We have nothing but good things to say about working with Austin Native Landscaping. They were completely transparent with their pricing, provided plenty of options for us, made edits to the plans when we requested, and were even able to accommodate some last second changes in the middle of the project. They finished all of the work a day earlier than they originally quoted, as well, which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend Reed and his team for your landscape needs.

Austin Native Landscaping are a fantastic company with a professional approach from start of the process to the finish. The initial home visit, to hear our ideas and assess our needs, was followed by a professional graphic design and a detailed accurate estimate. Reed helped form our concept into a design and answered questions throughout the process. He provided us an estimated start date and then hit that date exactly! His crews are courteous, conscientious and professional. Their efforts turned our entire yard, complete with an extended patio/living area, into a beautiful and healthy finished product! We are extremely happy with these guys led by Reed, Jason, Andrew, Mike and Jose. We love our new yard and can’t possibly make a higher recommendation.

I can’t say enough good things about Austin Native Landscaping. Reed and his team were super communicative and transparent from the start about pricing and timing. Reed was flexible with me in going back and forth on a plan to get something that would work well for us and offered some great design suggestions that I hadn’t considered. The team that worked on the yard went really fast and they were all nice guys. Best of all, our yard is beautiful!!

I cant recommend Reed and his team enough. He designed the landscape for our front and side yard based on input we had for colorful, native plants, pavers, and boulders. His team also installed smart irrigation and lighting and walked us through how to use it. The entire experience was smooth from the beginning. Reed is extremely knowledgeable about Central Texas plants, so he took the time to really listen to our input and give advice about what would look great and thrive in our yard. His team executed the design perfectly and to top it off, they were all super friendly. A few of them even helped me with socializing my new puppy when they were working in the front yard. One more thing we were so impressed with was that one of his team members came back to the house a few weeks after the project was completed to check in on us and we noticed he cleaned up some branches that had fallen from one of our trees on his way out. Stop researching and pick these guys for your next landscape project!

Reed and his team were great! We had a complete backyard remodel, including pool, deck, and landscaping; with Reed being the last project element. We had several delays in the pool construction but Reed worked with our schedule and came in at just the right time and had a pretty big project knocked out within a week. He also easily worked with us as we made some changes/additions, making it easy to see the itemization breakdown of everything. In the end we very satisfied with the outcome and the yard looks great. Id highly recommend Reed and his team!

This is not a review on their work, rather this is on the response to my request for a bid. By other comments they are very good at what they do, but be prepared to pay high dollar. I do have a fairly large project and started the process of discovery, calling companies to bid the job. The email I received from ANL is what made me question them, here is a bit of the email: Please note that most of our projects are typically budgeted anywhere between 14k and 70k depending on scope, square footage, trees, size of plants, stone work, metal edging versus stone, etc. The min budget we will work with is 14k. I really dont know how the quality of their work is, but the response in itself was not well received by me, might be fine for others. I can only assume that maybe they cannot afford to do smaller jobs, or they couldnt be bothered with a smaller job, or Im not worth their time, or we are so busy we dont need your job. This is the message I got from the email so I didnt bother to email him back. This review is just to let you know right up front to not bother with them unless you are prepared to dish out 14k minimum for your project and wait a long time to get the work started. Lots of landscaping going on in Austin since the winter storm reeked havoc, my job isnt a result of the storm, but to reiterate just how busy landscapers are right now. Either way, my personal preference is to hire someone who understands the situation, appreciates the opportunity, good at what they do and mutually we come to an agreement on costs and project time.

We had a wonderful experience with Austin Native Landscaping! Reed and his team were very professional, responsive and willing to work with us to get where we needed to be budget-wise. Reed was able to meet with us, take measurements and provide our itemized quote within days. From there, we made a couple of tweaks on design/budget, then made the decision to sign the contract and get started. We had a couple of delays due to rainy weather, but as soon as the sun shone, the team got to work on our project, which was done fast but with care and precision. We had concrete poured in addition to the xeriscape design, and Barry and his guys did a great job, getting the look we wanted with scoring the concrete. For the xeriscape, Reed made great recommendations for the types of rocks/plants and we could not be happier with how everything turned out. Definitely work with this company!

