It would have been impossible for him to respond since you cut off his access to the portal after you told him you would no longer see him. Did you try to call him? We know no one can call in to reach you on your phone lines. Maybe you cant call out.
I really appreciate Roots Behavioral and my caregiver, Ms. Melissa Livingston who offers suggestions for a more natural approach to keeping my body and mind healthy while taking medication. Ms. Livingston is very thorough and attentive. I have received exceptional care from Roots Staff and Ms. Livingston so far and am very happy. Every person I encounter at Roots is absolutely wonderful. They have really helped me to soon not need them or the medication anymore. They have shown me they really care about helping me help myself to get better. Highly recommend.
I have been very pleased with KAP so far. I like Savanna my KAP therapist. I look forward to more visits and continued recovery.
I dont write reviews. This time I feel compelled to do it. It has been years I am under Miss Brooks care. It has been a pleasant experience. She is not only caring, but she is knowledgeable. V is an excellent communicator. She has gone up and above her duties every time I have a question or an issue with my meds. Thank you to all of the staff for staying on the frontline in spite of the CIOVID- My respect to all of you
I use to give Root behavioral 5 stars now it’s a 1 star - when I started seeing Dr Turnipseed because my therapist recommended him. I started seeing Turnipseed before he open up root behavioral health. Since I moved from Massachusetts it took me a long time to find a psychiatrist that actually help get my anxiety better under control he was the first Psychiatrist that instead keeping me on the same medication I been in for years suggested to change my medication all over for the first time I. A long time my anxiety is a lot more under control and he is the first psychiatrist I have met in Texas that understood why I take Xanax on a as needed bases he didn’t try to cut me off. However my rate is changing from 5 to a 1 because Just recently Dr. Turnipseed decided he is no longer seeing patient and he gave me the impression that it would be temporary pause on not seeing patients. So, he suggested to see a PA and I only said yes to seeing her because it was temporary. Come to find out he definitely no longer seeing patients. I travel from Taylor Tx to see Dr. Turnipseed and at one point my insurances no longer covered him so I paid out of pocket because that how much I liked working with him. I feel like he ditch his patients especially those who followed him before he moved to open roots behavioral health.Well after a few sessions with the PA he recommended I felt like theand express it to my therapist she recommended a different PA but in order to switch I was required to talk to the ression that this switch was temporary. Also I am really disappointed Dr. Turnipseed no longer seeing patients I feel like basically ditch he basically ditched his patient. I was a patient who drove all the way from Round Rock and now that I move I travel from Taylor tx to see him and at one point my insurance won’t cover Turnipseed so I continued to see him because how great of a Psychiatrist he is.After having a few sessions with the PA that was recommended to me I decided just don’t like her and she is not Dr. Turnipseed. So I spoke to my therapist about this and she recommended a different PA. In order to switch you have to talk to the manger and basically they discuss as a group if it’s okay for me to switch. In the end they said no well It’s not right don’t let a patient make the decision to switch to a different Pa especially if you don’t like the person or not connecting you should approve the patient request I think it’s wrong that root behavioral won’t approve a patients request. As of now i am no longer a patient and I will be looking for a new psychiatrist again.
