If you are trying to decide which studying abroad program to use definitely use ISA. They plan many cultural and transitional excursions and activities while you are in Paris, which I found beneficial! If you are trying to decide which city to study in go to Paris, I think you will be surprised with this city. Paris is not a big “busy” city like New York. Everybody is much more relaxed and moves at a slower place which makes it much less intimidating. All of the little neighborhoods within the city are very charming and quaint. Additionally, it’s a very good city to leave from to travel to other places because Charles de Gaulle Airport is so big. Overall I would definitely recommend using ISA Paris! You will be amazed with how welcoming they are and how amazing France is!
ISA is the reason my study abroad experience was absolutely life-changing. They know each student by first and last name and they genuinely care about each one of us. They reply to emails literally within seconds, and they go out of their way to help their students whenever possible. They are some of the most friendly people I have ever known, and they are more organized than you could ever imagine. The excursions were life-changing, along with the entire study abroad experience, all thanks to ISA. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
The best study abroad program in my opinion. They were always there to answer your questions and they were very clear and concise. Once I was aboard ISA was still there helping you along the way and alway made sure we were up to date on all the excursions and news. There was always someone there. I could not ask for a better experience.
If you study abroad try not to use ISA.Wasnt a very good experience at all.The people You pay and learn about the program from are not even the ones you meet in country. This was a surprise to all of us when we arrived to morocco. As it was portrayed they would be the ones we will be seeing. And not once was it said to us that the people conducting business with us-were NOT going to be the ones there. All three personnel on site were not even from America actually. 2 were from morocco and one was from spain. The people you paid and talked to previously have most likely never even been to the site you paid to go study abroad in.The apartment was severely out of date and lights kept exploding when we turned them on. The water quit running on several occasions. The kitchen counters and cabnets had a disgusting sticky substance on them when we moved in. Nothing was dusted swept or mopped when moving in either. and we at first had a roach infestation that took forever for them to fix because the staff was clearly not prepared for anything if plan A didnt work out.The majority of the time the staff were very unprofessional and proved to be a bit childish. Even when i had brought up certains attitudes that were given to me after asking questions in regards to our roach problem, it seemed as if they took their sweet time trying to fix all of our issues. I ended up having to email the head quarters in texas. In order for anything to happen.Eventually they stopped keeping their promise to fix our lights and stopped coming to fix them in general. The last time they actually came in to fix the lights in some of our personal rooms i was given the sentence you can just do it yourself from of course one of the staff members that wanted to give me an attitude the majority of the time. Not enough details from the program about morocco were given in my opinion. Certain things like the cat calling is far worse than they portray and its actually a lot of the time not cat calling but sexual harassment. There is a major difference between those. Of course if enough detail was given i would have never spent the money to be in Morocco for three months. And i feel like i wasted all that money on this program.I guess i only chose ISA to begin with because they had me at payment plan. And im not coming from a family where mommy and daddy were gonna pay for the experience for me.Moral of the story is. Not everything that glitters is gold.