We have lived on our home for 20 years and needless to say our landscape has deteriorated over the years. It was time to get the outside of our home renovated. After receiving and reviewing my standard 3 designs and bids, we decided to go with Austin Native Landscaping. ANL came out to our home twice to listen to our needs and ideas and offered a few of their own. Their design was creative, beautiful and the most reasonable. We are so happy with the results. ANL offered excellent service, quality materials, they exhibited absolute care, pride and quality in their work. They cleaned up beautifully. They truly care about their work, after all it is art. They are artists. If its time for you to consider landscape work, do not hesitate to give them a shot. It will be worth your while. They know what they are doing. In addition, we added lights in our pool area. It is amazing! Did I mention we are so happy with their work?

Recently, Austin Native Landscaping installed a beautiful landscape and fence in my front yard. I was pleased from the start of the entire process.I had them come out and quote for a precious house and decided not to do anything with anyone. They did a few drafts for me and were very kind when I said I decided to not do anything. Then I bought this new home and they came out and provided a design which I changed only 3 times.Once we decided on a plan we signed a contract and scheduled the install. I have very unfortunate luck, however, this was an exception. They were on time, joyful, approachable, and considerate of my concerns/ideas. All together they were amazing. They also created a little nerf shooting bling for my boys to play in the backyard They transformed my front yard and I cannot be happier! I have attached some photos for your viewing pleasure.

Above and Beyond on so many levels: Communication, Ethics, Design/Planning, Pricing, Crew and Speed of Work.Reed and his crew are some of the most hard-working and sharp guys I have met. I got 3 bids on xeriscaping the front of my house and not only was Reeds quote the best but it also had the most design structure to it. When I initially reached out to him, he came back with 3 options for an initial meeting date/time and I had the first design back in only a few days. We made minimal changes but he sent me an updated plan each and every time.He has an amazing talent and knowledge for landscape design and his crew are some of the fastest working while attentive to detail I have seen (and I worked for a landscape company in Chicago over 10 years)! Every morning of the project, Reed would check-in with me on what they were going to do, time line of the overall job, any questions or changes I wanted and he would walk my property with me as we went over this to make sure that I was good and that we were on the same page -and he did the exact same at the end of every day. When I read prior reviews I kept thinking, they cant really be THAT nice and the designs THAT amazing -but they genuinely are, to the point that I bought them all breakfast on the last day of the project to thank them for not only finishing a day early but for how hard I saw them working each day (I work from home). The topper to all of this was that after they had cleaned up and finished on the final day, I had a request to make some last adjustments to one area of edging - which Reed noted and said they would take care of right away. Not even a few hours later, one of Reeds crew was back and making the adjustment and checking with me that it was correct.Im already planning to have work done by them next spring on my back yard. I walk out my door or pull into my driveway and still cant believe this is my home. The difference with what Reed and his crew have done, has cars slowing down to look as they drive by and several neighbors coming by to ask who did the project. Hands down they are the best- get on their planning schedule while you can.

Reed and his team (especially Mike and Andrew) provided excellent landscaping from start to finish on my complete yard makeover, and did it all within 13 business days. This included sprinklers, new sod, flower beds, shrubs, a fire pit, some xeriscaping, and he even covered lawn/plant care in detail. In general, Reed was very helpful with the overall design, followed that up with great attention to detail, and helped address some of the quirks of my property (low water pressure from the city main line, as one example). He made himself very available throughout the entire process and was a pleasure to do business with.Additional detail -To begin with, he promptly replied to my request for a quote and was out at my property by the following weekend for a walk through. While at my property, we talked about how best to design the yard, nailing down the broad brushstrokes. Within the next few days he provided a full landscape design and an itemized cost breakdown (this was not always easy to get from other landscapers). We further refined the design based on my budget and then secured the start date with a deposit. Just prior to the work starting (within a few days), we confirmed the start date and time, and things moved very efficiently from there. His team, including Mike and Andrew, were great at keeping me informed throughout the process. To wrap up -I highly recommend Reed and Austin Native Landscaping. Very easy to work with and supremely capable landscapers.