Im shocked at the ratings Roots Behavioral Health is receiving here. They are by far the BEST at what they do in my opinion....I have been Dr. Turnipseeds patient at Roots Behavioral Health for a number of years now and hes remarkable. I literally witnessed this office blow up in size & expand over time to something impressive. When I 1st started seeing Dr. Turnipseed he had a nice little office by Seton Main. Roots Behavioral Health was flourishing & in need of an office that they could continuously expand, so he moved to a very nice building on South IH-35 near Oltorf. Im guessing it has been a few years at this location now & the office itself has developed so much. Hes always investing in his business by adding staff, office space, & new procedures. He stays up-to-date with Mental Health & is often the 1st of his kind to offer new cutting edge treatments in the Austin area. His office was the 1st & possibly only to offer state-of-the-art Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in the Austin area.He has added new staff in all areas of expertise. Theyve also added a 2nd location at Lost Creek. This is literally a one stop shop..I prefer to stay with same Dr. so Ive continued to see Dr. Turnipseed as my only provider. I messed up, I cancelled an appointment & forgot to reschedule so I was in need of a new one ASAP. Roots was able to get me on the schedule the next day with a Physician Assistant.Im grateful for the last minute add on & looking forward to meeting more of his staff. Id be lying if I said I dont have Anxiety about seeing someone else though...Well, I had the pleasure of meeting one of his Physician Assistants, Lauren Feierstein LO & I was impressed ...She was so welcoming & sympathetic, a breath of fresh air.. It made for another enjoyable visit. Im looking forward to visiting with LO again next month for a follow-up. Im still not ready to give up my Doc that Ive been with for so long, but it sure is nice to know his staff is as incredible as he is & I have the option to see LO if I wish..No ifs ands or buts about it, theyve won me over & Ill be sticking with them...**I hope this review is helpful to many...Give Roots Behavioral Health a chance, you wont be disappointed.**
The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I could not have finished law school, and taken the bar exam without their help. I look forward to my appointments with Sara Burgess and hope to keep her as my provider for as long as I can!
I live in San Antonio but after no success with several doctors here, I decided on Roots and the hour drive was totally worth it. The staff is very polite and friendly. My psychologist listened attentively and was understanding. Talking with her felt natural. Lastly, the psychiatrist is probably the best I’ve seen out of half a dozen. He was extremely friendly and had an extremely good attitude. Instead of writing prescriptions while barley interacting with you, he took my opinions and thoughts about what I wanted into consideration when coming up with my new medication regime. Amazing service!
Ive been a patient at Roots Behavioral Health for the past two years. Ive received nothing but compassionate care. The two providers Ive had in my time with this office have shown that they truly care about their patients. Ive never felt like I was being judged, as I have experienced multiple times in the past by other behavioral health clinicians. My providers have been open-minded, trusting, and understanding about all of my mental health struggles. This is the first place that Ive felt like I was being treated as a human being. (PTSD, Severe Recurrent Major Depression, and Anxiety disorders). They are very open to various treatment options and Ive always felt like I was in good hands here. I highly recommend Roots. Hands down the best individualized treatment in Austin.
Traumatizing experience with Roots Behavioral Health. My mental health is worse off for having dealt with this group. Please seek treatment elsewhere for your own good! Read all of the other reviews elsewhere, I wish I had.Even receiving a response to this review from their office was triggering. Roots Behavioral Health is not a safe space, this facility is dangerous, unresponsive and not sorry for their actions but for receiving the bad review.
I like the therapists and the front desk is generally helpful. The people in the office are condescending and rude however, making the experience poor.
I was overcharged for my appointment by a significant amount (more than 3x what I should have paid) and have been trying to get my refund for weeks now and they have done nothing. I have tried calling the office daily and, more often than not, their voicemail box is full. When I have been able to leave a voicemail, it has never once been returned. The few times I have been able to speak to a real person, they have assured me their billing dept will handle it and promise me that someone will call me back to confirm the refund-- nothing has been done and have still yet to receive any call. I have never before experienced such unprofessional and horrible communication with a healthcare provider. I will now have to handle this with my credit card company since they will clearly not be helping me with my refund.
Im really very satisfied with the care I’ve received at Roots. I was extremely unhappy with my psych a couple months ago and a friend suggested I try Roots Behavioral. I’m so glad I did. I genuinely feel like the doctor listens to me and I feel like she has a vested interest in my well being. Even through the oft frustrating process of medication trial and error and finding a solution that works for me, I haven’t felt alone or distanced at all. I highly recommend Roots to anyone that’s not pleased with their current psych/provider.
Going to this clinic usually results from having to to a psychiatrist which takes your insurance. However, after all the flashy things which make it feel modern nice, you realize that you have become a part of their scheme. $220 for a 20 minute session which they charge your insurance. They assign you a fresh out of school PA which pays no regard to you. You are simply a number to them, more people in, the more money they get so they cram their schedule. Something happens. Out of luck you need to wait a month. That month comes and you remember that your PA doesnt but assign you drugs and disregards your concerns. The worst part is if you advocate for yourself youll be told to seek a second opinion aside from the clinic. This place is garbage. Might as well go to a cash psychiatrist, this is a typical insurance taking clinic. They dont care, its just a job to them.
