My husband and I wanted to do some kayaking. I called here to get the hours and was immediately impressed! SO nice on the phone! Then, when we got there, they were SO nice again! I needed help getting into and out of the kayak as I am not the youngest, most agile and graceful! No snickering or chuckling! Just helpful, polite and nice! They even helped me take a picture of myself and husband in front of their sign! The kayaking itself was very pleasant. Tons of turtles and fish. Bring water as it got hot really fast! I would recommend this place whole-heartedly.
18$ for 1 hr, paddleboard, kayak, or canoe! This is a great place to rent your paddleboard. It has about a 1/2mile stretch of water that opens up to the river! Great for beginners and more seasoned riders! It is cash only, but there is an atm at the shack where you rent.Beautiful views! Be careful however, you dont want to drop anything. There arent any places to store your items here so leave them in your car! Or being a zip lock bag!
We are all a group of students who were there for the first time.we couldnt come back on time since one of us toppled over and were late by 12 mins for the closing time. They were so rude regardless of the double we were being charged we asked them if they can cut us a better deal. Despite being charged extra they were rude just because we requested for a better deal. And they said the late fee is 25 dollars. Sure charge us but you cant be rude to a customer . Be polite and let us know that you cant cut us a deal. Thats called being professional at your job.
Excellent! Id do it again in a heartbeat. Ppl were nice and helpful
Employees were so rude, the one blonde girl employee who ran before we could catch her name told my family we could just suffer. Would’ve been a great place without the employees.
I got covid from their boat and I am vaccinated and I had a mask on the whole time. Wth
Too much fun just for 15 bucks. Staff is helpful and friendly, the girl that assigns the boats was really friendly with us. I liked the fact that she shared some personal experiences in our language. I really enjoyed the downtown views along the river also there are some ducks and swans that catch your attention following you all the way.
Super chill and easy to rent. Just make sure to bring cash, they dont take cards.
A must do for those visiting Austin. Beautiful scenery. Be careful when you reach the river because current and wind can be challenging.
Would not recommend. Staff was politely asked if a service could be rendered, and they were rude with reply. Will never rent here just based just off of conversation.
Whats not to like about this place? I had a lot of fun kayaking with family. Theyre nice to their customers and its not even a small river/pond. You can go about for a while honestly. Paddling around the pond probably takes an hour. Try it out 😊😬
GREAT, ABSOLUTELY AWESOME PLACE TO KAYAK!!!IGREAT VIEWS, GREAT TIME!!!LOTS OF FUN,GREAT PLACE TO RELAX!!!
Best prices, fast self checkout & convenient pick up
Super easy boat rental process, the prices are affordable and the staff is always friendly and professional.
Voicemail message states that the last boat goes out 1 hour before sunset; we got their one and a half hours before sunset and they refused to rent to us. In addition, the employee working at the booth this evening was quite rude to us and the party in front of us. Stated “I have been here a day and am not staying after 5, doesn’t matter what the voicemail says”. Please ensure company policies are communicated and honored by all employees working at the company.
Cash only! They also take your ID as collateral. But decent prices and they didnt charge us extra even though we returned about 10 minutes late. The staff was very good at helping us get in and out of the boats. You can take the boats out onto Town Lake. It takes about an hour of continuous rowing to make it to Congress Avenue Bridge and back. We werent able to spot any bats unfortunately, but the river was lovely.
Weve rented kayaks from this place many times and have never had a problem. This past week was the same way, even though they were really busy, they were quite organized. We had to sign a waiver first, then give them ID, then get the life jackets and paddles, then finally get in line for the kayaks. When you get out just pay and thats it! Cash only.
Very friendly staff and amazing river to kayak on. Lots of turtles to see out and about throughout your trip.
This place is great! Fun for the whole family.
The kayaks were great and the price was so good. The process, despite being packed, was quick and easy. You pay when you are done with your trip which is also a plus. While out on the water there are so many places to explore and see. It’s truly a beautiful place. That being said, I would give 3 stars instead of 5 because the customer service was awful. I was put into an extremely hot kayak and when I voiced that I was in pain from how hot it was they pushed me away. You could argue that they didn’t hear me but they did the same thing to my friend as well.
