Whitaker’s was available to answer all my questions and help me with the rental car process. It is a huge perk that they partner with a rental service. They gave updates throughout the process of fixing my car and even got it out ahead of schedule! I will definitely be bringing my car back here if I should ever need to.

Took my VW Atlas here for ~$17k in hail damage (golf ball sized hail) after a friend recommended them. From the start, Shane was super communicative about the process and throughout their work. They got my vehicle in about a week after I called them. The vehicle needed pretty much every panel above waistline repaired or replaced. Despite a recommendation to replace the roof, Shanes team was able to repair the roof to the original condition as if nothing ever happened. The team clearly takes pride in their work and the finished product shows that. When I picked my vehicle up, it looked like a brand new car.Every time i visited the shop, I felt like a VIP. Shane treated me with respect and made sure I was informed about every aspect of the work they would be doing. When I picked up the vehicle, he even had it pulled right up front for me.I highly recommend this place if youve got body or paint work you need done! I will certainly use them again if I ever need a quality body shop again.

This is the second time I’ve had work done at Whitakers Auto. Both times I worked with Kyle and both times a received top shelf service. This time, a front end loader took a sharp turn and ripped of the back end of my car. Kyle kept me informed all along the way as to the progress of the work. Because of how easy Kyle made getting the repairs done the first time was the main reason I went back the second time. Everyone was always pleasant, helpful and professional. Whitaker’s did a fantastic job on my car. They clearly communicated timing, what they were doing and if anything changed during the process. I was on a short timeline since I was driving cross country the next week; when I told them this they worked diligently and even got my car done early. I drove 4 hours down from my college town to my hometown because of the quality of work and customer service.

Communications between my Hartford Insurance company, the repair shop and the rental car agency were flawless. I delivered my car to Whitakers and was picked up there by the rental car agency,. The shop gave me updates on progress, and the return to pick up the car followed the same way. When I discovered one small glitch, I called and brought the car in and it was fixed in minutes, along with a lifetime warranty for their work. I had front end damage to my vehicle after an 18 wheeler hit a large piece of tire and threw it onto my vehicle. My Land Rover was decimated by the April hail storm. My insurance company estmated $3k in damage in a virtual inspection. I took it to Whitakers to get fixed. They found 12k in damages and went back and forth with my insurance company to prove the damage and obtain the rest of the funds. I didnt have to make a single call. They helped me arrange my rental car. So easy. Now the car looks new. They used all Land Rover parts. Kyle always kept in touch. Great, great business!!

I just cant say enough, about how professional and helpful Whitakers Auto Body & Paint were after I took my car to their S. Lamar shop after a City of Austin truck backed into me. They were very patient with my situation and their preliminary estimate was actually much less than I anticipated and right on target. Kyle Adickes always responded to my e-mails and calls quickly. There were multiple hail storms in the Austin area just prior to my accident and there was 1 month minimum waitlist to get my car into the shop. There were also no rental cars available, due to the pandemic/ summer travel, etc. Thankfully, Whitakers has a contract with the Enterprise on S. Lamar for Whitakers customers and I was able to get a rental car for a month. I also appreciate that Kyle didnt cave in to the pressure from MY insurance company, that wanted the body shop to put a welded on used part in my vehicle. Kyle was professional, but stated that was NOT a good fix and eventually a supervisor at my insurance company got involved and agreed with Whitakers! After my repairs were done, I was so impressed with the quality of the repairs, the paint job and the extra day they took to run quality control checks on my vehicle. A week later, when my battery died from having been idle so long, I reached out to Kyle. He assured me it was the battery and not the starter. Even though the battery problem was not their responsibility, he sent a worker to my parking garage to jump my vehicle, and I drove my car to Whitakers and Kyle immediately put a new battery in my car on his lunch break. I paid for the new battery, and was on my way in 20 minutes! If I had taken my vehicle to my dealership or a garage on a Friday afternoon, I would have spent the rest of the day waiting for it to be worked on. I cant say enough about the customer service, professionalism and the quality of the work at Whitakers Auto Body & Paint, which is a local Austin business!

