I’m posting on behalf of my mother. She had the worst and most unprofessional & uncaring treatment by this establishment. They treated her as if she was bothering them when she would call and ask about her husbands remains. Someone even raised their voice at her and said “Ma’am we are in a Pandemic!” She is a grieving widow and a PAYING CUSTOMER! My mother told them multiple times she wanted the remains mailed to her and whom ever was working kept talking over her and kept interrupting her but finally agreed to deliver after weeks of run around. These people are very unprofessional & have lost all respect for the community they serve. Save yourself the heart ache and please go somewhere else.

When my wife of 65 years died in a nursing facility, the owner called my son back less than 10 minutes after he spoke to their night answering service. My son said he could not have been nicer. They told us that someone would be there to pick her up promptly, and they handled all of the paperwork online. The young woman in their office was very transparent about how long it would take for them to get the death certificates and when we could expect to pick up her ashes. They never tried to up sell us any extras, their pricing was totally up front & clear, they could not have been nicer and more compassionate. My wife & I were very clear about not wanting a large, complicated funeral production, and Affordable Burial & Cremation was a perfect fit for us. After our experience, Ive told my son that I want them to handle my cremation when the time comes because of the experience our family had last year. I value honesty and integrity, and the people here have both. In a very difficult time, they were also very caring, sympathetic, and supportive. I highly recommend Affordable Burial & Cremation.

My kids and I recently lost their father and he needed to be shipped back home to Lumberton,N.C to be laid to rest. Robert and family attended to our every need and walked us through the whole process. Its already hard enough grieving a loved one, you dont want to have to deal with anymore stress. I am so glad God led me to this family establishment. Deshoan looked so peaceful and I cant thank you enough for your support and patience during this time.

My experience with Affordable Burial & Cremation was surprisingly one of the most pleasant, stress-free, and comforting experiences following the passing of my father. Every detail was executed with dignity, respect, and compassion. From picking up my father from the hospital in the middle of the night (we had not prepaid or made arrangements with Affordable in advance) to the phone call with co-owner Mr. Joe Falcon shortly after 9 am the morning my dad passed away to when I picked up my father’s ashes. What I will remember most about Affordable Burial & Cremation is their personable, humble hearts. They made one of THE hardest times in my life surprisingly and significantly better. Because they really care. Because they ease the burden and enter into this situation with each family. Because they’re experienced and handle all the details while freeing up the family to simply grieve. Mr. Falcon led the phone conversation with genuine compassion, never rushing into what paperwork was required or demanding us to pay before anything was done. As one of the first people I talked with only hours after my dad passed away, his calming presence was reassuring and felt very dad-like. Only after Affordable called to say my dad’s ashes and death certificates were ready to be picked up (well AHEAD of when they had estimated) did they send me an invoice. That was the first mention of a bill. They humbly led by providing excellent services, taking care of business first and foremost; this greatly eased my mind. For that, I’ll always be grateful!

Money hungry company… you can’t do anything to remember your family that passed without them wanting money for it. stop putting a dollar sign on people’s grief!!

I first contacted Affordable Burial & Cremation Services at the end of June. Spoke with the owner Mr. Falcon. Very caring and understanding from the phone conversation. Directed me on everything I needed to do with forms. My mother pulled through the weekend and held on until August. Sadly, I lost my precious Momma on August 7th. I still had all the forms needed as instructed by Mr. Falcon. The night my Momma passed away a young man Adrian came to pick my Momma up at Round Rock Medical Center where the staff gave her the best fighting chance, but her body was to weak. Adrian was so unbelievably kind, compassionate and professional. He went to great lengths to being so gentle and caring with her body. He even allowed me to help him as this is my Momma and wanted to be part of her final wishes. Tisha and Abby are absolutely AMAZING in every step of the process of cremating my Momma as her wishes. The appointment setting to her cremation as I had requested the witness cremation, a jewelry piece I had ordered to getting the Death Certificates. Any and every question I had or have they have been there every step of the way. Even took care of notifying Medicare and Social Security for me as I grieve and fight depression of losing my sweet Momma. The caring, understanding and professionalism of these two ladies is unremarkable. I can not forget the young man the day of my Momma’s cremation... I don’t remember his name. He was as well compassionate and very resourceful on the questions we had to explaining the process.Gave my Momma one final kiss on her forehead telling her I will see her later before she entered the crematory. I know it may seem morbid to some, that is my mother and best friend. I was even encouraged to preheat and start the primary burner with the young man. It does help the healing process in my Momma’s final wish. Abby has gone up and beyond making everything perfect. Abby treated us so well that she feels like family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the 1st choice and absolute BEST! By the way, the dual fingerprint heart charm is gorgeous! Much much love to all.

