I love the fact I dont have to bring a towel for my swim. The place is very clean. The fact they have a sauna, hot tub and steam room is excellent. Several swimming pools. Much much more. I like the place.
Called and talked Myra Hoffman about setting my account on hold because I’m sick and I can not go to the gym. This person said that she was going to do it. Called 2 times, emailed her and nothing. With my surprise my account was activated again. She didn’t do what she was supposed to do. Her attitude was not friendly at all. Please if you need help with your account find another person. Thanks god today someone with a better attitude helped me. That’s all about to say about this club. Other than that everything good.
Great gym! It has a lot of great amenities and workout equipment. The pools are great, and the cafe is a great place to work after a good workout. If youre looking for this type of gym I would recommend it.
Love this location. Childcare staff is the best and my daughter loves going. Have had nothing but positive experiences with staff in general. We are always greeted warmly and the yoga program is amazing here. The price often puts people off but if you are someone who truly will utilize all the amenities I dont see how you can not find value in this investment. Would recommend, and have.
Big shoutout to Dustin on the new equipment for the gym. Love seeing the upgrades to facility as we progress so does the gym. Great front desk service and facility. As a coach I appreciate the fact that Wendy trains with her clients and camps. Leading by example is important in this industry and she does a great job with everyone. Really like this lifetime club. Keep up the great work
A great gym; Ive been a member since the gym opened. Always clean, a huge selection of equipment, and a great sauna. I do have some complaints: A) lots of guys use spray-on deodorant in the mens room, and they even provide this -- when this happens, it makes the air completely disgusting; B) music is too loud by the outdoor pool area; and C) classes are overpriced. But it still deserves a 5/5 review to counterbalance the low reviews elsewhere.
This is an excellent gym. I have been going here for years, though in the past few I tend to frequent the Arboretum location. I always miss some of this location’s amenities such as racquetball, swimming, and LifeSpa. The locker room is also a plus here, being larger and more spacious. I always try to get friends and coworkers to join here because it helps keep me coming in more regularly and makes it more enjoyable. Thanks for reading my review.
This club is the bomb.com. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Management (particularly Dustin) is on top of everything and goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service and an incredible experience. From the equipment to the variety of classes, the facility is both beautiful and vast.Every instructor is knowledgeable, friendly and highly-trained and the entire club is on the cutting edge of holistic wellness. We especially enjoy the hot tub and indoor/outdoor pool on the weekends. I was so encouraged to see how theyve stuck to their wellness philosophy regardless of any criticism during this pandemic (mad respect). I couldnt recommend this club more! Its worth every penny.P.S. I found the melodramatic reviews from some members saying they left the facility crying because they felt unsafe due to masks not being required while on machines beyond ridiculous and quite selfish.Lifetime has been more than fair in accommodating everyones perspectives and maintaining the highest standards of sanitation even at the expense of turning long-time members off due to the many restrictions. Its despicable that these people would leave negative reviews that impact a local business whos bent over backwards to accommodate everyone during a global pandemic. Simply shameful.
Lifetime is more than a traditional Gym. It’s a friendly environment, with great facilities and professionals. It’s a place to meet great people and take care of your body and mind. I’m a member since 2012. Highly recommended.
I went in to inquire in new membership. I was greeted with whom seemed to be a Manager. When i told him, he laughed and said theres no one here. Its me and one other person upstairs. Come back tomorrow. Oh and if its just you its gonna be $109. When i tried to walk around the desk to go out the exit door i was asked what i was doing. He couldnt let me in. When i stated i was exiting, he pointed at the entrance door said i could have walk out there. Needless to say i was disappointed and wont be joining.
Never a bad time here but would be great if they provided things like lotion and other grooming materials like the other locations do.
Friendly staff. Always clean. Almost never overcrowded. Only issue is the change from 24 hours to the closing time of 11pm mon-fri and 10am on weekends.. would love to change my review back to 5 stars if they decide to extend the hours back towards the normal 24 hour service i was paying for when i signed up. If you are a early bird this probably wont effect you as they open at 4am.
Love this place. Kids camp, great gym, trainers, swimming pool and a cafe are amazing, as well as stuff there. Very convenient!
Just don’t sign up for the “LT60 Challenge”, all you get is a online coach who rarely interacts with you, and each week you receive one email and that’s about it.Other than that, it’s a nice location, opens till pretty late, longer than the Arboretum one, and much bigger.Their website is very confusing, the navigation system is a maze. It’s hard to find class schedule, hard to find where to redeem your “LT bucks” and even hard to signup for some of their paid programs(like personal coaching sessions and LT60 challenge). Someone please fix the website...
Super cool but very pricey, not worth it, my openion.
I am a fan of lifetime fitness as a gym and have been to so many locations in different cities, but this location is the worst of all the ones Ive been to, especially when it comes to gym equipment. E.g. One lying leg press machine in the entire gym that people are literally lining up to use.
