Heart of Texas made this process very easy. They provide exactly the service that they describe, and they do it in a very professional way. The staff was always knowledgeable and courteous when I called, and they made the pickup of my fathers remains very easy and dignified. There is nothing fancy here, so If youre looking for anything other than what they describe on their site, you are in the wrong place.
If my family would have known about this place back when my grandmother passed away...it would have been a great relief for my uncle.... Im impressed with the way they handled my mom... with dignity and respect... and absolutely no high pressure to add on to the bill... would definitely use them again but cant cause Im the last person in my family
Bad experience. Personnel are not helpful and seem to dread working there. Everything from the errors I had to correct several times on forms to the fact they only ordered 2 death certificates when I asked for 8 ( and then tried to charge me extra for ordering the remaining ones) was just a bad experience. You’re all servicing people who’ve had a loss in their lives, if recommend being more professional, empathetic and overall taking a little pride in your jobs.
Heart of Texas was a great resource for me at a time of great need. They respectfully, promptly attended my husband at his passing. I had to go all the way out to their office for pickup but when I got home and was unable to get the urn out of the box, they drove all the way to my home to assist. I cant say enough good about this company and highly recommend them!
Have your loved one go anywhere else. One- they are a ripoff, and charge $50 here, several hundred there- it adds up.Two- they are incompetent. I got several different estimates for the time frame in which they said the death certificates would be back from the state. None are correct- it’s been almost two months. I cannot empathize enough- you HAVE to have this certificate. Is that out of their hands? Perhaps- but they didn’t offer to do jack all to follow up with the state. They did eventually provide me with an (incorrect) 800 number. Really? They deal with this department ALL OF THE TIME and that was their best shot? Thanks for nothing.
Very professional & compassionate. Melissa kept us informed of every detail & went the extra mile to honor our requests. Highly recommend their services.
They were professional and courteous, but they forgot we wanted to witness the cremation, and so it happened without our knowledge. Our beloved sons body was cremated without the prayers we wanted to chant. This was due to an administrative fluke, but since I had talked to the director about our wishes several times, I feel that the personal attention a family has reason to expect was lacking.
Both my ex husband and my daughter were taken to Heart of Texas. Wonderful people that were sincere and kind. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you for your service.
My family and I would like to express our gratitude to Joe Martinez and his assistants for the courtesy, respect, professionalism and care they have provided us during a time of great sorrow. We were explained exactly what they would do and gave us the price for their services. When they came to retrieve my husbands body, they did so in a very respectful manner. They provided us guidance for my husband’s Veterans funeral. We would highly recommend this company.
I wouldnt rate them one star but I did this was the worst place my family ever had to deal with after my moms death not friendly they even had the nerve to make a threat to sue my family if they posted on social media. Well I live out of state and had to hear about all that happened. They are not even sure if its my moms ashes. When asked to see her before cremation they said no by law its your right and its your right to post on social media. A company thats legit shouldnt make threats. They supposedly sent her body to San Antonio for cremation.
The people of this company were very kind and professional. They explained exactly what they would do and gave me the price for their services. When they came to retrieve my husbands body, they were very respectful in making sure I had time to spend with him before they took him. I would highly recommend this company for their courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
I was happy with the service and quality of their work. Professional, compassionate and fair. Very easy to work with.
The people at Heart of Texas Cremation made the cremation of my father simple, cost-efficient, and dignified. They also offered a range of urns and keepsakes for my whole family. We were really impressed with them. And we love the fact that it is the business of a veteran. Thanks for your services HOTC!
They took care of us quickly and were courteous during a difficult time as a family. Price for services were very reasonable. Would recommend especially for cremation service.
They picked up my mom very professionally, respectfully and reverently. Her move was handled quietly and the van was unmarked. Even the UPS driver who arrived with a package just after we closed the back door of the van had no clue as to what was going on.I did a viewed cremation for my own peace of mind. That was also handled very respectively and reverently, I would also like to add that the cremation area was the cleanest working facility Ive ever seen in my life. They didnt try and upsell us on anything. The man and his wife were a pleasure to deal with.I would highly recommend this facility to anyone, their prices were much lower than the big funeral homes and they fit our needs perfectly.
This is very emotional to make this review... Im very pleased with heart of Texas and the way they handle everything and are very understanding of the mourning process thank you Johnathan and Heart of Texas for your services.
They make a difficult time less of a hassle. When youre faced with grief, the last thing you want to do is plan a funeral or memorial. They were prompt, professional, and comforting in their demeanor. I, unfortunately, had to use them twice within a six month period. Fortunately, it was affordable.
Excellent customer service. Very kind
I worked with them from Longview Tx. and they kept me informed on everything. I would recommend them to anyone.
It took me about a month to write this review because I didnt want to relive the night that my dad passed however I had a good experience with Heart of Texas cremation and funeral home considering the circumstances. Heart of Texas was recommended to me by my dads hospice nurse. After having read their excellent reviews, I called them to make some inquiries. I believe the gentlrmans name was Jonathan who was very helpful and patient over the phone with me. After speaking to him, I concluded that I would use them. My dad went on to be with our Lord and savior on July 1st. Upon calling Heart of Texas, they arrived within 20-30 minutes. Two very kind and respectful gentleman arrived dressed in suits and were very presentable and professional. They entered our home and stood in the doorway with their hands crossed infront of them and their heads bowed down out of respect for my family. They offered their condolences then I invited them upstairs to where my dad laid in his hospital bed. As soon as they entered the room, one gentleman mentioned how handsome my dad was which I really appreciated the compliment. They slowly and cautiously began to wrap my dad in their white sheet. I requested that they do not cover my dads face which they agreed however they kindly explained that before they exit our home, they would cover his face for my dads privacy and dignity which was completely understandable. Although it was 11:00PM, I still did not want to risk any neighbors seeing. These two gentleman very gently and carefully handled my dad. My dad was a smaller man so the gourney was not necessary upstairs. He was slowly and carefully carried down the stairs and it was one of the most heart-breaking images that I have burned into my head because we lost the strongest, kindness, most joyful and hard-working person we ever knew. My dad was placed on the waiting gourney downstairs then he was escorted to an unmarked Caravan that was already backed into our driveway. Watching them load him into the van was my breaking point as Ive never been separated from my dad in all 34 years of my life. I asked the gentleman to Please take care of my dad which they assured me that they would. Over the next two weeks, Chris (Christina in the office) was very helpful and prompt in communication with me until dads remains was ready for pick up. Upon my arrival, Christina and the gentleman with her in the office were very kind and respectful, and didnt try to upsell me on any urns although they showed me some at my request. Overall, I had a good experience with Heart of Texas as they were not only very affordable but more importantly very kind, professional and respectful from beginning to end, and I would most definitely recommend them to everyone.
If you’re looking for rude and disrespectful people after a loss – this is the place for you.