Unless you walk or run this back part of the trail you would never know this company was back here. Its a perfect little hidden gem with kayaks and paddle boards. The place really has quite the design and location making the vibe seem somewhere tropical when your still in Austin.I love it.#summer #fun #paddleboard #kayak
Super nice staff. The weather was amazing. They keep the place very clean. They only accept cash but there’s an ATM right there. Definitely coming back soon.
Weve rented boats from here often and its always a very pleasant experience.Mostly I am glad that they are willing to ask their customers to wear masks. As a member of society and a human being I understand that occasionally we all have to do our part to keep others safe.
Great location, plenty of rentals, helpful staff.
I enjoyed canoeing! The check in experience was quick and easy. Bring cash, a face mask (for check-in and out), and an ID.
Worst lake ever super dirty . Dont go
Staff was very unprofessional. We were never asked if we had ever kayaked before, got instructions, or got a warning about the aggressive wind down the creek. The guy helping us board the kayak dropped my friend while helping her in and now her hand is injured. Kayaks and paddle boards in bad conditions.
There is no other place Ive ever been to that is like Zilker Park and the beauty of the park its only matched by the beauty of the lovely ladies that come down to visit also.Got to love Austin, Texas!
Affordable. Convenient. Super friendly.
Great day trip, they take cards now! Go left to the lake much better paddle then right to the damn.
Enjoyed kayaking here with my wife. Not too crowded in the morning but picks up as it gets close to the afternoons
I love this place and paddle boarding...
Been living here all my life love it everytime we go if you come to Austin Texas Zilker Park boat rentals is where you need to be honey
It was fun first time
This is and always has been my go to place for renting kayaks or SUPS. They are friendly and helpful. Love it here.
I didnt rent a boat but plenty of people were wanting to. Great location.!
Would have gave this place a higher rating if it wasn’t for the horrible customer service experience. The lady at the cashier area was ridiculously rude. She wasn’t just rude to my group but was rude to other groups and to the other employees too!
$18 an hour boat rental. They follow Covid precautions and sanitize everything. Locker facility is also available
Nice folks and friendly service... but expensive at $18/hr per boat and you MUST have cash and hand over your ID while boating. Boats and paddles are in good shape. My opinion is that you need at least an hour and a half to really enjoy it. Would do it again but not paying for 3 boats for my family of 5.
This was an excellent family fun activity. the staff was friendly and very helpful. The equipment was in excellent condition. Rates reasonable. The views were spectacular. Wish we would have planned for more time here. Will definitely come back.
Great rental! Kayaking in Austin made easy with helpful and friendly staff! A great way to have some fun and get out on to some water. It is the perfect thing to do on a very hot Austin summer day. Good quality equipment and reasonable prices for an all around good time. I would highly recommend it!!!!!!!
Horrible service. Aggressive employee yelled at us for not wearing a mask. Could have said it much nicer. Never coming back again.
This place was amazing for a first time Kyaker. Just make sure you bring cash. They don’t accept CC
Nice experience, but Ill avoid until they accept credit cards or digital funds
Great place located directly next to Barton Springs pool! Easy place to rent a kayak and take it out on the water.very close to Zilker park.
Very convenient area to rent and launch from..
Good location. Cool staff. Great prices. Very family friendly. No waiting. We where only there 10min and out on the water. Overall fantastic experience for the whole family... we will be back!
Due to its location in Barton Springs, its pretty touristy, always with a huge line and much more expensive. Its $15 an hour or $45 for the whole day. Its much cheaper to go to Congress Kayaks, which is only $5 per hour and daily rates are much cheaper. I would recommend just boating your way from Congress into Barton Springs. That being said, the staff at Zilker Park were great and friendly.