Phenomenal gym. You won’t find a gym better than this. People complain about the rates being extortionate. Unfortunately, that just means you can’t afford the lifetime lifestyle. The staff are great and having the choice to not wear a mask at a station is great. Who wants to workout with a mask anyway? If you feel like your safety is in danger, simply don’t go to a gym and stay home. The membership is 100% worth it and I’d recommend it to anyone who is passionate about working out.
Front desk staff is amazing, Artist is amazing, the gym and facilities are clean and there is absolutely everything needed for a healthy life style! The kids club is the bomb, kids love going to play and they love all of the employees! Thanks everyone!
This gym used to be 24hrs, it was one of the main reasons we paid about $200 a month to attend. When Covid hit they understandably cut down their hours and said this would be temporary but now that everything has opened back up they are saying they will never go back to 24/7 service and they are still charging the same amount as before, reducing services but charging the same.
Decent tex-mex. service is good
Lifetime North Austin is a terrific gym with lots of available deadlift platforms and cardio equipment.
Our experience at Life Time has been tremendous. Most importantly, We love and appreciate their dedication to TRUE health and wellness. Bravo, team LT.
Its a great gym and resort all in one. Even had 4 water slides
Very nice gym, very pricy, very not worth it.
First time i’ve ever been turned away from a yoga class in my life. I reserved a spot for the class and showed up 1-2 mins before the start, and was told because i wasn’t 5 mins early they gave my spot away, and the class was full. I also drove from 20 mins away, so it was a great waste of 40 minutes and gasCaution: The few yoga classes I have taken with lifetime are very much a “look at me” contest; a lot of ego in class. the instructors seem more interested in trying to do “cool” poses, without proper guidance or noticing if students are even capable of such poses. The facilities are nice
I went with my family for the first time during our visit to Austin and absolutely loved it! Service was great and masks were worn kind and friendly staff. Very clean also!Would definitely recommend!
The manager profiled my sister and her boyfriend kicked them out of the gym because they “didn’t look like they would be dating.”
Lovely relaxing club. Loved it.
When you sign up they will tell you that you can cancel online. You cannot. You have to call 45 days ahead of when you want to cancel. And then you have to make sure they stop charging your account after youve cancelled. Lots of dudes wearing a lot of cologne at this gym too.
My all time favorite gym.
Great staff and customer service experiences. The life cafe staff is extremely friendly and outgoing. The front desk has always been great with me and I appreciate seeing smiles during this chaotic time. The price point can be high considering there is a basketball activities ban in the gym and the basketball courts have become anti basketball. If you do go to the facility everyday you are basically paying out $3.75 to $4 per visit. The training staff is friendly and all training staff is heavy NASM affiliated so if you are familiar or want to train with the Optimum Performance Training Model, I would recommend the Alpha training program for strength and conditioning. The equipment is starting to get outdated. I would personally like to see more up to date sports specific training equipment such as kaiser cables, versa climbers, inertia waves, blood flow resistance, indoor and outdoor turf / actual XD fit tires, etc. Lifetime as a company has dominated for a long time and has become slightly complacent and not keeping up with state of the art performance technology designed to introduce general population to human performance training and athletes to their perspective periodization of training methodologies.Banning basketball activities like most things in Texas is very hypocritical . I believe basketball has been singled out for an Austin city ordinance but I do see Group X Classes and Boot Camps going on in the same basketball court with zero masks and zero social distancing. If basketball gets the ban then so should the multiple camps, classes, boot camps going on. No matter what you do in life, anytime you enter a commercial gym you are automatically at a potential higher risk to contract Covid-19. Banning basketball discourages a high level of competition, conditioning, increased VO2 capacity, increased lung capacity that running on a treadmill simply does not. This is the very thing that can help defeat Covid-19 as it begins as a respiratory illness and give consumers a fighting chance that dancing on an elliptical simply does not. I believe that this activity is being singled out and the ban should be lifted immediately. I as a consumer do not want to pay $120 monthly to be told what workouts I can and cant do. Gyms need to be consistent and open everything or close everything. I can very easily contract Covid-19 from this facility. Might as well contract it from something I actually love to do.This gym is a heavy CrossFit gym. If youre into that style of training, this is a good fit for you. This is not focused on Sports Specific training but CrossFit and Weight loss for general population.Operations staff is great and always clean. Operations manager really knows her stuff and shes great at handling any issues that affect logistics.Putting weights on a basketball courts is extremely irrational and could drive costs incredibly high if damage to the courts.Ideally I would like to stay at this gym, but its been extremely depressing during this Covid-19 era and if the basketball bans are not lifted, I would look elsewhere for a private gym with courts and not commercial fitness. It will be interesting to see what happens to the fitness industry as a whole in 2021. It doesnt look good.
