Weve used Charlies Tropic twice now for installations. Both times the actual installers were great and were satisfied with the finished product as well as their professionalism. We had some hiccups during this install (water lines & drywall) which also added a day to the install, then supply issues added a few more to button everything up. During all of this the sales/project lead failed to reach out and apologize or even provide basic customer service regarding inconvenience, delays, eta, etc. Having said that they were quick to send the bill. These days its the simple things that set similar vendors apart and they dropped the ball in our case.

We found what looks like black mold in the unit on the other side of the filter, which means it was coming into the air. The technician installed a UV unit, which will take care of that problem and help to keep our air clean and safe.

Man, these guys are great! They are not trying to overstate issues and run up charges, they are truly trying to solve problems, even if it means a cheaper fix. They come back as needed and no bill comes when I expect one. They’re technically very strong. I’m impressed, and happy to have found them.

The estimate from Scott was the best I received, and he understood what I wanted to achieve with the system. The installers were able to come out in a couple of days and were finished in about 2.5 hrs. I was very pleased with the price and service.

My air conditioner unit drain line clogged. I tried several online remedies with no results. I called for service and they came out the same morning. The clog was significant and the tech used several techniques to clear the line. Since I had a maintenance agreement, this service was included. Did a great job installing my heat pump

We had our ac at our business act up and put in a service call, they came out the next day and it was a simple issue for them to solve, the drain line was clogged. They suggested we sign up for a maintenance plan that would include this service in the future at a very reasonable rate per year. Did not have to think about it at all. Own a new home and asked for them to come out and check my A/C for maintenance, turns out my system was not installed properly... they took the time to explain to me what the issues were, I was still under warranty from the other guys so they were very honest about telling me that I should demand they fix my unit while still under warranty. Needless to say I called the other company, had them fix my issues as per CTHA specifications, and guess whos getting all our maintenances from now on? NOT THE OTHER GUYS! The driver of your company van keeps driving down our private drive five or six times a day to get to where hes staying, even after hes been told its private property and to use his own entrance! I just had my garbage out to take to the street and he pushed it out of the way to get by. Way to represent your business.

Not very good at pleasing their customers or abiding by the guarantees on their website. They just wanted the $5000 sale. The saleman didnt even have the balls to show up...they sent the young laborers in. What a joke...save your money for a better company.

Our sales rep (Chris Johnson) is an example how to work with customers. He was always on time for our appointments, took his time to explain whats the best for our requirements, and found a good system to install. We had a brand new installation of the whole system. Our lead technician Steve did a superb job designing ducts and installing everything. Thanks to correct system our electrical bill are much smaller than they could be with less efficient system. This is the second time weve used Charlies, in last three years. This time, when two others locally said we needed a whole new system, Charlies had the exact part in stock. They came out and replaced it in our older unit and got it up and running, good as new, in no time. They had to come out and top off the freon the next day, but this unit has always been just quirky that way. Love these guys!

Charlies stepped up and fixed the wrongs another company did - which was a tall order. They were responsive, professional and did a great job. A special shout out to Tyler who went out of his way to diagnose and correct the problem so as not to cost me so much and to take the time to explain everything to me.

Got home from vacation to find my a/c in a block of ice. After thawing it out, it still wasnt working as it should. Called Tropic Air and they were able to fit me in the next day. They listened to what I wanted and the installation went so smoothly that I contracted with them for annual maintenance of all three units in our home. My AC went down on the hottest day of the year so far. They were able to schedule an appointment promptly including coming out on a Saturday without overtime rates. Tim quickly diagnosed the problem and the lowest cost solution. Although the system is near the end of its useful life, he was able to get it it back up and running quickly. Tim was very professional and customer focused. The cost was very low compared to past experience with other companies. Charlies Tropic Heating & Air Conditioning is highly recommended.

Our a/c went out on one of the hottest days of the year. One company that we called said it would be several days before they could see us. Steve came out the same day and told us that our very old system needed to be replaced--not the best news but certainly what we expected. He scheduled us the next day to replace it, and told us how we could still get some cooling on the old system till then. The next day a team from Charlies replaced the system and had it running. We even saw Charlie who came by to ensure everything was up to code. Great service!! Will definitely use again for our service.

Fantastic service. We called at 5 on a Tuesday after we forgot to deal with this until our tenant came home from work. Steve was there within 15 minutes!! He diagnosed the problem and improvised a short cut as a special part was needed ( he overrode the heat option in May ). He explained that when the part comes in, they will call us and come back to make the system fully functional. We got the standard charge diagnostic bill the next day. I called with a CC# and was done. Effortless

During the very cold weather Charlies Tropic heating and air was prompt coming to our house to check out the heating/AC unit. It was making a strange noise. They got it back working great and bill wasnt outrageous. We have been with them for years and have always been satisfied with their work.

They did a good job on my new unit, Brent and Tim are excellent. However, I would not recommend them for any kind of service to your existing heating/AC. I would say that I use to be a loyal customer, but that changed recently when they did a warranty repair. $200.00 for something that was covered under warranty. Over the top gouging.

At the house he did a great job of explaining the issue, what was needed to repair, and what to expect later in the Summer. I truly appreciate his honest dealings...could have charged us whatever he wanted, but he was straightforward with an relatively inexpensive fix to keep us cold. Also recommended some duct reconfigs for more efficiency when it comes time to replace the unit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