I went there for hail damage after the storm a month or so ago and they were SO communicative and my car looked great. I worked with Kyle & Julie. Ive used Whitakers four times in the last five years and have experienced professional service from Kyle, who wrote all three estimates for my vehicles. He clearly knows his business and is very clear in what needs to be done to make the vehicle look as good as it did before damage was done; from assessing the damage to dealing with the insurance and rental car companies, and on to staying in contact through the entire process, Kyle is exceptional. Hes kind, too. Julie, in the front office, also is kind, professional, and accommodating--she made sure a rental car would be available for me and remembered that I have a dog.Only one of the four repairs was my fault (the one when the garage wall jumped in front of my truck as I was pulling it in--unbelievable!), but Whitakers handled the minor cosmetic damage at a fair price so I didnt call anyone else when I wanted to replace my Coopers windshield or when it needed repairs after being rear-ended. I didnt meet the people who actually do the work but they are very good! My vehicles look exactly like they did before the damage was done. Good job guys!Nice people. Really nice. My experience at Whitakers was genuinely the best experience Ive ever had getting my car fixed. I had damage to my car from a bear attack while on a road trip. I went into Whitakers, they ordered the part needed and had it the next day. I went in for what I though would be an hour repair. It was done in 10 minutes perfectly and I was charged for a mere 10 minutes of labor when I was expecting an hour of labor cost! I would recommend Whitakers to my best friends and my family. Super professional. Awesome place!

I stopped by on a Thursday for an estimate and they had my car in the shop the following Monday. They handled the rental car (including pickup and drop-off) and made the whole process seamless.

Came to Whitakers because of an accident I had in the now Infamous Winter Storm of 2021 we had here in Austin. They replaced the front bumper of my wifes Mazda CX-5 as well as painting it and a little other damage. They did a really great job of lining everything up correctly and made sure the color of the new bumper and the rest of the car matched. We were really please on how everything turned out. They even washed the outside as well as vacuuming the inside which was really in need of. I definitely recommend them. They communicated really well throughout the process and the work they did was top notch.

Kyle was very helpful and knowledgeable. My 2015 Camaro had an incident with a deer and I was not interested in a quicky repair from a chain body shop with Chinese parts. Kyle understood I wanted factory parts and went to bat with my insurance company. I was very happy with the work and communication. Kyle called once or twice a week to keep me updated. I would use them again should the need arise.

Based on my prior very positive experience with them, I only got one bid on the work which they were able to complete in only 7 days. U3: Mr. Whitaker has asked me to remove my review repeatedly, but I cant do that. We researched extensively and if we had seen negative reviews we wouldnt have chosen Whitakers.U2: Got an apology email from the owner & offer of free car washes for a year. We live 20min away, so wont take him up on it, but appreciate the gesture. Was asked to bring my car in Tuesday, in the morning, and would be provided with a rental for the day while they fixed the issues. Car went back first thing in the morning. We did a test drive and I showed the trim panel issues. Enterprise picked me up and one other customer, but it turns out Whitakers hadnt made a car reservation for me yet and Enterprise was pretty much out of cars. I had to wait at Enterprise for at least an hour for a car to become available. Wish that had been thought about. Content w/the final work but wont be going back.UPDATE: After I spoke to Nationwides shop manager this morning, Whitakers is going to set us up with a rental car for the day while they fix the issues we have with their work. Upgrading my rating by a star as they start to actually work with us. Hopeful the end result will be better than this initial experience.We spent 20 days without our car and when we got it back the work wasnt great. We were merged into on a major road in Austin and needed the drivers side door replaced. The other persons was at fault and insurance covered it, but instead of taking our MINI to the body shop weve used before, we used Whitakers because they were covered by Nationwides lifetime warranty and because they offered their own. Plus the rest of the reviews are really good.Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite of most every review we read. We were first told our car would be done at the beginning of the week by one person, before another person later told us the end of the week. We had to proactively call about our car because we werent kept up-to-date on its progress. When my wife would call, the project manager would sound annoyed that we were calling yet again.Over the course of this repair, our pickup date was delayed at least 3 times. When we called at the end of the week (because Whitakers rarely called us with an update), we were told the car was in the wash bay but had an airbag light on — something it hadnt come in with — that needed to be sorted out by calling a specialist. When our contact called later that day he said it came down to a shorted wire or a circuit board not having been plugged in when the door was put back together. This was a Friday and Whitakers isnt open on the weekend. So we were delayed an entire weekend.Come Monday, we called around 1pm and were told the airbag light was being fixed. Our manager called at 3:30pm to tell us that a clip that holds the interior trim panel to the door had been broken from taking it off and putting it back on too many times and that they needed to get a part from MINI but that itd be ready first thing — at 11am — the next morning. So that delayed our pickup another day.We called Monday at 11:30am, since we hadnt heard from anyone, an were told the car was ready and was being detailed and that we could come by at 2pm to pick it up. I was unavailable so my wife went and endured 10 minutes of what felt like a lecture from one of the owners, and then waited another 20 minutes for the car to be ready.So, we have our car back, but the work is not good. The interior trim panel buckles at the top where it meets the interior window weather seal and there is a wide gap at the bottom, approximately 3x the width of the factory-installed panel on the passenger side. To top it off, theres an issue with some of the weather stripping causing wind and outside noises to be a lot louder than they were before.Whitakers work carries a lifetime warranty, but Im worried itll take a lifetime to do this work correctly, especially when the customer service has been mostly non-existent and overly aggressive when it does show up. I cannot in good conscience recommend Whitakers to anyone.