From Lifetime emails, I was really hoping that things had indeed improved in conditions. I wanted to check how things were and if they were really a lot better since first reopening (I tried then and was concerned by the conditions). So, I am writing to you in hopes to maybe make more aware what I observed in hopes something could be done.I was impressed to see that there were signs that said masks at all times except on machines. However, upon getting on the floor, I saw that people had masks off even if they werent on machines. I saw people without masks on most of the equipment. I believe that a machine should be something that is...a machine, and requires heavy breathing from cardio. A rig or a bench or a pulley system of weights are not machines. Even worse, there was no one sanitizing their equipment, save two men, in a course of 40minutes just watching the situation. I waited and it was 20minutes before I even saw a staff come by and pointed out the situation. I learned that the sanitizing often is just doing so twice a day. They said they have people occasionally walk the floor and check, but dont really enforce anything unless someone like me even makes an issue. Between 1pm and close (the time of sanitizing), HUNDREDS of people can touch any given piece of equipment. I saw numerous women without masks just touching different weight racks or rigs, some not even USING it but just socializing, and then going on to the next without sanitizing. There were hardly any sanitation stations even across thousands of feet of space too. I dont feel like staff were at all policing anyone or trying to respect the situation of their being a pandemic.I left crying. I did not feel safe. I feel as if nothing is in place to make this be a place where people care about the livelihoods of others with just even respecting one another and what that means during a pandemic; just a lot of signs to put on a pretense that good is happening. There were even CLEAR signs saying to not have more than 4 people in the pool areas of the jacuzzis and saunas, and they were BLATANTLY 5 people in it instead (pictures included). I understand that general management said that it was okay to have masks off in some spaces, but there is no clear definition of that, and no one cares to enforce it. A machine at its most simple core is an apparatus that helps conduct a function, and to that end, could be construed as any setup or rig on a weight floor. But is a bench? For doing free weights? Where is the line drawn between a difference in a machine like an elliptical, and a machine that has no technological component to it and does NOT require heavy breathing? So yes, it is uncomfortable to wear a mask and you take a couple deeper breaths as you do heavy weights. Yet you also pause in between them for several moments and are not consistently panting or breathing hard. A mask is a inconvenience, not a blockage from being able to work out and breathe. Only with cardio or aerobic exercise can that argument be made. When I finally ran into that staff - after twenty minutes of waiting to even see one - I asked what would or could be done....and they just said theyd write an email to the manager.I have a lot of respect to Lifetime, and I get that you are a business, but I feel you are not advertising the same thing that is happening in reality, and it is not safe. I have been itching and hoping to get back to your gym, but I do not feel safe to do so at this time.
So, I have been going to this gym off and on since they opened in like, what 15 yrs ago now? Anyhoo, long time. I have moved every where in and around Austin and have only left it when I had to because I moved and needed a gym close to me.I go regularly here, like 3 to 5 days a week. It is the BEST gym in the city. It has everything. What I dont like... the music in most the classes is to LOUD and we have complained for years but they keep doing it. It gets REALLY crowded so definitely consider this when planning out your workout schedule. They go thru big time stages of marketing, upselling and it isnt cheap to begin with. It comes across that they are all about the money, quantity not quality. That said, I am not looking forward to post pandemic days here. I have been loving the laid back, less crowded more clean effect the virus had on this placeEverything is a trade off and personal preference especially if you are gym person like myself. It is my core lol :) literally
For such a big gym, it only has one recumbent leg press machine, one calf raise machine, and all of their recumbent bikes have erratic resistance when dialed up. Otherwise, super clean and beautiful
Great place, clean facility and awesome staff. Thank you!
Love me some Life Time Fitness! Such a clean and friendly place. Great staff from the top to the bottom. Top of the line equipment and next level trainers. Come see for yourself.
This gym ight. Worth about half the membership cost tbh
I will never go back to another gym. I have been completely spoiled by this place. The staff is top notch. My guy Joe is awesome! They have done a stellar job of dealing with the Covid restrictions as well!
My kids take swim lessons here with Marty. Shes great!! They are learning so much and I can get in a workout at the same time. I havent tried yoga here yet, but I will soon!
Pros:They gym is nice and most machines are still in great shape. The people at the front desk and cafe are also very welcoming, and the pool is large & clean. To be honest, the staff here is really wonderful, warm and kind.Cons:Price - too expensive given half their classes cost extra and the class schedule puts the pay-for classes in the most popular times, leaving the free classes to be far less accessible.Trainers - the trainers here take up a lot of space and prioritize their clients/classes over everyone else. They often lead multiple classes simultaneously too, rendering huge sections of the gym unusable for members.Supply vs. demand - they are regularly short on mats & rollers and it is crowded at the free weights, especially on weeknights and weekends. And if a trainer is leading a (pay-for) small group class, they hog equipment and supplies for themselves, again leaving things unusable for regular members.Advertisers - on the weekends, the hallways are regularly filled with brand ambassadors or more trainers trying to get you to buy their products/sessions. It’s intrusive and - again - pressuring your to spend even more money.Overall:Nice gym in terms of equipment and diversity in workout options. Unfortunately it seems far more dedicated to making you spend as much money as possible than it is helping you get healthy and in shape.