We are so glad that we chose Austin Native Landscaping to install our backyard landscaping. We did our due diligence and received landscaping plans and quotes from a few other companies. They most likely would have done a good job; however, Austin Native Landscaping did a fantastic transformation around our newly built pool and spa! Reed and his crew, Andrew, Edgar, Nir, Art, Angel, Jose and Mike worked very hard for a week. From design to the finished project, there was never any doubt what the plan was. Reed provided computer drawings and when we tweaked it a few times, he resent drawings and quotes each time. The contract was drawn up, showing us exactly what was to be done, with clear prices and broken down to include what each price was for. Reed was very accommodating and flexible and offered suggestions that enhanced the backyard without much maintenance on our part (we are in our golden years, and want to enjoy the yard, not necessarily work back there). In addition to everything mentioned here, Reed and his crew wore great lime green t-shirts with Austin Native Landscaping on the front and, we loved this, they wore masks the whole time they were working. Reed and his team just finished an amazing job converting what was a convoluted backyard weed city into an easily-maintainable, xeriscaped landscape with native vegetation. We fully expected this work to take multiple weeks, but the team completed the job in 5 days. We have worked with other landscaping companies in the past - below are the main things that defined Austin Native Landscaping as the best:1. Responsiveness - Reed always responded to our emails within the same business day, sometimes even within the hour.2. Knowledge - Reed and his team were always able to answer my questions and provide their feedback, even concerning areas of the yard on which they werent specifically working. It is very clear that Reed knows his stuff when it comes to native Texas plants and landscapes.3. Flexibility - The team prioritized our needs and availability. They readily accommodated our request to add an extra bed in the backyard for our dog, and put it in for free.4. Guarantees - Reed has told us that if a plant dies, he will replace it for free. If a paver cracks, he will replace it for free. This gives us a great sense of security.Overall, it was just a pleasure working with this group. Highly recommend!Dave and EllenAustin Homeowners

Reed and his team met our every expectation for the landscaping overhaul we had them perform on our home. Before arriving, our front yard was a mess with an old flower bed that was missing most of its original flowers and missing a tree that had to be cut down due to disease. Our side yard was a disaster in even worse shape and was basically dirt. While we were obtaining estimates, we appreciated Reeds no nonsense approach that got straight to the point. Based on our initial meeting (~15-20 min), he provided us a free visual landscaping design, whereas other companies wanted hundreds of dollars for a similar design. Communication was always prompt and respectful, and all our questions were answered truthfully. Reed was never pushy throughout the process and was able to provide us with a variety of options for the design through multiple revisions. We absolutely appreciated his patience during this phase. When Reeds crew started work on our property, we discovered that they were just as responsive as Reed was during the design phase. We communicated mainly with Mike, the foreman, who was always happy to answer any questions we had and was quick to respond to any issues that we had. This ranged from logistics of various equipment, plants, and other material that needed to be delivered to particular questions about irrigation and implementation of the design we created with Reed. Andrew was a great resource as well, especially for any plant specific questions. In summary, any questions or issues that we raised were always addressed and never forgotten, and the lines of communication always remained open with the crew and with Reed himself. At the end, we were delighted with the work product and how it transformed our two yards into something we enjoyed looking at, even accounting for the fact that the plants will need quite a bit of time to mature. After construction, the crew made sure to clean up after themselves leaving our yard and driveway probably even cleaner/neater than before they arrived. And while we are certainly very happy with how the finished product turned out, it is how smooth the entire process was with Reed that prompts us to actually write a review and give our wholehearted recommendation for his services.