I brought in my car to repair bumper damage from a minor incident that happened a few years ago. Having previously gotten a very high estimate at another shop, I chose to wait on the repair until it was necessary to get it done as I was no longer keeping the car.Whitakers came up as one of the best-reviewed body shops in my area, and I am pleased to say that the entire experience was wonderful. I was able to get through on the phone and come in for a quick estimate. Since I had a damaged plastic bumper, I was warned that the metal behind the bumper might also have damage, and I was pleased that the staff was very transparent with me about this but also gave me the choice of how to proceed.Based on previous experience, I knew that the estimate I received was reasonable, so I was happy to leave the car the same day. Not only was the work actually completed a day or two early, but the final amount was slightly below the estimate. Communication was excellent the entire time and I received a text with photos showing me what the metal looked like after the bumper was removed. I really appreciate Whitakers staff for taking this extra step to make sure I felt comfortable and understood everything that was happening.In the end, my repair was completed on time, on budget, and the end result looked excellent. Everyone I worked with was courteous and communicative. I would highly recommend Whitakers based on my experience.

I researched online for the best auto body shops especially with hail damage and these guys came up as one of the best if not the best. Family owned and operated since 1975 I believe. They exceeded my expectations and Kyle even cleaned the spoiler that was chalky and I couldnt get it perfect like he did and he didnt even have to do that. Thank youI do have to go back and get the sunroof plastic piece attached properly because it is too loose but hardly something that cant be fixed quickly so I dont even mind I gotta go back. I had what I thought was a minor collision with a road work garbage barrel on I-35 that rolled into my lane and Whitakers went to bat for me with the insurance company from beginning to end. My 10 year old car looks like new and has a lifetime warranty on the work they provided. Total thumbs up.

This is my first review Ive ever written and for good reason. I took my car to Whitakers after I had a low speed collision with a deer that damaged my front fender and headlight, requiring replacement parts. I was lucky to do so, as Whitakers noticed how terrible of an estimate my insurance agent had given me in order to save his multimillion dollar company a few bucks at my expense. Whitakers notified me and dealt with my insurance company on my behalf, ensuring that I would get the proper replacement parts that I was owed. Despite the setbacks with my insurance company, Whitakers got my car back to me in a reasonable timeframe and kept me updated on all developments along the way. The replacement fender perfectly matched the surrounding body in terms of color and fit, and youd never think I had a collision to begin with. As a side note I was pleased to notice the precautions they had taken regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, from clean pens at reception to seat covers inside of cars currently under maintanence. The next time I need auto body work in Austin I know I can trust Whitakers at every step to look out for me and do the job right.

