Amazing repair. We had a very difficult situation with a Samsung fold over laptop (the kind that has a touchscreen that you can use as a tablet), and the hinge broke. We couldnt even close the laptop anymore. Mr. Robot used epoxy to seal the hinge together. This kind of repair is not even possible from the manufacturer. Laptop hinge is working great now. So happy! Mr. Robot is how business should be. I brought my work laptop to Mr. Robot expecting a heavy cost to the water damage it sustained. He was not only responsive via text and phone about what the laptop needs, but was able to find the solution so quick that he texted me not 30 minutes later saying all he needed was a new battery. I bought him the part on Amazon and paid him for his time, and BOOM good as new. Had a nice conversation with the man as well. Really great guy all around :)

I had a damaged connector on the logic board of my MacBook Pro. I wasn’t able to find someone in town who was confident they could fix it. Mr. Robot was able to get my computer repaired through a contract he has with a place in NY that does microsoldering repairs. It would have been about $2000 for the new logic board without labor so I was stoked when it ended up being just over $400 shipping insurance included.In the mean time we talked about my system and he recommended a new hard drive that significantly sped up my work.Would definitely recommend!!

Helped me diagnose a failed ssd. My other storage was nearing the end of its life and he refused to work on my machine unless I was willing to part with those drives as well. I would consider Elliot by the book and professional to a fault. Also he stated that I bought the wrong ssd for my laptop. So I called BOTH manufacturers and they both said the ssd I bought was 100% compatible though not the fastest option. So dont take what he says as the word of God.EDIT RESPONSE TO MR. ROBOTCrucial and MSI TECH support say its compatible unless you can substantiate your claim with evidence to contrary Im gonna believe the guys who made the products in question.I dont know why you think I wanted you to install a SATA. We had agreed on installing a Samsung Evo nvme and a repaste of my cpu and gpu. You call me up saying you cant do it unless you remove my two other working drives.I get you wanted to do it in the way you thought best but I dont want to trash two working drives. The fact you wouldnt do simple repair without demanding a specific course of action is off-putting to say the least.I did some research on crystaldiskmark, and there are plenty of cases of it giving bad or inaccurate results. Using third party software is not an infallible way to test a drive.I told you that my computer is only used for web browsing and gaming. nvme doesnt benefit those applications very much and using SATA is perfectly permissible. I dont know why you hate SATA, but just because something is faster doesnt mean its better. The difference between hhd and SATA ssd is huge. To then compare SATA ssd and nvme ssd for my applications it isnt even noticeable!I asked you then, and Ill ask again, how does leaving a drive that could fail jeopardize the health of the computer? Your arrogance is very evident in every communication with you and believing your customers are uninformed isnt gonna win you any customer service awards.You may think you are not driven by greed but greed doesnt just apply to money. Greed by definition is intense and selfish desire for something. Greed for power is still greed, and maybe you enjoy making people do things your way. You seem self-righteous about it to me.Keep putting the computer first and not the customer youre just gonna have less business. I RMAd my SATA and put the new one right back in and everything is fine. Cost of total repairs $0 I was going to pay you $245.The fact is its my computer, if I want to keep using an aging drive that hasnt failed knowing the risks of it failing that should be my choice.

Ive used Elliotts (Mr Robot) service several times now for the following:1) Diagnosis of a PC that wouldnt boot, including a re-build (May 2020).2) Upon his recommendation, the installation of high airflow ML140 Pro fans in a Define R6 case that replaced the default case fans and setup of a custom fan curve (May 2020).3) Cloning of an older 2.5 SATA ssd and Gen3 NVME M.2 ssd to a larger Gen4 NVME M.2 ssd boot drive. Elliott then quickly sold my old SSD and got a great price for it (December 2020).4) Installing a massive 420mm AIO CPU cooler and jury-rigging my case to get it to fit while keeping the aesthetics in place and improving the airflow performance (December 2020).He has been incredibly responsive and informative whenever Ive texted or talked to him over the phone.Ive read through a few other negative reviews and I cant say Ive ever encountered any sort of condescending tone from Elliott. Hes very passionate about what he does, and if you come to him with a computer that you either built yourself or bought off the shelf, and the individual components arent working well together, or are outdated, or are not worth fixing, he will wholeheartedly make recommendations on why that is the case and what you should do to make your computer run better. I appreciate that kind of honesty.In the end, could I have fixed some of the issues myself that I used his service for? Maybe, but it would have taken much longer and I wouldnt have the peace of mind in doing so.I definitely recommend Mr. Robots service and will go to him again in the future. He called me back right away and was very polite and super helpful on the phone - he asked me questions about what Im needing and responded with explanations of why I might value this feature over another, etc. Before reaching out to Mr. Robot, I had talked to my computer-tech brother about what I should buy and what to look out for, and I did some market research on the cost of other used computers in Austin. So I was very pleased to hear Elliott be spot-on with everything my brother said and his prices were VERY reasonable. I could tell from the get-go that Elliott was an honest and helpful guy who knew what he was talking about. I got an appointment to visit his house soon after and once again Elliott was very helpful and patient in helping me decide which computer was best for me. There were even a few times where his suggestions would be at expense of business for him, but would be more helpful for me. I really cant say enough how much I appreciated his honesty and his expertise throughout the entire process. I will also say Elliott was excellent in following up with me to make sure I was enjoying my new computer and that it was working properly. I had a few issues with my computer early in the beginning and he was super prompt with calling me and walking me through the troubleshooting. Elliot is the man, he literally fixed my custom built pc in one hour for a super reasonable price at 8PM on Monday night. And he added more cooling, hooked up a lead that I never had running, and cleaned the whole computer. Its the best computer related service Ive ever had in my entire life. Cant recommend enough.