We recently purchased a new home and had a blank slate in our backyard. We knew we wanted a patch of grass for our daughter to play on but otherwise wanted to minimize the amount of water and maintenance required via use of drought tolerant plants and materials that would look attractive and protect the foundation from erosion.Austin Native Landscaping responded to our request for a bid promptly and unlike most of their competitors didn’t charge an upfront design fee. The owner Reed was very patient as we went back and forth over design features and allowed us to pick and choose features to fit our budget without complaint. They began work as scheduled and their crew worked quickly and efficiently. Everyone was knowledgeable and polite. The amount of material involved resulted in a fairly large mess for about a week or so but you could tell they did everything they could to minimize the impact on us during the project. They arrived like clockwork every day and finished on time. Their final clean up was very thorough. We were given detailed instructions on how to keep everything alive until it was well established and only had to take advantage of their plant warranty for two (out of roughly 60) plants. Requesting the follow up was easy and it was performed quickly.Everything looks great. The native flowering plants are very colorful and the grass they installed is very robust. The Texas black gravel they used for the beds is a great alternative to mulch and the river rock they placed on the side of the house looks great and is providing excellent erosion control. My only complaint is that our builder didn’t use them for the front yard! :)

In another few days, he arrived at the house with a revised quote and a contract.Reed was clear about what would happen and what we should expect regarding traffic, trucks, dumpsters, etc. On day one, everything we had been made to expect happened. By the end of day one, all our lawn was gone and most of the barrier material installed. In all, it took three and a half days to complete the job, a day to day and a half earlier than we were promised. The materials were scheduled to arrive as space was made available. The entire process was as well planned and executed as it could have been. The crew who performed the work were professional and enjoyed what they were doing. That was obvious by the way they treated their tools and our property. There was no loud talking or arguments. Each man knew what needed to be done day to day and each worked diligently to get the job done. Most importantly, the plan Reed had presented us was duplicated on our property. All you really need to know is that Reed and the whole Austin Native Landscaping team are AMAZING and will deliver a product and service experience that exceed even your good expectations. I cannot really express how thrilled I am both with the finished project of converting the flower beds around my corner-lot house to low-maintenance xeriscape and the experience of getting it done.I was happy with the existing physical layout of the flower beds and my (small) yard, so my goal was just to convert the beds to a xeriscape rock garden with emphasis on the rocks and a few Austin-friendly plants that don’t need much more care than rocks. One competitor quickly let me know they didn’t consider the scope and budget of my project worth their time. Another came very close to ANL in service, design proposal, and budget. But Reed was the one who really “got it” and offered a design exceeding my own vision. His proposal came in under the lowish budget I first proposed. I talked myself into a couple upgrades. No hard sell! I’m very happy I got the upgrades, and the final cost was EXACTLY as budgeted.Reed was very responsive and excellent at communicating throughout the whole process from the moment I first contacted him for a consultation. Austin Native REALLY lives up to all the positive reviews.Installation was completed perfectly a week ahead of schedule! They were able to start almost a week early, and finished in less time than promised. The guys are amazing workers, fast, and respectful of my needs and property. ANL went out of their way to not inconvenience me, such as by dealing with a “staging” issue cause by my small driveway, etc.I’m now racking up compliments from my neighbors left and right.Service, design, budget, quality, friendliness, speed, awesome finished product. I could go on. But that’s pretty much all you need. Got landscaping? Call these guys!

Reed and team did a fantastic job on our front yard. After the initial consultation, they submitted the proposed design and bid within days (including contact info for actual past customers for reference purposes) and aside from a few tweaks, we didnt change anything about it.The work included a) replacing part of our front lawn and our entire garden bed in front of our house with drought tolerant plants, b) laying large pavers and creating a walkway from the street to our front door, c) installing a drip system to water all of the new plants, and d) adding a metal mulch ring around the tree in the center of the remaining lawn. The area around the pavers and plants was separated from the grass area with metal planter inserts in the ground and then the entire new area was filled with high end gravel. They were very clear about why they picked each plant and are clearly knowledgable about native Texas plants and bushes. The install took place over several days during Thanksgiving week. The project was completed on time and on budget, and turned out even better than we could have expected. ANL provided clear post-install instructions regarding watering and care and the plants have continued flourishing since the install. Wed definitely use them again and will keep them in mind for any future work.