My Corolla was in the wrong place at the wrong time, in a cross fire of bullets. No one hurt except my car. You cant imagine how much damage 2 bullets can do!My brother referred me to Kyle at Whitakers. The whole experience was so easy and stressless! He kept in contact all thru the process. My family has been going to Whitakers for many years for all of our autobody issues. They have always been awesome! Kyle is great. He has been the one taking care of 3 of my vehicles so far. He goes out of his way to make sure everything is perfect. Everytime I have gone in for an issue, they have taken care of several extra little things. All around honest and courteous business. After a terrible experience at a shop about 15 minutes away, came here and met with Shane and one of their estimators. I can’t recall his name, but he was incredibly helpful and set expectations for the cost to have a hood repainted and installed on my truck. Shane showed me some work they did and everything looked awesome. For the first seven years of my automotive career, I inspected vehicles across the country for leasing companies to determine previous repairs and frame damage. I’m very particular. Awesome paintwork and it’s guaranteed as long as you own the vehicle. Shane reviewed the repair with me and even helped with a touch-up on a completely unrelated part of my Tahoe. Stellar service here. Very happy with these folks and I’ll be recommending to everyone I know.

A friend of mine recommended Whitakers, after the first phone call they had my business. They are extremely professional, fast, and courteous. From drop off to pick up they clearly put their customers first. Shane went above and beyond making sure all my concerns were addressed, he was very knowledgeable and tactfully handled insurance adjustments. I felt included throughout the process. The work they did was impeccable.

The most pleasant experience I have ever had dealing with anything car related. I had a broken handle on my tailgate replaced, and I had put in wood paneling in place of the normal interior plating and they managed to take it apart and put the whole ramshackle job back together and get the new handle in perfectly. Even asked them to try some stuff they normally didnt do, but they said they could take a stab at it, and when they werent able to do it it, they took off the cost of labor. Then they even had some paint left from a previous job and filled in a chip in my paint just because they could. Good people, honest business, and very professional.I also work in healthcare and am a bit of a germaphobe and their current precautions made me feel perfectly fine and they are going above and beyond to follow them.Glad I came across town to go to this place, because I didnt think it was possible for an auto body shop to ever have almost 5 stars! Thankfully it was true!

The entire trunk and rear bumper had to replaced on my A4. I worked with Shane and he was fantastic. He regularly kept in contact about the status and timing and when I picked up the car it looked better than new. I highly recommend Whitakers for their professionalism and quality of work.

I found this body shop after my car’s front bumper was clipped by the bike rack on a city bus. They got me a same day appointment to have my car inspected. Aside from the obvious dent in my bumper, the gentleman inspecting my car saw that the bike rack also scraped my tire, which I hadn’t noticed. He was quick to put together an estimate. They got me in contact with a local car rental company. I was probably in and out within 20 minutes. The day I dropped my car off they contacted the rental car company for me who promptly arrived to pick me up. When I arrived to pick up the repaired car, the repair was flawless and I couldn’t tell that the bumper was ever replaced. They provided a lifetime warranty for their repair. The car was washed and looked beautiful again.The quality of the work was great. The lady at the front desk who helped coordinate a lot of this was very polite and professional. They seem to have a great team working at this body shop. My overall experience here was very satisfied. I was already happily on my way when a week later one of the owners called me too follow up and make sure I was happy with my service!If any of my cars ever need body work this will be the first place I contact.

We have had our vehicles repaired following collisions by Whitakers Auto Body & Paint three or four times, and keep coming back because of the way they do business. First of all, their repair work and painting is definitely top notch. They guarantee their work for as long as you own the vehicle, so hey, theyve GOT to get it right. They work well with our insurance company (Liberty Mutual/Safeco), and help with a lot of the little logistic things that drive you crazy when dealing with insurance companies (Whitakers lined up a rental car to pick us up at the shop when the car was dropped off; they work with the insurer to take care of any hidden damage that might not have been covered in the initial estimate without delay or getting me involved, etc.).They are a family owned and operated business, and their follow-up and customer service is stellar. As long as I keep banging up my car, Ill rely on Whitakers to make it look like new.

I recently took my vehicle to Whitakers (for the second time) for repairs and, as expected, was very satisfied with the results. My trunk and rear bumper cover needed to be replaced and painted after being rear-ended, and these repairs were completed in approximately one week.
