I was here waiting on a go bus for my trip to Kentucky its a really nice and clean place compared to the usual bus stations I get stuck at. They have basketball, pool, and exercise machines. I had never come inside the facility before but.im glad I did today. It was way too cold to be outside. Thank you Athens Community Center!!!

A very nice and friendly place to work out. Everyone is super kind.

I used to go here to take a shower. Most people that use the Rec Center never use the showers, they just change into their street clothes, instead of showering off all that funky sweat. However, since Covid-19 the showers are now closed. They said they cant guarantee them to be sanitary, implying that use of their showers might spread disease. The mens locker room is small and cramped. Sanitizing of the gym equipment is mainly done by the people that use them.Planet Fitness, nearby has hot showers, charge $10 a month, have free pizza from time to time, are very friendly, and their facility is very clean. The staff routinely sanitizes all their equipment.

FYI this review is for the bike path only, the path east of the community center and north of Athens to Nelsonville.It is nice for walking and biking but for rollerblading the paths need to be smoother and free of leaves and debris so Ill try the middle section that circles around Athens and see if thats better. They probably dont have enough staff or money to clear debris from the paths frequently or repave.

Staff is awesome, friendly and informative. Cardio and resistance training areas should be separated with more equipment in each....WMR

It’s a great place to hang out and exercise.

All I did was attend a meeting. The temp was just right, bathroom clean. Seems like a nice place to explore other services.

In town for work, they offer a $5 day pass. Great value considering the purple monstrosity down the street tries to charge $20/day. Nice place, very clean.

Good community center and has all facilities you need. I cant really attest to its functionality because I didnt get to use any. The one downside Is that the location cannot be easily spotted on the road which means you will have to really pay close attention will driving through the area. I believe this can be improved on.

Wonderful place. Has improved my life so much. I quit exercising, then I checked out the Rec Center. I now walk between 4-5 mules 5 days a week usually. I love it. I feel that this has definitely improved my life. I love how much better I feel.

Membership is pricey. More than I’ve ever had to pay for one. On top of that, they charge for classes or any extra events that you want to participate in. They charge kids $5 per day, just to come in and shoot around on the basketball court. That’s pretty pricey considering most of the courts are not open, most kids are only there for a hour or two, and a lot of families can’t afford that everyday. How about making it more affordable and encouraging kids to get out and be active. I do wish that there was a better alternative in this town.

We love going to Rathacon. One day convention we drive 3 hours to go to. Nice area and nice center.

The center is nice and has most of the amenities that you would expect in a rec center. There is a small gym section, basketball court, training room and a nice outside section with a playground and a skate park. They also have a hall. It is neat and clean and most of the equipment you need is there.

This is a great place to excessive and just have fun. Lots of good events and activities to enjoy. Also a really cool skate park, usually not crowded at all, besides when Tony Hawk visited.

We attended a toddler class here. Teacher was very friendly and good with kids. The place is moderately clean and well-maintained. We were there between 4-6 pm, the gym was full, mostly elderly men and air quality was not good around the gym. Staff is friendly. There is a very nice playground right next to the building and a beautiful path to enjoy the nature.

Best car wash in the area. I love the way my car looks. I always get the fire and ice, it leaves my car looking the great. The vacs are great

The community center has something for everyone, and membership is reasonably priced. You can get yearly, monthly, or even day passes without breaking the bank. If all the treadmills are being used, you can head to the indoor track upstairs. Dont forget to borrow a lap counter from the desk!

The Athens Community Center is a great place to fit. It has an elevated indoor track, several basketball courts and a room filled with free weights and exercise equipment. The membership is reasonably priced and they offer a track only option; great for those cold winter months when its too frigid to go outside for a run.

Accommodates gym goers of various levels. Track is useful. Some equipment can use updating. Showers and lockers available. Rooms and space to use for events.

Had an archery tournament there. Great place, nice people, and well managed.

Good parking, great services, attended a class here, good meeting spaces, set up nice.

I go there regularly to exercise and other than the tiny triangular locker room it is a nice and friendly place.

The Athens Community Parks and Recreation Center sponsored the yearly Chair Vollyball Tournament for Seniors. The Evans Senior Center of Grove City, Ohio was represented by 4 teams. 3 of these teams made it to playoffs. Congratulations Lavender Team came in 2nd place and received awards

Location is good, Equipment quality and availability is good. Some of the staff have attitudes. Experience all depends on who is working and what you want from them.

Rented an area for our daughters birthday party. It was a preschool room and was just perfect, everything from the price to the kids height tables and chairs to the sink in the room.

Clean place. Friendly folks. Wish it had sauna or hot tub. Membership is pricey.

The Athens Community Center houses a gym, full-length track, weights, and a cardio room which includes treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, and ellipticals. It has 2 full size basketball courts which can also be used as volleyball courts. It also includes rooms for birthday parties, wedding receptions &/or meetings. Its a great place for b-day parties & also has a playground for the kids.

Something for everyone, except a pool. Nice exercise stations in the cardio-weights area. Polite people. Well supervised. Easy parking. Fair rates, including solo-use punch cards (Ive had mine 6 years! Guess I should go more often. LOL).

I havent worked out since march of 2011 and i was able to walk right in and work out and never felt uncomfortable for a second now i need more friends to work out with me.

Beautiful, well maintained facility. An amazing array of activities supported; fitness equipment, basketball, roller hockey, skate boarding and bike park, volleyball, swimming (outdoor), bicycling access to the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway, indoor running track...and, Im sure that Im forgetting some...

I work out there several times a week and also have a yoga class there. People are very nice and everyone working out are friendly also.

Went to a meeting here. Its nice to have a place close to home and central to the community for small fees.
