I started with Northwest Fitness because I was looking for guidance on strength training. I’d been doing cardio and HIIT classes for years and wasn’t getting the results that wanted. I’ve been training with David for 6 months and am in the best shape of my life. He’s showed me how to work smarter and has helped me make nutrition and fitness decisions that work for my lifestyle. David is a professional and efficient trainer and just an all around nice person. I highly recommend this gym and am looking forward to starting up again!
I feel and see the changes in me in just 4 months of training with David. He is very professional, discusses your goals with you and sets realistic expectations. And the workouts are always (in his words) challenging-but-doable, and I surely concur. He is not at all pushy about his training program, so I would recommend it to everyone reading this to at least go for a trial session.

Here is my journey with David.I was at my worst shape in Oct/ Nov 2020 after putting on the covid-15. I wanted to straight away join crossfit or similar camps. While doing research, I saw this gym which was less than a mile away from me. I went to for a free session and was totally impressed with Coach. Best part he didnt sell anything. Just spoke about the techniques and ideas of the personal training he can provide. I started with a 12 session package and now extended it further and exactly today I lost my covid 15 and I am back in a great shape and more than everything now I can do decent weights during squats and bench press with any kinda injuries so far.Anyone who is worried about going to strength training or afraid of injuries, I think they all can use someone like David Becker. More than a coach, he is more of a mentor. He gave the confidence to work on things. Just after 2 months of training with him, I am in better place(mentally & physically). I would recommend 10/10. David you are the BEST!
Excited to find a gym during covid and a great personal trainer at that. David really knows what he’s doing and kept me accountable and sane during this time. I’ve been training for years and never got the same results as I did with him in just 3 months. Strongest/leanest I’ve ever been in my life in just the short amount of time I’ve been training with him.
I have trained with David in person as well as through his online based training and can say without hesitation he is one of the best in the industry. No matter the situation, whether in his gym or at your own, if you put in the work...you will become what it is you are looking for. I highly recommend Northwest Fitness. This is a fun, friendly gym for beginners all the way up to athletes who wanna take there skills to the next level. I started training with David when I knew nothing about circuit lifting. He tailors programs to fit your needs and helps you achieve your goals. After 8 weeks with him I was in the best shape of my life and the changes were substantial and permanent. I highly recommend this gym, you will not find a more invested and dedicated trainer than David.
I love going to these small group work out sessions! David really knows his stuff and you will leave feeling stronger and probably sore, but in a good way!Im always super motivated to keep pushing myself while working out with the others. Great environment, great knowledge, and great workout! David will have you entering beast mode!
Highly recommend David! He his VERY knowledgeable on the body as well different exercises and movements that fit your needs. I love how he tracks your progress and changes the workouts up so you never get bored. He is very attentive to your form and performance while maintaining a fun environment to be in! I have never met someone so helpful with my injury. I can tell he takes a mindful approach to each of his clients and loves seeing them succeed in their goals!! David is by far the best fitness coach I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I started working out with David back in 2013 for a good solid year. He was the first trainer I’ve ever worked with and It was tough but easy enough to understand and motivating. He made sure I didn’t give up. I had more muscle definition than I had ever had in my life. He made me confident even when I wasn’t working out for about 2 years later. David is 💯 the best trainer I’ve ever worked out with and he cares about his clients. I’m back in Austin and just started training with him again. Looking forward to his next week 💪👈🏻
I was introduced to David through a mutual friend and working with him as a trainer has been one of the best decision I have ever made.I was a gymnast for 20 years and was always worried that I would never understand how to truly workout outside of my sport and stopped working out for many years. David helped me to tie the workouts I am used to into the new workouts the right way. He is constantly trying to find a workout that works for me. If there is an exercise or weight limit that I am struggling he helps me to correct the exercise and explains the correction as well as muscle the exercise is working.He also noticed the personal details of how competitive I am, and knows that things like his leaderboard for best time or highest weight on exercises pushes me to push harder and he helps me drive to that. Lastly he is extremely flexible with my schedule. As a full time sales manager and wife of an Austin firefighter with a 2 year old at home he is always working with my schedule and availability for when I can train! All around he is the best trainer I have ever had and I would recommend him to literally anyone and everyone!
I’ve been going to one-on-one personal training with David for about 8 months, and so far its been gucci. David is knowledgeable, always on time and prepared. As a plus, he’s a good hype man. I initially signed up for a couple months to drop some extra lbs, but ended up staying longer because having regular sessions keeps me exercising more consistently. 10/10 would recommend.#choosestrength
I started personal training with David in January and have made more progress in the past few months than I have in years. I tore my ACL in 2015 and after surgery I never really got back into a consistent strength training routine until now. David has kept me motivated and made me realize that my old injury doesn’t have to be an excuse. The corrective exercises and mini progressions have given me a lot more confidence with how I move now. I haven’t been this active in some time now so it’s been a great experience overall getting back at it.
David is a great trainer. The program provides a variety of workout sessions and David always keeps me motivated. Highly recommended!

This is the best gym in Austin. David is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive during every class. He will make sure youre performing every exercise correctly and fix anything that could pose a risk of injury. He keeps the gym clean, sends you the workout in advance, and tracks each persons metrics through the True Coach app so you can progressively increase your load to hit new PRs. Ive attached a photo of my weight loss and strength transofrmation that you could get by regularly working out there (and dialing in your nutrition too, which he can help you with as well).
Great gym. Better trainer David is a wealth of knowledge who creates custom workouts to build strenth and increase cardio. I have been at NW Fitness for 4 years now and I have seen amazing results. Plus the energy is great and every time I leave I feel better about myself!
Highly recommend David Becker and his gym / fitness training -- Ive been training with David as my personal trainer for almost a year, and in that time Ive lost weight, trimmed up, and learned so much about fitness and nutritional awareness. Most of all, I feel STRONG and healthy! David offers a variety of exercise options and routines, plus tranparant guidance to help you understand your goals in a healthy approachable manner.The gym is easily located off of Jollyville near the Arboretum area, just a hop off 183. It is always well-organized, clean, and has a variety of weight training options/equipment -- everything from your basic barbells to stability balls, and even boxing equipment, and my favorite - the SkiErg!Personal training is an investment in yourself and Northwest Fitness is definitely a great option for all levels, no matter where you are in your fitness goals.
