John at Hollerans is the man! I needed a pre purchase inspection on a 996 turbo...the only hiccup is that it had to be on a Saturday. I got in contact with Hollerans and he was willing to come in on his day off and accommodate the job.John was extremely meticulous during the inspection while being honest and unbiased, and went way more in depth on the PPi than I expected any shop to be. Before my career change I was a BMW mechanic for 13 years, and it was noted and appreciated that John went over the car like if he was purchasing it for himself.Holleran’s Performance if a very clean and well organized shop, which was immediately apparent, seeing parts organized and stored in rubber totes instead of random boxes and lying around.I highly recommend Hollerans Performance. So much so, I’m probably going to make the 6.5hr drive up to his shop (from Southern California) to have him install a LSD on my newly acquired X50 996 turbo!

My car runs like a finely tuned sewing machine as a true properly maintained Porsche should.His engine builds are incredible.....his work is meticulous and his knowledge of Porsche will leave one very happy they had him do the work.......this shop is better than good it’s top tier. So lucky to have this place so close to me because I would drive from anywhere to be sure my baby was being taken care if by this shop. Like I said above, if you want your Porsche perfect......give John a call.

Porsche enthusiasts can be a finicky lot - and Im no exception... There are a lot of shysters pedaling Snake Oil or leading with unrealistic price on service they have no practical experience performing.John grew up around a Porsche racing family - and his effective problem solving through elegant engineering &fabricating is the same foundation upon which the Porsche family built their sportscar empire.If you are looking for a fix that is good enough - or the cheapest horsepower-per-dollar proposition - then you should probably keep searching...However, if you seek QUALITY mechanical craftsmanship by a Porsche SPECIALIST who is passionate about performance - and the overall customer experience he provides - then you have found a wealth of talent in John at Hollerans Performance.

John does amazing work on Porsche’s. I have 4 which I take to John when I need some work. His attention to detail is utterly amazing. If you love Porsche’s then you should take it to John.

I took my restored 65 356 SC to John for a new top end. Barrels, Pistons, Rings, Valves etc. a couple months ago. I have owned this car 32 years and really care about how work is performed. The car came out and I immediately drove with a group of 356s to Flagstaff. 2300 miles round trip through mountains and high desert. The car performed excellent. No leaks or oil usage. John and his team are reliable and maintain good communication. I am recommending John to my fellow 356 club members. This is a group with high standards and I have confidence in recommending John.

I cannot say thank you enough for John at Hollerans. His communication (emails, phone calls, pics of my car) while being serviced more than put my mind at ease that my vehicle was in good hands. John is knowledgeable about all things Porsche and it shows in his attention to detail. Holleran’s did amazing work on my Porsche! John rebuilt my 3.6 from the block up. The work was done quickly (as quickly as can be expected for quality work on a high performance engine) and the cost was more than fair. John also made sure the rest of the car was in order and made adjustments to the transmission linkage and other systems so the car was at peak performance when I got my precious 911 back.Anyone that owns a Porsche knows that nothing is “cheap” but paying a fair price and having 100% confidence in the work can be priceless.I’m now planning my next 911 project and I know exactly who is building the motor, Holleran’s Performance.

Simply the best...

The work and attention to detail from John is stellar. The 964 drove well before (minus the bad 3rd gear synchro) but after the G50 rebuild with a few goodies and his special touch it shifts and drives like a new car (in a good way). Just took it out on its first spirited canyon drive early this AM and bleap me, its so good! 6 stars ;) Thanks again John!