Me and my kids love going on the kayak we had a wonderful time we stayed out there all day we got some really nice exercise the end and I really appreciate and enjoy the mend it help bring us in and push us out there very safe and I love that about them and this place and you can’t beat it for the price if you’ve never been here and you’re new to Austin please go visit this place and get some exercise wise to your city also the turtles are very enjoyable along the way
The attendant was very rude. He said they opened at 8:30. Then he said 9 and then 9:30. While I stood and waited. I finally left and went to Texas Rowing Center. I not go back there again
Very convenient place to get kayak rentals.. You can go there and check out the spring fed pool or hang out at the beginning of the stream. You can also easily access the trails from there. Their prices are reasonable and theyre always friendly.
Worth it, the staff is friendly and I had a great time
First time visiting Austin. This place was awesome! Clear blue waters and lots of turtle friends!
The place is awesome. However they require cash money to rent the boat. But they have an ATM machineSo if you are planning to go over there, bring your Drivers licence and cash money for the boat rental. (Starting fron 18$ per hour per boat)
One of my favorite spots in austin. Their equipment is top notch and they even have pup friendly kayaks. Just got to get there early.
So fun!
I love coming out here during the spring and summer season! They have coupons you can use only in the weekday which helps and find it to be reasonable. The location is great and the place is really clean with a wonderful staff. The only downside is that they raised up the price. So definitely won’t be coming here as much anymore since it used to be $15 per hour or $45 for the whole day. Now it’s $18 per hour or $54 for the whole day. If you want to go somewhere cheaper, check out Congress Avenue Kayaks, which is only $5 per hour. Don’t forget to bring cash!
If you are visiting Austin, this is a must. Its a unique and fun way to see the city and its natural beauty. We rented a canoe for about an hour and it was awesome. It was about 17 bucks an hour for a canoe that could seat about 4. The also have kayaks and Sups.
Convenient location for kayak rental. This location is cash only. There usually are lots of people on the weekends, but they do good job processing rentals and distributing equipment as fast as possible.
$18 for 2 people for 2 hrs was a great deal I think. Went in the sprinkling rain today and it was only a little too cold. The guy that took our money and the guy who helped us dock were both nice. Only thing I wish about this place was that it opened up to a bigger lake without current...
Quick and easy experience! Cash only but there is an ATM there
Reasonable prices. This place is super fun to kayak from. Shallow water to practice kayaking in before you go to the wide River if you even decide to go into it.The only gripe is that its cash only so bring a heavy wallet.
Out here visiting my son from Chicago and he took us kayaking and paddle boarding. Water was nice and refreshing to jump off the kayak n take a lil dip. Would definitely reccomend it if your in the area
We took my 83 year old mom in her wheel chair. The staff was amazing in helping her in and out of the canoe. Beautiful area to canoe and reasonable cost.
Good service, fair pricing and friendly staff. Great day on the river.
We rented 2 canoes and a SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard). We had a great time out on the lake. It is a short paddle down Barton Creek to Lady Bird Lake, but a food time to get familiar with the boats.
Pretty laid back experience, no hassle. Would recommend not going on ACL or SXSW weekends
They Are so Rude And Disrespectful like the lady’s that get your ids and everything they are so rude like they yell at u and give u Attitude and they shouldn’t work there if they finna act like that it’s disrespectfulThe guys that help u are very nice and helpful but the lady’s in the front are rude and I advice y’all go somewhere different who’s nice and actually can help u with a nice tone and be calm about any situation and not yell and I hope manger or any Supervisor see this cause I will never go back there again
Awesome place to hang out with the family or friend ...even go alone and meet a few new people!!! Cold and relaxing... dont pass this place up!!! Reasonable rental prices
Fun but not a cheap outing.
It was so beautiful and looked like everyone was having a blast. We thought our three year old was ready for canoeing until 5 minutes into our adventure he jumped out of the boat and into the water he went! LOL (of course he was still safe and wearing a life jacket) The employees were so kind that they did not make us pay for the hour rental since we were in the canoe for such a short time. We are going to try again soon...this time with a baby sitter :-)
Really nice and chill people working here. We saw lots of turtles swimming and hanging next to the water! They only take cash but their is an ATM up the street and they didnt charge me the extra time it took to get the money.Do recommend. We will come again if we are visiting.