Terrible customer service, bot transparent at all. It seems as if its all ran by one woman and this woman is not organized at all. Everytime we call to get info, theres an answering service and they cannot tell us anything. They simply tell us she will call you at her convenience. Ive been reaching out and had no ommunication with her. Then out of the blue she emails me and tells me I didnt sign all of the paperwork and the body has been at the foresics office since his death. He died 12/20/20. I get that COVID has slowed things down but they told us things will be done in 5 weeks. Its been 2 months and we still have not been able to get death certs to take care of his finances and have any type of celebration of life. Then I find out the death certs have been ready and they were waiting on me. I specifically asked them to let me know when they are ready this is just disgusting. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS

What an awful experience!! I came from va on dec 21st and they couldnt let me see his(my brother) body until jan 4th! Even after explaining we are from va and my daughter had to ship out for the navy on the 3rd. No compassion or caring in the womans voice at all!! I even said they are open 24 hours a day i will come at any time!! Nope not even trying to accomodate at all. Never will i recommend this place!!!

Great service, but they told me lied to me multiple times on when the death certificates were available (a month before they told me they were ready) and on the cremation date (three weeks before they told me). They promised me they would let me know everything and I could pick them up as soon as they were ready - multiple times. Run, dont walk away from them.

This place, while small, knows how to make use of every inch of its space. My fathers viewing had far more people attend than our family and friends anticipated, and while there was certainly a crowd, I never felt crowded.They even allowed us to set up a small display that played a video on the table provided - while not a large special request, I am thankful they let us prepare that at all.There are wonderful people here. Bless them for everything they do.

All I can tell you is what I’ve been told by my wife after the passing of my Mother in Law. A totally unprofessional operation. You would have never spoken to me the way you did my wife. My dad had passed and we had the viewing here. It was perfect and well presented. The people that run the place are such nice and comforting folks. I loved that we had held it there. It was just right. Thank yall!

Every visit we had with the Falcon family we were made to feel like family in professional environment. The day of services it was comforting to know they were there to handle everything, giving us time to say goodbye to our loved one. Staff was a huge help-made this painful and tragic time much easier.

I recommend Affordable Burial & Cremation Services to anyone who is need such services. The owner was more than patient with me when I showed up to dress my husband in the manor that my church prescribes. He had on the books that I would be bringing the clothes for them to dress so the body was not prepared when I arrived. Mr. Falcon expressed his regrets for the misunderstand (which was probably more my fault) and made us comfortable while he readied my husbands remains for our viewing and to be dressed. I have read some of the reviews that have been posted and I want anyone looking for these services to understand that when a loved one passes away there is still the very frank and cold business of taking care of the body that remains. Mr. Falcon tries to soften the blow and much as possible but there is just facts and questions that have to be addressed. It would help if people would READ all the forms sent to you fill out. This would help you understand what is going to happen. Again I will recommend Mr. Falcon services to anyone in need. He does it right and in manner that the most dignified under the circumstances. I have known the owner, Robert, for years and years. When it came time to plan for our family members care, he was above and beyond professional. He really went the extra mile every step of the way. A very well professional organized family business we lost both of our grandparents our grandma in Dec and shortly after we lost our grandpa in Feb Mr.Falcon made both of these processes so much easier and he was very down to earth and very understanding,Sympathetic, of what we were going thru. God forbids we lose another love in Death but if so we know where to go and that our loved one will be taken care of