My birthday was coming up and it was time to refresh the landscaping in our new home. My husband is a DIY type of man but the scope of the project was too great for him to attempt by himself. We wanted a complete redo: All the old patchy grass ripped out, good soil added, privacy shrubs and trees planted. A retaining wall built due to our sloping front yard. Old irrigation was shot and leaking bad so needed a new system. We also wanted a nice mortared flagstone pathway leading to the house. And finally, an Outdoor lighting to put the finishing touch on it all.At first we contacted multiple contractors for each trade and it was a huge hassle and mess. Half of them didn’t show up, the ones that did show up tried to upsell without listening to our original ideas. You can imagine with so many trades it took a master scheduler to meet with all of them. Some of them sent a bid after a month, some didn’t at all. Coordination of all of it was a nightmare as you had to work around all of their schedules. We decided it’s not worth the hassle and decide to find one company to do it all.We contacted 4 different companies after reading their reviews and looking at their portfolios. ANL immediately stood out. Their attitude is infectious; they are young but very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Their price was mid range amongst the 4 but their design, positive attitude and promptness sealed the deal. They were booked months ahead, and could start on our projects only 3 months after we signed the contract. But believe me when I say it was worth it. They showed up early and worked late. They stored all of their tools and materials neatly after each day and especially during the weekend. Awesome communication. Most importantly, didn’t try to upsell us and followed our original idea and guidelines.Work was done within 3 weeks and the result is spectacular. Everything looks cohesive. They keep answering our many questions months after the job is done. 2 of my neighbors were so impressed they are already getting bids from them so the work speaks for itself. Thank you!

Wow, what an experience! The entire project was a breeze start to finish.First of all, they promptly responded to my email then they actually were on time at the agreed hour for my free initial visit. Not 20 or 30 minutes late but exactly when they said they would. When was the last time a contractor showed up when he said he will???The meeting was relaxed and they did not try to upsale me or make me make any decisions during their free visit. After 8 days, they presented a very detailed to scale design of my property which they measured during their visit. The design was very very detailed and clear and i loved it. They had some optional extras (I got some ornamental bouldets, they really look great). They started and finished when they said would and the result was phenomenal. After they finished, they cleaned my property thoroughly and left everything tidy.I took a number of different bids, it being a large and complicated project with a lot of moving parts (irrigation, masonry, large landscaped area and trees), and let me tell you, the difference in communication and design presentation was immense (one company sketched a rough doodle on a piece of paper, when I asked for more details they never replied). Austin Native Landscapings design was super impressive and clear. I had one minor revision (they got the revision done in about three day)They were priced mid to high range but having dealt with other unreliable contractors I now know that you definitely get what you paid for. They were booked 2 months ahead when I decided to go with the project but waiting was worth while as the outcome was outstanding. My sister just bought a new house and will also be using them.Overall, 5/5 quality, service and attitude. Thanks guys!

You get what you pay for. What can I say, its rare to see young passionate people that truly love what they do.Met me on time? Check. Provided a design and bid when they said they will? Check. Started when they said they will? Check. Left the job clean and tidy? Check. Keep answering my questions long after the job is done and they got paid? Check. Amazing final result? Double check. My previous landscaping project at a house in Houston a few years ago was a fiasco. I swore that Ill do my research next big project and Im glad I did.Drought resistant landscaping is the future in Austin and Texas overall. Instead of crappy builder installed lawns that require a ton of water, weed control, fertilization and mowing I opted to get a beautiful design from ANL.When people think Xeriscape they think Arizona, a sea of river rock and a few agaves here and there. Not on my yard. The design and the final result exceeded our exception. There are beautiful, meticulously placed ornamental boulders. Pathways with high end black gravel. Thought out placement of trees and agaves. Everything is intentional and clever.Although its a fresh install, and the plants are still tiny, I can see the great thought and care that went into my project. Cant wait to see how things look in a year or two.

I asked these guys for a bid, and they said our $16,000 design+install budgeted project wasnt even worth their time.