The membership is overpriced, and if you try to cancel it, they try to make life as difficult as possible for you to do so - you cannot cancel over the phone, you have to either go in person DURING A PANDEMIC or send a certified letter! For someone with a busy, chore-filled life who has moved far away, it is one more unncessary burden. Add in seriously unpleasnant, smarmy people handling billing who have not the slightest idea on what it takes to retain customers, it just adds to the general unpleasantness. I was going to keep it as an option for my kids summer camps down the line, but thanks to the person in billing who refused to even give her name and told me I need to pay more attention to my (promotional) emails that dont even come into my primary inbox, this club will never ever get a penny of my money down the line.
Wife and I became members today finally after a year of living right up the street from this location. We couldn’t be more impressed with the level of professionalism of the staff, the way the amenities make us feel like we’re at a resort, and the quality and cleanliness of the workout equipment and spaces. Unsure why anyone would give this incredible health establishment any less than 5-stars! We’re so grateful for you all and are so excited to begin our journey back to wellness together!
Excellent management, outstanding staff! (and this location is outside Travis co. so yeah masks optional 👍)
Pretty costly but much nicer than most gyms.
5am open time advertised on internet, arrived at 5 .... closed! Not cool!!!
It is a great gym and there are some great people here but the administration and managers are trash and they overcharge you for any and everything. They bring in new people every few months because they try to take advantage of their customers and employees.
I normally go to the Arboretum location but thought I’d check out this location since I was in the area. I’m very disappointed in their COVID policies. Multiple guests standing within 6 feet of each other not wearing masks. There is a sign that states members are allowed to remove their mask if they are at an individual machine by themselves. Unfortunately there are many people not abiding to the rules and it seems that the employees do not enforce it either. The gym is pretty dingy and the bathroom is comparable to a gas station bathroom. This gym is definitely not up to the standards I’d expect from a lifetime gym.
Best gym in Austin, just taxed!!
This location was good before covid, now they seemingly dont enforce masks. Way too many people walking around without masks inside.
Update: no cleaning or vacuuming the outdoor pool. I felt like I was swimming in a lake tonight with so much plant debris and trash ! Water cloudy, very disappointingPoor monitoring of COVID rulesLast week uman walked in without a mask, got a mask front desk staff, walked away without putting it on, and front desk staff laughed when I told her.Several people in locker room do not wear masks and no staff to remind people. You will NOT feel comfortable here if you have COVID concerns.
While I was unhappy with Lifetimes approach to business during the pandemic, Im back to enjoying the club again now that I am vaccinated and they continue to expand their hours. Im hoping they go back to 24 hours soon.Their amenities are still the best in town, and justify the high price point if you are willing to pay.I wish they would have offered some sort of credit for those that did not feel comfortable in the club due to other members not following mask rules--which were pretty much un-enforceable at the rate they were being broken--or for those that signed up specifically due to the gyms operating hours.
Went in with a day pass. Only 5 free weight benches for maybe 40 people. The weight area seems more designed for people that love squats and chatting. Everything not related to weights was great.
I have experienced really great service at this Life Time Fitness location. There are plenty of machines and I rarely wait more than a minute for any thing. After the first of the year it is very busy but slows down. Would be five stars but a few of the station bikes need upgraded like the other locations have done. The machines could be dusted off and cleaned a bit more. The staff is always smiling, so good job on that.
Love this gym! Its huge and roomy. The two full-court basketball courts are really well-kept. Cant beat this place. They have a decent couples discount as well.
Got an eye infection from their jacuzzi, was told by front desk there was no chlorine in it while I was using it.iThis place can be disgusting, bathrooms and showers often smell of mold and mildew, staff do not keep up with it. Treadmills are not maintained and make bad noises, don’t expect to use the basketball court, or pool as its its constantly rented out to teams who get priority over paying members. No automated sinks or paper towels and the shower curtians frequently have mold. Dispensers to wipe down machines are few and far between. Expensive
I have been a Lifetime member ever since I joined in Minneapolis in 2001. Over the past couple of years the quantity of services has gone downhill. I can never get anyone on a phone, my recent interaction with a trainer was very negative. I need a trainer to rehab my body after a serious accident. I am moving on and dropping my Lifetime membership.
Nice facility. Was very interested in becoming a member. Tried it out a few times and the clientele in rude and the staff is questionable. Also, absolutely zero enforcement of COVID19 practices and enforcement. Comments about it to the staff was met with “sorry, it’s hard to enforce but we’ll try to make an announcement.” Staff walks by noncomplaint members in groups without masks and don’t say a word.$130 a month to be disrespected by the staff. No thank you.