If I could give them a negative 5 I would! I was in desperate need of their services three weeks ago. They put me on hold thee times - which lasted over 15 minutes, I even went online to get someone to contact me and they never did until today. Im thankful Blue Cross Blue Shield told me to contact Greater Austin Psychiatry instead. Greater Austin was able to see me immediately and they did not put me on hold and they answered all my questions.
I have been a patient for a number of years. Mrs. Dawson is excellent and takes a vested interest in getting you to a healthier mental state. Front staff are as nice and accommodating as they come. Clean office and plenty of parking.Behavorial Roots is the longest time Ive spent with one provider. Took me four decades to get to that point.Thats how good they are.
I love Roots! I recommend it to my friends all the time. Having a place that actually cares for its patients and approaches psychiatry from a wholistic perspective is so refreshing!
If I wasnt required to give at least one star there would be no rating at all. I have been a patient at Roots for a while. When I first became a patient at the practice everything was going smoothly until the problems started to set in.When you first sign your paperwork they tell you that you have 24 hours to cancel your appointment. Seeing that they said verbatim 24 HOURS youd think theyd stick to that policy. Well folks, dont hold your breath because they tack on fees then deflect it all on you as if you did something wrong.I travel a lot for work and sometimes have to cancel if my flights are delayed or if my trips get extended. I always made sure to cancel more than 24 hours in advance minimum.Well I go in for an appointment recently and the front desk workers check me in and proceed to notify me of an outstanding balance of over $500 in No Show fees. How in the god awful world do I have any sort of debt to this practice when I followed their rules? I had to speak with my PA immediately and their office manager to get this resolved. Before talking to Lauren the O.M. the workers wouldnt even try to help me out with it. Now they have said to cancel within at least 48 HOURS moving forward. Oddly enough, I still have the documented paperwork that says 24 hr cancellation notice. The turnover rate for PAs is extremely high here. In the last thirteen months Ive had three different PAs. Two left without saying anything to their clients. I found out my previous PA was leaving while out of the country.... no phone call just a lousy automated email. The only upside to this practice is that they will listen to you when it comes to medication regulation journey. Other than that pass on this practice and go elsewhere. Find a practice that cares about their patients instead of taking your money for a 5-15 minute conversation with your PA then youre out the door.**People without insurance especially take my advice to heart! Dont waste your money and find a better practice! If Im insured and I’m telling you I feel screwed over I can only imagine how it feels to be uninsured giving this company your money.**
I feel truly blessed to have found this place. I never really write reviews because I never want to discuss or promote anything I dont have confidence in. I can honestly say that Ive had nothing but positive experiences with all the staff and providers, which is a rare thing to be able to say when seeking any kind of services. I have felt valued, respected and treated as an individual which is also nearly impossible to find these days, especially with therapeutic services. I really would recommend this place to anyone seeking any sort of mental health treatment and I dont say that lightly or without strong conviction. They are true quality individuals that provide services that can help people in a lot of different areas.
Underwhelming services. Went there three times ($600 uninsured). I was hoping to objectively discuss some major medical issues, family turmoil, etc but the only input the Dr. had was the word Yeah in various tones. Imagine spilling your heart for the first time and all the professional has to say is Yeah repeatedly.I came thoroughly prepared every time. Had followup thoughts on the last appointment, new subjects, and things I wanted to focus on. It seemed like I controlled the room, conversation, and worked for the Drs focus.Lack of attention/memory/participation during sessions will never instill confidence in your patients and subsequently make them seek treatment elsewhere.
Roots Behavioral Health is committed to helping their clients. I always feel I receive quality care. They utilize up-to-date technology and diagnostic methods. Through their patient portal, I can ask Dr. Turnipseed a question and know that he will respond soon. I have piece of mind knowing I have him on my team!I highly recommend this behavioral health center. Dont wait. Get the help you need, This is the place to get it.