My husband passed away in September 2017 after being diagnosed in June 2017 with cancer. As you can imagine, this all happened so fast and there were many details to deal with. Our hospice social worker recommended making some arrangements ahead of time. I was able to talk with Robert Falcon and he very patiently provided me with all the paperwork and details I would need and answered many of my questions. At a time when you are dealing with grief, it is easy for companies to take advantage of you. At Affordable Burial and Cremation, you get a clear price sheet up front and everything is transparent. The staff that came to our house in the middle of the night were professional and respectful. I received copies of the death certificate and my husbands ashes in a timely manner. I am so grateful to have known Robert for most of my life and am constantly impressed with the care he provides to this community.

This review is long over due and I apologize to the Falcon Family for not writing it sooner. My Mom passed away in early December of 2017. My Brother and I had been preparing ourselves for this for several months as we watched our Mom rapidly deteriorate. Mom had no assets and only had a small life insurance policy. We found out she had half of what we though she had in coverage. My family is not wealthy, and Mom had other medical bills as well. Mom had been sent to a skilled nursing center in the Houston area, while I was trying to get her transferred to Austin. We were waiting for all the Medicaid Red Tape to get completed. Knowing she could pass, I called a childhood friend who is a funeral director in the Houston area. I told him the budget we had for Mom. He told me the best I could hope for was cremation and a rental casket for the Memorial Service at graveside, and even then we would be about $2500 short. My Son had a friend who passed from Leukemia and his service was handled by Affordable Burial & Cremation. He told me what they had done for his friends family. I called about 3 weeks before Mom passed and spoke with Joe. I explained what we had to work with, and that Moms Burial site was about an hour drive from Austin. He told me he felt they could provide a simple graveside service, with transportation and a 20 gauge casket for the amount we needed. Well Mom passed before we could move her to Austin. I called and Joe answered around 4:00 am the morning Mom passed. I explained that now, Mom would have to be picked up in Humble, TX, 170 miles from Austin. He assured me they would take care of her for us, and do everything they could to stay within the budget we had. Joe and Robert Falcon were amazing. They provided us with a dignified, quality service and treated my Mom with the utmost respect. My. Brother, who has been a Minister for 45 years and has worked with many Funeral Directors said It was the best experience he had ever had. I cant say enough great things about the Falcon Family. They are in the Funeral Business for the right reasons, and that is to help grieving families get through the most difficult times with compassion and dignity. Thank you Joe and Robert.

When my Dad passed away, Mr. Falcon, came to get dad and he was very respectful to the whole family. Throughout the planning Mr. Falcon treated my Mom, along with us kids, with all the respect in the world and took the time to listen to us and as a result the funeral was very fitting for my Dad. The most disgusting horror with your loved one thawing out in front of you. They could move his hands and smell his body. Why anyone in their right mind would allow this to happen is beyond me. My cousin did not deserve this. People were shocked and horrified at the conditions they were brought into. If your not a funeral home you shouldn’t do viewings except to family members only You were tacky in telling me if they wanted a funeral home they should have went to one. So you clearly admitted your not the best place to hold a viewing. . I’m digiusted and would never recommend this place. While you remember me that is all fine and well. Your response to degrade me as a family member is trash. I talked to you privately on the phone. Note to public the man doesn’t like being asked questioned. Again who puts a body out that smells. Is this something you do all the time? Yes I’m upset and with good reason and the person who helped make arrangements hated my cousin. So the entire thing was done in bad taste. They even had to get their own chairs out to sit in. You can lie about somethings but you cannot cover or forget the smell of a body. No one should ever have to go through that. So I hope your you find comfort in degrading my cousins body. Because no one in their right mind would allow that to happen. As far as your staff I spoke with the answering service and you Robert. So quit trying to make it like I spoke with everyone. You weren’t even sure if he had been embalmed before viewing. Tried to cover it up real fast with oh my son did it. I don’t think so sir or you wouldn’t have seen his mouth coming open and his fingers wouldn’t move. It’s all about presentation and preserving for the family and public to feel comfortable. It’s not about how big the place was. It’s about how trashy it was and what happened to his body before everyone came in the room. I’m sure there were a lot of people because he was loved by many. It’s just a shame that the people who were suppose to care for him in good or bad let him down in the end. That’s something they have to live with as well as you. He was not even put in his own clothes.