If I could put zero stars I would. This place has no regard for proper health and safety protocols even in light of the current pandemic. Saw this indian guy coughing at the front desk when I entered and as I was leaving a couple of hours later a few days ago. Now normally I wouldnt say anything but yesterday I saw the same guy still coughing and very clearly sick. Not going back until this place decides to actually protect its customers and would cancel my membership if they didnt have that whole 30 days to cancel scam.
As a therapist for.special needs population Ive been to many gyms, pools, health clubs etc. This place is hands down the most positive atmosphere from the members and staff. They are very welcoming unlike gyms like LA.Fitness,YMCAs,24 Hour.Fitness, Anytime Fitness who nickel and dime both the member and guest who were prescribed therapeutic treatments through a Doctors prescription.Terri at the front desk is truly a great person with a huge heart. Sitting there waiting for someone to arrive I noticed she knew the members names, greeted them with a caring welcome, told members good bye.Anyone that knows the lady at the front desk knows Patti and her bubbly, honest, polite, encouragement personality. The members seem focused and yet nice and willing to share, helpout each other. The staff as a whole from management, cleaning, cafe, lifeguards, locker room all work as a team. Again, Thank You for running such a great business and being so welcoming to myself, members, special needs community. Your hard work is noticed and I highly recommend this wonderful health and fitness club.
A great gym but expensive and no social distancing, no mask required anymore... they even dont check the temperature.
I was very disappointed with the Life Time membership cancellation policy in the COVID situation. Due to the COVID situation, I wanted to cancel the membership a couple of months ago, but Life Time recommended holding membership until 8/1. Today I canceled the membership. but Life Time told me the membership is canceled on 8/31 because the 30day notice. and Life Time told me that just use the Life Time until 8/31 and Life Time is very safe under COVID. but I cant use the Life Time because the COVID.
The actual fitness aspect of this gym is overshadowed by the bougie amenities.
Lifetime North is a modern, spacious gym fully stocked with all the free weights, cardio & strength machines, tcx rig, various equipment such as half-bosu balls, and cushioned mats you could want. The group fitness instructors are top-tier teachers who keep their classes engaging & challenging, with modifications always available for all participants regardless of fitness level. Ever since they opened back up after the covid shutdown they have made the gym a very safe, extremely clean environment. I see the staff members cleaning the entire place constantly. The locker rooms are secure and large enough to make social distancing possible. 10/10 would reccomend joining if youre considering it!
Absolutely amazing!
I joined because they have nice pools and spacious equipment.Buuuuuuttttt...at the monthly price we’re paying, they really should update their treadmills. The phone charging outlets are still the 30-pin dock connectors from 2003! Apple hasn’t made a device with that since 2014! Don’t get me started on the Android. And if you have a fitness app to track your progress....good luck entering your information manually. None of the cardio machines are connected to the WiFi.
Great place to work out especially for new moms. They have in house daycare - Free for 2 hours and 1.5 hours for infants. They take good care of my 4 months old baby so I can do dedicated 1 hour work out. I love the fact that my 1 grader loves hang out there as well while he is taking a peak at his younger brother. They have dedicated kids Gym, Basketball court, play area and more. They also have nice swimming pool- indoor and outdoor with slides. They have clean sauna for ladies and locker room. I do not feel like I am pressured to get a trainer here and feel pretty free and confident. They also have very good yoga class and this is complete stop for workout and have fun family center.
I was trying out my free trial at this gym and the person at the front desk wouldnt let me go in at first cause he said that I didnt have an account. He was this indian guy with a UT shirt on and kept calling me down to verify my information. Eventually I just left cause I was fed up with the harassment, needless to say that I will not be buying a membership.