After doing a lot of research for a mental health clinic that works well for my needs, I am incredibly grateful to have discovered this place. Doctors and staff are so empathetic and you can really feel how they care about their clients. I even look forward to my appointments because of how cozy their office is.
I absolutely love this practice. I never have to wait more than a couple minutes to be seen. I find Dr Turnipseed a very proactive and responsive provider.
If you want to be proactive and collaborative in your own healthcare, roots is not the place for you. If you have questions or like to research drugs before you take them, roots is not the place for you. If you advocate for yourself to insure you are receiving the best care for you and expect your questions or concerns to be received with reasonable care and explanation, then roots is not the place for you. If you expect the people in whom youve entrusted your mental health care to follow through on the most basic agreements, roots is not the place for you. If you want a truly supportive and caring place or at least a place that will do no harm, then roots is most definitely not the place for you. If, however, you want to be drugged to oblivion and back, want to be shamed whenever you have questions or disagree with what theyre offering you, want to be rushed into making decisions before youre ready, want to be prescribed drugs which are clinically proven to have a high risk of being harmful or outright dangerous for your particular diagnosis, then by all means, roots is the place for you. These people need to refresh themselves on the hippocratic oath. First, do no harm. They are literally messing with peoples minds and doing so in a very cold and uncaring way that poses substantial risk and potentially serious harm to all who would enter. Beware!
Ive been a patient at Roots for just over a year, primarily receiving ketamine treatments. When I started, I found the office staff friendly and capable, the doctors knowledgeable and compassionate, and the ketamine itself was life-saving. Things have changed. The office staff is constantly changing. My PA quit. Its much harder to get in when I need to. They changed portals and didnt even properly notify their patients. Also, their late policy: if you are more than 5 MINUTES late they will turn you away and charge a $300 RESCHEDULING FEE. Let that sink in. If traffic is bad you are out $300. Im giving two stars instead of 1 because there are still some good PAs, and I dont know of any other place in the Austin area where so much of the ketamine injection is covered by insurance. And the lozenges you can do at home have helped me stay stable. I just wish this clinic would treat their patients with more general understanding and humanity.Edit: in response to the reply from Roots, I want to clarify that they changed the late policy without notice to me. There previously had been more leeway, at least in practice for sure. I drive from Georgetown, have to arrange childcare, etc. I know the drive and build in extra time for bad traffic. One day there was a car accident so even with my extra time built in I arrived exactly 5 minutes late. Waited at the desk another 2 minutes before someone would check me in, and then they sprung the new late policy on me and turned me away from the care I needed. Completely unprofessional and uncompassionate.
If you want to pay a psychiatrists fee to be seen by a physicians assistant, this is the place for you. Apparently Dr. Turnipseed is too busy working on his golf game to actually see the vast majority of his supposed patients; instead, expect 20 min chats with a PA. Not even joking when I say I saw him a total of two times over the course of a year and a half, even though the insurance company was paying the practice well over $250 an hour. Im not sure if what theyre doing is legal, but it doesnt seem ethical to me. Many times hes been listed as my doctor on official forms, but, again, Ive seen him twice, once for a total of 5 minutes, and the other not even that.
Great place friendly staff, excellent quality care, tried this place bout a week ago, after having some negative side effects from the medication I was prescribed I contacted my provider ms.serrano via the patient portal and she immediately responded back and sent a new medication to my pharmacy, great place and quick service to any and all inquiries.
Almost impossible to reach by phone.Update: Have had better luck lately reaching by phone. Nice providers. Their no show policy does seem to be a tad strict, though.
Excellent patient care. Dr. Turnipseed is fantastic and puts great effort into addressing patient health concerns. Hes also always on time, which is a huge plus. The office staff are excellent, too, as theyre always responsive. Dr. Turnipseed also very promptly responds to messages sent through the patient messaging system.
I have enjoyed a relationship with RBH many years. They are a highly professional, knowledgeable and caring health care provider. Very easy to communicate via the customer portal.