So happy that we chose Affordable Burial and Cremation Service for our deceased loved one. Our hospice company set us on a wonderful path when they told us about this option. Everything was handled smoothly from the time of body retrieval from our home to the time that I was able to obtain cremains and death certificates. Thanks to Robert and his entire staff for their caring and competence at this sensitive time for us.

Put your loved one to rest with dignity. Once the call went out they showed up dressed nice to collect my mother. She was shown the respect she deserved. They dont hound you for payment until the actual process is underway. I highly reccomend this place.

Unfortunately Kermit the grief dog no longer works at this company. What’s even more unfortunate is that, in an effort to thwart Kermit’s owner forming her own mortuary business, the owners of Affordable Cremation saw fit to register the names of that former employee’s business ventures as their own. Pathetic how low some people will stoop. Please do not give your business to such petty folks especially in a matter as sensitive as death.

My Aunt passed and she did not have insurance, Affordable cremations was very reasonable and they where very professional. They took care of all the paperwork and even hand delivered the death certificates. I was very pleased with the service and they even use flags to cover veterans and service personnel. For their professionalism and respect for the family as well as their attention to detail I would recommend this group any time.

Very rude when speaking with people. Especially when asked questions. I called and asked to see my dad today and the man replied very firmly THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN I didnt know why he replied so rudely to me and asked why he did. He didnt even acknowledge what I said and told me the spouse would need to arrange that, which was fine I was just unaware of that. I called my late fathers wife and told her about her experiences shes had with Affordable Burial & Cremation and shes had negative experiences as well. She said they told her we are a no frills business. Really upset they can speak to someone who is grieving with no remorse. Im sad my dad is with people like that.

Losing a loved one is beyond one of the hardest things my family and I have experienced in our entire lives. We were told from one day to the next that my father would not be coming home from the hospital due to his battle with cancer. I immediately began to do research for a funeral home to provide services to care for my dad after his passing. I felt like the worst was happening to me. Mr. Falcon exceeded my expectations when it came to his services as a funeral director. He even shared kind words of encouragement with my family and friends before we laid my dad to rest. I will forever be grateful for the services we received at AFFORDABLE BURIAL AND CREMATION, and will continue to spread good news about their services to everyone that I know. I received my father‘s death certificates within a very timely manner, and had all the copies that I had requested in my hand within 30 days. I cannot say enough great things about Robert Falcon and his staff. My father recently passed away and we did not know what the next steps were in the burial process. Mr. Falcon spoke to us on the phone and set up a meeting, in my home, to discuss details. He did not pressure sell to us and was very patient, considering our emotional state at the time of his visit. As my father was a military veteran, he was draped with a flag when he was transported from hospice. My father was very proud of his service to his country and Affordable Burial & Cremation Service pointed us in the right direction as to contacting the Veterans Administration about his death. Once my father was cremated, Robert personally delivered his remains, the death certificates and his military flag. I am so glad that we chose Affordable Burial & Cremation Service because they not only provided the cremation services that were affordable, but did it with great empathy. Ive known Robert for 35 years and I knew that he would be the person I would call if I needed his services. When my brother, Freddie, died suddenly, Robert was there to walk us through the process. I knew that Robert would take care of things and he did. He provided information that we didnt know we needed to know. There is no one else that I will even consider when I need to go through this again.I would be wary of anyone who reviews a business that hasnt actually used their service, but is simply providing misinformation in an attempt to discredit them. It speaks to that persons character and immediately nullifies their opinion.