Great place
Have been a member at Lifetime Austin north for 1.5 years - ever since we moved to US. Wanted to share my experience in last few days. It was very unpleasant and made me and my husband feel very unwelcome. The behavior of the front desk staff and the site manager who was favoring her and trying to cover for her behavior was very unfortunate.I had put my membership on hold due to Covid and I thought of starting off by taking a trail class and then start membership if I feel comfortable and sure of moving forward.I book a complimentary session (as I wanted to try first before reactivating), arrive at the front desk and am denied entry saying I cannot enter as I am inactive. I had expected that the instructor would have arranged for me to come in, but no problem. I think its fair, given the circumstances. I ask front desk lady to call the instructor and let me speak to him. She blatantly answers that no instructor with that name is in the center. I then ask her to call someone else from that department so that I can speak to them. She tells me there is no one. I then request her to call the person who is taking the class I had requested for so that I can speak to them and clear the confusion. She tells me there is no such class going on at the moment. Frustrated, I call my husband. He had to come and let me in using his guest pass. I reach the class, instructor is there and class is in progress. He tells me I am late by 30 mins and it would be better to reschedule and come back. Fair again. I go back and leave the center.I book for next Saturday, and come in again. This time I bring my husband to let me in. She checks in my husband, looks at me and says I cannot come in. Voila! There it starts again. She tells me I cannot be let in as my husband used his guest pass to let me in last time (remember that all I could do last time with that pass was reach the class and return back in literally 2 mins as I was late because of all the drama downstairs). we get frustrated. we say that first of all we couldnt really do anything with that guest pass. Secondly, they could have told this last time itself.Anyways, I didnt want to bother dealing with inconsiderate people. I had to activate my membership ($80) per month to get into that trail class.Experience was blown out of the window. Joining lifetime which is a premium club - I would expect better treatment. If nothing can be done - then at least politeness and good behavior is the least one can expect. We went to the manager (Myra). She was another rude and insensitive person. She kept defending the front desk lady saying she was just following protocols. Where does the protocol say that dont allow guest to speak to an instructor (on request) or give incorrect information? On top of all this, she being a manager tells me there are different departments at Lifetime and they dont deal with each other ! Imagine, I as a customer am expected to connect different departments within lifetime together ! How the organization is structured is totally immaterial to the customer. For us, the brand and the entity is one single unit.In the end to share my frustration : the manager was super rude, leave aside any apologies for the inconveniences caused - she starts blaming me for coming in without pass. I say we are unhappy with the experience and the way we were treated. Made us feel very unwelcome. The manager cancels my husbands membership - says thats what you wanted. She did noth bother to confirm, or try to retain us.Just makes me feel, that Lifetime as a brand does not care about retaining people. That is evident in the behavior of their front desk staff, their manager and their sales manager as well. I had spoken to everyone possible, but it seems there is no one who cares or is willing to listen.Unfortunate, unpleasant but true !!!!
30 days written notice to cancel your membership. Quit pretending like this isnt just a way to get members to pay more money before they leave. This is 2019, you do not need a certified letter for a gym membership, this is ridiculous.Lifetime, if you do respond to this, please explain why you can not cancel a membership online? I would love to hear the explanation why your company does not posses this technology.
Great place with lots of stuff to do!
Good workout if you arrive at the right time. Only thing I dont like is that some of the better racks are reserved on Tuesday & Thurs. Aside from that the 45 degree leg machine is dated and they need a hack squat machine. Overall very good gym and the pools are amazing. The lockers & showers are top notch, always clean. The services they offer for health & wellness are second to none. Im impressed. Normally only available through a doctor. The active metabolic assessment and resting assessment will get you on your way to fitness. Combine that with a staffed nutritionist and its almost guarantee that you will be fitter. I say almost because you still have to follow the program. I highly recommend this gym.
Update 02/07/2020:They again have tried to take more money and say I owe them even more. No matter how many times I reach out I dont get a reply or someone hangs up on me.Not a pleasant experience. The sales manager at the location is extremely rude and unprofessional. Every interaction Ive witnessed him have is hostile and lacks even basic customer service.I was also lied to by the rep who came to my office to pitch us on a corporate account. If we attended a certain number of days then we would personally pay less. I was lied to what that number was, and how much it was to add family members in that meeting. The gentleman also told us that there were kickboxing and martial arts classes multiple times a day, at this location. We were also told that we could work out at any LifeTime around the country, that was our club level(Onyx) or below. All of those things have proven to be false though. Every single one of them.I went into cancel membership after only a few months of having it, due to closing lies and overall not being a good fit. I was charged that next payment, as expected. I was then charged another payment, and not at our prorated cost. I went back in, again, and cancelled. LifeTime has continued to attempt to charge my account months later no matter what I do. I got another email today and called the number. They told me they dont have a cancellation policy on file. I said Ive done it twice, and at this point the clerical error is stealing. I asked to be transferred to someone who could help me get this resolved, was transferred...and hung up on.This is an organization that will lie to get you in the door, make you feel like trash when you are in the club & will do shady things to keep trying to get cancelled members money in hopes they wont find out.
If I could give zero stars I would. Rude, condescending personalities work here. Stay far away.
I had a very poor and awful experience with this gym branch, they keep charge ur money, once you are trying to quit, they play tricks on you without reveal the detailed charge. The staff the attitude are mean and awful as well. Definitely not enroll with them unless you want to throw money away.
Dont be scammed by these guys. I accepted their advertisement offer for a free day pass to try the gym out, but when you get to the gym they will tell you it isnt actually free and they will try to charge you $45 for the day. The place is totally sketchy. Their customer service and management are absolutely awful and totally condescending. Ive also heard rumors that once you sign up they make it a nightmare to try to cancel your membership - all of which are ridiculously priced. Dont go here.