Courteous office staff and kind, attentive medical professionals. Ive been getting my medications managed here since 2016 and Im very happy with the service I receive.
Dr. Turnipseed is the best! He has helped me immensely in getting my life to look the way I want it to. Incredibly grateful.
I cant say enough good things about Roots Behavioral (RB). Ive been in and out of therapy most of my adulthood and it wasnt until I started seeing the professional at RB did I finally start to feel better. If youre looking for a place, this is the place.
I have been with Dr. Turnipseed for over 10 years and I could not be happier. He has always listened to me and been extremely patient. I had been through several doctors before him and was so pleased when I found him. He referred me to Andrea Turnipseed and after going through MANY therapists, she is the only one I have stuck with. They are both amazing and they have a great staff to support them. I HIGHLY recommend Roots Behavioral Health!!
I took a dear friend to see Dr.T 2 years ago, and have watched a beautifultransformation. Here depression, and social anxiety is improving. She is starting to trust again. Thank you Dr. T!
Im such a fan of Dr. Brent Turnipseed that Ive followed him as hes moved over the years. He asks great questions, is thorough and you walk away feeling heard and with perspective you didnt have when you first walked in.
Exercise Caution; While I was scheduling an appointment with the provider I made it perfectly clear what my criteria was so I could see someone there fitting those needs. Very early in the session it was discovered there was an error, and I should have never been scheduled with that person. Shortly after, a manager was summoned to assist. He apologized for the error and was very polite. After a few weeks, had gone by, I discovered they had still charged me, even though the session ended prematurely. So, I called them and explained from start to finish what had transpired. The response I received was that their documentation showed simply that I was seen by a doctor and there was nothing they would do for me.
I am a big fan of Dr. Turnipseed. He makes me feel heard and is open to any questions I have. The office staff is always nice and helpful I would recommend Dr. Turnipseed to anyone!
Ive been seeing Dr Brent Turnipseed for about two years now. I chose him initially because I read that he has a lot of experience with some of my primary issues (severe ADHD, bipolar, OCD, anxiety) and he takes my insurance, and it was an excellent decision. He has an easy manner, explains his reasoning and my options clearly, respects my experiences & knowledge, and (vital for me) is LGBT+ friendly. I like having this guy as my psychiatrist so much that even after moving to Houston Ive remained his patient: a great doctor is worth the drive. The front-of-house staff are always wonderful also.
This place is a joke doctor turnipseed has been seeing for years and been prescribing me My medications for years and then all of sudden just Told me that they could not take me anymore and Im trying to get my prescriptions and all they say is they cant take me anymore how did somebody do that after years of being with a doctor. They are supposed to be helping with our mental illness but to do this is killing us without any prior warning now you have a mental unstable guy without his meds to throw us away that easy is unbelievable especially after telling my life to a dr for over 4 years this is how they treat you. Its all about money and faking they care. I will now not see any other drs because of Brent Turnapseed thanks man for doing that to me take all my secrets act like you cared to just stop seeing me and you couldnt even tell me you had the ladies up front do that. Never have I ever felt so betrayed and by a DR is the worse betrayal. So this is after your damage control post. Lets get one thing understood so everybody that is reading these reviews understands the situation at full. Ive been using this doctor for years I have always been able to get on the online portal without a problem To request my prescription of my refills. So one month I going to my online portal and I could not access to online portal at this point I became a little frustrating as I was trying to do what Ive been doing for the past 4 years. At no time did my doctor nor the office of the roots behavioral front office let me know beforehand that the online portal was changing. The day that I called was more to 19th my prescription was due on March 17th At this time I spent 2 days not hours trying to get onto the online portal. After not being able it became very frustrated because the girls upfront refused to help me figure something out to get my prescription done. And yes I am guilty by saying this was BS over the phone and I need in medicine that was only after 50 some hours of trying to access your new online portal thru the online or over the phone, but i lept getting told no we cant do anything for you. So big office manager if you think i should not be seen because i said this is BS then im sorry i have never even looked at anyone sideways always paid and always was nice and to ne treated like yall did me that was very uncalled for and unprofessional. And if you look at your reviews im not the only person that this happend to.
