We have had a great experience with Sylvan of South Austin so far. My son did not want to go to take the assessment and after we left he asked when we would go back. He loves the token system where he can “buy” items. We are still very new to the center but I have been impressed with his interest in going especially since he is working on his writing which is a struggle for him. The communication is also top notch! I am looking forward to seeing the progress he makes over the next few months!

The Sylvan South Austin Learning Center has been an incredible asset towards improving our daughters reading and comprehension skills. In just a couple of months of twice weekly tutoring, our daughter is almost back to reading at her respective grade level. Our household has an unusual work schedule. Stacy has been super-flexible with accommodating our scheduling needs. The staff are genuinely pleasant, patient, thoughtful, and most of all, effective at what they do. We recommend this Sylvan Center to anyone with a child that needs a little extra support.

New to Sylvan this year. Very happy with process of getting son tested and started into a customized program that helps him do his homework and also reinforces the topics with Ipad learning and games.

We have been so pleased with Sylvan so far. They came up with a great learning plan for our son based on his evaluation and our goals. He looks forward to his sessions and already sees the benefit.. The staff have been very easy to work with and I can tell they want the best for him. We look forward to seeing his progress over the next few months!

WE ARE SO EXCITED....Our daughter Sophia Isabelle Loves to learn so when this pandemic hit it was horrible for her not be in school learning. Virtual was really difficult for her and as result she is really behind in Math. But now that we have enrolled her with Sylvan she is so excited to get back to learning. They have really made us feel at ease to the fact that she Will be all caught up for 4th grade. She loved taking the assessment and is super excited to get back to learning.

My 4th grader enjoys the tutors. Friendly staff and monthly meetings are good for finding out progress of my child.

Going to Sylvan was the most amazing experience for my daughter. She walked in the door feeling defeated and insecure, and with some real struggles in reading and math after the pandemic. She is leaving now with confidence, pride and tools that she will have for the rest of her life. My son is doing virtual kindergarten, which really means I am his teacher. Im a single mom trying to work a full time tech job with a toddler and 5 year old at home with me. Needless to say, my day is full...REALLY full. My son is crazy smart, when they tested him in math he placed almost two grade levels above. But, he also may have ADHD, so getting him to focus on his lessons and homework at home has been an uphill battle. It got to the point where he developed a bad attitude towards school and Im not ok with that. A few weeks ago I was at the point of deciding to pull him from school and have him repeat the year. Instead I signed up for Sylvan. They are working on filling in the gaps in his knowledge which will support his efforts in learning to read. At first he wasnt super excited to go. Now he calls his sessions his fun appointments and is very motivated by their points system. I no longer stress so much about his assignments and classes, which means our relationship is no longer suffering and he isnt hating it as much. He is enjoying learning again, and I know he is getting the help he needs. This is a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders and I would do it again in a heartbeat. All of the staff at this location have been really great and the whole process has been very easy. I highly recommend!

My daughter really enjoys the program. The tokens portion really motivates her to achieve more.

My son has recently started doing twice a week sessions and he is really enjoying himself! The instructors and staff are very professional and really help the parents or guardians understand where your child is at and how they can succeed!

My daughter has been going to Sylvan for about six months. Sylvan has been amazing helping with her reading challenges due to a learning disability. They are kind, patient, fun but diligent. My daughters school has even commented that they appreciate the outside help and it is apparent that she has been getting good instruction outside of her regular classroom. My daughter also really enjoys going, it does not seem like a chore to her and she especially appreciates the wall full of goodies she can choose a reward from when she earns enough tokens. Keep up the great work!

As a veteran of 20 yrs with the company, I can vouch for the progress made by students who are enrolled at Sylvan and really make an effort to learn. Some continue to stay in touch with me years after leaving. My daughter has been going to Sylvan for a few months now i put her in Sylvan because she was failing Math every six week Fs on her report card. Her first report card after going to Sylvan she has FINALLY passed !! She is so confident now and i see it in her work ! There is no price when it comes to our childrens education. Carly is also so well to work with !

My 8th grade son has been at Sylvan for 3 months and I had no idea in such a short amount of time I would see a difference. We have been attending this location for a little over a year. Both of our kids were well under grade level for reading when we started. Now my kids are both above their grade level in reading. They have an excellent way of keeping the kids interested and excited to continue with Sylvan.

It has been a pleasure to witness our children blossom since we began attending over a year ago! That faculty has been a delight and the results have been consistently rewarding both in their studies as well as our childrens confidence levels.

Sylvan teachers have helped boost my sonss confidence in writing. Children will speak English language fluently but when it comes to writing thats when Sylvan kicks in.

When Margarita first started at Sylvan she was at end of 1st grade and was about to be retained because she was reading at the middle of Kinder level. After a lot of advocating for Margarita the school finally decided to move her to the 2nd grade and assisted me with getting her tested for reading disabilities. As it turned out Margarita has ADHD and Dyslexia which was the root of her learning disability. I reached out to several tutoring locations with little success and I finally started working with Sylvan. They were honest in saying that it was going to be lengthy and difficult but they would help her to be successful. They would work on an extensive plan for her and would give her the tools she needs to be on task with her grade level. Its taken longer then we originally planned, but Margarita faced a lot of challenges. Sylvan has worked her homework assignments in her plan to be sure there is constant alignment with her day to day curriculum. Shes now in the middle of her 3rd grade year and is already working through the completion of 3rd grade skills and working towards 4th grade skills. Sylvan has successfully worked with Margaritas ARD team to be in alignment with AISD curriculum. Theyve even made recommendations and Margaritas ARD team has added that to her list of tools. Not only have they successfully assisted her to continuously advance and be successful, they have done wonders to her confidence level. Margarita has gotten to know the team well and always has good feedback about her tutors. Every now and then she doesnt want to go to tutoring but it has pretty much become a part of her routine. Now the cost isnt for everyone but I guarantee its worth the investment. Shes caught up to her peers but I want her ahead of the game so well continue to provide her tutoring so she can master other subjects and be ahead. At the beginning of her struggles it was such a stressful time for us not being able to provide her with the help she needed, but after finally realizing, all we can really do is advocate for our children and get them the professional help they need. Sylvan has provided that professional help and they have done an amazing job at Margaritas success.