Lifetime fitness is an absolute scam. Any gym that forces you to give 30 days notice to cancel only cares about one thing - Money. And their 60 day challenge is a money grab. They pretend that their trainers are intimately involved in helping you along the way. They get you to sign up and then you rarely if ever hear from them again. For a gym that talks the talk and pretends to be all about the people, they do not walk the walk. They have no problem taking your money though. Way overpriced for what you get. When I cancelled, I was called by their sales manager Max and he was a total jerk. He made sure that I will never return as a member again. If negative stars were an option that is what I would choose. I learned my lesson, never again.
The cleanest gym aroundBest of the best gyms in town
Best of the Lifetime gyms in Austin
Best gym in gym in Austin. Kid care is awesome for parents.
The experience before getting the membership and after getting the membership is so different. Sales representative will say anything to get you in. I am a frequent traveler and my account manager Joshua says would hold my account when I travel and thats why I signed up the membership. Later he changed his story and claimed the fine prints in the application material that I didnt recall. I am very unhappy how Lifetime just didnt care in this dispute the process and thats why I withdraw the membership. This Lifetime makes me feel they only care about the money instead of the customer.
My wife and I both asked for a quote for membership for our family for this gym. My quote was 50% more than the quote my wife got. It is very easy to tell from our names that I am Asian and my wife is white. Both quotes were given in the same day and by the same employee, Terry Torres. I think the quote difference is because of my race. I have reported this to Texas Attorney General Office. I am sure I will not be the only one who was treated like this at this gym if it is due to racism. If you were treated the same way, please also speak up. Do not be a silent victim.
This gym is huge, but thats not necessarily a good thing. I only use the gym here and am a member due to having a discount. Otherwise, its not for me personally, since there is no point for paying full price if you dont use all the extra stuff they offer. The service is great, no complaints there! Locker room and facilities are always clean. Gym goers are considerate. The equipment is top notch and Iots to use. It caters to different fitness goals. I genuinely enjoy this gym, but wish the company used their space better. Why do we need a hair salon? Turn that into another gym area/room. This place gets crowded, and yall taking up space doing brazillian blowouts and manicures.
If you do want to get a quick and effective workout, join lifetime ( def north location).Take Inga’s classes ( barbell strength, glutmax...), I will promise you that she will motivate you, make you feel special and def in that one hour effective workout ( within less than 3 weeks ) you will see results 👍🏼Love this location, it’s emptier that lifetime south, it’s cleaner, and has amazing coaches ( costs included in your gym membership: you don’t have to pay for these classes) love my lifetime north ❤️
I had troubles because the personal trainer I used did not notify me that the appointment we set was not apart of the free consultation when I first signed up for Lifetime and I was charged the full $75 on my account. When I spoke with Mai just now, she amended the problem even though this happened last month. Everyone at this location has been so helpful and everyone always has a smile on their face and greet you! I recommend this place to anyone!
The best gym ever. Clean and perfect up to date equipment
Lifetime has been a great place for us. Cyndi goes to classes every morning at 5:30. I work out at night. The outdoor pool is great on the weekends, too. Were amazed at all the towels they provide, although the bath towels are really thin. Usually, the facility is quite well-kempt, but I took off a star as the nighttime state of the facility feels much less attended to. Plus, they took both whirlpools out of commission at the same time for 3 days to clean them. Isnt the purpose of having two so that one will always be available? All in all, a very decent facility. The music is too loud, which makes using Airpods almost unusable. So many people are using airpods and headphones, they should seriously lower or turn off the music.
The Facility is pretty nice but definitely over priced. Some of the staff is friendly others just kind have a straight face all the time. You arent really greeted at the front desk or when you leave, either way that isnt my issue. When I joined i had a trainer assigned to me even though i didnt ask for one. After i guess my Trial session was over i almost felt pressured into continuing with the trainer which made me feel uncomfortable and almost made me feel like i needed to dodge the gym because no matter how many times i said NO THANK YOU Im NOT INTERESTED i still feel as if it had been pushed on me in a way. They offer some pretty cool classes but as someone else mentioned they really arent catered to the working class. super early or mid day. You can definitely achieve the same things at a least expensive gym. Its not like the service here is above and beyond. other then the actual gym just being spacious and clean there isnt really a WOW factor worth the price..There are only two Locations which you have to pay more to use both locations as if it already isnt expensive enough you cant be a memeber to both without the extra fee and the steam room which i use everyday has been down forever. kind of sucks. save your money
Love this place!!!! Try it out, it is not like any other place. Lifetime has never disappointed me!!