Roots Behavioral Health is a lifesaver. I feel so lucky to have found this practice. The mixture of therapy from Andrea Turnipseed and medication relief from Brent Turnipseed has truly changed my life. I am able to focus at work again, do daily activities as if they are normal activities again, and just enjoy life to its fullest. Brent actually listens to what is going on with you and your needs before just throwing medication at you. He trys things out and changes things out as necessary to find the right treatment. I will stay here for as long as they let me :)
I have been a patient of Dr. Turnipseed and Courtney Bourlon for a little over a year now. They are always very friendly and professional. The staff in the reception area takes care of things quickly whenever I have needed them, and the patient portal for messaging is so convenient. I consider myself lucky to have found this office, and have nothing but good things to say about them.
Very experienced doctors & counselors - very organized staff and pleasant practice environment! I love my doctor and Roots in general.
First they take me off their portal, then Lauren, their snobby office manager refuses to let me leave a message to have my scrip refilled. Instead they want me to go thru establishing a brand new online account when I am at work, in a secured web environment, by accessing a link thru my private e mail, as if I have nothing else to do. This is not about patient care, it is about following the HMOs rules. Wouldnt even let me leave a message or refill when they changed the Web portal. Didnt send any notices about change, didnt give me any time to get new account set up on their new ststem, were not willing to call pharmacy when they were the ones that caused the delay by changing their software, just had to have me do it right then n there in middle of busy work day because the HMO has made new rules and requires it. They could care less about scrip refill or patient care for that matter, and provide awful service at front, many times putting me on hold for several minutes. Hippa does not require the practice to kick people off their portal and require a new registration process, this is the HMO that has made this decision, all on their own. I have gotten on their portal sent e mail requesting refill to no avail. Lauren did in fact refuse to let me leave a message for my doctor and did make this all about the HMO, and I doubt the company is sorry for this as they have still not made contact or done anything except the cryptic response about how I need to get on their portal just right and refill all their forms before they can grant my request. The response below is a complete lie and smoke and mirror act over hippa. They kicked me out of their practice over this review and even ignored my request when I got on their portal and asked. Then they kicked me of the new portal and mailed me a letter to tell me I was out.
Do these people even care about mental health of potential patients? I had to schedule months in advance and am told THE DAY BEFORE my appointment that they wont accept me. At a time when my mental health is at the lowest, it is almost as if they want a final kick in the face. Now I have to wait months to try to schedule somewhere else. Thanks, Roots Behavioral Health, you guys really seem like you care.
I am so so grateful for Dr. Turnipseed, his PA’s, and the office staff at Roots. I started taking ketamine about four months ago, prescribed by Dr. Turnipseed. It’s prepared as a lozenge and I take it three times a week at home. Although the road has not been easy, I’ve experienced promising results that keep me hopeful I can have longer periods of time without symptoms, and possibly come off of my others meds completely. I have less call outs at work, despite numerous stressors that in the past would have prompted me to have to use FMLA. I am able to do deeper work in therapy without being totally derailed. I engage less with my eating behaviors. Dr. T is always very receptive and responsive when I reach out. I only wish I found him sooner. This is how behavioral health should be.
Dont waste your time or money, i walked out after less than 5 minutes. never, ever, ever again will i give them my hard earned money or a second thought
Good experience. A humane and personalized approach to the commitment of better living.
I have been seeing Dr. Turnipseed for over two and half years with respect to my MHMR treatment. I still remember our first visit. I was a mess to say the least. Dr. Turnipseed has worked diligently to help me recover. Whatever the circumstance concerning the need to seek his offices services, I can assure Dr Turnipseed and his colleagues are educated professionals that you can trust. Dr Turnipseed has absolutely earned my trust. I have transferred to a University in California and currently fly to Austin for my visits because TRUST & QUALITY is something I will NOT compromise, especially regarding my health. Thanks =)
The staff are very accommodating and professional!
