I see Kendall who is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She is patient, funny, kind, and informed! I highly recommend seeing her if you are considering medication or diagnosis for a psychiatric condition.I have only been to the office a few times toward the beginning of C19, but it was calming and clean, and the receptionist was super nice and helpful.

I love Dr. Maa and have had a great experience when Ive been seen here, however its impossible to reach the office by phone because no matter what button you push, the automated call just sends you to other automated calls. Ive even had pharmacists confirm theres no way to actually speak to someone when you call the number. I have needed to speak with someone because my prescription for Vyvanse never got doctor approval but my only option at this point is to go into the office myself. Admittedly Ive waited far too long to do this, but because of my work situation the only time Im available to do this is on weekends when they are closed. It feels redundant to schedule a whole separate appointment just to remind the doctor that he needs to sign off on a prescription he sent himself. Since I havent had the medication I cant exactly talk to him about any side effects or how its workingEDIT, 9/7/21:I scheduled an appointment for 11am today. Looked everywhere in the confirmation to make sure it wasnt telemed and as far as I could tell it was an in person appointment. I got to the office at 10:40 and the door was locked. I waited until 11, still locked. Lights off inside. I knocked at least 3 times, no answer. Of course I called and theres no way to speak to a person. Nowhere on the client portal does it allow you to send a message to the practice. I received multiple confirmations for this appointment only to show up to an empty practice. I was never sent a telemedicine link and there is none on the client portal. Theres no note on the door stating that theyll be back later, just a locked door. On the client portal my appointment has been marked as in progress, and Im standing by myself outside the practice. My appointment will now be marked as a no show and I will be charged $50. Please also keep in mind that I paid $100 just to be taken on by this practice, and now that they refuse to communicate with patients or apparently open the office when theyre actively scheduling in-person appointments I have to find a new provider. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will reiterate that I really enjoyed Dr. Maa as a provider and Im very saddened that I wont be able to continue seeing him since the office he works in has made it pretty much impossible. To respond to the explanation I got from the practice on my previous review, I understand that you dont respond to fax refill requests. If you had read my initial review youd know that wasnt the problem. The problem was that I was sent away with a brand new prescription that needed doctor verification, the doctor never verified, I was never able to fill the prescription, and there was no way to contact the office to get that settled. There seems to be no communication or coordination whatsoever in this practice. I, like many of your patients, rely on psychiatric care to go about my daily life and you are deliberately making it impossible to receive that care. My only method of being able to contact you is THROUGH GOOGLE REVIEWS. How on Earth is that okay? If you have the time to respond to reviews surely you have time to actually answer phone calls or, I dont know, be OPEN at the time of appointments you confirm and sign off on.

Jaime might be late sometimes but its because she wants her clients to get their moneys worth and hears us out to the full extent, she cant help that people are late sometimes. Not only does she take the time to listen to her clients but she makes sure to get to know them, she allows you to have some autonomy over your treatment, something of which I had never experienced from a mental health care provider prior to seeing her. I would rather have a therapist who cares to listen and provide genuine, therapeutic care than one who wants to get me out the door so they can get their next client out of the way. I will always take high quality care and therapy over the quantity of time (barely any) that you might have to wait to be seen. Some people should maybe seek help for learning patience, it is after all, a virtue.

***UPDATEUnfortunately, she showed her true colors once she had to do actual work.Jaime Nelson is unprofessional, rude, and lazy. She is consistently 10-15 minutes late to EVERY SINGLE appointment and of course, doesnt even apologize. She even has a little joke- Ill be late - as usual on her chat. She refuses to help and instead blames the patient. She also made it a point to remind me during an appointment that I am on a sliding scale ($100). I am still confused as to why she brought it up. Since I pay $100 then she doesnt have to do her job? Save yourself some grief and look elsewhere.

My spouse is a client of Jaimes, transferred over from before she parted ways with Austin Family Mental Health. My spouse has had 2 appointments with Jaime since then. The first time, she asked us to wait while she accommodated a client who showed up after missing their appointment. The second time, today, Jaime missed an appointment over teleconference. She left my spouse waiting until half an hour after the appointment time. My spouse reached out via email, concerned at Jaimes failure to show. My spouse was asked to reschedule at that time by the receptionist. Ms Nelson has made it clear over our experiences with her that she does not value the time of her clients. 1 out of 5 strongly advise against utilizing her services.

Jaime Nelson is not a professional by any standard. She is rude both over email and on virtual appointments. She doesnt like being emailed for any question or refill, and will let you know about it. Unless you like a snarky psychiatrist with attitude I would look elsewhere!