Overall a pretty nice health club.Equipment: Everything is mechanically maintained very well here. Hardly any machines or equipment is out of service, if so, they are fixed quickly. There’s an abundance of stuff to use for your work out, it can be overwhelming, but the variety of exercises you can do is probably way beyond any other gym in the area.Pools: Two giant hot tubs, indoor and outdoor lap pools, plus two huge leisure pools with slides. The outdoor pool and poolside cafe is a huge perk during the summer. The indoor pools are great during the winter. Pools are always clean.Cafe: The cafe, while just a bunch of reheated food, is super convenient and pretty tasty. The smoothies are great. And the employees are always really friendly.Spa, Courts, Rock Climbing, Child Care, Yoga, Classes: Haven’t used it at this location, but these amenities are available.Vibe: Depends on the time of day. The busiest times are M-F 4-8, Saturday morning to afternoon. Sunday is chill. During these peak times, there can be a lot of people here. It can be quite chaotic, and you may have to wait to use some equipment. Go during off peak hours, it’s much more enjoyable.Cleanliness: I do think the gym is pretty clean and neat overall, but there’s a few areas that could be improved. The treadmills are pretty grimey. The walkway between the men’s showers needs better drainage so you’re not walking in puddles. The lockers need to be wiped down inside (they smell terrible every time you open one).Cost: This place is pretty expensive, but there’s a ton of amenities so the value is pretty great if you use it all. If you time it right, they do a no joining fees event periodically, otherwise there’s a fee for joining. The membership is month to month with a required 30 day cancellation notice. Expect to spend about $90 per month, for a single adult. Discount for multiple memberships.Employees: Everyone here is pretty friendly. Front desk, upkeep staff, cafe, membership desk are great.Edit: Staff must be reading reviews! Awesome. Saw someone cleaning up the treadmills today. Thanks for listening LT! Upped to 5 stars.
I love life time for miss Eva and Inga’s classes, About the Spa I had a very very bad experience over there!I got hair cut last week, I had a long and very nice curly hair, I just wanted to get U shape, but now I have a short and very terrible hair cut. 3 days and 3 different person wanted to fixing my hair cut, but they couldn’t. I am very upset of them. Please if you cannot..., do not....
More like a shopping center than a gym! There is a salon, restaurant, pool, and gym all in one. The gym is super expensive and the atmosphere isnt encouraging. Just seems like everyone wants to take pictures of themselves working out here.
Patty at the front desk is amazing! Love her positive energy
This indian dude, his name was Nabil i think, just kicked me out a couple of days ago cause he said my day pass wasnt valid even though I had bought the pass earlier that day.
Josh from member services is a stud. The facilities are great and its open 24/7. cant beat it!
This review is solely about the sales experience. If you are thinking about joining this gym, be prepared for pressure sales down your throat. I called a couple days ago to get a quote for my mom seeing as they do not list their quotes in their website or they are hard to find even for a tech savvy person like myself. I spoke with a guy, who’s name I won’t say because maybe he was just doing his job, who asked me for my email to follow up. I didn’t really want to give my email but I did just so I would have a point of contact. He went ahead and emailed me the quote and saying the $0 sign up fee was expiring at midnight. So far so good, I had what I needed and could make a decision. Later that same evening he called me, but I ignored the call. He left me message telling me again about signing up before midnight. I DID NOT GIVE HIM MY PHONE NUMBER OR PERMISSION TO CALL ME. He took my number from caller ID, which isn’t right. Then I received another email again about signing up. And this morning he called me again asking when we were coming in. I was extremely annoyed at all the pressure and told him WE would call when WE were ready in a short and quite annoyed manner. Needless to say, we will not be considering this gym. Reasons are pretty clear.
I love Lifetime! The prices are decent for membership and the 1st week is free. The childcare center rocks and my kids love their child fitness classes too!The deals they offer year round are fantastic so I suggest getting on an email list and waiting for the right deal to come your way.The equipment is clean and the floor plan is well thought out. Its just so dang far from where I live in Steiner! Please open one closer!! Like at the Wal-mart center that just closed down on 620!!
If I could give this no stars I would. Firstly, the cost of the membership for this gym is ludicrous, and what makes it worse is the products they push are very overpriced. Secondly, if you want to put your membership on hold or cancel they need 30 days notice. If you DO put it on hold you need to pay $15 a month for however long you hold it. What makes this all worse is one way or another you need to go to a location to cancel or hold your membership. NEED to. I am not exaggerating when they say theres no other way. When you do cancel, they prorate the days from the first of the month. It doesnt just end, and you dont have a choice. The hoops you need to jump through for this place are insane, and will seriously hurt up wallet. Save $100 and go somewhere else to use the same exact equipment.EDIT (11/29/2018): They followed up with a laughable email offering a $10/mo pause instead of the normal $15. I cant tell if its generousity or a spit on the face, because it feels like the latter. In response to their response, unfortunately I was told by two different centers you need to come in and cancel. Certified letter was not an option. Im also assuming this is via post office. Its 2018.
Rates keep going up without any explanation. They give you free training sessions but good luck getting on their schedule.