My friends husband passed away and a simple, small visitation was held prior to the cremation. I have a very emotionally difficult time with funeral homes. They are creepy to me. The setting Robert has created is more like a tasteful living room. Comfortable. And that is a huge compliment coming from me. Colors are complimentary to the soft lighting. It is really nice that the exterior looks nothing like a funeral home. It looks like an office suite. I liked that when you walk in there is a short hallway before being in a room with the deceased. I waited around for my friend while she said goodbye to family. This opened up the opportunity for conversation with Robert about the funeral business. He had a great ability to sense how much information I was able to handle and he made it so comfortable for me that I opened up and asked a lot of questions I had always wondered about. He takes creepy out of caring for those who have passed. Its more like he handles it from a medical perspective. My mom is 96, and while I want her to live forever, I know it is likely she will pass before I do. I have Robert entered as a contact on my iPhone. I want to be ready to reach him when I need him. I feel like I have a friend who will help me in a very difficult time.

My father passed away just about a month ago. From the very first phone call to Robert to the day I picked up his remains he and the staff at Affordable Burial and Cremation were absolutely wonderful. Thank you all for everything!

A print out - list back and front - is set before you with names of all the funeral places in Austin. I went to google. Some places had some stars, but low # of reviews. AF&C had 12 all 5star. So it was one of 4places I called. Tisha was by far the most helpful and concise in answering all my questions. I trusted her from the start. The gentleman that showed up to pick him up were respectful and patient. We started with a basic cremation but there was family that were quite upset about not being able to see him before he passed. We decided on a viewing. In a short amount of time Affordable Burial was able to embalm,bathe,dress, and prepare my uncle for viewing. We had 3hrs with him. Parking was limited, but we made it work. The facility is small, a cozy living room is the best discription. A stand for portrait in the corner, some small tables for candles and flowers and it was perfect. My uncle looked handsome and sleeping. Ive been to viewing before where folks didnt look like themselves but Robert did an outstanding job here, his attention to detail was evident. Death is not an easy conversation and when you dont really know what you want for your loved it can get overwhelming. Everyone here was patient and clear, most everything was done over the phone and email to allow you to stay at home with family. This may not matter to some, but we did all of this for less than what some places on that list charge just to pick up your loved one. Thank you.

The owner, Robert Falcon, has a long time history of harassing other professionals in the funeral service industry. There’s a lot of other places to take your loved one, don’t give your money to this jerk.

My family used Affordable Burial & Cremation for our fathers service and our mothers service which were just one month apart. Both services were perfect for what our family wanted and very reasonably priced. We were able to select what we wanted and opt out of what we didnt want and without any pressure. Mr. Falcon, the owner, is even going out of his way to help me get my mothers death certificate amended. His staff - both administrative and in the field (like the people who picked up our parents after their passing) - are very caring and courteous.We also had pre-need contracts through Cliff Hall, a gentleman Mr. Falcon introduced us to. I cannot say enough nice things about Mr. Halls professionalism, kindness, and courtesy. He was exceptional.I recommend using Affordable Burial & Cremation if you want reasonably priced services and attention to detail regarding each familys unique needs or beliefs. I would use this company again as well as the pre-need services offered by Mr. Hall.

My mother recently passed away on March 8th. I chose Robert Falcon and Affordable Burial and Cremation Services after they were recommended to me by the Hospice Social Worker. I was very skeptical at first but as soon as I met Robert all of that skepticism vanished. He made the whole process very easy for me and also took care of filing the insurance claim. I only had to give him the basic information that he needed and he took care of the rest! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an alternative to the traditional funeral home services which are at the very least very opportunistic during a very troubled time. Robert meets with you in the comfort of your own home, on your turf, and makes the whole process less difficult. I would call on him again if I needed his services and will ensure that my family use him for my own final arrangements.

This place is HORRIBLE!! My grandfather passed away July 18, 2017. Remind you we live out of town. We drove from NC to TX and stayed for 2 weeks. Make a long story short, I didnt get my grandfathers remains till a month later (September 9, 2017). Whoever the assistant is, she is rude. Robert is horrible. You dont do a service with a out of town family (which by the way my mom and I are his only family, they were not even considering that part.) We still havent received our 10 EXTRA COPIES of death certificates. This place is just horrible! When a family member passes away the family is already going through something, this place doesnt make it better. PLEASE DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS PLACE! ITS NOT WORTH IT! SORRY, NOT SORRY.

I won’t be using their services or referring anyone else to them.
